Best you can get
Great stay at Pullman would highly reccomend staying in not just this hotel but in this area (Wulingyuan) if ur looking to go to the Avatar Mountains as it was only a 3min drive to the cable car station costing 70p. Eating was was quite expensive... we ordered two mains one starter and an alcoholic drink which came up to £58. Staff are really friendly. Breakfast was in a massive hall in next to Lobby which had a rotating buffet everyday and a western + very chinese option, the hall had carpeting instead of normal flooring which was a bit off putting as it had many stains but was still worth it as it was the best breakfast u were going to get.
Nice and confortable stay. Greater location.
The staff are also friendly and helpful
This is a very nice hotel with a great breakfast buffet, but it’s best feature is its location, within walking distance of the East Entrance of the Zhangjiajie Forest Park.
Location to park is good - 20 minute walk to the gate. However hotel is old and tired and needs updating and refurbishing. Restaurant menu is very limited and food w a s mediocre and a little oily. Breakfast is not very good - plenty of choice but if a poor quality.
I think Zhangjiajie Pullman resort is the most conveniently located resort in Wulingyuan village
Thank god for Bob!
Tired hotel held together by some great service, Bob is an absolute star and some others try very hard. Cost cutting measures were reflected in the lack of a club lounge, non existent pool boy, poor quality food and poorly maintained facilities. Hopefully an upturn in visitors will lead to some reinvestment and a pay rise for Bob and we will get to see the old dame less lame.
Go to Crowne
We got food poisoning from the hotel food. Room was small and not very clean. The ac was turned off so we had to open windows and get bitten by bugs all night. Terrible experience in a beautiful place!
Worth the price
It’s a nice hotel, past it’s prime for sure, but for the price your paying it’s still great. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff could have been more helpful, I guess they can’t all speak English so a lot of the time they would keep their head down at reception or allow several Chinese customers to push in front of me as they do. Management could speak English and were always helpful. But please inform your staff to at least acknowledge customers and ask them to wait a moment. Pool area was pretty, but there were no towels available and the changing rooms weren’t great.
the hotel is amazing. All is perfect except there is trouble in the first night that somebody drunk n smoking outside my room. The smoke is going inside my room
Zhangjiajie
Good location, nice staff, good breakfast
Nice hotel close to the park
Good location, friendly staff, nice breakfast and room size was good.
Highly recommended
We a family of 3 including a young child stayed this hotel for 3 nights last week. The bed is very impressive 2.7m wide which suit us very well. The front services are very helpful. The breakfast is considered to be quite good comparing with many other hotels in China especially the varieties and taste of breads. Location wise it is just 10 minutes walking away to bus terminal and hotel provide shuttle service to the entrance of ZJJ National Forest Park in the morning. Though the building is a bit old and the bed is a bit soft (to my standard), I highly recommend recommend this hotel.
The Bob staff person was helpful. Everyone else there is useless. Smoking everywhere, needs renovation.
Quiet and peaceful location
The hotel is in a great location, easy walking distance into Wulingyuan and easy access to Zhangjiajie national park and Tianmen mountain. We visited both and they were well worth it. The staff were helpful, although it was disappointing that our room was not ready on arrival at 3:30pm the day we checked in. However, we were able to grab a late lunch in one of the restaurants while we waited. The pool was great, as were the massage facilities located very close by to the pool. The breakfast selection was wide and varied and so delicious. The bed in our king room was enormous!! It is basically two queens put together and could easily have slept 5 people!! The room was always clean and the bathroom was great, with loads of amenities. The room service was also handy. We would definitely stay here again.
recommend to stay
very convenient place. clean and comfortable, biggest bed size ever.
Top class hotel
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. The service was excellent. The rooms spacious and well equipped. The location is superb. We enjoyed delicious food both in the lounge/restaurant and in the buffet dinner.
The location is great, you get a pressure washer for a shower, rooms are big, clean, WiFi is fast, beds could be a little more padded though.
Great stay
My stay was great. I had nothing to complain about, except maybe the quite-mundane room design with no outstanding feature/decoration piece. The wifi was decent but I have had better one at other Pullman.
Close to the park
It is good stay, close to park entrance. Good english speaking staffs.
A clean and comfortable hotel
The hotel age showed but still reasonably well maintained. The bed is on the hard side and should have used pocket spring mattress. The breakfast variety is fine but the sunny side up can be done better. The waffles were not topped up when finished. The front desk staffs were helpful and offer good travel tips.
Very happy with this hotel and price that we paid. The hotel concierge was extremely helpful in giving us information since we were doing this trip exploring Zhangjiajie on our own without joining a tour. I would recommend this hotel.
It's excellent experience for us, we would like to stay at the hotel again next time. The Indian Manager is great help. Frank (Mr Yang ) introduced a tour guide for us for the first day, very necessary for us. Nothing negative that we can think of.
Big hotel near the main park entrance
Very large hotel just a short walk away from the main entrance of the national park and the bus station. The room was big and the bed comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also big, but many foods not really nice. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. In total (not knowing the alternatives nearby) I would recommend this hotel.
We had a wonderful stay.
Great staff, good breakf buffet, best hotel in Zh
Checkin was quick. Spacious room and bathroom. Ok wifi. Breakfast buffet with lots of options. Convenient ATM and convenience store in the lobby. The reception managers were all lovely and friendly, quickly attending to our needs. You can arrange a taxi to the airport for 260 yuan through them. Hotel pool full of children but they don't venture to the loop behind the bridge so you can have that space to yourself. They need a poolside bar. Many restos in town, within walking distance to the hotel. This is the most convenient hotel to stay in because you can walk to the gate of the park (turn left, cross bridge, then follow crowds). I suggest going to the park in the afternoon after 3 pm. It's just too overrun by huge crowds in buses in the morning. You can also walk to the Baofeng Lake from the hotel.
The staff were outstanding. Guest Service Manager was wonderful. The only suggestion was at times the beer was warm. I know in China and Hong Kong many people like warm liquids, but having a good supply of cold beverages would be a plus. All in all a great time.
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful park!!!!! I highly recommend staying there!!!!!
Lovely hotel! We enjoyed our stay. Our children especially loved the pool!
Nice hotel v close to ZJJ National Forest
Nice hotel, friendly staff and service. V near to ZJJ National Forest and the Pedestrian street. Hence v convenient.
Nice hotel to stay
Nice stay there. The service is great.
Excellent.
Excellent location for Zhangjiajie park. Lovely room. Huge bed - listed as king size but huge. Superb service. Surely the best hotel near entrance to the park?
10 minutes walk from Mountains Park Entrance
Next door from The Best Show in China! Best Stuff! Best manager!
Grand hotel
This is a wonderful hotel, but for a hotel where there are many international guests, the level of English speaking and understanding could be improved. Overall though, a great stay!
Excellent hotel
I loved the Pullman hotel in Zhangjiajie. It is just minutes away from the national park and approx. an hour away from the airport. It makes a perfect base for exploring the park if you shift there straight from the airport. I drove to the park through a tourguide and driver, but im pretty sure you could walk there in a few minutes... just follow the crowd! The park opens at 7am. My room was massive, I booked a large double bedroom because it was the cheapest, and the bed was absolutely massive!. The room itself was luxurious, it had a really nice bathroom, comfortable bed and seating area. I wish i could just spend longer in the hotel. The bathroom had a seperate bathtub which could overlook the room, seperate shower, toilet and sink. The room came with all the amenities i.e. showergel, shampoo, hairdryer, tv, bathrobe, slippers, towels etc. I didnt use the pool but i could see it from my room and it looked really nice. The staff are polite and welcoming and can speak english. Apart from one quite rude staff member at breakfast time, tried to pull my room key from me as i was getting it out for her anyway so that she could put on the breakfast charges. I didnt have breakfast included and paid 129RMB for it. The breakfast itself was extensive, it had a large variety of local and western food which I was pleased about.
Great hotel!
It exceeded my expectations! Great hotel - clean and spacious room, comfortable bed and linens. I would stay there if going to Zhangjiajie again! And it is within easy walking distance to the "forest park" - we had a car which really was not necessary.
Not as expected
We went during low season and the hotel was simply not as expected, to the Pullman standards. Staff in general were helpful but English speaking staff was quite lacking. Food quality was lower than expected as well.
10mins walk to ZJJ forest or bus station
As we don’t want to take a chance, this is the only brand that we know within walking distance to the ZJJ forest park. Anyway we are happy with our choices. Location is indeed close about 10mins walking to both forest park and bus station. Room is quite clean. Breakfast offer a wide variety and every morning around 7.00am, it is full with other patrons although the room might have around 70 tables. Perhaps it is a sign the hotel quite popular with both local and foreign tourists :). Definitely will stay there again if we have opportunity to visit Zhangjiajie again in future.
Wonderful Hotel
Best hotel in the area. Great gym and pool (during summer months). Amazing staff. Vladamir was awesome and very helpful during our entire stay. Close to the park and everything else in town. Highly recommend.
Excellent Stay...Close to Everything!
Great hotel that is a short walk to downtown and to the entrance of the park. Pool, nice gym, restaurants and more. Staff was awesome. Vladamir was a huge help in where to go and what to do. An excellent staff member!
Great stay with attentive staff for the most part.
This hotel is the pinnacle of what you will get in this area, but keep in mind that this area is still a developing country. So, yes, it is a 5 star hotel for this area but a 4 star in most any other area. The staff is generally attentive but few speak English if that is an issue for you. Vladimir is incredible and without him, this hotel wouldn't run at all. He is always there and always willing and able to help. Truly, amazing!!! The breakfast is good and rooms are comfortable. Spa is OK. Location is great as well!
Western outpost in Zhangjiajie
It's a solid Western hotel in a decidedly Chinese tourist area. It's nice, but getting worn. Not cheap. Breakfast buffet is decent and fairly priced when bought in advance (and needed before a long day of walking). Room was great, but again getting a little worn.
It was great. I liked it very much. I would stay here again if I go to Zhangjiajie.
Convenient and up to Western standards
The Pullman ZJJ is conveninetly located a 5 minute drive from the park entrance. Rooms and restuarants are pleasant with all modern amenities. The spa is also reasonably outfitted although no staff there speak English. Get the reception to communicate with them.
Quite dated but ok
The hotel is quite old. We checked in quite late and the reception thought we were part of a group, when we approached them to check in the lady said wait. We moved aside from the group and it was not until a duty manager type person came along and told the lady to,check us in. She was not serving just loading on a computer, maybe night auditor.....not much English but that was OK, she said they did not except Amex but they did so changed this later. Hotel was old but more than adequate, restaurant staff were good and the guy who was called on number five was good but others were not very friendly at all, it's a shame as it is not a bad hotel.
The hotel was really good in all aspects. Everything in good condition and clean. Staff are really friendly and provided very useful info for our trip. Really nice experience!! Special thanks to Helen and Leo for their hospitality! Well done!!
Could not have asked for a better stay at Zhangiajie. It is a perfect place to explore the area, it is centrally located and the staff and the morning breakfast is just perfect!
Great hotel close to zjj national park.
Excellent hotel close to zjj national park. You can walk to the entrance from the hotel. Tianmen mountain park is closer to zjj city so we took a local bus to visit there. The bus station is a short walk too. The hotel was very helpful in planning our trips to the parks since we only had 2 days. Vladimir spoke great English and he was especially helpful. The breakfast deal seemed a little strange. They tried to sell us on a discounted rate if we took breakfast all 3 mornings. Either way it was outside our budget, unfortunately. Would definitely recommend the hotel to others visiting the area.
5 stars , expensive but worth it.
stayed 3 nights and i would give it 5 stars. breakfast was good.
Lovely Hotel
Pullman Zhangjiajie is a lovely hotel in this beautiful town. Close to the national park ( walking distance) and to the local shops and restaurants , with lovely facilities, spacious rooms, varied breakfast, extremely helpful and professional staff and great value for money. What more could i ask for!!! and a special shout out to Vladamir, the people relations manager. What a fantastic asset to a hotel in China. Vladamir could not have been more helpful, and went out of his way to answer all our questions and make us feel comfortable.
One complaint
Food was not good in the hotel. I tried few item.
Good place to stay for visiting Zhangjiajie
The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet and evening meals were good on the whole but on the pricey side.Sometimes the food wasn't hot enough. Staff were pleasant and helpful. They ordered taxis for us and decided the prices. Taxis didn't seem to be on a meter as they are elsewhere in China.
Disappointment On The Hotel Quality
We have check-in late about 7:00 pm but unfortunately the room was not ready and the reason given was the customer still not check-out yet. The hotel staff agreed to upgrade us to the executive floor but unfortunately is not the non-smoking room. We have not choice but to accept it caused due to long hours travelling we need to rest immediately. Overall, the hotel is old. The staff at the restaurant is not friendly, the services and cleanness of the restaurant were not up to marks. We stay there for 3 nights and every day we having the same breakfast! Conclusion, not value for money!
Holiday get away!
This hotel is nice n clean . The only disappointment is from the room to the lobby need to pass by an open area that during these cold weather is not quite pleasant.
Enjoyable Hotel
We spent 4 nights and enjoyed nice facility, good help from the staff members. Room was very clean, bur not many drawers to put shirts etc. Bathroom was very nice! We enjoyed this the most.
Great hotel close to the entrance to the park
This hotel is probably one of the best in Wulingyuan. Our room was very clean and comfortable with a balcony! The hotel is within walking distance to the National Park entrance. It's also close to the main street with all the restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel is very good and affordable. There were many selections including western styled foods and Chinese styled foods. We had a room with an extra large king-size bed, which we inadvertently booked. The room was very nice (bathroom was beautiful and comfortable), but the bed was clearly 2 full-size beds pieced together. There was a seam in the middle that was uncomfortable to sleep on. I think the bed was unnecessarily large. A regular king would have sufficed. One thing to note is that if you fly into Zhangjiajie City, be sure to contact the hotel in advance and arrange for them to pick you up. Otherwise you will be harassed by cab drivers outside the airport. Wulingyuan is in a different district than Zhangjiajie and many cabbies don't want to drive there and will demand an exorbitant amount of money. The drive from the airport to the hotel is probably 45 min over mountainous roads.
Nice hotel in the area but could be a better!
I am a western traveler. (100+ countries) and stayed here while trekking Zhangjiajie... it was a nice hotel, clean, nice facilities but the staff could be better and more accommodating to western travellers. Hardly anyone spoke English and the bartenders were amateur. I had to leave early to catch a flight to Shanghai and the hotel refused to refund me for my last night and on top of that charged for the next mornings breakfast as well. That being said, I would stay here again if I decided to check out the National park as it is the nicest big chain hotel in the area.
Consider wisely
The location is near to one of the entrances to the National Forest Park but it may not be a valid consideration if you have own arranged transportation to the attractions. The soundproofing was rather bad and you could hear guests singing from the ground floor (in the entertainment room) when I stayed on the 6th floor. The double layer of curtain was so thin that the sun shines in and the heat wakes you up as early as 6am.
Good place to stay when in Zhangjiajie
Good room, hotel could do with More Western items on the room service menu, such as pizza and pasta. Service is excellent. Breakfast buffet is a mayhem, could do with faster replenishment of plates/bowls/food. Great location, walking distance from one of the forest park entrances.
Excellent International Hotel in Zhangjiajie
Just had a wonderful 3 day stay at the Pullman Zhangjiajie Hotel, which is located about 15 - 20 minutes walk from one of the national park entrances. The hotel itself is a beautiful international standard hotel. We stayed in a double bed room that was quite big and very well appointed. The bathroom was spotless and filled all necessary sundries, including luxurious bath towels. We had breakfast (free) and dinner at the hotel everyday. Both were good, although dinner can be quite expensive. The hotel staff were wonderful, professional and always willing to help to ensure our comfort and safety within and outside the hotel. They provided directions and facilitated our tours of the area. Communication with people in the hotel and in the area can be difficult because most people there do not speak English, but the hotel had an English speaking staff available to assist with communication so that any issue or problem we had was resolved very quickly. A big thank you the hotel staff including, Jessie, Maria, Martin, Alisa, Sherry, Leo and all others who made our stay enjoyable and fun.
Rooms were clean, restaurant so-so
I booked a luxury king bed room on the non-smoking floor, with specific notes when I booked. They were out of it when I got there, so I was put in a standard twin room on a non-smoking floor. They tried to talk me into staying in the twin room for the rest of my trip, and I told them if I wanted a standard room, I would have booked one which had lower price. Then they tried to give me a fruit plate, which I refused. I want the refund for the difference. Then they gave me a coupon for foot message. I did not feel like doing any more talking so I took it. The people at the front desk still do not understand what a 4.5 star hotel service should be, which was sad. It was a hassle to get my luggage out in the AM and move to the room later. I was there to enjoy scenery, not staying in the hotel. Both the standard twin room and the luxury rooms were clean, and rooms were large and comfortable.
The only decent hotel in Zhangjiajie
Hotel seems out of place in the city. The grounds are nice and well kept but surrounded by construction zones. Two dining options available inside the hotel, including what might be the only place to get western food within a 20 minute walking radius. The room was on par with other international chains, except the beds in the double room are full size beds vs queens in other hotel chains. Pros: priced right for what you get, decent western food, decent chinese food, nice hotel grounds. All amenities expected of an international chain. Cons: checkout process takes > 20 mins (they send someone to check the room), masseuse asked for tips (Not common in China), bar staff asked for tips (again not common in China), got stopped for taking a banana out of breakfast, no executive lounge, staff has trouble with English (this was expected), Chinese restaurant forgot a few of the dishes we ordered
Excellent, 5 star hotel, unappealing breakfast
We loved almost everything about the Pullman in Wulingyuan. The grounds and the room were immaculate. The beds were comfortable and the service was spectacular. Concierges were available for advice and gave good recommendations (but none of them spoke English, so that might be an issue if you don't speak Chinese). We did order an extra bed for our son in our room, which I thought was pricey. It came with one breakfast, which we didn't want. We weren't allowed to have just the bed without the breakfast, and we weren't allowed to collect the breakfasts and use them together on a separate day, which we were allowed to do in other hotels. If we missed it (which we did twice), we couldn't get them on another day so one of us had to go alone to eat every morning. If I had one complaint, it would be the food options at breakfast. They were not good for the western palate, and although I love Chinese breakfast, the Chinese choices were greasy, strange, unappealing and EXPENSIVE. My opinion. I would definitely not pay for the breakfast unless I had to. Otherwise, would highly recommend the Pullman.
Weekend Getaway
-Better than expected -Staff was very polite and always smiling -Although expensive, the hotel food was great -Breakfast was excellent, always packed -Don't speak Mandarin? No problem, staff speak good English -Complete hotel facilities, has a nice gym which I used and a large pool that I'm sure is at capacity when it's summer
Great Stay in ZJJ
This is a great hotel to visit ZJJ. Close to the park entrance and right beside a good theatre for evening show. Did not have itinerary for the park so asked Mark at front desk and he gave great suggestions. Also reserved car for us to travel to the airport for early flight. Ate at both of the restaurants and service was good. Chinese restaurant allowed us to order in advance and when we arrived served us at our table. Have nice pool, but it was too cold to swim. Also have KTV for those that like to sing. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting ZJJ.
Walking Distance to the Park (ZJJ).
Based on my very cursory review of the immediate area, the Pullman was best English friendly hotel in the Wulingyuan area. The breakfast buffet was solid. The wifi was responsive and fast. The entire hotel staff was awesome! I loved my stay there. I have one story to share. It was raining on the day of my departure. Since I was traveling alone, I wanted to take the local bus (45-60 minute ride/$12 RMB) back to the stop closest to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport. I asked the hotel staff in English to point me to where the bus stop was. Rather than point out the stop for me, one gentleman pulled an umbrella, escorted me to the bus stop (essentially right in front of the hotel), waited with me in the rain for the bus, and told the bus driver (in Mandarin) where he needed to stop for me. That's excellent service. 5 star effort there.
bring your own fan
Lovely hotel only spoilt by bedroom temperatures of 33deg Celsius, they had turned the air-conditioning off as it was autumn!!! Great location to visit the attractions in Zhangjiajie , very good food a bit pricey.
Terrific hotel
Excellent location, walking distance to all major tourist sites in Wulingyuan. Would come back again.
Probably the best hotel at Zhangjiajie.
Outstanding service
Never have we experienced such friendly and helpful service, from the General Manager who obtain excellent tickets to a traditional theatre show at hotel discount price, to the restaurant staff who gave good advice on the local dishes we were sampling, to the very knowledgeable concierge of local attractions and costs, to the ever smiling and friendly reception staff and to the patient and obliging cleaners of our room. We attempted to speak in Chinese but it wasn't needed, many of the staff had very good English. We highly recommend this hotel to any traveller weather single or with family and children, everyone is catered for, a very big thank you to everyone at the Pullman.
Easy Walk to NationalPark but Food is hard to Find
Hotel amenities and especially the pool were great! Western food fare is available in the hotel but on the pricey side even for China. There is a convenient store with soda for 6 CNY and packaged foods - Go left out of hotel and left towards the National Park (on the right side of the road). But I wouldn't eat any local restaurant food. Bring packaged snacks into the National Park - the food on top is greasy, and I wouldn't consider safe given the sewage situation. The hotel can arrange a "rafting trip" and sightseeing south of the park. It's a long ride through back roads, but you do get to see the sights of how the local people live. And the canyon walk is spectacular. I would recommend staying here, but bring some of your own packaged food, and be prepared to spend a lot for the sightseeing. The National Park ticket is good for 3 days - I wish we had known that earlier. The Mountains are breathtaking and a once in a lifetime experience.
Great service and location
The staff was very friendly, the location is great to explore the national parks, the food is good. At the time we were there there was staff from France very helpful.
Great location
Good hotel at a great location. Not sure if it's a 4-star hotel by international standards, but certainly much better than vast majority of Chinese hotels. Only negative is - don't let the hotel staff book taxis for you. They don't tell you this, but they take a big cut of the fare and pass the extra cost onto you. You're much better off hailing a taxi from the street, which is very easy to do.
Nice luxurious experience
Really good stay. Loved it overall. Wish I could stay there one more night but i t wasn't available. The first day we had a problem about the bath tub. I had relaxing bath but the the water wasn't draining. They fixed it anyway. The pool was really huge but I couldn't use it as the timings were a little late. A great stay really.

Excellent location. Friendly staff
