Not bad for a hostel!

Great reception and warm hospitality. No lifts, only (super uneven) steps. You need to carry up extra supplies on your own from the first floor if you need extras. Rooms are not cleaned unless requested. It helps to have the balcony if you're not travelling alone. Overall, if you're a minimalist, you'd be content. (:

Excellent!

This was my second time at Rachana, and I'd definitely come back. Big beds, clean rooms, excellent Wi-Fi and air-con, and the price is excellent for Phnom Penh. I don't think you'd find better value in the area. Also, Simas and Sofina at the front desk are always smiling and willing to help! Highly recommend.

Recommend!

I stayed at Rachana for 7 nights and enjoyed it. Nothing fancy, but a big comfortable bed, hot shower, good WiFi, TV, air-con and rooftop bar were all nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area is full of restaurants and bars. Many historical sites just a short walk away. For the price, I'd definitely stay here again!

Noisy bar on top of our room means no sleep before 2 am

Updated Hotel, downtown, but very noisy!

We stayed here for 2 nights and each night there were kids screaming up and down the stairs. We were woken up around 5am by a wedding that took place in the street. There was yelling and music blasting through a megaphone, it was so loud even my ear plugs couldn’t drown it out. It’s modern and updated so I will give it that but the walls are paper thin. I was just ready to leave before it was time to check out. We would have rather sat at the airport for hours than listen to the amount of loud noise. And I’m not a picky person! There are a ton of better places to stay in Phnom, I probably won’t stay here again.

amazing staff

The room is great but the neighbourhood is busy and noisy so be prepared. The two girls who work on reception are amazing!

Our stay here was good considering the cheap price - the staff were very friendly, it was in a good central location and the room was spacious and clean. The room was very noisy at night as it is located on a busy intersection and the bed was very hard in some places.

Nice, clean hostel, close to places of interest

The hostel itself is very basic as far as amenities go, however we did appreciate the early check-in they gave us, for no extra charge. We arrived around 6AM in Phnom Penh and were beat, having traveled via bus from Siem Reap, so it was great that they had the room ready and allowed us to go and rest. The location is definitely one of the main bonuses of this hostel, with most places of interest within a walking distance, and a variety of bars and restaurants right on the doorstep. The room itself was quite basic, with a bit of an industrial (unfinished?) feel to the decor, but there was free wifi, the aircon was working, the sheets were clean, and the bathroom had hot water, so it ticked the main boxes for my partner and I.

Location was good as eateries were just along the street.

If You Don't Care Where You Sleep

Wifi is super important for me as I am working while traveling, and it was slow here. The door and windows are super thin and you can hear all of the traffic, people yelling, animals, etc. It is located on a busy corner, with bars and restaurants lining all streets. The bathroom was the worst part of the place. It was dank and humid, had harsh lighting and it felt hollow and make-shift. The second floor is underneath the rooftop area where they serve breakfast and drinks at night. You can hear the stools being dragged around and loud footfalls.FYI - They also close the main gate around midnight and the overnight attendant sleeps in the "lobby." You have to wake him to ask to leave and knock the gate hard enough to wake him up to let you back in.

First time staying in Phnom Penh and loved this hostel! Alreadyy booked a room for next weekend

The hotel fitted with what I needed : cost effective, personal correct and nice for this range of price.

A good place for a quick stay

The room was good, the roof top bar and restaurant was lovely! Unfortunately they were unable to do breakfast but gave us some money back, which was great.

Excellent stay!

The stay was excellent as l got a special rate from hotels.com for three nights. However the steps of the staircase is unusually steep and poses a problem for guests with heavy and large luggages or backpacks. There is no lift as it is only three storeys. The room l stayed in was located at the top floor just below the lounge and there was a lot of furniture movements sound especially at the time the lounge closes and during early morning when breakfasts was served as guests will dragged their chairs and the sound of dragging can be so noisy that it sort of vibrates the room itself. The other is that there was no kettle or cups and spoons to make hot drinks and you have to get them feom reception which may not be available to all guests as these arr not provided for. The wifi is excellent and stable, the bed was superb and i got a balcony with table and lazy chairs to watch the movements on the streets. There are a lot of tour agencies around, eateries and a short 200m walk to Central Market and 500m to river front where the daily night market is.

Basic hostel in reasonable location

I found the staff at check in to be quite difficult and not much help. My room was up 4 very steep flights of stairs and the person showing me the way did not wait or help me with my bags but then waited for a tip (which I didn't give). The rooms are quite basic with concrete floors and bathroom & shower in one with no curtain or screen. The room was clean however, and there were no bugs! Location was decent, close to the museum and a short walk from the riverside. Also, lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Overall, an ok stay but nothing to rave about.

Not sure if my bedroom is complete or it's part of the decor. There's wire hanging and pipes. It has a gray paint. Room is comfortable. No elevator

Good location and a nice place to stay for the price

Great stay. Only problem was that the bathroom door wouldn't shut properly so we used the bin to keep it from opening.

A gem!

Had a great stay at Rachana, and would very happily stay again! Excellent location, fab service and right in front of a Buddhist monastery which you can see perfectly from the great little rooftop bar and restaurant! Highly recommended!

Room was comfortable and large as was the bed. Basic but good value for the room rate. Staff are very friendly and location is good for nearby food and drinks.

The best find!

This has been my favorite low cost hotel in Southeast Asia! The staff is super friendly, and hotel is really great looking. I loved the chill rooftop bar where I spent a lot of time relaxing, reading, working, and having beers. The rooms are modern looking, and beds were very comfortable

Good alround

Newish hotel, rooms seems half complete but are clean amd tidy. Good wifi. We need not try the roof top bar but looked okay. Stagf friendly and help, great location for nightlife and food .. Many sights in walking distance

Finish the hotel before having people stay!

Lovely hotel entrance and roof top bar but the room seemed half finished. There was a picture propped up on a table and bare plaster walls. The bed and pillows were comfortable but the bathroom had a pipe which leaked and left the bathroom with a horrific stench unless washed away regularly. A shame that our stay was tainted because the hotel has the potential to be lovely.

Backpackers at Rachana hostel

We stayed at Rachana Hostel on our backpacking trip. The hostel staff were so friendly, super smiley and would do everything they could to ensure that you had a pleasant stay. Nice roof top bar with a view and very close to restaurants and central market just a short tuk tuk ride away.

Great, suitable for backpackers

The room quiet small but enough for 4 of us, has a table but no closet. The staff is really friendly and hospitality, they meet our require very quickly. Only one thing we are not satisfied with is the wifi connection.

Cheap and cheerful. Can't complain for the price, located in a good area near some sights. We stayed in a private room which was nice.

No Elevator, AC had no remote control

There's no elevator, so you have to walk some stairs and the AC unit did not have a remote, so they had to climb a chair to manually turn it on. I had the biggest room with two beds. Big enough for 4 people to sleep.

Sauberes Hotel an einer lauten Strasse......

Das Hotel ist soweit sauber und gepflegt. Der Nachteil ist die laute Strasse in der Front des Hotels. Diese ist die ganze Nacht über sehr laut und im Zimmer sehr gut zu hören. Aber das Hotel ist günstig. Das Hotel hat zum Glück eine Coole Rooftop Bar welche gute drinks hat.

Удобно расположенный отель, в пешей доступности от основных достопримечательностей. Достаточно большой чистый номер, горячая вода есть. Хороший позитивный персонал. Можно заказать экскурсию в достопримечательности (брал на растрельные поля) и билеты на международный автобус (ехал спипербасомв СиемРеп). На поездки забирают прямо из отеля.

I enjoy the time in Rachana hostel. Staff are really friendly. The room is clean. Very nicw hostel.

Hôtel bien situé

Belle terrasse sur le toit. Chambre très propre et grande, telle que décrite lors de la réservation. Personnel charmant. Bien situé, près des principaux attraits et pleins de restaurants dans les rues avoisinantes. Par contre, odeur de moisissure dans la salle de bain et eau pas très chaude.

Kleines, einfaches, aber sauberes Hotel mit freundlicher Bedienung. Geeignet für 1 bis 2 günstigen Übernachtungen.

No se puede descansar. Muy ruidoso

Muy ruidoso. Habitacion sin ducha ( con un telefonillo ) sin jabon, pequeña, no hace justicia a las fotos que ponen en internet. Tsmpoco habia nevera en la habitacion ( necesario con el calor)

배수관이 터짐

가격이 저렴한만큼 값어치를 합니다. 다음에 기회가 생긴다면 비용을 더 투자해서 좋은곳에서 묵을 것 같습니다. 배수관이 터져서 하수관으로 부터 먼지덩어리 모양의 냄새나는 찌꺼기가 넘쳤는데 불쾌했습니다.

Ottima posizione

L'ostello è in un'ottima posizione per visitare le principali attrazioni della città alcune distanti solo 5 minuti a piedi. Si presenta in modo molto carino con un rooftop proprio grazioso con un piccolo bar che, al momento, serve solo drink e poca scelta di cibo solo per la sera (a colazione e pranzo era sempre chiuso). Il personale è gentile e disponibile. Possibilità di un free transport per l'aeroporto. Le camere erano carine e pulite ma con un forte odore di umido. La mancanza dell'aria condizionata e la presenza solo di un ventilatore (tra l'altro rotto perché non girava più :( ) non hanno fatto in modo di poter risolvere almeno in parte questo problema. Purtroppo tramite Expedia avevamo anche prenotato una stanza che, in teoria, doveva avere colazione inclusa e welcome drink. Purtroppo tutto questo non era previsto e quando lo abbiamo fatto notare ci è stato detto che ci avrebbero rimborsato 5$ al giorno per la colazione ma, purtroppo, non li abbiamo mai visti! Questo aspetto mi ha fatto abbassare ovviamente tutti i giudizi in merito all'ostello che comunque ha un grosso potenziale ma c'è ancora un po' di strada da fare....

It's great of clean and location. but state of facilities wasn't under control. That's why i couldn't give good grade than other accommodations.

Nothing close to the photos posted

I was at Phnom Penh for 3 days. We arrived a bit early and was told that we have to wait until 12pm for check in, which was fairly reasonable. However, we were made to wait for another 45 minutes after 12. The room looks nothing like what's shown here on the site. No lift and stairs was steep. There is a rooftop bar on the top floor and anyone can have access to the corridors to where the rooms are located. Everything is VERY basic and the water drainage system for shower does not work very well. Could have had a better experience with just a bit of extra money.

The room is so horrible, do not prefer to choose the room with no view, no window. It really like a prision.

Cobran 5 dólares por el ac. Los desagües no funcionan. aunque por 10 dólares la habitación doble sin considerar esos problemas tampoco estaría tan mal.
