My family had a wonderful stay at this hotel in 3 bedrooms villa for 7 days where the relaxed ambience and tropical vibe made for the perfect getaway. The lush garden surrounding the property added to the serene atmosphere, and the ocean view was absolutely stunning, providing a peaceful backdrop throughout my stay. The service was exceptional—every staff member was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my experience memorable. The food, while delicious, is a bit on the pricier side, but given the quality and the beautiful setting, it’s worth it for a special treat. Overall, it’s a fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature, with a level of service that really makes you feel at home. Highly recommend!
Beautiful, great service friendly staff
We stayed for a week. We highly recommend this resort . The hospitality from all sides including Aunty Martha and Aunty Ramona as well as Jim. Thank you and we will return hopefully soon.
The resort exceeded my already high expectations. The check in process was easy and I was escorted to my room. I had a beach front suite, doors that opened out to the sea and white sand. The food was always excellent, cocktails nice and strong and the restaurant staff always very attentive. In general, all resort staff were so friendly, welcoming and would go above and beyond to make sure my stay was exceptional. You can book tours through the resort and I’d definitely recommend doing this. Very much enjoyed my stay, will recommend to all friends and I’ll hope to come back some day.
The most friendly and welcoming staff Pools and beach are stunning Rock Pool Bar was a fave for sunset Cultural evening was a highlight Expensive drinks and meals but enjoyed the quality Relaxed atmosphere and chill vibe A perfect way to end our vacay in Samoa
Serenity
The beauty of the white sand, the waves crashing against the shore, the clearness of the blue water, made this trip so relaxing and serene. It was off season, but the hotel and staff served us well, friendly smiles all around, Mele at the spa worked her magic with my massage and facial, food and drinks offered were tasty and we had a great stay, would definitely come back on a future trip.
Fabulous
Lovely resort, very relaxing. Food excellent. In house operated tours and shuttle, fantastic. Staff very helpful, happy & smiling. Culture entertainment evening & fire/ knife show hosted by in house staff ( island winners ) with everyone enjoying every moment and full of enthusiasm. Snorkelling straight off beach, amazing colourful coral and hundres of really colourful fish - best ever (beats barrier reef) as can get so close up and water shallow enough to use snorkel whille standing up. Very quiet after 9pm. Problems with room 408 but maintenance sorted out following day although we realised on check out day AC not working correctly and room very damp - we put it down to humidity and heavy tropical rain but they were sorting it
We had a lovely week with great friends - however the rooms weren’t serviced as stated, we had to ask for towels and toilet paper. The spa that we booked and paid for wasn’t there and the 3 bedroom villa was 3x 1bedroom apartments and all separate.
Return to Paradise is a truly special place. For us it was important to support the island not a large multi national which was one of the reasons for choosing here. We absolutely made the right choice and felt like one of the family. The reef directly in front of the hotel is superb, the trips were wonderful (the turtles and giant clams were a highlight for me). It was a genuine home away from home, not a flashy faceless resort. We certainly loved it.
We had our wedding here on the 24th Sep 2024 and it was a beautiful day. Appreciate our wedding coordinators Florrie Semu and Sina Lemalu for making our dream come true. Food was great and recommendations made by the two were well received by our guests. Thank you. We stayed here for 10 days. Our room was great and very spacious. The aircon was a little weak but didn’t bother us too much as we were out in Apia everyday. Our room was cleaned on the daily and the staff respected our privacy when we requested for them to come back later to service the room. It is a bit of a drive if you are travelling to Apia everyday so something to consider especially if you do not like driving at night. Staff I found very friendly. Buffet food breakfast and dinner we had on 2 occasions, was ok. Road to the resort was a sore point but it looks like they were working on a new road leading to the resort which is great. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. Thank you
The location is exceptional with a beautiful beach on your doorstep (ocean rough at times). Great family friendly amenities and entertainment. We loved our tour to the east side of the island, the guide was very knowledgeable. The staff are very friendly, food is average (the menu felt repetitive after 7days). The only downside was that we felt cleanliness in our villa could have been improved on. The staff were responsive to our notification of poor water pressure, this was fixed that day.
Beautiful location, lovely beach with good snorkelling, very friendly helpful staff, good range of dining options and some excellent entertainment e.g Fefea evening, good gym facility
TV didnt work
I liked the fact that local people are trained up to work in the resort providing important employment opportunities. The owner and her family made a real effort to make me feel welcome even though I was only staying a short stay. The Saturday night show was fabulous
Enjoyed the whole experience. Very welcome beautiful friendly people.
It was a wonderful stay with kids as the layout allowed for easy movement. The front dest could be more efficient in checking out. Better eye contact and clear communication. Awareness of the time and guests need to head to the airport. The water was turned off and we weren't notified. It was hard to find restaurant and bar staff one day of our stay on a monday. But other than that, i would still recommend. Thank God for Opo at the sparadise. She was amazing, therefore i booked 11 massage appointments during our 5 day stay.
This is an amazing location. A stunning pristine beach with beautiful crashing waves just off shore but also the capacity to snorkel off the beach. A wonderful resort with lovely staff. Food was okay, as with everywhere in the Pacific more vegetarian options would be great! The kids loved the pools and the beach.
We had a wonderful 6 night stay at Return to Paradise in July. The beach was perfect and we had amazing snorkeling while we were there. The kids loved the pools too. Our garden view unit was huge with heaps of space for our family. Everything was very clean. The kitchen facilities were fairly basic but fine for our needs (we self catered a lot of lunches and breakfasts). The staff were really lovely and friendly. We hired a car and were glad we did as the resort is quite isolated so the car was great to get around some of Samoa's other sights but the isolation is also part of its charm as it was a lovely place to spend time in. Make sure you visit the giant clams sanctuary which is nearby... they are beautiful and we also saw several turtles which was amazing. Lying on a lounger, drink in hand, watching the kids play in the rock pools with the setting sun behind them will be an enduring memory. The food was OK but not great in general although some things were delicious such as the fresh tuna, fish and chips and smoothies. The buffet night was good also.
Really amazing staff and beautiful views
Great place to stay with a beautiful surrounding beach which was great for snorkeling. Staff were helpful and friendly.
A great resort on a beautiful beach. Excellent facilities and friendly staff.
Nice location but property showing its age. Very dirty sheets and room with blood and other stains on the covers. A lot of damage to walls and other dirt too. One aircon unit did not work in our room and tv had no connectivity to anything. Service at restaurants very hit and miss with no additional drinks checks or dessert offers ever. Food was good overall apart from pizza, eggplant on pizza was a sloppy disgusting mess.
Authentic Samoan vibe. The man in charge of seating the guests on the fiafia night was so kind to accomodate my elderly parents in the front table. Thank you!
This is my second stay this year within 4 months and my Husband and I loved both January and May stays. The fact that we can open our sliding door to the beach front is amazing in itself - the cleanliness, privacy, and kindness of everyone we encountered was icing on the cake! We will always make Return to Paradise our home away from home. Fa’afetai Lava, Sunema
Beach access was fabulous. Gardens very beautiful and well kept. Room was comfortable
Beautiful setting very nice beach for an island of volcanic rock. Access road in terrible shape. Needs some serious attention. Water pressure a big issue at times
Beautiful location. Friendly staff Multiple food options Great rooms
Staff were excellent and service was brilliant. Staff were very present and watchful while remaining discrete. Friendly and welcoming , they are a credit to the resort .
The setting is gorgeous . Private and peaceful with the sound of the ocean. The villas are spacious and practically laid out. The staff were brilliant . So warm and friendly and welcoming . Nothing was too much trouble and they always ensured everyone was well looked after.
Nice start to our Samoa holiday. Aircon room gave good chance to adjust to warmer temperatures than at home.
Thanks for the memories
The staff were amazing . Good service . Friendly and communicative . Nothing was too much trouble . Beachfront 3 bedroom villa was great. Good size fridge and microwave and well laid out rooms and bathrooms . Wifi is patchy the further away from the resort you are but it’s great at dining room and office. Hot water was also an issue our last 2 days . Nice fiafia night on Wed . Staff were the performers . They were committed , engaged and passionate about what they do .
A great place to stay Staff were fantastic and went out of their way to be kind and helpful The beach is wonderful for snorkelling, our children loved it. The villas were spacious Not too far from the airport
This place is just amazing and the staff are so helpful
Beautiful setting. 3 bed beachfront villa was ideal for us with each bedroom having its own bathroom. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Loved that my room was just steps away from the beach. From my front porch area I could view the palm trees swaying to the breeze emitting from the ocean. A beautiful and relaxing site. Loved that my room had a kitchenette, complete with an apartment size fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee pot to heat water, and equpped with plates, glasses, cups and silverware. We didn't always eat at the resort restaurant, so we bought groceries at Farmer Joe's Market about 1/2 hr away, and cooked in our room. If you want To explore the grounds, there is a beautiful chapel where weddings can be held, and to the left of the chapel there is a walkway that leads to a memoriam set up for the actress Roberta Haynes that played Maeva in the original Return to Paradise movie with Gary Cooper. There is a small museum that has a lot of picures and articles about the movie, to the right of the chapel. The only downside for me was there was no cofee maker to actually brew coffee. Instant will suffice, but nothing beats freshly brewed coffee, the smell, the taste. All in all, had a wonderful 8 days in paradise!
Welcoming place with beautiful views and great food!
Great Stay!
Our family, two adults and two kids, stayed at 3 resorts over 9 days in Samoa. Savaii Lagoon Resort, Saletoga Resort, and Return to Paradise (RTP). Price was $300, $406, and $510 AUD per night respectively for each. So RTP was the most expensive for the beachfront family room. It was HUGE. Two massive and really quite nice full size bathrooms, kitchen and working wifi in the lounge room of your apartment. Solid internet connection is a problem all across the island so that was great. We only stayed two nights here. If I were to do Samoa again, I would stay here, head to Apia markets get all fresh produce and bring it to the resort as they have all reasonable facilities for cooking. If you drink, it is much cheaper to buy your own and have it in your room. There is a good sized fridge. We spent a ridiculous amount of money on eating and drinking at each of the resorts we stayed at and honestly it can be a hit or miss everywhere. I intensely researched all the resorts and noted RTP was not rated the highest, and people said that others were better so I was a bit apprehensive about paying that much. I personally think the location was so beautiful it was truly a highlight. The giant clam sanctuary 5 mins down the road is a MUST. The Rockpool Bar is a stunning place to hang out and the palm trees along the beach are spectacular shade to laze on the beach. Some parts of the resort is older and a little ‘tired’ but the positives far outweigh!
Personally for us we felt this was a very commercial property, however it suited our needs. Beach wasnt really swimmable, but the heavily chlorinated pools were a welcome relief. Thanks RTP.
really good snorkeling and quite a bit of "live coral" which we had not seen at other resort areas.. Interesting history here, staff did a great job.
One of the best resorts I have stayed at. The staff are exceptionally professional, welcoming and friendly. The facilities especially the gym and pools were great, and the beach is one of the best in Samoa.
We absolutely loved our stay at Return to Paradise. It was absolutely stunning & our waterfront room was beyond beautiful. It was the most perfect place we have ever stayed in all of our travels. Highly recommended if you are after relaxing in picturesque natural beauty in paradise. The staff we so warm & welcoming too. Literally couldn’t fault it at all.
I loved the people who run return to paradise. The staff was very friendly and I loved the cats too :) The beach can be a bit rough for swimming but it is absolutely stunning during high and low tides. Very colorful reef. Pretty sunsets and the fia fia show was fantastic! The food at the fia fia was also fantastic. We will be back again.
Beautiful spot. Good food and facilities. Pity that use of beach for swimming and snorkelling prohibited during our stay but understandable Room only had one sheet and nothing else. Concerned that the previous occupants used soap was left for us and no new soap provided
This was an amazing stay for me, my mum and bubba. We loved how gorgeous it was, the breakfast was amazing 😍 and massage services bomb. Staff were friendly! And we managed to catch the fiafia night, and they catered to my vegetarian diet!! And the siva afi (fire dancing) was so stunning. Worth a watch!! Defs worth a stay lol much nicer than many other resorts in Samoa.
Loved the location of the resort, it is such a picturesque place. Loved the staff, helpful and friendly.
They do not cater for young children who have an accident where they have wet the bed while sleeping they dont accomodate and charged us $140.00WST which they say was included in the t’s & c’s but there was NOTHING that stated anything at all and i made that clear i didnt sign or agree to anything such as this ridiculous condition or rule and they refunded us back! They are over rated the costs do not match the run down resort. They cost an arm and a leg which we regret booking with them and moved to Taumeasina which you get what you pay for!!!
We had a lovely stay at this resort with the staff being very helpful and friendly.
Amazing scenery. Friendly staff. Comfortable rooms.
Lovely facility Staff very hospitable and so accommodating better the staff in Apia Only thing was just need to.have rubbish bin in.bathroom.and a shower curtain as water kept gping out of shower But would definitely stay there again
Beautiful but basic
Property is beautiful. 3-bedroom suite was perfect for 4 kids and 3 adults. Food menu was not at all up to "resort" expextations. No kids-friendly meals and it so was really expensive. We ordered fish and chips (35wst) and it was 2-creditcard size pieces of fish and some fries. I didn't check before reserving (just assumed because it's a high-priced resort) breakfast is NOT included AND its 35 each person. TOO MUCH! Continental was 25 each. The wifi and tv would not work but they came and gave us a upb with movies and a router for Internet. Very kind and helpful staff. Thought there would be entertainment or music playing being a Friday night. There were some bunches of hair in the shower, walls could use a fresh wipe-down. And towels were a little funky. Pool was beautiful. Grounds beautiful. I would stay again, but better prepared with food.
Great Resort, we were greeted personally by the osner. The staff are first rate and the entertainment which is also staff was a delight... We are already booked for our return to paradise.
Highly recommended
We loved our stay here, it wasn’t too busy so it was nice and peaceful. The staff there were so friendly.
Epic Ocean Facing room @ Return to Paradise Resort
It was a great pleasure staying there especially the beach & ocean facing rooms are amazing
We really enjoy our stay. Watching the sunset on the beach was beautiful. The staff were very helpful and very friendly. Our only issue was with the restaurant on site the food was honestly terrible and I’m not a picky eater but I’m paying a lot of money as the restaurant was expensive I would expect the food to be decent. I would recommend eating elsewhere. But otherwise everything was amazing.
Some of the facilities (aircon, tv, internet) etc wasn’t working. Food definitely was overpriced and the pool was too warm. Overall good customer service
My concern was, room service. My child vomit during night in our sheets. I also used towels too. The next day I told the staff however they only changed 1 sheet not the blanket, the towels had been folded n placed back on the bed. Also on NYE someone charged their drinks at our room twice which cost $142 that we weren’t aware of. During our stay, we were only go in to sleep, until our last day, we had brekky before check out. The staff needs to check each quests name and pay their food or drinks at the counter instead of charging to room. I didn’t pay the$142 because we don’t drink alcohols, also we went to the resort to sleep at around 2am on NY. Overall was good, just few things that let the service down is listed above.
Our Christmas at Return to Paradise was just lovely. The property is beautiful; the staff were friendly and helpful; the little beach glorious. The owners made Christmas very special and made all of us guests feel very involved. Our beachfront villa was very clean, comfortable and spacious. There was a kettle and a hairdryer and a fridge. Plenty of storage. A comfy bed. A nice verandah to sit on and watch the waves. The little cocktail bar was great, with a decent selection. Food options are limited at the resort but served with a smile, and all good quality. My partner got injured on our last day and the staff were amazing. One of them drove us to the hospital and got help for us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our thanks to Romana, Martha and the whole Return to Paradise team for making our Christmas so memorable. We hope to return ourselves one day!
Amazing place to stay! Truly returning to paradise! Staff amazing, food amazing, accomodation amazing, also to note WIFI was Amazing! My only feedback to consider improving: - Kayaks and paddle boards onsite - the gym your building please make it amazing!
The Resort was excellent, staff were exceptionally helpful. Great security entering and exiting.
It was awesome to get away for a while. I thought i had organised a late check out, appears that a missed communication somewhere made me scramble a little because they needed the room. Little bump in the roaf, otherwise everything else was awesome.
Everything was amazing. Beautiful and clean facility. Excellent customer serviceservice. Friendly cheerful staff members. Amazing location with stunning sunsets. Food was amazingly delicious; from breakfast to dinner they were all. Fiafia night with Maeva band was wonderful and their buffet was amazingly delicious!!! This place may be the best resort on this island. It is truly paradise on earth! Thank you "Return To Paradise" staff for a wonderful and most enjoyable stay in your resort. We absolutely loved our time spent here and look forward to staying here! Best wishes for 2024 and beyond. Happy New Year.
Amazing garden view to the beach, beautiful big room with air-com for 4 of us, absolutely beautiful heaps of houses of the beach with a big building like a church designed to do a event on the beach. Thank you looking forward to see you again next time😘❤️❤️❤️👍
Beautiful resort, very relaxing and great friendly staff
The location is beautiful. The staff especially the hosts are very attentive & lovely. The food is limited & on the expensive side. The cocktails are very light on alcohol & expensive The breakfast was very average.
Return to a simpler time!
I had the pleasure of staying at the resort for 3 Days…Traveling by plane anymore can be very draining..As soon as I landed in Samoa my shuttle was ready to zip me away to another world outside of layovers, security screenings and stagnant air..Samoa is a destination for lovers of our Natural world..When I arrived to Check in I was warmly greeted by the loving staff on hand..Having a delicious dinner it was time to relax..The room was comfortable, clean and a beautiful view of the ocean not far from my doorstep..The staff were always upbeat, kind and caring..You truly feel like family here and not just a guest passing through..The waters surrounding the Resort are gorgeous and exactly what you dream of when you think of the South Pacific..I am fortunate to have traveled extensively across the Pacific Islands and I really feel it’s the Samoan people and their open hearts and kindness that always draws me back time and again..Do yourself a favor and book a trip to a simpler time in our busy worlds and reset your spirit and be set free..
Overall 7/10
Only a couple of downfalls. Breakfast is from 7:30am to 10:00am we went to breakfast at 9:00am after a big night after the wedding held at the resort however they ran out of donuts and wouldn’t cook anymore donuts it was the only thing I enjoyed most out of the breakfast provided. The first night there was a cockroach I asked to change rooms however they were fully booked out but they provided Mortein spray I’m unsure if it’s the normal to have cockroach when the room is warm because after the aircon was on it was okay and we got use to the place. Overall our stay at the beachfront villa was beautiful. The staff were lovely, it was nice to see they have security late at night on the beach checking on everyone after a great night at a weddding we attended there.
Really enjoyed our 4 nights, beautiful setting,
Excellent customer service from checking-in and right throughout all the services, e.g. chefs, kitchen staff at cabana cafe, rock bar and restaurant. Everyone was very helpful, in particular, Kolio and Mose - a big Fa’amalo! This was our second visit at RTP, and what you read on the website is very true - an amazing place, vibrant, safe environment, and an amazing beach. The string band was amazing, the BEST CULTURAL SHOW IN SAMOA. Oh, and the food is delicious, so as the coffee. Staff always smile, smile! Keep up the excellent work everyone.
RTP is a lovely resort for a holiday or a few days layover. Enjoyed the Fiafia show, maybe the best in the islands. Great snorkelling, crashing waves and a beauriful seascape. All staff are courteous and helpful, friendly and a pleasure to speak with.
PROS - The facility is beautiful - pool area and surroundings. The Pacific Kitchen is such a lovely area and the food and service is the best! The waiters are so attentive and the food is absolutely delicious and of great quality - I had the best steak ever, hands down. CONS - The villa we were in is a bit dated, but it was clean and bathroom was nice a clean and spacious. There was no smart tv and I had to ask for a power plug for the phone (in order to ring room service). Be careful of the beach, it can be a bit treacherous but there are life guards there and staff to look out and alert patrons. When we checked in the porter didn't help with our bags but just showed us to our Villa. Overall we had a lovely stay.
Amazing spot for snorkelling and so much nature around the resort. Unfortunately we had an issue with the airport not getting our luggage to us and many other guests of an Air NZ flight who had requested a shuttle be put on for us to help claim our luggage but this was stated as not an option by the resort. In speaking with others staying in different resorts who were on the same flight, their resorts had provided this extra assistance to help guests claim their luggage. In future to reduce stress on guests and to allow them to enjoy their stay more I would recommend offering this help to increase your hospitality further. Otherwise, restaurant and bar staff were wonderful and the resort provides a great range of dining options. There were also great day tour options provided and I'd recommend taking their tours over hiring a car or using taxis as this covered all costs for the attractions and provided great local knowledge.
Return to Paradise is an amazing resort to stay in when visiting Samoa. The staff are incredibly helpful and nothing is ever too much effort when ensuring you have an enjoyable stay. The resort location is fantastic when it comes to seeing the sights of beautiful Samoa. We originally were staying 3 nights at the resort, but were so impressed that we ended up staying for 5 nights. We have recommended Return to Paradise for our family and friends as accommodation if they travel to Samoa.
Great staff, beautiful grounds, lovely setting, but there was a strong mildew odor in our room and the bathroom caulking had apparent mildew. Also there was a cockroach in our room at one point, and I know how hard it is to combat this in the tropics, but I still didn’t like it.
Two nights at Return to Paradise
We really enjoyed the Fiafia show. The best we've seen. The food was awesome. A lot of Samoan food. The show was awesome. The staff were great. Our Beachfront room was huge. I wasn't expecting a Kitchen. And what a beach!
To start off with the positives, the resort is set in a beautiful location and all the staff I encountered were so lovely and eager to help. What lets it down is the condition/upkeep of the property. The facilities are quite dated and often broken. When I arrived to my room, there was a dirty ash tray left on the balcony (it was there my whole stay), some lights, the safe and the TV weren't working. There were no towels and when I did get some I had to ask for new ones each day as the bathroom floor flooded every time I had a shower. You resort has potential and the staff really are trying. More effort needs to be put into the maintenance to justify the resort pricing.
We thourougly enjoyed our stay. Lovely location, great tour options and above all amazing staff.
Service with a smile
Staff was awesome. Attentive and accommodating, always ready to assist and help whenever called upon. Service with a smile every day.
Beaches and staff were very good
The property is fairly dated but the staff are lovely. Food options are good some times and terrible at other times, so hit and miss, breakfast is truly terrible even if you do pay the extra for a hot breakfast. They charge a lot and don't quite give you your money's worth, get used to hearing either 'its broken" or "we've run out of that" for even the most basic necessities. I would have been more forgiving if they didn't charge you 5 star prices
Never again
I will never ever stay there again even if they let me stay for free. I would rather sleep under a coconut tree
We had an amazing break away with our 2 Grandsons. Martha, Raz and the team made us feel like Whanau. The resort itself is in the most beautiful spot , the beach was amazing, with beautiful clear water. Staff were helpful and friendly and the Fia Fia night is a must to attend, very talented young people. Thank you so much for having us and helping us make wonderful memories with our Mokos, much love ❤️
Lack of information: We didn't know that we had to rebook for the fiafia night and for lunch on Sunday. I regard this as one of the most important things that should be verbally relayed to the guests as they check in. If it's written somewhere, I didn't see it. There were a few people sitting around Sunday afternoon waiting for lunch, only to be told (when asked what time lunch was), that we had to book for the lunch, otherwise order burgers etc.. Room presentation: The room that we stayed in was very clean and has a beautiful view of the ocean. Had everything that we needed. Big bathroom, clean. Has a Nice deck where you can sit and relax and soak in the beautiful view and watch the sunrise. Distance from main facilities: A bit of walking to do and a few steps to climb to the dining hall, swimming pools etc, so only for the fit people and young at hearts, not recommend for the disabled people, unless you have assistant at all time. Fiafia night: The fiafia night on Saturday night was a disappointment. I expected real Samoan food but the buffet was Chinese food. The show was mainly singing of English songs. I was expecting some Samoan dances etc. I paid $85ST, I didn't eat, and didn't watch the rest of the show. Food Quality: The fries are terrible and small for the price charged. Cold and dry, hard when served. The same with burgers, very pricey, but also small and served cold. We ordered beef burgers but served with chicken burgers.
Loved our stay! Staff were really good. The room we stayed in was very spacious and clean, and the balcony view was amazing. Would definitely stay there again!
We loved our stay at the Return to Paradise Resort. The grounds are beautifully kept. Walking around is so peaceful with the gardens and the beach is fantastic. I cannot imagine a more perfect beach anywhere. The staff were all so friendly and eager to help. We arrived in the middle of the night and reception was there ready to greet us and had us in our room quickly. Our room was clean and spacious enough for our family of 5. We enjoyed their fun Fia Fia night, the entertainment and food were great! We also did the giant clam and turtle tour. It was a fun experience. We met a lot of people who travel to this resort every year and we will definitely go back there when we visit Samoa again.
The staff are wonderful. However if the hotel wants a 5 star rating there are things that need improving. There is a lack of communication between reception and the soa. 3 people booked in at the same time. Not a good look. Our room was smelly on our arrival , a torn bed cover and a bedside light not working. Trips from the hotel were VERY expensive 400 tala each for a trip to apia and a taxi was $80 . Food was also expensive $36 nz fir a tiasted sandwhich and chips. The grounds and swimming pools are lovely. They were very clean and well kept. The bathoom in our room had a lot of mold. The room and bathroom were very spacious. All in all a good place to relax but dont expect true 5star.
The staff were great, the resort was great too. I just found that our room was quite a distance from the reception and eating areas. There was no cover from rain or sun when having to walk to our room - it would be good to give a heads up about this. Also our room was missing a phone, so we couldn't communicate with reception, other than walking there. Room was well equipped and perfect for our family needs.
We have a 5 great days, it was like living in family. Great beach with lots of sunshine and shade. Excellent service, great food and very friendly staff. Lots of activities. We will definitely back again.
One of the best snorkelling spots in Samoa with a beautiful beach with black lava rock and ceashing waves. Only improvement needed is in the quality of the food.
Service is very slow, we complained about aircon not working in our room the whole time. Breakfast they just lay it out and leave it out in the open for flies noone standing there to monitor or check in on guests if they need anything unless its asking to pay for additional things. Guests havifng to approach them to leg them know food is running low and dor refill. Pool towels no instructions on how to get them no phones in room to call front desk
Being locally family-owned meant everyone formed a great team and all invited helpful critiques to improve service.
Absolutely amazing
The staff at Return to Paradise are the jewel in the Lafuga village and are the loveliest people on the planet, always having a smile for you. They are welcoming, friendly and will help you with anything at all, often going out of their way to do so. My only areas for review would be the speed of food service (especially room service) and the room cleaners who did not clean the room the same way twice. The only thing I was actually disappointed in was that our sheets were not changed at all, even though we stayed for 10 days. Saying that though, I’m sure that if we had asked, it would’ve been done with a smile. We will definitely be visiting again.
Beautiful location with beach. Very tidy and clean, staff are polite and professional. Menu options are limited, more like pub food options than a resort, food was bland. Often a long wait for food and drinks. Overall good spot if you want to getaway and disconnect
We loved the friendly staff with their smiles and helpfulness. The coral reef was a step or 2 down the beach from the resort and teemed with colourful fish.
Beautiful place, friendly staff.
A lovely beach setting, but somewhat tired looking resort. Staff were friendly & plentiful, but lacking in food & beverage training. The breakfast buffet was very limited & aimed more at children. Espresso coffee was an extra charge & of very poor quality. One nice “extra” breakfast item was provided each day free of charge, but hot breakfast items were an extra charge. Drink/cocktail standards were poor. Airport transfer was very good, but we wished we had rented a car.
Excellent customer service from all staff. I’ve stayed in most resorts/hotels in Samoa and this is the best resort so far. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the surroundings are clean and beautiful; the food is delicious (my favourite is the oka/raw fish), and the feel of the place is very peaceful and spiritually protected.
Return to Paradise is just that! The location is stunning with views wherever you look. It is worth paying extra for a beach view. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff-unfailingly friendly and helpful, they take the trouble to get to know you personally. The cultural show is a must! After nearly three years of lockdown, some surface decoration wouldn’t go amiss but this is a very minor negative. Take some insect repellant! The mossies will get you if they like you! It was one of our best holidays ever! Truly relaxing! Not advisable for anyone wanting shopping or local restaurants. Would we go again?- in a heartbeat!
