I’ve called twice about the room door that I had hard time opening. Nothing done. Only coffee available in the room. No tea. Definitely not a 5 star property. Quality went done for the last few years. What a shame. Pendry used the one of my fave hotels in SD.
Amazing experience 😃❤️
Beautiful property right in the heart of the Gaslamp district. Walk anywhere, great service, clean, friendly, upscale.
Everything was perfect
Good 3/4 star hotel but definitely not a 5-star. The rating is for the miss information.
We are a regular guest . We always stay at pendry if we are downtown
Great!
Great hotel in the heart of SD. Very walkable to all the best spots like the Gaslamp, civic theater, seaport village, Petco Park, etc. The roof-top pool area is also definitely a highlight. The staff seemed a little stressed, but that may be a given when working in a busy urban area.
Very hospitable, pool was awesome. Great hotel and great location.
The Pendry San Diego offered multiple spectacular experiences. From top tier dining, to the a luxurious pool, to the gorgeous and comfortable room, every thing was absolutely perfect. The friendly, helpful staff went out of their way to make every experience memorable and special. Olivia was a saint. We’ll definitely be back!
Great city hotel
Lovely city centre hotel, plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
Highly recommend! One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in San Diego, with easy walking access to the convention center. Nice pool area with good service. A minor issue was the men’s locker room in the Pendry Spa—it could have been better maintained throughout the day. When I visited in the evening, towels were on the floor, one toilet was clogged, and most lockers were unstocked (missing robes, towels, hangers). For the price, I expected a tidier space.
I stayed at Pendry Newport and was given the best possible upgrade. This hotel in San Diego was almost opposed to giving an upgrade. Said that they charge for that service and thwn finally gave me a Harbor view room. Terrible service from front desk. Beverly Hill Hotel gave me a bungalow. And L’Ermitage extended a beautiful room as did Newport. San Diego was such a disappointment. Beware the neighborhood
Location: in the heart of the Gaslamp district within walking distance from many restaurants. Price: way too overpriced for the advertised star ratings. Rooms are very small, no balcony option rooms (except for one suite) communal corridors look like old apartment building corridors
The 11th floor is peaceful. The rooms are small but well-appointed. The wi-fi is effective. Breakfast starts at 7 though they run out of coffee at 6:30. The front desk makes limited effort to resolve discrepancies.
Pleasant stay
Great location and staff
Great location with great staff. We were always greeted with a smile and if we needed assistance with anything. The small things that make you feel welcome helps to add to the stay. The concierge was great, gave us great recommendations that only locals and popular restaurants and bars. Would definitely recommend and plan on visiting again.
This was a great choice for the Gaslamp area of San Diego. Would stay there again!
Cute hotel in a great part of town
Deceptive Pricing but Beautiful Hotel
Awesome hotel. Great spot. Nice restaurants. Deceptive pricing. The stay was so nice until the bill came and there were deceptive costs. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. The water and nuts each had a line item for price, tax, and service charge. The service charge was a hidden fee and lost our trust in the hotel. It wasn't a lot, it's just annoying and deceptive.
Amazing place
When I was checking in I politely asked if they might have a room upgrade. The clerk said "Sure, I can put you in a suite for $500 more a night!" Trying to sell me a much more expensive room is NOT and upgrade! The room TV was broken. The room coffee maker was broken. The service in the bar was marginal at best. They offer you a "checkin cocktail" which consisted of pouring yourself a glass of juice (tasted like Tang) in a plastic cup and taking to the bar to get "spiked." Just awful.
Bills visit
Excellent location , rooms , service , bar and restaurant. We had a fantastic experience staying at the hotel. It's defiantly going to be a place to revisit soon.
5 stars
Everything is perfect with this hotel, except that the rooms have very poor quality furniture
The property is located in a lively area and easy to walk out to various restaurants and bars. The hotel has great amenities, we used the pool and jacuzzi one evening and although we didn't eat at the hotel the selection of eateries looked great. Lovely room and very clean. Staff were helpful and the valet parking (whilst expensive) was very useful.
Top pick for Gaslight District
Easy location to walk to restaurants and convention center. Staff is friendly. Very quiet rooms and hallways. More on elegant side when you are in the sleeping quarters. Our room was not very large, but still nice. Great pool and Hot tub Fridge is full of things to buy but there was no room to eve put a water bottle. We were offered a free drink upon arrival and little water bottles are left on counter for free.
Great staff
Very cool place. Love the architecture
There were a little nosy early in the morning around the hotel.
Amazing hotel in the Gaslamp
We were coming to town for a 1 night stay and chose the Pendry this time. We usually pick different hotels just to get to experience various locations and hotel brands, this was an exceptional choice. We like higher end rooms and suites so we have a high standard for the price range we’re typically paying. We had a suite on the 5th floor and the room was clean, modern and very appealing to the eye. The living room was classy with some great couches and built in book shelves, the bedroom was very clean and cozy looking and the bathroom was perfect. Valet was great, lobby staff were friendly and helpful and the pool area and gym as well as the bars and restaurant all looked amazing. Would definitely recommend this great hotel right in the heart of the Gaslamp district!
Very friendly and helpful staff
Nice lounge and amenity , pool is great!
Amazing hotel experience all around
Excellent stay all around. Would highly recommend.
Great hotel hightly recommend
Always above and beyond guest and spa services. We won’t stay anywhere else in San Diego.
Clean, friendly staff, convenient…. Only suggestion would be that for the price a continental breakfast should be included.
Weekend getaway
Pendry was great, not as high-end as Pendry Newport Beach, but the hotel as really good. Unfortunately the hotel is located in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter which we personally don’t like.
Great hotel
Beautiful location, and the room was great. Stay away from the mini bar unless you're prepared for a very large fee. Lots of complimentary amenities - we really enjoyed our stay!
In the middle of everything Loud nighttime
Everything was incredible but 70 dollars to park is insane
I love it I will stay here again It’s such a great experience very professional and nice staff

Fantastic & can’t wait to visit again!
First time & loved it! Everyone was great - very helpful & friendly! I absolutely loved my corner room w/lots of windows & view of the area! Also - the pool area was fantastic w/fun drink service & cool music! Thank you!
A very pleasant stay at the Pendry.
Amazing property. Amazing staff. I will definitely be staying here again and will recommend the hotel!
Pendry exceptional experience
The stay here was the perfect vibe from start to finish: from the luxurious but not overly pretentious property to the exceptional service from front desk to engineering tech who promptly assisted our group with presentation glitch. Highly recommend!
Great location The shower is great
The best hotel I've ever stayed at!!!
The housekeeping was atrocious. The housekeeping always missed restocking something..The hallway on offer, had toothpick, Bobbi pin and safety pin on the floor for 4 days until I had to mention to the front desk. So ya housekeeping not good. Plus when we checked in we were not told about ourVIP Silver benefits or the Lincoln they have for you to drive or the check in cocktail. Or guitar Also there was more then days old dust on the ledges and cacti of the restaurant Provisonal , we sat in the booths at Breakfast. Hope the owners, CIO andCEO read these.
Bad service, not 5 star level
Really weird service. Super strange behaviour. Waited until I’d fully taken all our bags out the car to offer help, then looked bewildered when I said I had already done it... The person at the reception also acted strangely. Very poor service and not a 5 star experience at all. Not worth the price tag.
Good place

Beautiful with very friendly staff
Amazing stay central location. My favorite hotel in sandiego. Beds very comfortable with fluffy duvet. Great smelling toiletries in room. Great pool service and loungers. Will be back
Beautiful room. Great location.
Will return I enjoyed my stay
Great location, friendly staff, lovely rooms.
Room was nice, hospitality was excellent

Amazing hotel!
A great fancy hotel in San Diego.
Check in experience with Clare was fabulous - best staff interaction… also pool service was very good. Some dirty linens / towels etc… The hotel is nice - but not up to other pendry standards. Had a wonderful time!!
Very clean property. I we stayed for 6 nights and there was not a single day we didnt receive the best possible service.
This place is amazing. The room is beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. Customer service was amazing and room dinning was 10/10.
Great location to move around San Diego area or just to walk Glasslamp quarter. You can find affordable overnight parking for about $15 just 5 mins from the hotel. There are a number of well rated restaurants next to the hotel. True, you will pay a resort fee and you might not use hotel amenities at all. Rooms are controlable and clean. I’d stay again at Pendry
Great hotel with friendly staff
Great and lavish place to stay
First time at a Pendry. Great property. Rooms are pristine and modern. Food was excellent.
Great if you're not staying for the pool!
We generally really enjoyed our stay at the Pendry and will look for more locations for future travel. The front desk staff was welcoming and all staff greeted us whenever they saw us. The valet service was also convenient and polite. My one complaint was the crowd the pool brought in - seemingly from outside those staying at the hotel. It was overly crowded, loud, obnoxious. I also had to put up with some bully behavior from some drunk girls coming from the pool and getting into the elevator, and guests left their drinks everywhere. This was far from the relaxing / luxurious rooftop pool experience we were hoping for.
The hotel and staff were excellent. It’s in the middle of the Gaslamp district. Easily walkable to many restaurants.
Amazing in every sense
We love the staff at the Pendry
I stay here at a lot , great hotel customer service is below par . A lot of room to improve
Beautiful hotel
Excellent hotel and location
Amazing hotel. Can’t say enough good things about the property and staff.
Great location and pool in the heart of the gaslamp
Pleasant surprise
The Pendry is a superb selection and was a real jewel of a surprise. Having travel to San Diego many times for business I had not come across this property before. It is now my go to each time I visit and I will be checking out other locations throughout the country For this brand. It was a wonderful day.
I really wanted to love this property. I did not. There was really nothing special about it. I have stayed at many properties in this area. This was my least favorite. I forgot a pair of shoes and they wanted to charge me $36 to mail them back. This place is about making money the cheapest avenue possible. The room was not work the $400 a night. The staff was largely unhelpful. I would not recommend this place.
I forgot my bag after we checked out, staff was very efficient helping us finding our bags and we chose to ship back our bag. Staff was very nice and helpful!
The property was exactly what we needed: close to Petco (3 minute walk as advertised), clean, great staff, nice restaurants and nice rooms. We will definitely be returning!
A very honest review coming up. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean with great amenities. However, we were given a street facing room and for 2/5 nights we were woken up at 7am by trash collections which are extremely noisy. The hotel offered us earplugs. Not ideal. Additionally, there is a pool party in the hotel on the weekends so getting a bed by the pool is a challenge on the weekend. The hotel charged my card twice and it is still causing me problems. Overall a very mixed experience for us at the Pendry.
The property is clean and the rooms are a decent size. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overnight valet parking cost is steep at $65 per night plus a $44 ‘assessment’ fee per night . A little pricey when staying for multiple nights. Otherwise, a fun, trendy place to stay.
Great location
The staff at Pendry is top-notch. Everyone makes you feel special. The property aesthetics are gorgeous, and the spa and pool are great. It had more of an "adult" vibe vs. tons of kids running around, which we really appreciated <3. Can't wait to stay here again!
We loved our stay
Worst Pendry experience by far !
Having one of your vehicle's at one's disposal is awesome! Convenient to the SDCC, baseball stadium, and restaurants. Exceptional staff, both front desk and housekeeping -- everyone so courteous with genuine smiles. Keep up the great work!
For the money, it certainly wasn't worth it
First hotel I ever stayed in where the shower was next to the bed. Small cramped room. Not even enough extra space to put up two luggage racks. Bathroom had no room for any personal items.
Loved the hotel!
Pendry is a quality hotel option. It is a bit overpriced at this location because the rooms are surprisingly small (very New York type configuration and small). Additionally, I recommend making a reservation at the restaurant, Provisional...especially on the weekends as it gets busy and the 3 lovely hostesses seemed overwhelmed trying to seat guests (while there appeared to be plenty of open tables). Overall, I would recommend and return.
Loved the spa! And the pool was great. Sunday they had an awesome DJ. Had so much fun and ordered food. Felt like a Queen!
Upon check in the front office lady was polite and pleasant, however she offered an upgrade to a higher floor with supposedly a better view. We booked the skyline view and the upgrade offered Bay view, a very little water view and all you can see are roof tops. At 0930 am before check out time we were bothered by the housekeeping knocking on the door to ask if we were checking out. Then they placed the cleaning cart infront of our door unsightly view upon leaving at 1100. The first day we tried to have a good meal at the restaurant Provisional. The hostess offered the velvet bench, it had crumbs and other particles I asked to change seats. After ordering the waiter brought two plates that had an egg smell we asked to return, then the salad we ordered had oxidised leaves we returned the FF had were so salty and were uneatable, needless to say we asked for the mgr he was polite, he appologised and broght another fries the wrap was mediocre. Next to our seat dust were all over the side pane. Upon check out, I mentioned to the front desk about the issue with the upgrade and that I felt it was not fair, she offered to adjust, then came back after speaking to the mgr with an excuse and an explanation about some street view. Basically, this will be the last time I would ever try the Pendry in SAN.
The costumer service was excellent!! We were very impressed!
Gorgeous hotel in the gas lamp district
Great stay. They noticed it was my birthday and upgraded our room which was very kind. Overall the hotel is excellent. Didn’t care for the Vegas style pool party on Sunday which basically meant we couldn’t enjoy the pool. But some people may really love that type of thing so … just a matter of preference. Room was great. Atmosphere was great. We splurged on a spa treatment and that was also excellent. All the restaurants were great. Would definitely stay there again.
very good location in the Gaslamp Quarter.

This hotel will charge you for every breath you take, an additional $50 per night that’s a hidden fee, they charge $60 per day for valet. All sorts of hidden fees here. The staff has no shame in charging you these fees
