Me and my family stayed at this resort for three days and the overall experiencing was good. Staff is very friendly every-time you ask any questions they are more than happy to answer. If you have kids this resort is for you, they have a children’s pool, children’s club and activities throughout the week. The food in general if your not a picky eater it’s good, they have the main buffet and three other restaurantes you can reserve for lunch/dinner.
Impressed with the level of service. Avid traveler and this Resort exceeded my expectations. Please consider VIP upgrades to have the opportunity to visit other affiliate resorts for dinning.
We loved everything can’t wait to come back
clean and friendly
I'm not a fan of resorts when I am on holiday but this was a very good experience. Cleanliness is the most important thing for me and the hotel was very clean, even the courtesy rooms. Buffett could do with some variety as there is a lot of pork. A map or tour of the grounds on arrival would prove beneficial so you know what the resort has available along with the entertainment itinerary.
The best I love two day bust really good thank you very much
Fantastic stay at a great resort with great facilities, thoughtful and responsive staff, on a fantastic island with loads to do.
Theres was no stay, Thea did not have a Rom for us and we have for it.
Do never book this hotel, you may not have a room
We booked and paid a hotel room for 3 persons from 24-25/11 through hotels.com and even though we had a booking confirmation, the receptionist told us that there were no rooms available. So we were standing late night without a place to sleep!. Unacceptable breach of trust and they failed to take just the slightest responsibility for their errors. Stay away! Do not put any trust in these people.
Staff was friendly. Very big property. Beautiful beach scenery. I wish there were more snack/food areas if you missed buffet time slots.
It was very good but if you want to try other restaurants on site you have to book them from day one ( mistake we've made).
In general was a really good experience, our room was nearby the pool ans the restaurant. We couldn't enjoy the A la Carte restaurants for dinner as they were fully booked, we were hiven the lunch option but we didn't take it. The food in the buffet we really good and the variety from lical food to international cuisine. Only issue was the towels in the room, the moment they take it to replace you suffer to get new ones has they only bring it by dinner time, and if you were lucky to get one. I had to call housekeeping 3 times on the same night to get one.
The staff are great and professional. The food and the drinks could be a little better.
My phone did not work for the duration of my stay and they never fixed it.
Lovely experience
Lots of positives. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Our bedroom recieved a thorough clean each day and we received fresh towels each day. Lots of food choices including a buffet and several a la carte. We were here 1 week amd had no problems booking a different restaurant each night by going to the booking service at 1030 in the odyssey bar ( next to the piano). Food was excellent. Hotel has several pools and direct access to the beach. No problems getting a sunbed. No mosquitos but bring your spray just in case.
It's a large and well maintained hotel complex on a stretch of excellent beach. We loved the location, the weather of course, lots of wildlife, birds, turtles and butterflies. The staff are mostly young in age and very friendly and helpful. Service in the bars, restaurants and poolside are all very good. The housekeeping for our room often didn't turn up until 6pm and on the last 2 days we were there they didn't turn up at all. This was despite our leaving the 'please clean our room' notice on our door for them to see. I phoned down to reception a couple of times but reception did not answer. That wasn't very good and not what we would expect from a 5-star hotel.
Awesome hotel. Staff was amazing.
Very disappointed with Josimar front desk staff he was unprofessional with us he don’t know how to treat the customer...but I appreciate you Stephanie for the great service keep doing what you do to make us happy
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. PLEASE AVOID. Shower water is yellow, the resort is absolutely understaffed, employees were hiding. it was CHAOTIC. Restaurant are already fully booked when you arrive, and food (restaurant or buffet) is just horrible. We ended up taking a cab to eat in Santa Maria. Wifi does not work, dirty everywhere. People around me were as much horrified as me. A lot of very upset people. How come this rating is so high ? Are the other reviews fake ???
This complex is ok but the beaches or very rocky impossible to swim. There’s not shuttle to the airport. The reception staff are completely slow like your a number and all the want is to get more money out you . I’ve been to many Melia ressort this one is a no go for me...
The Dunas resort is divided in two, SOL Dunas and MELIA Dunas. We stayed on Melia side - which was more adult/couple suitable and the Sol side more family or younger family orientated. The complex was clean and well kept. The pools and facilities (such as communal toilets) were spotless. Our room was large and clean, with fridge and good air conditioning, there was also kettle and hairdryer and a free to use safe for valuables. The food buffet was great and we loved having 4 restaurants to book for dinner if we wanted something more formal. There are also many bars to grab that late night drink or nightcap ! The Gabi beach bar and the beachcomber bar provided drinks at the beach and there were swim up pool bars for refreshments (drinks) poolside! Drinks really were all inclusive- spirits(local but extensive) wine, beer, cava, Prosecco, and cocktails- we had zero addition spend! The only downside is the 6 hour layover in Lisbon outward , but we survived! We will definitely be going back!
we stayed here for 4 days and it was nothing short of perfect. We wished we had stayed longer. The ambience was great, even better than the pictures. Food was great too and literally all inclusive, meaning you don’t have to pay for breakfast, lunch, dinner or even drinks. Everything is covered in the cost of the room. Totally amazing! The pools are relaxing and great too.
The biggest resort I ever been on. Very comfortable
We were very disappointed with this hotel. Booked as a 5 star hotel, and for a €200 room per night, the deluxe room we stayed was very dirty, shower in the suite in terrible conditions, damaged furniture, poor food (canned fruit for example), etc... Fortunately the local staff with their incredible hospitality and friendless made it bearable.
Great rooms poor food
The hotel is nice, nice rooms, swimming pools and bars. It is clean. We could put 5 stars, but the food is really not good, that's why we give 3 stars.
Meliá Dunas Hotel caro e sem qualidade
Quartos com mobiliario velho, usado, gasto. Não ha candeeiros de leitura. Tv não funcionava. Maq cafe avariada. Casa de banho com pouca luz. Comida no restaurante buffet, péssima qualidade. Landscape muito bom, piscinas optimas, localização do resort excelente. Qualidade muito má
The rooms are old furnished, with broken tiles and litteraly full of mosquitoes as there are no mosquitoes nets at the windows. The bathroom has a bath tub with a non-inviting colour and some mold and not even an handle for the hand-towel next to the sink. Very bad isolation as well. The food quality is really poor (a la carte gets a bit better, but not always). The staff is not well trained and gives continuously wrong information and directions. When at the beach, you get endlessly asked to buy souvenires and you can't really bathe in the sea because of the rocks. Not a 5 Stars Resort. A nightmare. Never again.
Brrr Bref moyen
Excellent service by personal.
L’hôtel all inclusive est bien. Personnel sympathique.
Bv. onduidelijkheid over bandjes, Level. Level lounge was dicht.
Hyggelig personale.
Bra service, hyggelige personale.
Not even 2 Stars. Really crapy.never again
The service was a bit disappointing. The checkin was horrible, it took very long and I did not really get a lot of information along with the hotel documents. So I found out most of the stuff the next days. The reception always had long queues and you waited a long time to get a question answered. Also it seemed that staff at the reception always had to call someone to get info or an approval. The hotel definitely looks like it needs some maintenance. For this price, I was disappointed.
Correcto
We really liked everything the dood was good, the workers are Nice Lots of Pools. We are coming back next year
Bert good
Vacances réussi !!! C’était merveilleux
Nao recomendo nao foi nada bom a estadia la.
Ansonsten super Hotel. Restaurant ala cart waren aber top.
Staff at atlantis : maria leonardo elton artur jose and many more - the real capital of this socalled 5 star resort all in = boom boom till am ev no eletricity and no internet to watch even carbo verde on very very poor tv
Not bad but not really worth it.
We arrived a little early to the resort but were told our room would be ready by 3pm. It was almost 4pm by the time it was ready. When we got to the room, we realised that the queen bed was actually a standard double. The person who took us to our room advised us the mini bar would be filled around 5pm. It was never filled. We slept really badly the first few nights with lots of back pain. Eventually, we lifted the mattress to find various support slats were missing. After we reported this to reception, they had it repaired and we slept much better. As we'd paid for The Level, we were advised on our second morning that we could alternate breakfasts at The Level breakfast in our resort and the one next door at melia llana. We did this and it was great, as it's an adults only hotel. Sadly, on our last morning, they had introduced a new vip level, meaning we lost the right to this service. As such, I don't think I'd recommend paying extra for The Level for anyone thinking of going in future. The food offering was very good - better than other all inclusive resorts I've been to. But we weren't advised to book restaurants in advance and, at the peak period of the year that is new year, we were only able to book the new year's eve night (which we did in advance) and one other included dinner. The best thing about the resort is definitely the staff. They obviously really want to help and make sure you're having a good time. They go out of their way to be friendly and helpful.

Most Sever Food Poisoning Ever! AVOID AT ALL COST
The hotel is nice, a little tired but nice. Unfortunately on day 2 I got the most severe food poisoning ever - 24 hours of vomiting, Diarrhoea, fever, chills, nausea etc. and then went to see the on-site Dr. I spent 4 hours on a drip, and was discharged with medication for 3 further days - which cost me Euro430 The next few days, Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th, I was still under the weather, nausea and unable to eat properly, Sunday 16th, I still couldn't eat but felt a little better. It's now been a week (19th March) and I am still unable to eat properly and waiting to see my GP I spoke to Guest Services and they said "I can't prove I didn't leave the resort so they hold zero accountability" They wished me better but never said sorry - they also lied to me saying no one else got sick - I took a very bad turn on flight home and air stewards looking after me, said they had 3 others on the flight from the Melia Dunas with the same symptoms I spent 5 of the 7 days there sick, unable to eat more than white rice / bread rolls It's not a cheap holiday and zero apologies, just lies and the offer to "bring me food to my room" So angry!
