I was very disappointed with my stay at PP Erawan Palms Resort. There were several things that just were not acceptable during my stay: 1) There was a 5 inch lizard inside of my room. I contacted hotel staff and they came with a broom and spray, dismantling the whole room as they chased it around. They couldn't find it (it went into a large crack in the wall), and so I demanded they give me a new room. The second room they took me to had a broken lock on the door. The third room they took me to had a leaky shower that was so loud you could hear it with the bathroom doors closed 2) The hotel staff advised me incorrectly on the ferry schedule. I confirmed multiple times with them about the times to Tonsai Pier and back. I ended up waiting 2.5 hours at Tonsai Peer for a ferry that never came, and I had to take a longtail boat which was relatively expensive back to the PP Erawan. I asked the hotel that they pay for this given they advised me incorrectly on the time, and they refused. They were not even accommodating or understanding. Instead the hotel staff started to interrupt me and yell at me, not what I would expect for a hotel that is relatively more expensive than others on Phi Phi. 3) Rooms overall were dirty, noisy, and I found ants in the bed during my last night there. There are several other hotels right around PP Erawan, I would highly recommend staying at the other ones beside this hotel. It was dirty, and staff was rude.

Not a good value to stay

Stuff are not very helpful but friendly enough. Checking out should be at 11, no late check out service or you have to pay 50% of the room rate. Breakfast is just fine. Overall, I don't think it's worth to stay here of the price.

Awful, disgusting, despicable, shameful.

Arriving from Phuket by ferry we had to wait 2 and a half hours before getting into our room. The "lobby" was jammed with people waiting for the ferry going out, we could barely go on the beach with speedboats blocking access to the water. Finally we went in the room and when we opened the bed we uncovered a filthy spectacle I have never seen before. The maid was embarrassed by the stains on the sheets, the cover mattress and the mattress. Despicable, awful, disgusting.

Not a great resort

We had booked to come to this hotel for 5 nights as a birthday treat, on arrival to phi phi there was no transport waiting at the pier for an arrival of guests we had to find our own transport to the hotel even though we could see many other resorts were holding signs up for guests. On arriving to the hotel we were extremely disappointed with what greeted us. The staff friendly but not that attentive, we were told wifi could only be used in reception which was poor quality as everyone else sits there using it meaning you have to stand. We were shown to our room which was on the top floor. On entry we noticed how the heat in the room was unbearable the air con wasn't working that strongly. Also by the balcony the floor was covered in ants all running across the room! Me and my partner were very disappointed as we had just traveled 14 hours from England to enjoy the paradise of phi phi and we already wanted to leave. We then decided to explore the pool.. The pool although clean was pretty small compared to pictures on the website, also the pool bar was closed and no staff to be seen anywhere, more like a ghost town. The restaurant was also closed and the top of the resort with another deserted dirty pool next to it. We stayed the first night but after a terrible breakfast the following morning we decided to leave after 1 night and had to book another resort for the remainder of our stay. On check out all the staff said was that there is no refund available hotel policy.

Good resort

The hotel was really nice, good service! Another point is that the wifi doesnt work in the rooms and the connection is quite poor in common areas. The location is amazing. It's NOT a place for night life. The restaurant provide amazing food if you are willing to spend a bit more. Due to the amount of jellyfish in the sea I expected them to have a better swiming pool.

AVOID, RUDE STAFF, OVER PRICED

We arrived at the hotel and our firth thoughts were lovely, until we got taken to our 'standard room' that was below 2* standard. It was not clean and it had bugs everywhere. The bathroom was beyond a joke, with just concrete flooring and I was beyond gob smacked. We went to reception to ask if we could get an upgrade and this did not come cheap. The upgrade was much better than the standard but they gave us a twin room where we pushed the beds together. The bed felt like you was sleeping on the floor and had no Wifi. The kids pool was miserable to look at, it was dirty and had looked like it had never been cleaned. The pool bar was half finished with a disgusting smell coming from it. The hotel staff where clearly overworked, with the same lovely waitress serving us every morning and for our late night meals also, she seemed as though she lived there and didn't ever stop working (we where there for 7 days and she was there at all times) The kitchen was disgusting. We had an issue with a women and male at the front desk booking for me and my partner to go snorkeling and island hopping, they told us at 9am we would have to wait until 10am so we waited until 10am, they told us we would have to wait until 12, this then went on until they told us we couldn't go as they did not have a boat for us. I was disgusted and asked for the manager, when the manager came she had the 'I don't care' attitude and told us we wasn't getting a boat and to find our own boat on the island.

Feel cheated

Stayed here for two nights. Pros: Beach is 20mins from bamboo island and mosquito island for snorkelling. Massage options by the hotel beach itself. Cons: Staff have a rude and "couldn't care less" attitude. Had couple of problems at the hotel: 1. Ask for towels in our room and nobody comes. Ask for check out 20mins later and a guy is at your doorstep within seconds to take out the luggage. 2. Get scammed when we rent a private boat and snorkelling gear from the hotel for snorkelling - upon return my snorkelling equipment goes missing from the boat !! i'm asked to pay 200baht for apparently losing this is the middle of the sea! The boat rider, who i handed over the equipment to upon climbing back onto the boat says he never saw me bring it on the boat ! How was i snorkelling for an hour then ??? 3. Charged 150 baht was forgetting room slippers at the hotel poolside and "losing" them! Room slippers !! Something that other hotels give for free. 4. Asked for hotel manager on three separate occasions, we were told manager not available.

Hard to get to and very run down

Embarrassed to have taken my in laws here for a family vacation. Very run down, hotel room was old and had a balcony that over looked a swamp with trash in it. No wifi in the rooms and only wifi in the front check in area. Very hard to get to this hotel unless you arrive at just the right time on the ferry because you need to take a long boat to the hotel which is arranged by the hotel only at specific times which does not really Correlate with when the ferry comes in. We spent an additional $1400 baht to get to the hotel since we did not want to wait 2 hours for the hotel's boat. Showers were dirty and leaked, tons of mosquitoes (but they do try and spray to get rid of them), beds were very uncomfortable. Only good things: the beach is gorgeous and it is right out front, the breakfast is good. I had 2 rooms each for 1 night and I was happy to check out. The cost of the hotel was far too expensive for what you get. 2 star hotel at best

Nice and quiet location

The hotel is located on the northern part of the island, it was 30 minutes away from the tong Sai beach and need to take private long tail (1000 baht) or ferry (200 baht) to reach. The ferry is not frequent. The beach is quiet and suitable for people who want to relax and escape from the world, there are a few of food options but the area is not busy. People can do snockling right outside the hotel and there are lots of fish. There is also a dive shop right next to the hotel that arrange 2 dives per day for licensed diver (Cost around 3500). Massage place of the hotel is located on beach with magnificent view and an reasonable price. Many guests from the holiday inn next door also come to do massage here. Overall was nice stay and suitable for people who have longer holiday considering the time and efforts required to arrive here.

Bad food, small room

The hotel location is great because of the beautiful beach, but the beach area was dirty and not well maintained, there were water bottles, candy wrappers and plastic bags in the sand and the water. The food of the restaurants were overpriced, very distasteful and he service was horrible. Our room was in front of a pond that was very stinky and not good looking at all. The room was small. Vacation Paradise

This resort was beautiful and so affordable. Right on the beach and the ocean was beautiful. It was so easy to get a tour for the day and the food on the beach was great! It really was an amazing little paradise. This side of Phi Phi is a bit quieter and felt more family friendly. So if your looking for a party scene you might want to try the other side of the island. The only bummer was the bed was the worst thing I have ever slept on and the aircon was right over your bed. Also if the A/C wasn't on for a little while, when you returned to your room it smelled musty. But pretty minor all things considered. I'd stay here again! So beautiful!

It was generally a great hotel! Had no problems with the staff, the room, etc. Unfortunately it is not the best hotel for a solo getaway. Entirely my fault for not looking at the location. Secluded, peaceful and Beautiful Views

Beautiful little resort to the north of the island, very peaceful and secluded with breath taking views. Rooms are modern, extremely spacious and comfortable. They serve fresh fish on the beach every evening and as a foodie I would say it is the best fish I have ever eaten! Only issues we had were it took 2 hours when we arrived to check us in and as we were only here for a few days it meant we missed the amazing sunset, and even though we requested a double room as we were on hineymoon we were given two single beds. Other than that I would highly recommend this resort, it really was beautiful!

In short, the hotel is on a nice beach but is definitely overpriced for what you receive. I never actually stayed with these dirt bags. I booked well in advance and ended up having to try and re-schedule or cancel. I personally contacted the Hotel multiple times and Hotels.com tried...I kept getting put on hold then eventually hung up on. I think if you are in the HOSPITALITY business then you owe your CUSTOMERS a little bit of gratitude. Horrific experience and front office manager awful

Horrific. As Hotels.com are aware, I had to sleep on a sun lounger by pool as hotel room had no aircon, no working shower,no TV, no phone to reception working, was 15 minutes up a vertical hill by a sewage tank. Smell in room so bad I walked in pitch black over concrete rubble hill n sewage from tank 3 times to request room change at reception at night. They had no other rooms available. When I asked them for refund they said " no, not hotel policy to refund" the lady front office manager Lladewen should be fired from her job she is a disgrace how she handles customers. No refunds under any circumstances she said?'! Check out reviews on trip advisor saying same from other guests. Stay away from hotel and Phi Phi Natural( same managers and staff) Zeavola is amazing as is Holiday Inn on the beach.

Everything was great apart from the bathroom. The water in the shower has a lot of sand in it. Luckily we only stayed one night, the one way to get clean was to go in the sea! The location on the other hand was incredible. The hotel was only half full so it was very quiet. Don't pay too much as some problems with the hotel need fixing, it was relatively new when we stayed. Nice Hotel, only one downfall

My husband and I recently stayed here on our honeymoon. The hotel staff is extremely friendly. The same people are there for breakfast through dinner and always had a smile on their face. The food for breakfast and dinner was incredible and such a great price. We truly enjoyed our stay, but were disappointed in one area. The website (and fliers provided at the hotel) promote Muay Thai demonstrations and training. Since we both train at home, we were ecstatic to keep up with the routine on our trip -- in fact, this was our primary reason for booking this hotel. When we arrived we inquired about more details only to find out that due to short staff there are no demonstrations or training. We were told we could ask for someone at the restaurant to train with us, but they weren't sure if they're available. Needless to say, we were disappointed. If you're not into Muay Thai, then it's great! If you are, just check prior to booking if there's someone available.

This is a B-Minus

We originally booked a standard room at this hotel as it appeared from the website to meet our standards. When we got there, it was dated, and frankly a bit gross. We were not happy and asked to see another room. The second room (a "Superior") was actually quite satisfactory although we had to pay a sizable increase to upgrade our room. It was worth it to us to pay the additional $90/night. So, there are three categories of rooms. You will not be happy with the lowest category unless you are accustomed to low budget travel. The bungalows, which are the two highest grades, were very satisfactory. Just be prepared to pay a little more. The pool area is nice, the buffet breakfast is good, the on-site restaurant is edible (barely) for dinner. The Jasmine restaurant nearby is quite a bit better. The staff is very nice and eager to please. Don't be afraid to stay here but read the fine print. I don't think that the Holiday Inn next door is any better.

Outdated Hotel and no options in area

PP Erawan palms is situated on a strip of beach with 3 other resorts, including the Holiday Inn, on the north side of the island. Transportation (boat/ferry) to get there is like cattle herding as they put stickers on you with your hotel name and will not communicate with you. You are just shuffled along from boat to boat and watching your bags can be stressful. The resort itself is very outdated. If you do not get the expensive poolside/beach villas, you will be in the base unit hotel rooms in the back of the resort. The bed is so uncomfortable, you will check twice to make sure you are not sleeping on a box spring. The water pressure is a trickle at all times, as well. The food is not good, but you can get toast and fruit. Your beach area is right next to a main gypsy longtail area, which is like swimming next to an expressway. Your ocean area is a roped off box surrounded by water traffic and ferry transfer. Walk down the beach to the Holiday Inn for a huge and better swimming area. However, if you are looking for the brochure beaches, you will need to rent a longtail or speedboat (1200Bhat/5000Bhat for 4 hrs) to get ot other beaches and islands around the area. This is totally worth it and will get you the crystal blue waters. The hotel staff is very unhelpful when it comes to transfers, activities and the prices are terrible (offered 7900 bhat per couple for 4 hr snorkeling).

Welcome to The Beach

Right on the beach! Amazing supper right on the beach complete with entertainment! Only trouble is it's a little cumbersome getting to the resort from the main area - expensive to take a long boat and only 2 ferries a day. Bathroom could use an upgrade but the rest of the room was perfect! Staff very friendly! Beautiful location!!

Erewan Palms Resort

The resort feels quite old and a bit dated. It is a 45 minute boat ride from the main pier, but that is a good opportunity to see the island. The restaurants are nothing special (but rather expensive) and there is no shop at the resort (but a small store at the nearby Sea Gipsy village, and a lovely restaurant there). At lunchtimes there were cruise ships which arrived as part of their cruise package and so the resort went from being quiet and empty to full and noisy until their buffet had finished and the ship departed. So not laid-back and relaxing all the time (and we went out of season...). Its a nice location and has a lovely beach. A very short walk (2 mins) to the other side of the island is an excellent place to see the sunset. Not a place to stay if you want the bright lights and party atmosphere of Ton Sai bay.

Attentive service

The resort was great, a bit far from the main village, so we had to take a long-tail boat. All personal was very polite and the food was good but expensive, since there is only them out in the area.

Blissful location for a short stay

A glorious location and a lovely warm welcome. This would be a fabulous stay for a short period but its remote location would perhaps render it less suitable for a longer stay.

Amazing resort hotel in paradise!

The staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The room was massive and very clean. The location is amazing... set on the stunning Leamtong beach at the north of the island. Expect to get your feet wet in order to get to the hotel. You arrive on a long boat and walk from the beach to reception. The food at the 2 restaurants was superb and very reasonable in price. You could also have a massage service on the beach and there are lots of water activities and tours which the hotel can arrange for you. There are only 46 rooms so you feel like you get a more personalised service compared to other hotels. Also the nightly rate was very reasonable compared to some others.

Before arriving in Phi Phi some fellow travelers had said it was, full of crazy youngsters. P.P. Erawin was at the furthest tip of the island and had nonw of those trappings. It was a quite place to enjoy our company. We went snorkling and enjoyed the sunset. Gorgeous.

Nice but needs work

We stayed for 5 days at Erawan Palms and had a perfectly nice time. The service was nice and the food was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable. HOWEVER, from day two we had no hot water and our toilet only flushed once an hour. This was reported to the desk on three separate occasions and nothing was ever done. I suppose we should've made a bigger stink about the issue or demanded a new room... Overall its worth the money if what you want is to COMPLETELY get away from modern civilisation without losing the 4-star comforts.... The resort is a bit of a trek from the port, but if you want utter isolation and peace, this place will due. You might need to get a bit demanding with the staff if things go awry though.

The Erawan Team is lovely!

I stayed for a few days at the Erawan recently. The team picked me up directly from the Ferry Stop and took me all the way to my room! They were absolutely adorable! Very helpful! The surroundings are beautiful and the resort has all the facilities you'd expect. The only thing that was missing were the bean-bags and umbrellas by the beach, but you'd easily lay down in the places around the hotel. I will definitely get back there! Amazing customer service!

Amazing Service

Although the facilities are simply okay (air conditioner was too small for the size of the room, towels and linens were not regularly changed, and furniture was quite old), PP Erawan Palms will always be one of my FAVORITE hotels. Not only is the location beautiful, but the service was incredible. I was stung by a jellyfish on a day trip and upon returning, I asked the staff if they had any after-bite or meat tenderizer. Although they did not, they sent a team into the garden to gather some sort of plant which they then beat into a paste and applied on my thigh for me. It was both a hilarious and heartwarming experience. I would highly recommend staying at PP Erawan because the team that they have working there is truly oustanding!

The location of the hotel was not good. If someone wants to move around the island has to pay a lot of money for the taxi as there is no road to go to the city centre. Also, if you want to contract an activity are very expensive.

In the middle of four resorts within short walking distance, so there are choices for dining. Area is good for getting away for some downtime.

Amazing environment and very lively staff

Overall great experience, with a very lovely staff. The location is just unique, in the very top of the phi phi island, far from the turmoil of tai son pier. I had to make a mediocre rate for the comfort as the bed mattress was really too thin. I do not dislike hard mattresses, but in that case à lower pillow would have been appreciated. Otherwise the place is very clean in spite of the proximity to the sea, and this thanks to the very caring staff.
