arrived and all rooms had only 1 bed, I'd specified 2x separate beds in each, never had any issues at lots of other hotels on this tour, Night porter was great. only 1 lift working & super slow.in room no AC working, breackfast was good though

The air conditioner didn't work. Got double charged from Hotels.com and hotel itself for the stay.

Expect a 3-Star Hotel and It Should Be Okay

As a regular business traveler to Europe, this property feels more like a 3 star hotel than a 4 star. Older, a bit run down hallways, elevators, and rooms. Both elevators broken while I was there, key card magnets were flawed. Had some other issues, and the manager responded well. Overall it was okay, but the 4 star expectation/price didn't match the experience.

Perfect hotel for a weekend

Reported the issue, there was circus behind. Makes a lot of noises you cannot sleep. The hotel wouldn’t accommodate external choice

Fantastic stay, we arrived late with our 3 children after a long journey and the receptionist couldn’t have been more welcoming. Really clean comfortable rooms and particularly liked the addition of coffee and water. Excellent value, would recommend and would stay again.

Although quite far from the city Centre , the hotel is situated close to the Ubahn station which makes it easy to reacher the Hamburg city Centre

Clean, convenient and great service

Stayed here a few times with business as it is located close to where i work and is convenient. Rooms are large and airy although a bit warm and the road facing rooms get a bit of noise if you open the window. 'View' rooms overlook the racecourse and are better in my opinion. Restaurant menu could do with changing more often for frequent visitors but food is good and service is very good.

Quiet hotel, tiny duvet

This hotel was in a location suitable for a business trip. It is quiet despite being on a main road. The hotel has a bar and restaurant, and these were really quiet. Beer and wine selection is good. Food selection is small, but the food was good. My biggest moan is that on a double bed I had a single duvet and 2 pillows and I was only given 1 set of towels. When I've travelled I often had 2 showers - one the night I arrive and then the next morning. However the duvet did really hinder my sleep as I just didn't have enough spare for the luxury of a warm back!!

All staff (reception, restaurant, events) were excellent & pleasant. Restaurant had a buffet with a wide array of healthy & tasty food for breakfast & lunch. Rooms are dated but bed is comfy. Location is out of the way 15 min subway ride to city center

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms weren’t as modern as expected though.

We were not happy with the lack of facilities in our room. No bottled water ,No tea, No coffee. The bed was quite uncomfortable and we did not appreciate the plastic mattress cover which increased the bed temperature.

If coffee and a comfy bed is your thing then DON’T

The parking was good and onsite so that was very convenient. The actual hotel location is a bit remote if St.Pauli or the Reeperbahn, it’s by a race course. The hotel was a bit dated and there wasn’t a kettle or coffee maker in our room. Our daughters single bed was a military style cot that collapsed on my feet leaving me with two big bruises. when we asked for a kettle we were told that we would need to transfer rooms to and upgraded room to get them at a cost of €10. We complained stating that when we booked it said that there would be a coffee maker in the room. The guy eventually gave in and had a kettle sent to the room minus cups or spoons or anything so I had to go back down to ask for them. Luckily I had my own coffee and creamer with me but I’ve never seen such a fuss being made over wanting a kettle before! Very poor service. And the main beds were uncomfortable too. So overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

A great hotel with great links to the city. I am a little confused by the hotel. We stayed at the end of May and it was great very quiet but great the last day may 31st was chaos ascension day had come and gone and the hotel was rammed breakfast was chaotic and not enough staff to cover it, maybe just used to quiet life and then it was crazy I don’t know. The only other issue we had is we only had one tea cup asked reception who told us to go to restaurant but that was closed. 2 days later we did manage to get a cup from the cleaners. No big deal just a a small niggly one. On the whole a great hotel food good staff very friendly. Great view of racecourse and park. Overall a lovely hotel and well worth visiting.

Nice hotel, easy to get to with public transport

My husband and 10 month old daughter enjoyed our stay here very much. It was a 5-10 minute walk from a subway stop and almost directly next to a bus stop so it made traveling to the city center very easy. We didn't eat or drink at the hotel but it suited our needs perfectly, even with a baby.

Pay extra 10 euro to get a quiet room with free coffee and tea.

Perfect Spot to Stay and Explore Hamburg

The hotel is situated out of the main city sightseeing area on the horse racing course at Rennbahn. It is easily accessible using the U and S trains and is only a short walk from the nearest station. The reception staff were warm and friendly and we were soon checked into a very clean, spacious and comfortable room on the top floor overlooking the race course. Breakfast in the morning was a buffet style with a great choice and excellent healthy options too. Check out was simple and we weren't even charged for the mineral water from the mini bar. All in all a fabulous hotel and if you don't mind staying out of the main area is a wonderful base for getting around the city with cheap, regular and reliable transport system

Very generic hotel. Check out took ages due to incomplete information being inputted at check in by hotel receptionist. Only a front entrance, parking at rear in unsurfaced area, arrived in torrential downpour and got drenched and muddy after parking car.

Room kept locking me out - like the deadbolt was on the door- everytime I left I couldn't get back in- it was very inconvenient -esp when they had to take the door lock apart to let Me in at 1 am when I returned from work/ and nothing, not even a free breakfast for the constant inconvenience

Nice hotel, but the rooms are just too warm.

While we have been to this hotel several times before and will continue to come, the one problem always remains. In the summer and winter time, the hotel rooms are just too warm (even with the heating turned off). The only solution remains is to keep the windows open almost all night in order to cool down the room.

We really enjoyed the hotel. It's great if you're not concerned with taking the U-Bahn (btw that was easy)

Nothing Special

We were booked in for an overnight stay. The small car park was full but an extension had spaces but this was rather muddy underfoot. As we made our way to the front entrance of the hotel there were at least four more cars arrive in the car park. I don't know where they ended up parking. We arrived at 18:00 so there must have been many arriving later. We were expecting to get an early meal in the restaurant but were told we had to wait till after 20:00 as there was a function on. We thus ate far later than was convenient and meant that we didn't sleep well. The beds were OK but not that comfortable. Breakfast was of a fair standard.

Fantastic hotel

This hotel was great. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel appears to have been recently built or revitalized. The rooms are clean and well organized. For just a few more Euro we could have opted for a room with a terrace overlooking an open expanse, but we were there in October and it was cold and rainy. The hotel is about five minutes walk from a shopping area - bakeries, post office and market - and the train/bus station. The train will take you most everywhere in Hamburg and it is relatively inexpensive and fast. The hotel is equipped with a nice fitness area and sauna. There is a good restaurant, a bar and lots of well attended conference rooms. The price was remarkably affordable. We will be staying here again.

Good clean hotel at a fair price with the breakfast thrown in, not sure such good value if you had pay extra for breakfast, dinner menu could have been bit more variety-overall good deal.

Clean, good business hotel near the city center

Clean, good business hotel near the city center. Skip the breakfast (at 24euro/person.. uhh) and go to Café May which is 5min away (with car). Rooms on the street side are quite so no need for the room with the view on the other side. Friendly hotel staff. In room electronics are outdated (4stars and no walloutlet near the bed??), tiny tv and minibar, clean bathroom, comfy beds.

Overnight stay, arrived late from Hauptbahnhof by taxi (€18), left early the following morning, didn't take breaksfast, was offered an upgrade to a room with a better view for €15, and was recommended to book breakfast via reception to get a discount, if I wanted it. Had I taken the room with the view, the experience would probably have been more pleasant, as the rooms overlooking the street are not restful. There was quite a delay when I checked in due to a bus tour checking in at the same time. There is a minibar but no complimentary tea / coffee. Toiletries are fine, I like the fact they offer large, multi-use soap / shower gel dispensers to minimise environmental impact. Reception called a taxi for me promptly for the airport (€30).

great place to walk the dogs

Better than I expected. We travel with our dogs and there is a huge green space aka racetrack where we could happily walk the dogs. Nice bedding and sauna was great.

TOURISTS BEWARE

4-Star Hotel w/ 1 Star service. Cold reception at check-in but brushed it off. Purchased groceries only to find the fridge was broken.... requested they replace the fridge with one from another room and instead was offered $5 off of room service or the option to switch rooms. BASIC ROOMS, No ironing board, hair dryer or hair conditioner provided by the hotel therefore sorry ladies, you'll need to bring your own cosmetics. The suburb is not part of the tourist district therefore they were not very welcoming to overseas visitors at the grocery store, bars and cafes, definitely recommend staying in the CBD and not on the outskirts if you're a tourist. Second night the air con didn’t work/bathroom light went out, explained our experience to the line manager at check-out whom could care less,very disappointing given this is “rated” a 4-star hotel. The hotel was overall 3-star quality, the view of the racetrack was nice, the hotel was fairly clean and the breakfast was tasty but the rude and unhelpful staff and the non-tourist friendly suburb overshadowed our entire stay in Hamburg :( DO NOT STAY HERE

Nice hotel, but not much around it.

The rooms are nice. There is outdoor parking on one end. The desk staff was not very patient with my German when checking in, but the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a racetrack behind the hotel that has a race once a year. There is one cafe across the street and nothing else nearby.

The hotel is located about 200 meters from a u-bahn station making it handy to get into Hamburg. Good sized room, friendly and very efficient staff. Food was okay, a bit expensive.

Wonderful staff

Parking can be a challenge but pleasant staff and excellent accomodations more than made up for anything else.

Nothing wrong with the place, staff is very friendly. Apart from that maybe a bit sterile and standard hotel experience, which is by no means a bad thing if you are not especially looking for character. Location may seem a bit far but walk to the tube + tube will see you in central Hamburg in less than 25 mins, which is quite acceptable for the price of the night. although of good standard, the breakfast is priced at ludicrous close to 20 euros and falls way short off the price tag.

Nice hotel.

The hotel is located in a quiet, residential area a few train stops from the city attractions. It is 2 blocks from the S Bahn. We did not eat in the area as we were usually in the city center. There are fast food and coffee shops at the S station. There are two grocery stores further down the street. I recommend purchasing the Hamburg Tourist Card. It gave us unlimited travel on the city trains, trams, buses and ferries. Plus, it provides discounts for tourist attractions. Hamburg is a very nice city.

Good hotel with free parking

Our stay at NH Hotel Hamburg Horn was nice. The room was comfortable and we had view of the horse race track next door.We also had the breakfast buffet which was really well organised, and the food was all fresh! So we had a really good stay.

Good hotel within easy reach of town

A really nice hotel with easy parking facilities and with a underground station nearby it within easy reach of town. Breakfast is extra and a little costly, but a short ride away are lots of shops. Beds with comfortable pillows, room is a little cramped when you have three beds. Nice and clean bathroom.

Nice hotel at a reasonable price

Based on other guest reviews, I upgraded the room for a room facing the race track to make sure it is quiet. The hotel insulation is high, which means even during this late summer stay with outside temperatures only reaching only 17 degree Celsius, the hotel room was still quite warm but the AC did not operate. This was easily resolved by keeping the window open during the day & night. Even though the internet was slow, it was still OK to get the things done I needed to do. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and I would stay at this hotel again if needed.

Excellent hotel not far from city centre

Very good value for money, although the rooms towards the busy road (Rennbahnstrasse) are a bit noisy, in particular those on the 2nd and 3rd floor. The rooms have a good size and are very clean, the minibar can be used as a fridge. The hotel is not in the suburbs as the expedia hotel details say, it is just not in the city centre. Horn is a central part of town and the city centre can be reached within less than 10 minutes by underground.

the hotel is very nice hept very clean big rooms but i would not rate it a 4 star 3.5 much closer.saying that staf was very friendly only 10 min walk to the u bahn.for the price no complaints.

Come every year for nearby sporting event. Good standard all round especially breakfast (on the terrace overlooking the horse racing track if weather OK) Convenient links into central Hamburg if needed. Good honest hotel

Decent hotel for a good price

Good views from the back rooms of the hotel, nice sauna/steam room/relaxation toom (included in price), small but cute bar, and a 5-minute walk from the nearest U-bahn station. Internet code for a free half our of access we were given did not work on our smartphones, however. Not a bad value for the money overall.

Not in the center but very confortable hotel

The hotel was really clean and confortable, excellent terrace for breakfast, nice staff. The only thing is you need to take the metro to the city center, but it is only 10 minutes trip (+5 minutes walk) and you don't need to change lines

NH Hamburg-Horn - Nice hotel within a reasonable distance to the city center.

Good location, it is next to a racetrack and a park, but not in the city center. but is 7 minutes walking distance to one subway station and then around 10 additional minutes. the breakfast is good (buffet) with different options. The internet is not included in the fee so you should add it. the room is nice, clean with a nice desk and nice view.

some things lacking

This hotel's web-site (we checked it before leaving home) claimed to have an iron in the room. This was important to us since we were planning to attend a formal party within 36 hours of arrival. Our clothes would be somewhat wrinkled after a 24-hour trip from home. The concierge could not help us. We would have packed a travel iron had we known. Something I expect to see on the desk in the room: a piece of paper listing all the things you will want to know about the hotel. How to use the phone, per-call charge, restaurant times, perhaps a menu, cost of items in the mini-bar, etc. Not there. Explanation from concierge: we want you to call down to the desk when you want to know things. All previous hotels/bed+breakfasts we have stayed at in Germany include breakfast in the price. Here breakfast was extra, and quite pricey.

if you want a cool, modern style hotel with very comfortable beds, nice pillows etc, this hotel is just for you. I also stayed in NH vienna before, so I was sure to find the same quality in hamburg also. And I really did!

decent stay for value

The hotel is ~5 U-Bahn stops away from Hauptbahnhof, located next to a horse track. It is relatively close to the U-bahn station (~400m), in a mostly residential area. Our room was facing the fairly busy street and with windows open, it was a little noisy. Overall, the room was comfortable and pleasant, and we didn't mind too much that is was not close to the city center. It was a pretty good value for the price.

Bar geschlossen. Leider war bei hoher Auslastung ein Aufzug defekt. Sonst keine gravierenden Mängel.

Good stay

A nice stay this time. I received a good room, as requested. However the service at the front desk could be improved. Maybe it's because they are new or speaking badly English? The staff are very friendly, but working very very slow. Breakfast wasn't as one could expect. Very few options. Only hard boiled eggs and frittata. Not worth spending the money on...

Es war alles in Einem ein sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel mit liebevollen Personal

Die Lage ist wirklich super. Blick auf die Rennbahn, ruhig aber trotzdem sehr gut mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln angebunden. Toll war auch, dass wir 2 Zimmer mit Verbindungstür hatten und somit perfekt für uns als Famiie mit 3 Kindern.

Mit Blick auf die Rennbahn schon fast idyllisch. Wirklich schöner Aufenthalt, besonderen Dank an das rundum freundliche und hilfsbereite Personal, großes Kino ! Wenn wir wieder nach Hamburg kommen, kommen wir wieder.

Das Hotel ist optimal für unser Besuch in Hamburg. Durch den neuen U-Bahn am Horner Rennbahn ist man schnell in der Stadt-Zentrum, ohne umsteigen.

Schön wäre gewesen wenn die Fahrstühle funktionieren würden

Das Hotel ist ist ca. 15 Minuten mit der U-Bahn von der Innenstadt entfernt und ca. 40 Minuten mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln vom Hamburger Flughafen entfernt . Die Anbindungen sind sehr gut . Die U-Bahn Station vom Hotel ist nur wenige Gehminuten (5 Min) weiter weg und eine Busstation befindet sich direkt neben dem Hotel . Das Hotel & die Zimmer waren sehr sauber das Personal sehr freundlich . Die Umgebung war ruhig, würde aus meinem Empfinden her sagen, dass es eine mittelmäßig gute Lage ist . Für einen Städtetrip in Hamburg sehr gut geeignet . Zudem hat das Hotel einen Wellnessbereich, der enenfalls sauber & schön ist ! Die Zimmer entsprechen dem Standard und im Restaurant gibt es eine sehr große Terrasse mit Blick ins Grüne !

Forfærdelig varmt på hotellet og virkelig megen støj. Morgenmaden var også af ringe kvalitet. Det betød desværre at jeg måtte aflyse halvdelen af mit ophold på hotellet, så det var desværre en meget dyr oplevelse. Personalet var venligt, men virkede som om de ingen erfaring havde.

Die Einrichtung auf den Zimmern ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen! Aber zum übernachten für 1-2 Nächte völlig ok und zweckmäßig! Das Personal war sehr freundlich!

Vi ankom hotellet midt på natten. Vi ble godt tatt imot og mannen bak skranken var veldig behjelpelig med å ordne et nytt rom til oss. Det er veldig hyggelig betjening, rene rom, god frokost. Det er en overvåket parkering rett ved siden av hotellet. Anbefales!

Mülleimer wurde nicht geleert vor meiner Ankunft. Zimmermobliar ist schon in die Jahre gekommen. Keine Steckdose am Bett.

Der Empfang war überaus freundlich und wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt. Das Personal war insgesamt sehr hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer waren großzügig und die Betten sehr bequem (nicht zu weich). Die Fenster isolierten den Straßenlärm sehr gut, aber wir konnten auch bei geöffnetem Fenster sehr gut schlafen. Frühstück war reichhaltig und für jeden Geschmack war ausreichend gesorgt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und schnell. Es wurde jederzeit auf die Wünsche unserer Reisegäste eingegangen. Die Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption waren sehr kompetent und haben mit grossem Einsatz, unsere Wünsche erfüllt. Das einzige Manko war, dass, für mich, bei der Buchung nicht ersichtlich war, dass die U-Bahn Station "Horner Rennbahn" umgebaut wird. Es ist für Gruppen viel einfacher, ohne Umzusteigen zum HB zu kommen. Ich kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen, für Paare oder Familien, und hoffe dass die freundlichen und kompetenten Mitarbeiter dem Hotel dem Haus nich lange erhalten bleiben.

Frühstücksbuffet reichaltig. Preis aber nicht angemessen. O-Saft ungeniessbar.
