Beautiful rainforest resort

This is the most beautiful resort we have ever stayed at. Everything was perfect. Our villa with our private pool overlooking the rainforest was so private and relaxing. The buffet breakfast was great, the sunset drinks during happy hour at the tree bar were delicious. The Balinese dances during dinner were different every night. I loved the daily yoga, we did a cooking class and had massages at the spa. It was a perfect holiday. The wifi was also awesome and was super fast everywhere in the resort including all the outside areas. Would definitely go back again.

This is an exclusive property with very good hospitality. That's about as straightforward as I can be for this 5/5 review. The staff are exceedingly good at making sure that guests feel welcome and taken care of during their stays. In particular, we would commend Mr. Ganga (our personal concierge), Ms. Nila (who graciously received us at check-in), Ms. Dewi (excellent host for our breakfast), and Mr Manar (filled in when Ganga was not there). Exceedingly good service requires a team to make it this way and we especially felt it with these people.

Lovely hotel, a little dated in parts. All the staff were friendly. The buffet breakfast was basic and quite limited compared to equivalent hotels.

I stayed at this hotel for one night and appreciated the warm welcome with a cool oshibori towel and a refreshing drink. The check-in process was efficient, and the front office staff provided helpful information about breakfast, the morning yoga session, and shuttle service to Ubud Center. However, I think it would enhance the guest experience if they also mentioned additional amenities, such as acknowledging Expedia VIP benefits and introducing their unique photography service. The swimming pool area was a highlight, with friendly and attentive attendants who made our time enjoyable. I had a chance to use the fitness center. While I utilized the fitness center, I found that the equipment seem rusty and dusty. I also participated in the morning yoga session, where the instructor was exceptionally patient and supportive, making it a great experience for a beginner like me. The breakfast options are impressive, providing a diverse range of choices along with healthy drinks that are both tasty and enjoyable. The Wedang Jahe stands out as a particularly refreshing and delicious option. Additionally, the staff in the restaurants are consistently friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. Overall, the stay was good, but there are definitely areas that require improvement for an even better guest experience.

I transferred from an incredibly disappointing stay at ibah ubud in hopes of ending my Bali trip in a relaxing and upscale resort. Maya exceeded my expectations. Everything about my stay was spectacular. I will be back :)

My wife and I stayed at Maya Ubud as the last destination of our honeymoon to Bali. The property was beautiful, the shared pools were scenic, verdant, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a Heavenly Pool Villa with Butler Service & King Bed. While it was nice to have a secluded space to ourselves, I can say the room was nice but it did not live up to the photos. The pool was smaller than anticipated and the view wasn’t exactly what we had imagined. In terms of proximity, it’s really close Ubud Central, within a short Grab (Bali’s Uber) to get there. And there are a ton of good restaurants and cafes for any meals within a 5-20 mins ride away. The hotel offers a free shuttle service that will take those staying at the resort to Ubud Central. It leaves the hotel at the top of the hour and drops you at a specific point. If you’re in town and looking to return to the resort, you can catch the shuttle at the pick up point at 20 mins after the hour. We opted out of the breakfast to experience some of the great dining options in Ubud. That said, we did get room service one evening and from that experience I wouldn’t even bother eating at the resort as you can get way better meals/drinks for cheaper elsewhere. Some of our favourites in Ubud were: Pison, Sayan House, Plant Bistro and Honey & Smoke. If you’re looking for a place to unwind and relax during your time in Ubud, I would recommend Maya. Service is good and the Villas are peaceful

Amazing location and great breakfast, but that’s almost about it. We have been here in 2023 and really looked forward to staying again, but the current service is far below what we expected: service is slow and forgot multiple orders (repeatedly), the butler service is basically useless (doesn’t even deliver promised water to the villa), and the „best spa in town“ is good, but really nothing special - especially for a price where one can get better in Singapore. Location is still amazing, but the rest sadly quite disappointing

This is the beautiful place I've ever stayed. The pools are in lush jungle. The breakfast was fantastic, both in quality and selection. The service was 12/10. Our butler, Eka, gave us his phone number to WhatsApp him any time we needed anything and delivered it promptly. The staff would come knock every evening to ask if we needed fresh towels or anything. They had a scooter delivered to us when they saw us leave the hotel to go rent our own. There was some beautiful dining entertainment, and you can cast Netflix or something from your phone to the TV in your room to watch your shows/movies at night. I can't say enough about my stay here. You will enjoy every moment.

The place is beautifully, super clean and the staff is amazing!! My husband and I will surely miss everyone and our relaxing time there.

Maya ubud is a beautiful property with great location. . The both pools are amazing. The gym too small for the amount of guest they have. The butler service was great. Kind and helpful staff. The private suite we had with pool and butler was very small. Very small pool and no view for the pool at all so it really doesn’t match with the pictures on-line and it needs maintenance , the tiles and everything about the pool was not attractive. We didn’t do buffet but a la carte breakfast has great food and staff. The dinner was amazing too . Overall I wish the room could live up to the photos and my only disappointment was the private pool. Special thanks to all the staff

This resort made us feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. Everyone has a smile and seems to be happy to serve. I cant speak enough about the quality of customer service.

Nice hotel, great service, hippie chic vibes, the villas are beautiful and you feel immersed in the jungle. We did plenty of experiences the floating journey breakfast, private chef at the villa, massages (best we have ever had). We would recommend for couples and families!

Amazing property right near central Ubud but tucked into the jungle with rice fields so you never hear the noise. The property drops off into a jungle with a creek running through that’s honestly a wild view. Two amazing pools, awesome spa, resort is 10/10 if you’re staying in Ubud

Amazing place. From the moment we stepped onto the property we were greeted by incredibly friendly staff, and they remained super helpful and friendly our entire stay. The food was amazing and so was everything else about this property. If we ever go back to Bali we know where we will be staying! The amenities and pools were awesome. The setting of the river pool was unlike anything we had ever seen. Would highly recommend the spa at Maya as it was a great experience and setting.

Just incredibly beautiful and serene. It was very pricey - $250 per night for a room for two. After visiting Bali now, I am not entirely sure I'd pay that much for this property. It doesn't take away how awesome it is. The other options that - while not as mind blowing - are incredibly better value for money.

Relaxation in Ubud

Maya Ubud is always a special place for us, almost like a home away from home. I can’t recommend it enough. Great food and service. The nightly shows are a must. A very relaxing stay.

Maya has all you expect from a Bali resort hotel. Not unique or special. Lovely staff tho inflexible for small requests like late checkout

Maya Ubud is in a quiet and beautiful setting. There is a hiking trail within the property that is incredible. Lush grounds, beautiful pools, and friendly staff. We stayed in one of the villas with plunge pool. So quiet and relaxing.

Was an overall awesome relaxing experience settled in the rainforest of ubud. A one stop shop for swimming eating, entertainment, relaxing…. Just A short 10min drive to the center of ubud for shopping and other eats.

Great hotel with amazing staff, lots of amenities, great for families with kids as well as couples

This was our third visit and the first with our kids. It was meant to be the final 2 days as a special treat. The booking was mixed up and we were only booked for one night. The 2 rooms that were meant to be side by side were not. The gods have certainly left Ubud. A cacophony of noise, smog and decay. Luckily for us the second day was booked in error for Maya Sanur. Day and night. A stunning resort with great staff. Bypass Ubud and head straight for Saunr.

The staff went above and beyond to keep my stay as comfortable as possible. My personal butler Aris was absolutely wonderful answering my texts even when he was off duty! The staff were very attentive, friendly, and accommodating everywhere on the property! I definitely would rebook a villa here!

absolutely beautiful resort, many activities to do within the resort, the staff is friendly, humble and accommodating. The evening shows are nice, food was good several restaurant within the resort to choose from, we set up a spa day as well and it was beautiful. The spa is located next to the river and you can hear the water while getting a massage, if there is any cons which aren't really cons, its that you are in the jungle, so there is many bugs, critters and other kind of wildlife, the bathrooms in the lobby/restaurant areas do not have air conditioning, and twice i walked in and was greeted by BIG lizard/Iguana things in the stalls. Again, it is the Jungle so I didn't let it bother me. The bell boy warned us of the monkeys that like to show up in the early morning around the villas. But again we didn't mind. Overall the Villa was beautiful and relaxing. I would love to go back to this resort one day. Of course, whenever I am mentally and physically prepared for that 24 hour flight from California. lol

Small from towels

We booked a few nights here for our honeymoon. The location, the resort, and the staff made us feel like we were in paradise, entrenched in a forest setting. We were surprised by a lovely cake and decorations for our room for our honeymoon. The staff are super friendly and tentative. The entire staff work together to make sure we get the best service. Sadewa was very friendly and attend to our every needs during breakfast. He has support from, Sutrisna, Diaksa, and Dewi when he’s busy with other guests so we are always attend to. Our room came with butler service and Agus made our trip stress-free with any questions or needs taken care of. Such a wonderful resort and a distressing time after the wedding. Thank you to the entire Maya staff from the front desk, housekeeping, kitchen, engineering, and butler service making our trip the most relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely come back every year.

Maya Ubud doesn’t disappoint

Hotel is a lovely oasis to the bustling streets of Ubud. The room was very comfortable, the 2 infinity pools complete luxury and the Spa is truly memorable. All of the people who work on the property couldn’t be nicer.

Beautiful resort, lovely private villa with pool in a quiet picturesque part of Ubud. The Spa service was amazing. All the staff were exceptional, with nothing being too difficult.

During there happy hour asked a question and was told they'd find out and helped everyone around us but no one came back. I had go up to the place they make drinks get my bill and leave.

Excellent resort and service at the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon and would definitely recommend to our family and friends.

Facilities and maintenance sucks as water was clogging in wash basin and bath tub. Also the flush was getting stuck which made water flowing from toilet flush. I had to call plumber maintenance to get repaired. I had a great expectation as my wife had highly recommend as dhe had stsyed here 5 years back

The stay was amazing. The resort staff were fantastic and super helpful. The amenities were the best. Lots of options to eat and drink on site through out the stay. The two pool areas were top notch. Both totally offered something different and it was nice to switch it up. Plus, the gym area and forest walk were perfect ways to stay active. We stayed in the heavenly pool suites, and it was a perfect way to stay our relaxing trip. The managers and staff were all top notch. Big thank you to the three in the photo.

Loved this hotel and property. The staff is excellent!

The staff at the resort was very nice. The front desk assisted me with booking a taxi through the hotel. I don’t remember the price, but it was very affordable and the taxis stay with you the entire time. The breakfast buffet options to were okay but they allow you to order omelette and bring it out to you which is even better. Housekeeping staff was also nice and kept my room clean on a daily basis. The hotel provided me with the butler, who assisted me throughout my stay with whatever I needed. On my birthday they brought out a cake to breakfast for me.

My time at Maya Ubud was nothing short of outstanding. This meticulously maintained resort offers everything you need for an unforgettable stay. Tucked away amidst the lush jungle, this resort felt like paradise. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the sheer beauty of the surroundings. The resort was immaculately maintained, with every amenity imaginable to make my stay unforgettable. Whether I wanted to lounge by one of the two infinity pools (one for adults only), take a yoga class, explore the walking trails, or hop on a bike for a ride. What really impressed me was the seamless blend of luxury and nature in the resort's decor. Maya even has rice terraces on the property, which added a special touch. Let's take a minute to talk about the staff—they were exceptional! The service and attention to detail were fantastic. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful, offering superb recommendations for things to see and do in the area. And let's not forget about the food! The diverse culinary options at Maya Ubud were a true delight, with the breakfast buffet being a particular highlight. I'll never forget the care and personal touch provided by Supervisor Sutrisna and his team, who went above and beyond to ensure that every meal was an unforgettable experience. Every morning, as I made my way to the resort's dining area, I was greeted by Sutrisna's warm smile and genuine enthusiasm.

We booked for March and due to a family illness we had to put off until Aug. We requested a change in December, but they refused. Last week they accepted the change for an extra USD110 per night. Expedia did nothing. Buyer beware...

The pool villa and resort was a perfect combination of having access to other people and having our own boogie little space. The staff was wildly service orientated, the river pool was neat, the resturaunt had good foot, and the walking paths around the resort are nice! They also had Legong dance our final night which had two dozen musicians and a half dozen dancers - it was a GREAT viewing experience included in the amenities!

Happy to share my experience at Maya Ubud. First of all, amazing staffs with professional and friendly service. We only stay inside the hotel during our stay and enjoyed lots of programs provided by Maya. They offer all different kinds of programs for complimentary such as morning yoga, meditation, afternoon tea etc and even some with extra fee. Food options were pretty good too and great to have 24 hours room service with variety of menu options. Received two spa treatment sessions. They are a bit pricy compared to the ones in downtown, but should definitely try because they offer treatments outdoor in the middle of the jungle! It was such a refreshing experience for my party. Very safe property with securities and they even have pick up service by golf carts every-single-time on request. Definitely recommend this property!!

Beautiful food, people, spa, grounds and the rooms were incredible. Security guys at front made me feel safe as they man the grounds very well. It also includes lots of amazing free activities like meditation, yoga and walking tours. The floating Brekky in the pool is a major highlight. Do yourself a favour and book this resort. Just wow!

This is our favorite resort in the world, we stayed at Maya Ubud every single time we visited Bali…sometimes for a week and sometimes for a month. The property is so peaceful with lush vegetation, two most beautiful pools and the area of the resort is huge. It is so nice to come back to the resort after busy and crowded visi to Ubud. still Maya is just 10-15 minutes away from all attractions. and the best part of this resort is the people that work here. We made many friends over the years and we are always felt that we came back home upon returnong to Maya. Thank you and we are looking forward to our next stay at Maya Ubud.

We had a great stay with the property being well appointed.. The twice daily service was non intrusive.. Customer service was perfect both at reception, in the dining area and transport requests throughout the day.

Hidden gem just outside Ubud, Bali

Truly one of the best of the many hotels I have stayed in around the world. The setting, staff and food were all exceptional. Particularly memorable staff were Dek Rika, Yumi and Aya in the wonderful Tree Bar overlooking the forest, but all staff were so attentive and friendly. Bali is a fabulous island and I would return just to return to this fabulous hotel. I cannot recommend it more highly.

Property is nice surrounded by jungle however we couldn't sleep properly as we had Gecko lizard in our room and was making too much noise. We couldn't sleep properly because of this noise. Staff caught one later but we were still able to hear on our second day possibly another one and i got advised that gecko is common here as hotel is close to nature. My point is these things should stay out of the room not inside otherwise what's the point of paying that much if you can't even sleep properly.

Absolutely beautiful

It’s a really good resort but too pricey and should give complimentary breakfast. That’s the only set back!

We stayed 8 nights at this wonderful resort and it was so relaxing! Ticked all the boxes: friendly and helpful staff, great facilities, lush jungle outlook with awesome pools and tasty food selections. The spa treatment was amazing. Also loved the program of activities at the hotel. There's a shuttlebus to take you a short drive to Ubud centre and it was easy to get a driver and explore well beyond Ubud.

The hospitality at maya ubud is unmatched from all previous experiences at other hotels. If staying in ubud, this resort is the place to be. Also, I huge shoutout to one of the workers ganggawir, he was exceptional and made sure everything went well for me and the wife during are stay. He went above and beyond with every little thing when caring for us. Thank you ganggar and maya ubud!

Everything was wonderful!

A true relaxing sanctuary in the middle of Bali’s lush garden forests. A massive sprawling resort with private villas and hotel rooms with magnificent scenic views. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffet with awesome views. So sad our stay had to come to an end. Will hopefully return one day and would definitely recommend for others to stay. Thank you J.S

Excellent resort which has been well maintained. It is in a peaceful riverside but within 5 minute drive from ubud town. The staff are all excellent and very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The food menu was terrible. The menu needs a redesign. I did a cooking course at the resort and the food in that was amazing but not on the main menus. The staff were at times unfriendly and felt unhelpful or empathetic. Like my pool was broken for a day but I wasn’t offered a cocktail or anything to say “sorry”. Staff over dinner wasn’t enough and food and drinks orders were poorly managed. Like ordering something then told it wasn’t available 30 mins later. Or only clearing half the table.

Beautiful surroundings we only spent two days there so didnt get to enjoy alot of the facilities this place had to offer. The room overlooked the forest and so did the resturant. The food in the hotel was very good. I highly recommend this resort. The yoga in the morning was my favorite activities. I would stay here again. Only downside is they knew we were coming and yet our room was not ready for 2.40pm. Staff was very nice we had a very relaxing time.

A diamond in UBUD

Hotel is a beauty in UBUD, personal is very helpful. Service, food, hotel installations are EXCELLENT. 200% recommended to stay at Maya UBUD. They have transfer from Denpasar airport with a charge, but believe that the 1.30 hours drive is worth it.

There were many moments of communication difficulty with the staff at breakfast and dinner. Some servers don't speak English well enough to get the order made properly. Also, the sliding glass doors to the Villas LOCK when closed and no one told us this. We were locked outside our Villa in the heat without shoes for over 1/2 an hour! When management came to let us in, they did not take responsibility for the oversight nor did they offer any compensation for our trouble. I do not consider this to be a 5 Star hotel. Perhaps a 3 or 4 star, but not 5.

Wonderful experience; the resort was beautiful and very quiet. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. A lot of activities to do on the resort!

Great view and very private.

Excellent property

Incredible property. Beautiful grounds. It is nestled in nature; there is a river that runs through the property on one side, and on the other there is a rice field. The Hotel has been here for more than 20 years. If you want to relax and have a peaceful stay in Ubud ; this is where to go. The staff is very attentive, the facilities are immaculate, and will be aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye.

Best resort in the world !its a jungle !its like a dream ,but dont try early check in as they are very bad in this aspect !the pools are just amazing ,ice terrace is just inside the boundaries.

A beautiful green resort situated quite conveniently to Ubud with a shuttle bus provided every hour. While Ubid is lovely, the traffic is vile, so it os tempting to stay in and make use of the lovely resort, it’s bars and restaurants, daily activities evening dance performances and the spa of your dreams

I loved my stay here. The property and grounds are amazing and I loved the spa and pool by the river. I felt so centred and relaxed. Great buffet breakfast and lovely staff.
