Joan and Jim went above and beyond during our stay, treating us with such kindness and generosity. Their new Otter cabin was gorgeous and extremely comfortable. We'll be back!
The Resort was very well organized and the cabins were wonderful. Each cabin nicely decorated and and you can tell a lot of thought, caring were put into them. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing and it was just what we needed. There is a dock, porch and firepit with each cabin that provide wounderful amenities, but icing on the cake is friendliness of the owners. We are planning to come back and stay for a longer visit in the future. We are telling our friends and family of our fantastic time and great experience at this Resort.
Canoe with cabin rental. Great Lake for canoeing!
Cabin was just OK Strange set up: no living area to speak of, just bedrooms and kitchen. We sort of would have liked a couch w fireplace because it rained most of the time we were there Also you cannot sit straight on toilet because shower stall wall is too close to it. Our cabin was a second tier cabin so I’m sure the main cabins on the lake are nicer but really for over $200 a night it could have been a little more
Calm, peaceful, quiet and beautiful.
Last place available in Ely MN because of the Harvest Festival and 1968 High School Class Reunion. It was just Perfect. Such a lovely location with a very good view. Not the best view, which is probably why it was still available, but a very pleasant view of the lake through the trees. We had to bring our own towels, but everything else was provided. After a little bit of caution about the water we found out they have a natural spring that they have incorporated as their water supply. We booked one night and then added another and would have done a third if it had been available. . Jim and Joan Blauch were excellent hosts, very easy to talk to and a good source of information. We are looking forward to return next year.
This was our second time here and we thoroughly loved it! Off the beaten path, beautiful views and sandy beaches for the kids to swim!
Wonderful Northern Minnesota small family run resort where you can be adventurous or just relax and enjoy the views. The five lake front cabins are very clean and well maintained with great lake views and each has their own dock and canoe for use. If you don't have your own boat, the owners can rent you one with a motor at very reasonable price. You can canoe into the Boundary Waters from you dock or you can take a guided tour portaging into more remote Boundary Waters Lakes. They can also outfit you for multiday trips. The amenities of Ely are 10 to 15 minutes away as our many hiking trails. The owners Joan and Jim are superb at helping you make your vacation great. Highly recommend
Really nice cabin on the lake.
Amazing!!! If you want some time to relax and forget about the problems.
Beautiful place to stay
Just what we expected! We didn't use it to the fullest just because there are so many things to do in Ely, but this was a perfect place to come back to in between each activity. It's just outside of town 10 minutes and it's on the way to many popular hiking trails. This resort has lots of things to occupy you if you stick around long enough! Loved being on the lake having our own private dock and fire pit. Beautiful place to stay.
Nice cabin with private dock
Only complaint is how hard the water is. Unable to get grease off dishes even with plenty of soap. Very comfortable cabin. Owners aim to please and very cordial. Would stay again if the opportunity arises.
Nice cabin.
Very clean, very friendly. We stayed at White Pine cabin across from the lake-drawback was no parking by the cabin and no living room area in cabin (didn't know that until we got there) so with 5 people it felt a little cramped. The sandy beach advertised is actually between two other cabins and is basically in their area so a little awkward. But the lake is beautiful the owners are gracious and the cabin is very clean.
After a long canoe trip
It was nice after a long canoe trip. It had room to play cards and could sleep 5 adults easily.
Awesome Hosts!
This resort was so beautiful, the cabins have a perfect view of the lake! The Hosts were amazing! They were very kind and welcoming. It was an awesome trip and can't wait to come back!
Nice quiet resort
We stayed for 1 night. We were doing a road trip of the Iron Range and North Shore. It's a nice family run resort. Very nice and comfortable. Owner's made us feel very welcome.
