Nice cool rooms, some of lights didn’t work!
It was basic decor and a bit dated but had everything we needed for a couple of days. Pool was great and considering there is a bar on the premises really quiet. Great location. Could do with bigger plates.
Great for a few nights stay in the Ridge.
Comfy bed cute little room air con and fan very comfortable stay thank you so much 😊
Air condoned was poor. A fan of any type would have given a better sleep
Bed was so comfy and shower was awesome - fridge, TV, all the essentials thank you. Comfy room.
The room was okay but very dark, with wood panelling and limited kitchen facilities. The pool was good, however when we stayed the bistro was closed.
Property is very outdated, in need of a reno.
Had everything we needed for our stay.
Rooms were ok, they could have done with a better clean, they were very dusty. Would have been nice to be forwarned that their bistro was not open though. Made the booking expecting not to go anywhere else for tea.
Room was in need of updating - loved the staff the lady that greeted me was so lovely and after a long day driving it was nice to see a happy face and nothing was a problem.
Staff very accommodating and friendly. Room comfortable and reasonably stocked, unfortunately only a microwave for cooking. Swimming pool great!!
Good average motel
What in amazing location the staff were every polite. But unfortunately the rooms seem really dated. From the ac and the tv still an old Antenna style which did not work at all for our stay for our child and down time. Some of the lights in room did not work. The room was ok for our stay but for the price would like something more updated.
Arrived late ladie in office was very nice.
Pub and bottle shop on property
Average room
No tv reception apart from ABC and NITV for 2 nights. Not a big deal but inconvenient. Had dinner at the onsite restaurant, would not do it again. Dreadful wait time and dinners were overdone. Drinks were very expensive also. Would recommend the bowling club for dinner, so much better. Our room was ok, nothing flash. Newer pillows would have been nice.
Just what we were looking for in Lightning Ridge enjoyed our stay
Easy to find & very convenient
Warm room took most of day to cool off, it did was good. Ceiling fan very noisy. Shower foor slick when wet could use nonskid strips. Was good for us
Great place to stay 👌 👍
Good location. Rooms average and need a revamp
Very convenient to everything
The beds were a little old
Handy location, but a bit too much noise noticeable from other guests.
It suited my needs perfectly.
Great and friendly
Great place
Good location, comfortable accommodation
A great place to stay with excellent staff
The bed was terrible, uncomfortable and caused a lot of pain.
It had everything we needed for our stay
Very happy with the level of facilities, staff, dining, convenience and cleanliness in a small outback town. Couldn't have been more comfortable.
Property was very nice, not the Hilton, but clean and comfortable. I liked the style of the room. The on site bistro was very nice, great food. Only issue was the bed was very firm.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. However the room itself was very dated and not nearly clean enough. The shower and fridge both leaked when being used and I’m sure only require a simple fix. Some more vegetarian food options would also be good for the bistro. Otherwise a great location.
Very happy with the room and facilities. Would stay again
Easy walk to shops
.
Recommend a stay
Comfortable, a little dated and dirty
Traffic noise, dark room, but staff was excellence.
The Park was quiet, bed was comfortable and set out well. The bathroom had a terrible smell from the water and we had to leave the fan in the bathroom on all night to stop the smell from going right thru the room.
A place to visit
It was very dirty the room was unsafe with power board's hanging from the wall's. There was no sound proofing from the room next door.
Lightning Ridge is amazing. When you travel to a remote country town, it is best to stay in town. There is so much more here, than you might imagine.
Dark, dingy rooms. Shower put water all over the floor. Only 1 set of cutlery.
Close to pub and restaurant
The buildings are getting a bit on in age . They are advertising for cleaners no one seems to be applying for the job . The cleaners they have are only giving the rooms a cat lick daily . Spider cobwebs everywhere.no 5 star rating for this stay .
Stayed here with my sister. The room was comfortable and on the larger side for a motel. The television was a bit small to see properly from the beds and there was only one chair in the room. It was an easy walk into the town proper and the onsite hotel and bistro were interesting. We had a very nice meal in the bistro. All in all nothing to complain about other than the dust but this is to be expected in a dry outback town.
Bathroom sink had large crack, spiderwebs on ceilings . No water glasses only wine glasses
.
Enjoyed our stay here. Excellent meal in the bistro, rooms clean and great location.
I enjoyed my stay. Room was comfortable and tidy. Had everything we needed. The staff are very nice. Having a bar and grill there made it easy and convenient. Food was lovely. The room we stayed in was a little outdated but I think that added appeal to the cabins and to lightning ridge.
Pretty good considering the remoteness.
The Bistro had a delicious lamb shank slow cooked in wine & rosemary Enjoyable dining opens @ 6 pm Lunch available @ their pub delicious grilled sandwiches great with a beer Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, Q
Good Country pub and caravan park
Accommodation was very tight in Lightning Ridge and only three places to eat dinner. Large comfortable cabin with curtains that actually cover the door and windows! Good night’s sleep and very good bistro
Very clean close to information and dining options also chemist.
We located as you enter the town, then easy walking distance to Lightening Ridge town. Great room.
Layout was good. Room was run down. Needs a refresh.
Ok for overnight stay. Beds comfortable. Could park outside room. Great meal at Bowls Club just a short walk away. Lighting in room dark, no hairdryer.
friendly service, nice room, great bar and dining.
Large rooms. Easy walk to town. Bistro and Bar on premises.
Was a good time
There was no hot water for showering. 2 night stay and both nights i had a cold shower. Went to the laundry to do my washing, by the time i had finished the water from the rain had come all the way to the door. Would recommend thus pkace only if you are desperate
We had significant issues with the hot water in the shower for our unit. The relationship between the hotel and the bistro took some working out.
Nice customer service and house keeping 👍
Convenient place to stay friendly staff
Convenient to town
It was fine but ready for a upgrade
Very convenient
Very cosy rooms with sunny outdoor area. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and a delicious meal in the Bistro. The location is excellent walk to everything in Town. We really felt at home here and enjoyed our time in Lightning Ridge.
Satisfactory for the location. Negatives: no table, only backless chairs, chipped crockery, shower makes a real mess - no enclosure.
Good, clean, comfortable rooms.
The room was clean and comfy. Due to remoteness it was reasonably priced. The meals at the bistro were good and staff friendly. Overall facility was tidy, lawns mowed however the accomodation building is tired, and maintenance needed. Timber slats need repair, windows n flyscreens need cleaning, aircon unit was noisy. We were comfy and warm and would stay again.
Good position very friendly staff
The shower did not work, while this was repaired, half of the lights in the room didn’t work, the fridge had what looked like mould in it (can’t be sure it was to dark). The room had an unpleasant smell and just didn’t seem clean at all.
Booked and paid $205 for a deluxe room. Assigned room number 1. Bathroom basic but clean. Room it self was old and smelled earthy. Carpet tiles shrunken and stained. Bed cover stained. Thin old blanket on bed not warm enough. Receptionist rude.
It’s just a bit tired and the room felt a bit past its use by date.
Awsome
Everything was there dinner , bar , swimming pool . Just convenient
Close to the bowling club and bore bath
200 p night for single person may be quite costly, otherwise anything are OK
Shower pressure was crap and signage should be post as was difficult to navigate around, just a suggestion. Otherwise all good
The worst place I've ever stayed in . Itsdirty, old, bugs and cocroaches. Carpet old and dirty. The staff didn't bring towels and had to get it . Old used ones left on the bathroom floor. No chairs in room. So many bed lights not working or are missing. Bed linen old and terrible colours. The bed too small and wobbly for a couple. The price absolutely outrageous. $195 per night. An absolute joke. The whole place needs to be renovated or closed down. Wouldn't stay there in the future even if was for free. Me and my wife stayed there twenty years ago and it has really been run down and urgent upgrade is needed. I'd be embarrassed to recommend it to my worst enemy. Sorry but this is an honest review. The management should be ashamed for charging such high rates for such a terrible place to stay in. Love the Lightning ridge and its people but your place needs an urgent make over.
Door handle was almost falling off bathroom door until I got a screwdriver and tightened it up tight
A good accommodation option
Great location with an easy walk to town attractions. The hotel/bar which is part of the hotel has a good outback feel. The rooms are now getting a bit dated and tired but comfotrable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Property has seen alot, all cutlery and dishes had not been properly cleaned. We've seen better ,but we've seen worse
Accommodation clean, quiet & relaxing
Great location, good room and excellent facilities.
Poor wifi, poor lighting, old warn matress
Great location, food was really nice, staff friendly, rooms outdated but we only stayed a night so was fit for purpose.
Swimming pool was good in the heat
very friendly and helpful staff
The room was clean and tidy but starting to show its age. Close to the centre of the town so easy walking to many things.
Overall happy
The shower in our room needed a shower curtain.water was all over the floor when i finished my shower
Enjoyed our stay room kept cool with fans and AC, a bit dated inside but clean and tidy! Would stay again and recommend to our friends ! Was close to the bowling club and all attractions!
The property was clean and comfortable.
The facilities are clean and i think very good for a more isolated area. Bar and bistro made it a good option for this area.
