I recommend
The stay was part of a longer trip. The hotel was well situated, friendly staff, very clean and spacious room.
Praise for this hotel
A really good hotel - really helpful reception staff - nothing was too much trouble . Polite and welcoming . Highly recommended
Thought it was closer to the train station Zuid but my mistake. Very quiet area to relax
Staff were super friendly and really helpful.
Very close by to the central and away from the busy streets . Very clean staff are very helpful and friendly
Water flow in shower is too low. Shower head can not hold positions and falls
Upon arrival we noticed construction/ road works outfront which there was no mention of. Work coukd be heard from 7:30am as it was outside out room window. Rooms cleanliness was questionable, what looked like food to be stuck to parts of the walls, stains on other parts and generally needing a freshen up! Contacted and wasn't given any compensation. Id advise to book elesewhere!
HOTEL WAS LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL NEIGHBORHOOD, CLOSE TO PARKS, SHOPPING CENTER AND TRANSPORTATION TO METRO CONNECTION WHICH WE USED EVERYDAY TO EXPLORE AMSTERDAM. WE FELT VERY SAFE WALKING IN THE PARKS. BY THE WAY THE "GELDERLANDPLEIN MALL" HAS BEAUTIFUL SHOPS AND TWO BIG GROCERY STORES (5 MIN.WALK FROM HOTEL) ALSO HOTEL IS CLOSE TO SHIPHOL AIRPORT ONLY 15 MINUTE DRIVE TO AIRPORT.
its a bit far from the city centre and far from bus stop. early morning you can hear the noise from outside building construction.
It was good
Disappointed
We waited at least 20 minutes to check in and that took a while, we were told if we put a tag on our door to say don’t clean here we would get a free drink but as we were walking away from reception we were told it wasn’t an option at weekends could we give the tags back. My son was charged tax despite being a resident in the Netherlands. The shower head kept drooping making the shower difficult to use. The hotel itself was nice, beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. However the construction around the hotel meant we looked onto a building site and had to walk through muddy boarded walkways to get to the bus which was never on time meaning we often had to resort to a taxi to get to bookings we made. If you’re going into Amsterdam central I would stay closer next time personally.
Great experience overall definitely would go back💯💯
Hotel with a difference
Staff at the hotel were really friendly, and very helpful when we had a personal problem, especially the bar staff lady whose name I should have known but in all the confusion I missed
place for conference centre, easy to get around
Easy check-in / check-out. Really apricated the team ordering a cab for very early in the morning but also still offering tea/coffee/food which was much appreciated at 5.30.a.m. Great breakfast options and dinner was limited but OK
Perfect
The bedding was damp. And the mattress wet. Not something I enjoyed getting into after a long night out.
Consistently high-quality service.
The rooms are old and in serious need of updating. The server when we had dinner at the restaurant seemed very annoyed that we showed up wanting to eat. The self service shop was out of order for half of our stay and when it was finally fixed, it was completely out of bottled water. When we asked at the front desk if they knew when it would be refilled, he acted extremely irritated and said he didn’t know. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Due to the construction in front of the hotel, public transportation was not conveniently available, we had to walk around 1 km to go to the metro/tram
terrible service
the service is very poor, different receptionist different words, and they intended to charge much more city taxes
Great staff!
The hotel is very nice, and in a very good area. It was quiet, and the reception staff were amazingly helpful, especially Sarah and Zoe.
The staff were absolutely lovely
Lovely Hotel an service
Very nice hotel, large rooms staff really nice and friendly could not do enough.
The property was fine. Room cleaning needs improvement
first of all I want to be in this aerea. The staff is very helpful and very importent the garage in which you can park the car. The room is very nice and practical.
Great service
Good hotel. Wonderful front desk and bar service. Did not test the gym and sauna. But have hopes I can do next time I visit.
Lobby bar was nice to meet up with group. Breakfast is lovely
Very proper hotel
These folks ( night shift crew ) know how to treat someone with hospitality and customer service . I will be back again
Great stay. Little bit out of the centre of Amsterdam but with really good bus, train and tram links. Really comfortable beds and inviting decor.
Very friendly staff and clean facility. Easily accessible to the metro.
Staff were very friendly and super efficient
Excellent hotel in a quiet residential area.. close enough to train/metro/tram stations.
The room was large and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was little to far from the centre of Amsterdam, however once we found out the various public transport, it was reasonable ok to get too.
Body cream was not good!
The shower head kept falling off and the water pressure wasn’t great.
Good stay in Amsterdam
Very clean and well looked after. Decent size room and bathroom. Not walking distance to town centre and very few aminities nearby.
Clean, great rooms, great place to work, good wi-fi. Friendly staff. I enjoyed my 2 week stay here and would definitely return. Pet friendly if you need that.
Quite a nice hotel in a quite location. A bit far from the city centre but well connected with public transport. Would definitely stay again
Hotel Stay!
It’s a good enough, standard hotel. Has a kind of 1970s vibe to it the moment you walk into the reception area. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean. The bed was bordering on the firm side - pins and needles both mornings. The weirdest thing of all was that at weekends there is no bar or restaurant, and no room service after 5pm. It was suggested I could call Uber food deliveries!! Gotta say, I’ve never stayed in a hotel where this has been the case. Breakfast was good, and I’m booked back in again in September, so clearly I’m happy enough. I’m a keen walker, and liked the location - forty minute stride to the Rijksmuseum.
The planes that depart and arrive fromand to Schipol airport are flying over the property:((
The locks on the doors didn't work correctly endless trips to reception to either get another card or they came to let me into my room, first window blinds - second room had a broken chair and the general state of the rooms were 'tired' the flooring is old laminate flooring full of chips and scrapes which added to the general feel of the whole hotel. wouldn't stay here again.
Was very nice, and their staff member Elijah was very helpful and resocueful if that was my business I would be over the moon that I had a staff member like a Elijah. Very much appreciated
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Our third stay, we like it.
Property itself was good though found a strand of long hair on the bed right upfront, which wasn’t pleasant.
A good stay
The room was very nice and the staff as well. We got to check in early which was very nice!
Solid
Room was good and only a five minute walk and fifteen minute tram into Amsterdam central. Only complaint was the shower was only a trickle
Great location service as expected
Very convenient location for us. Consistently clean. Friendly helpful staff.
I keep coming back to this hotel every time im in amsterdam, the staff is great, its very clean and a good price! Will be back for sure!
Very clean, friendly staff, and the breakfast was very nice.
Very clean and lovely staff
Was perfect. Very clean. Lovely staff especially Sharon and Mike
Very nice rooms, quiet, good transport links to central
Overall, good stay. Quiet area, easy to get around. Pretty far from the center, but a good walk till there.
All was perfect place is so quite staff were very friendly and kind
Clean clean quiet hotel Beautiful ratio Relatively far away from the center but there is transport and it is recommended to use uber big if the distance for you is round then a hotel is worth the money up to 300 NIS worth a night
need upgrading
Rooms need upgrade: the floor is really worn out, the bathroom layout and door are a bit awkward and there is no electric plug where the desk is so if you need to have your laptop plugged in to work you need to stay in the chair next to the bed..
The spacious rooms are great. I’ve have used this hotel twice now and would stay again.
Not staying here again if I have to
The hotel was rated as 4-star, but it dosen't looks like a 4-star. The room is not comfort at all and not even big enough than a 3-star hotel room. The beds are sqeezing too much and the space to walk is very less. They had a big office desk which was occupying more space. We can't even keep our luggage and access it easily. Coming to daily cleaning service, they didn't remove the used coffee cups when I left them on the desk thinking that they can notice and replace the cups. The comforters are not big enough and also not good at all. The puff in the comforters are not spread evenly and so we felt cold in the middle of the night.
Good location
The standard room is a good size, not too small. Very clean room. Hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood (Zuidas Business District). There are afew decent restaurants within walking distance
We loved the fact that the hotel was in a selcluded area, so really nice and quiet, with great transport links for easy access to the sights. However, we were not warned of a fifty euro deposit that needed to be paid upon arrival along with the taxes
One of the best hotel stays I’ve had. Wonderful staff from the front desk, the gentleman greeting you at breakfast, bar staff and even fritz and frank the shuttle drivers! Can’t wait to come again!
It was good , but the only issue I faced that they are not accept 200 and five hundred euro note
Last minute trip
My too sons and I came to Amsterdam on a whim without much expectations and no accommodations. I’d heard about the parking challenges in the Center so I wanted to find a hotel close with good rail access, but far enough away where I could find an economical room and leave the car. The NH Zuid exceeded our wants and even more.
Very convenient for our needs. Suggest that the very high temperature of the hot water presents a real danger. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that the hot water be maintained at a temperature of 120 degrees farenheit. Higher temperatures represent a scalding risk.
Don't stay here, zero customer service
We were so shocked by this hotel and the utter lack of customer service that was demonstrated during our arrival. We came with our family, which is two adults and two young children and they forced us to buy a second room right on the spot saying that it is a policy that no more than 3 people can stay in a room at a time. The following day another receptionist told us that we were misinformed and there are larger rooms that can accommodate larger groups. Other than this woman, the staff were incredibly pretentious, unhelpful, and seemingly trying to make things difficult for us.
Good value
Front desk staff ranged from Doctor No to Miss Nice. We loved having the bikes a soto tent.
Very quiet, 20 minute walk from the metro into town
The hotel was mediocre but when they ran out of hot water, it was tough having to take a cold shower to start my very long day at a conference.
Great Accomodations, But Disorganized Service
Facilities were wonderful but they assured us over the phone that we would have a shabbat key (we even made a note in the reservation), but they did not have one when we arrived. Ultimately, the hotel staff was accomodating, however this took a fair amount of work on our part. They were disappointingly disorganized - each manager we spoke to told us they would accommodate us without need for further action and each time they failed to communicate this with their coworkers.
Good quality. Quite. Clean rooms. However, need to be refurnished and refreshed a bit
Poor Communication
I very much enjoyed my stay, though I was traveling with my assistance dog and it was not well communicated to the staff. I was walking through the door with the dog on my third day in the hotel and was stopped by two extremely concerned employees to be told dogs aren't allowed.I found this to be embarrassing and uncomfortable since I require the dog, and had put him on my reservation. Aside from this my stay was pleasant.
Good hotel. Clean and friendly. It is in good location.
Near to Zuid train station one can take a train from Schiphol airport to Zuid station and from there bus number 62 which has stop just in front of the hotel It is quite away from the main centre
Nice, friendly staff and a very clean, comfortable room.
The friendly and helpful staff .Fabian...shirley ..very patient aswell
NH hotels - always good value
All good except the second night my room was not made up. They gave me a free drink to compensate.
Staff were very helpful and polite. Nice clean hotel,
Because of renovations phones were t working and elevator was also being updated. The staff was so nice but had to go to front desk for housekeeping room service or anything you would normal call from the room for. There was also some mold found in the shower.
Disappointing first experience with NH hotels
There was confusion when we checked in, with the staff making a small mistake. Unfortunately they refused to apologise and tried to make it our fault that we had accepted the incorrect room key they’d given us. Combined with taking 50 euro payment at check in as a deposit, which hasn’t many been mentioned earlier and not being equipped with things such as a hairdryer this defiantly fell short of what I expect a 4 star hotel to be.
Location its good u have front of hotel bus station and for few min.u will be on metro station which one its directly going on the city center .Hotel its very clear and comfortable.
Business hotel. Nothing more and nothing less.
The beds were very uncomfortable. Other than that my stay was great
It is not a 4-star hotel, you need to change the rating for this property. The elevator is so slow and old. Breakfast is not like a 4-star property
Nice big room, with a great desk
Smart hotel handy for the business district. A little out of the way for tourists though excellent public transport links to the city centre (15 mins by Metro after a 10 min walk to the station). Excellent local shopping with Gelderlandplein shopping centre very nearby.
The goods: The staff were very very nice and accommodating. The location was not central but we actually don’t mind it’s a little further from all the crowded areas (is red light district etc). Bus 62 stop was right in front of the hotel and it takes you to the central of Amsterdam within 20 mins. We also used the hotel shuttle to Amsterdam main station once. That was a nice thing to have as we were going to the main train station almost everyday during our stay. We had dinner once at the restaurant on the first floor and find that it’s better than most hotel restaurant. Typically, we don’t enjoy hotel restaurants, but was pleasantly surprised with this one. The Ok: The room was too cold and the beds were a little hard. This is more on me for not checking dimensions, but the room was smaller than we expected. With 2 twin beds and a crib, the room was pretty tight. We had a hard time moving in and around with 2 luggages. Other than that, we did enjoyed our stay.
:)
Good enough for a stay in Amsterdam
All in all, a nice hotel in the South of Amsterdam but with some flaws... Conveniently located between the airport and the city centre, with bus 62 stopping just in front (but about every 15') and metro and tram within 10' walking distance in a residential area. Close to big parks, but no nearby attractions. Quite friendly staff, but very slow checkin and checkout. I had asked for not having twin beds before coming, knowing that we would be arriving late and was given the stupid "based on availability at checkin" answer - just reserve the correct room and this will define availability! And as expected, we got twins when checking in... Relatively small (and thus expensive for the size) room with very small bathroom, but equipment OK. Nice bed, a bit too hard. Clean. Overpriced breakfast - you have better and cheaper options within walking distance. Did not try the restaurant.
Quiet part of city
I enjoyed our stay at NH Amsterdam Zuid. About 20 minute walk to Metro. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel but we always walked to the Metro station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Except they did not know that Metro line 51 does not run 24 x 7.
Super hotel just outside Amsterdam
This hotel is fantastic!!!! The rooms were the size of American hotel rooms with a lot of space. Even though it is outside Amsterdam, there are busses and trams, just across from the hotel, that take will you anywhere with ease. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choices. The cost was also good and I booked online at hotels.com. Great place with great staff. I would recommend this to anyone going to Amsterdam!
Great hotel. Was a pleasures to stay at
We stayed at the hotel for two night and it was a wonderful experience and a great place to stay at. The rooms were clean and modern and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us as it was close enough to airport and close enough to center of town without being right in the center. Highly recommended for anyone going to Amsterdam.
Don’t think ‘bout it
Price-Expensive. Hotel-Garbage. Everything was broken. Shower-Zero pressure. AC-“which AC”? Location-In middle of nowhere
Great service definitely would recommend it to anyone going to Amsterdam. Close to the centre in a quite area.
The reception staff were wonderful! The room was clean, shower head and water pressure were fabulous and location couldn't be beat.
Pleasant hotel with great breakfast
Very good breakfast buffet. Nice and calm neighborhood
A nice hotel with quiet rooms. We stayed room only but if you did want a breakfast it was quite pricey at 19$ per person the first morning and 17$ the next following mornings. There was not many cafes close by or restaurants but we mainly stayed in the Centre of Amsterdam for our meals. The downside is the distance to the Centre. It is a 10 minute walk to the tram from the hotel (a lovely walk through the park) and a 30 minute tram ride so it could take an hour to get to your destination. It cost 48$ for a two day travel pass so if you are spending a week it could be quite costly. You can hire bikes from the hotel and there is a shuttle bus. The staff were really helpful and pleasant.
Good hotel to get away from the city
Very nice 4 star hotel outside of the main city of Amsterdam. The room was nice, comfortable, and had a/c for the warm summer days. Uber got us to Amsterdam in about 15 minutes for about 17 euro. We booked a room for 3 people and the room was not ready upon our arrival, as it only had two single beds. We asked for a third bed and when we returned to the hotel just before midnight, it has still not been done. They were kind enough to give us a separate room for one of us that night for free. The next day we asked for the third bed and it was set up in the afternoon as a rollaway bed or cot. Not what we thought we would have. We expected three single beds of the same quality. The breakfast buffet was good, though predictable and way too expensive at 19 euro per person. You can find cheaper and better breakfast with a quick Yelp search. This all being said, the hotel was nice and we enjoyed our stay even with the three bed situation not being prepared at arrival or resolved the first night.

A lovely, clean hotel that provided everything we needed for a weekend away. There is a shopping mall near by for anything else we needed. The hotel is quite far from the centre, but it was an easy hour’s stroll into the city, or a short train journey away.
