Have to call for everything no one in office. Called for check in. Also for breakfast no one came to open so we just left so don't count on breakfast.

Don’t let the parking areas define your opinion of the facility. The room was clean and had amenities that are usually found only in high end facilities. A bathroom heater, iron and ironing board and a refrigerator!

Good cheap place close to downtown

Nice visit

Nice place in a small town. Walking distance to almost everything. I went for the 3 day photo shoot at the train.

While the property is a bit "rough and rustic," we needed a comfy bed and a hot shower for an overnight when passing through town. It fit the bill. Have to give a shout out to manager Billy, who went out of his way to accommodate us and make sure that our stay was a pleasant one. Thanks, Billy.

We were surprised when we opened door to room. It was dirty. Smell was terrible. Tv did not work at all the front desk guy…..who was very kind……went and had to get a new tv. Not impressed at all. So noisy at night the neighbours. Never again.

Not good!

While listed as a Hotel, it was clearly a Motel. The property was run down. Carpets and bed skirt stained and room had a bad smell. Did not stay, went to another Hotel.

This motel had a lack of most everything, it is old and under repair. There was a lack of personnel, cleanliness, and maintenance. The maintenance guy was doing everything!

There was a white dirty towel in my bathroom and the towels are brown not white the parking lot was full of trash and the asphalt was all busted up there was no one at the office when I checked in had to drive to the other property to get my keys no ice at either property no milk for breakfast at the breakfast bar and my key quit working when I got back from the fair late at night and had to chase down the manager at the other property lucky I guess or I would have had to sleep in my Jeep was very worried

Run down property without functioning air conditioning. Not badly located but badly needs updating.

DONT STAY HERE! HORRIBLE PLACE!

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed!! So many problems and management refused to fix the problems. First the water is so inconsistent it scolded my grandson when he was showering If anyone in the building was using the water at the same time it would get extremely hot then freezing cold. Second the AC did not work I had asked 3 times to switch rooms and was told there were no other rooms available. Carpet in the room was disgusting. I’ve machine was broken. The office is not open 24/7. And breakfast was not available at the times they have posted. House keeper took our personal towels and when I tried to get them back no one was available to go find them. Again DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE!! There are better options in the same price range. I’m still waiting for a response a week later from management on my issues. Also they lied to the Hotels.com representative when they called about the situation to help me switch rooms or get a refund and change hotels. They told the rep that they already switched my family into a different room.

We have been there one night, the room was not clean the spider net was visible on the corners, the breakfast is not good the yogurt they brought for breakfast was expired. Not recommended

Didn’t have our reservation and check in closed at 8:30. Door keys went offline during the night. People stranded outside their room pounding in the door in the middle of the night. No front desk to resolve. Website says front desk 24/7. Worst ever.

Check in was difficult. Our first room had no tv, refrigerator or microwave. Got moved and second room had vice grips for a doorknob. Staff left office early.

Not nice, I would never stay here again

After spending several hours trying to check in, I was shown a shabby room with a non working AC. They managed to find me another room at a different motel. I spent over a week at this facility but had to cut my stay short. I was assured that the difference would’ve refunded. Magnuson Park Vue refused. I am part of a group of fifty pilots that visit Ely yearly. This facility is now blacklisted. Do not shy away, run away from this operation.

Hotel and property good. Connivant location close to downtown Ely. Room clean and large. Nice Bathroom and sink. Had a refrigerator and coffee maker. All good, I have a good night sleep and was comfortable Room for Improvement: TV and Dish did not work. Could not see news. Had no contact with check in person. The information and key was left with my name in an envelope on the main door. It had my address and information in it. Not safe for security. No one manning the office at 7am, where I was told to finish my check in. Could not talk to anyone. Door open and unlocked but no one in the office. No coffee and no cont. breakfast as I could see by sign on the door. I am traveling and really need my coffee. I could have taken stuff out of the office. If I was a thief. Lastly, I wanted to change card from my sister-in-law who booked the room, to my card. No one to help. I waited and was told that no one was there, so I left. Don't stay here

No one at the front desk, had to call to get service. Our door wouldn't unlock we were told to put a shoulder to it. Internet was out no TV. Contacted manager said TV would be up and running in 30 minutes would check back in with us. Manager did not check back in express the manager that this was unsatisfactory and that we would probably be leaving. Spent the night tried to turn in our keys the next day no one at the counter no one answered the phone had breakfast came back no one at the counter no one answered the phone.

The front desk messed up the billing for two rooms upon arrival. Keys to rooms did not work. Rooms were not very clean. Carpets full of stains and crumbs. Blood stained bath towels and no hand towels. The mattress had a broken spring poking out of the side of the mattress and I almost gashed my leg. Come to find out, someone complained about that on yelp 11 months ago and they never replaced the mattress. Lucky me. The air conditioner is a joke. As in, not good at all. I had no refrigerator in my room, but my friend did in his. We've gone back to the front office 5 times to get the bill fixed and there's no one ever there. Guess who else will never be there again...ME!!!!!

Nice little motel

Nice clean older motel. Very nice people, pleasant to work with.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The toilet was leaking. I turned off the water to it so it would be quiet. The weather stripping on the door was flapping. Glad it wasn’t winter. Otherwise, it was fine. The beds were comfortable and clean.

Cardkey didnt work the first two cards, and then didn’t work the next morning locking me out, ice machine was out of order, my milk at morning breakfast was expired, and we waited in the office for thirty minutes trying to check out before giving up and just leaving a note with the card key saying what room we were checking out of so we could get back on the road.

Good place to stay.

The room was clean enough and an average motel room. I arrived at the property at10pm and no one was there to check me in. They left my key and receipt taped to the door. In the morning there was no continental breakfast as advertised. There wasn’t a clerk to be found and the office was locked

Cheap but not cheerful.

Wi-Fi was so weak as to make it unusable. Bathroom toilet made loud screeching noise when flushed. Exterior is rundown. Cheap but not cheerful.

Checkin was pleasant, price was right, heater worked which was great because it was a cold day!

No internet, no TV, front desk locked up and left as soon as I arrived. I was a solo female traveler, now alone at the hotel, trying to figure out why nothing worked. I felt vulnerable and unsafe. I tracked the desk employee to a sister property. He offered a refund and I went elsewhere. Looking deeper at the reviews I found that this is a longstanding problem with this hotel. I questioned why Expedia would continue to allow a property like this to continue booking through them, since they say they have tv and WiFi but clearly didn’t have either one.

Very nice area close to the downtown. Convenient for walking to shop or sightseeing the casinos and historic sites. The rooms are very clean and modern and offer many amenities, including a continental breakfast. Quite comfortable beds and pillows are a plus. The staff are friendly, courteous, and make the stay very pleasurable. Will make this a repeat stay when out this way again.

Old Motel, looks rough on the outside, but the room was clean, bed comfortable, great hot shower, a good breakfast and very friendly manager. Let us check in early.

Pleasent

The staff was very friendly and helpful.The room was extremely clean and neet. They did not have the breakfast in the morning, all they had was doughnuts and coffee and we did have a problem with the toilet when we got there that was fixed.

Never stay again

Service was great. If you don't need anything. Office closed at 9pm. No room maintenance ( making beds, throwing garbage or towels)in 3 days. Breakfast is coffee only and only after 8am. Doors would not open properly or lock. Microwave didn't work. Asked for extra towels since 3 in room, and were told maid didn't show up so no clean linens.

No one there to check in, then when able to ck in at 7:30, TV was broken, just not a joy able experience

On my list

The good was a clean bed and hot shower, and the room was warm. The toiiet was short making it difficult to get up, with a bad knee. When flushed the toliet made a loud noise that went on for a bit. The TV didnt work. There was No free breakfast as advertised, the guy at the desk said they were out of everything and only coffee would be avaiable in the am. But we left at 530am and the office was closed, not opening til 7am so no coffee either. The door had to be lifted to open it and husband had to use his strength to get it open as I could not. This place needs some TLC. And if advertising something it should deliver. This goes on my list of do not stay places.

Not acceptable

The carpet was filthy and stained and smelled. Found alot of hair on beds. Host at front desk was helpful but this place is in very poor condition and the price was too high.

Ill try a new place next trip.

Check in took 25 minutes because a sign in the window said a person would be back soon. Stepping into the room, the temperature was easily 95 degrees. The wall unit would not respond to any adjustments, so i ended up just turning it off. Kept the entry door open for 20 minutes to cool down the room enough to sleep. Shower unit dripped. Bed was very comfortable. Room nicely equipped with lighting, microwave, refrigerator, iron and board, and coffee maker. The hair dryer did not work. Breakfast was continental. Plastic wrapped donuts and cookies. Packaged oatmeal...no milk. OJ, apple juice, apple sauce.

This place had no tv service, no fridge, no microwave, didn’t see a maid the whole time we were there. First night there we saw no soap for showers went and asked clerk for some was told they were out, went and bought some. Paid full price for crappy service. Asked for a refund or discount and was told no.

Decent place if you’re just passing through for a person or couple, carpet a little old, pricing was fair, worked out perfect for my me and my pet

No breakfast

NO BREAKFAST AS ADVERTISED. NO OFFICE STAFF ONSITE

The TV did not work, there was no microwave. There was no refrigerator there was no coffee Maker, and the online add showed all of these things, as well as a room with a bed spread and a nice floor the floor was absolutely disgusting.

Only a bed and bathroom, truly. No fridge or microwave, no coffeemaker, no WIFI, even the icemaker was broken. Nice little park across the street but investments will be required to gain more business.

We had a TV but no service, no shampoo or conditioner. A coffee machine but only 1 styrofoam cup and no sugar or cream. A towel had mascara on it. The bed had a coil spring sticking out on the edge of it.

Nothing unique just a pleasant place

The carpets were very stained and needed a good shampooing. Breakfast was prepackaged junk. Bed was comfortable.

The entry door handle was very hard to open door. The carpet was very old and stained. The TV did not work. The mattress platform stuck way out beyond the mattress and was covered up with a bedskirt and both my husband and I stubbed our feet on it. The outside was old and unappealing--not a place I would ever choose. Only stayed because other places were booked. Only positive was Matthew at the front desk who was very embarrassed that the owners will not do anything to improve the place. He was very nice.

Room was clean and in good shape. The satellite T.V didn't work. When we got into the room the HDMI cable was disconnect, we reconnected and still didn't work. We didn't receive any information on internet no password. When we wanted to ask them about it at 8pm no one was available.

The Wi-Fi and television didn’t work. We told the front desk about the tv several times and no one ever offered to fix it, just that they would make a note of it. As we were checking out, the person at the front desk said that the tv and Wi-Fi never work. We stayed for two nights and our kids were unhappy there and never felt comfortable. The final straw was the shower breaking on our last morning there. This was a terrible stay and no one should stay there.

We were only going to be there 12 hours as we went to Ely and the Great Basin, which is a very nice town by the way as well as a great national park, to go to the Ring of Fire eclipse so we weren’t looking for the most fabulous place so it served its needs but if your looking for a nicer type motel, this motel is weathered and very dated so what might look dirty, may just be old and it’s lived a long tough life by now.

Tv inop. Asked the clerk answer, manager will be in tomorrow morning. WI-FI does not work in the room. Clerk says it is weak come up to the office. Coffee and coffee maker in the room but no cups clerk oh sorry we are out.

Terrible WiFi & No Ice

The rooms are showing age but for a central NV budget hotel, thats pretty common. Biggest issue was the extremely weak WiFi (~0.3 mbps) and lack of an ice machine. Breakfast was sparse but there.

Although parts of the room are renovated, you can tell it’s an old motel. The curtains were torn so let in a lot of light. The front desk guy didn’t give us any info when we checked in so had to ask for wifi which was spotty so don’t count on it. However it was one of the cheaper places to stay and since we were just passing through it worked for us.

The rooms are showing their age, but were reasonably clean and comfortable. Motel is in a quiet neighborhood with easy access. Don't expect a five-star place, but for a one-night stay it was OK.

Property had no hot water and was aware of issue yet continued to take bookings. Room was not cleaned,had toothpaste on bathroom counter, duvet cover had black stains, used toilet paper was left on top of the toilet roll etc...requested refund and was issued thanks to the ck out staff willingness to accept responsibility.

Horrible. No TV. Wi-if not working. Dirty toilet. Multiple insects. Disgusting carpeting.

Bad hotels

It sucked outdated tv didnt work. Rooms had electrical shorts. No blankets just generaly run down.

Nothing worked, no wifi, microwave didn't work. Definitely overpriced for what it is.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work. If you hold your phone up to the window you can get a signal. I asked another visitor and they said the same thing. The front desk isn’t there most of the time. The motel is next to a nice park. But everything with the place is marginal.

The place is in disrepair. The AC in our room only worked on low setting and did not cool the room at all. The light fixture blew out and we were afraid it was going to catch on fire. The outlet plug by the bed also had issues. The tv volume would get loud and then quiet randomly. The only good thing is that the bed was comfortable.

So run down, checked the room, not clean, shabby furnishings, not fit for young children, nor comfortable for women, unsafe all around. DID NOT STAY!

A motel ok for a one-night stay while on the road

The mini-fridge was not clean, found a 1/2 empty soda can inside. Also there were two frozen ice-packs in the small freezer, apparently they have been in there a very long time as I could not remove them to put my ice cream bars in. Also, the TV satellite was out and was not going to be repaired till after we checked out. I was offered a discount for the inconvenience, but never received it. Location wasn't bad, but the condition of the property could use some TLC.

This is the first time I've been disappointed by Expedias ratings. At a 7, I expected better. Two lights didn't work; Direct tv was inoperative; internet connectivity was not available from front desk that night. Though the bed was average and the water was hot, the lack of cleaning (I.e. it did not look vacuumed and surfaces were not particularly clean). I would not recommend it based on my experience.

THERE WERE NO AMENITIES THAT ARE USUALLY PRESENT. A BAR OF SOAP APROX: 1/4X1X2" WAS IT

very disappointing - to be fair, awful.

there was nobody there when i arrived at about 4 or 5 pm. there was an envelope on the office door with my name and room number and two room key cards. very poor security. the a/c was not working in the room. the room was not very clean, especially the dried circular spot of feces on one of the chairs *see photo) which i noticed just before sitting on it. bugs in room, limited wifi, zero breakfast despite their claims. i've traveled in about 20 countries and 49 states, and this is in the top 3 worst hotel experiences i;ve had.

This was an awful motel experience. My room didn’t even have toilet paper. The rooms were somewhat clean. However, I couldn’t open the door and the handle was broken. I had to call a staff after hours to learn. The area is not safe, unsafe people roaming outside. All I needed was a safe place to rest my head after driving for 14 hours and this is not it.

this is a bad motel

a lot of large insects, a large spider, blood on the wall, a chair that looked like it was used as a toilet, dirty sheets. I used to stay here regularly for the past 5 years. Looks like they have new owners? Never again.

My wife and I are venturing cross country and stumbled upon ELY. One of 3 or 4 towns from grand junction to Reno on route 50. To our surprise a hotel with 7ish rating out of 10 rating had a room available last minute. Upon our arrival I was greeted at the desk by a friendly man, staffing the building. Check in was pleasant. Upon entering our room (103) all the furniture was old, stained and torn. There were no blankets, the “mattress pads” were the blankets. There is no store to purchase a blanket nearby. There were holes in the drywall. The carpet connecting the room and the door was separated and frayed from the door because it was so out of date. There is noticeable tracks from the door to every point of interest in the room because the carpet is so old. The tv didn’t work just static. And finally our last two straws were the blood and “feces” stains on the sheets and the bugs we ASSUME were bed bugs lining the rim of the mattress, where bed bugs usually hangout under the flap. I was very distraught but the man working the counter was very nice and understand and was very willing to let the Expedia reps know he would be on board with a refund. His exact words were “I’m not surprised, I just work here, but just have Expedia give us a call and I will grant the refund”. This is an absolute roach motel, and I honestly feel for the staff that have to be nice to the customers looking for a clean bed to sleep in. They will not get it here.

Clean but not great.

The place was clean although very well loved. The lobby was a disappointment. When we booked the room i thought it had a microwave but it didn't. I wasn't to worried about it because the lobby had one and the writing on the window said they were closed at 10:00 p.m. we showed up with food in hand to heat up a little after 7 and the lobby was closed. I even tried the bell on the door... no one. After that we wanted ice and the ice machine wasn't working and there were like 3 ash trays in the little ice room. The lady in the morning was very nice and we didn't have a problem checking out. She even had ice for us then. Not my favorite place to stay but at least the rooms were clean.

In general all was OK. However, I had a smaller room than others and it had no refrigerator (maybe larger rooms do). Breakfast did not start until 7 am.

Property was locked up with no cars in the parking lot.

Left my key card taped to door 8 p.m. Called for coffee and water cups and no wifi. Answered from home, said be there in 10 minutes. I needed to eat. Upon return key card no longer worked. Manager rolled up and handed a key out the car window. Morning breakfast not available. Manager had " gone home sick". Leaving the No Vacancy sign on does help keep guests from trying to lodge there.

Great stay in Ely Nevada

Accomodations were clean. Staff was friendly and for my purposes the location was perfect.

This motel may look a little dated on the outside but it was spotlessly clean and quiet. Easy access with parking at your room door. Good place for those in need of a reasonably priced place to stay on a road trip.

Was a cozy stay!

Had to wait a few minutes for someone to show up at the front desk and check me in, someone else had been waiting as well. Free breakfast was nice. King size bed was really nice. Overall decent place to stay in Ely.

Unable to leave a review as the property appeared to be abandoned and no longer in business. Please refund my booking for the Magnuson motel as we didn't stay there and had to book at the LaQuinta Hotel instead.

Motorcycle trip

The room was fine, however, driving up and seeing the condition of the parking lot concerned me. The Wi-Fi only work when I was standing at the window of my room. The bed was good, the area is quiet and the room was clean
