Stayed there for 10 nights. Good about the hotel: the daily breakfast buffet spread is different. It is clean. Poor: Light is dim. Not suitable for working at night or reading book. Some fittings, such as bedside lights are loose. One side of the wardrobe sliding door is spoiled. Aircon not cold enough despite setting at 16degree Celsius with high fan speed

Had issues at checking in as the Hotels.com didn’t seem to have confirmed the reservation with the hotel, the manager had to get involved to finally get everything ok, room is superb and clean, on the minus side breakfast is nothing amazing and the surrounding of the hotel is difficult to find restaurant and shops just offices

Great location with access to taxis onsite. 2 minute walk to Plaza Festival and shops eating choices.Love the pool Only suggestion is to serve real jam in the cafe at breakfast and have muesli and yoghurt choices

Arrived after midnight, checked in was super quick, room was ready and excellent. Appreciate the 2 water bottles privided for their guests. Only stayed for 1 night.

Think Twice

Though a good property but the service quality is bad. In 5 days of stay 7 times, it happened the restaurant forgot to send food. The staff overall is well mannered but needs more grooming for catering guests. Food quality and quantity is not so great.

Good to stay for business

The Staff at the Luwansa were absolutely incredible along across from general staff up to manager level. One of the best experiences of staff service from a hotel.

Customer service was excellent. Walls are thin - you can hear noises from the road and also from your neighbours. Hotel breakfast is nothing to shout about and needs more variety.

Decent but might not stay again

Bad check in but they actually upgraded us to a nicer larger room. It was better. The halls look old and dingy as did the first room but our second room was newer and nicer. The housekeeping staff needs a lot of training. They could not understand dirty dishes from clean and then when I went to have a cup of hot water, I tasted it and spit it out - there ere actually soap bubbles in my cup. The resaraunt was nice but very overpriced. We ordered food in but you have to walk out to the road past security if you want to do that.

Wish it was longer, in town for one night and up early the next day. Would have like doing to have spent some more time here and enjoyed the facilities more. Very helpful staff and an easy check in.

JS Luwansa is now my priority choice to stay in Jakarta for business trip. Last time I stay here, the room next my door is too noisy around 1-2 a.m.

Nice hotel near the city centre shopping districts

Communication prior to check in was very helpful. Check in was friendly and very efficient. Our Ambassador Suite was magnificent... Spotless, great view, and extremely comfortable. Exclusive lounge access was all the difference between Very Good and Amazing. We appreciated the friendly and yet discrete personal service with snacks, food and beverage on tap. So much more enjoyable having Executive Breakfast at our spacious dining table, browsing the newspaper over quite conversation, than in the general restaurant on ground. All this with the 20th floor city views as the backdrop. Late 2pm check out meant no rushed pack up and run...instead a leisurely phase out, with our bill settled and taxi booked right on our floor instead of having to stop by at Reception. Very nice final touch. Would happily stay again, great value all round!!

Not So Good

We booked Ambassador Club Hotel. Reception never told us on we can have breakfast there, never told us we have 6-8 Happy Hours for cocktail ! We had drinks at same time in restaurant and paid !!

Good hotel but staff is very poorly trained.

Good hotel but the reception desk staff is very unprofessional. I asked twice if they were sure everything was billed upon checkout. They said yes but then sent me mails and whatsapps that not everything was paid... so I tell them I will arrange everything in the weekend... they agree but are impatient and on Sunday morning already they woke me up to insist... Then they said they would send my invoice but now they have no access because the boss is not there which is so hard to believe for a 4* hotel.

It was a good stay. Weekend night can be a bit noisy as the mall next door will have live bands performing. Location is very convenient.

Good hotel for business

Easy check-in, good service but the all-day dining was a bit slow one night, so had to have the food sent up to the room instead. But that wasn't an issue at all for the staff, which was good. The pool was under maintenance the day I arrived which was a shame as I was looking forward to swimming.

These rooms are weird, there are not enough outlets and the accommodation is small. The wardrobe door was broken, no mini bar.

Great Hotel with excellent Service

We booked premier club room and the room is clean and comfy.Check-in was smooth at the Ambassador Club lounge, the club staff were friendly and welcoming especially Hendra and Melly who spoke good English and ready to assist your queries. Infinity pool on level 5 offered good view of the city. Highly recommended!

Love this hotel

This was our second time staying at the JS Luwansa this year. We love this hotel. The staff are very kind and helpful. The hotel is very well maintained and offers important services like free wifi in the rooms. Also, there's a very good restaurant in the hotel (important because the traffic in Jakarta is very heavy so we didn't want to go out to find a restaurant). We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great hotel, excellent service! Room was amazing - clean, spacious, well-lighted, modern. Bed and pillows were great! Had a relaxing time at the hotel while on business. Will stay here again the next time I get a chance. Very warm and accommodating staff too. Always helped me find a taxi.

Hotel is basic

Staff are its greatest asset. Facilities wise it's not good. Spa and Food is just basic. Nothing compared to Gran Melia. The rooms are equally aged. Also, the shower knob is not good. it's either too hot or too cold. the aircon is not central system so when you return to room at the end of the way, it's very hot in there. takes about half hour to cool down. There's only one charging point in each room. In other ways, cannot charge computer and boil water at the same time.

Was just generally unimpressed. It seems like you can get a lot better value for money even within the immediate area. For instance, I switched to the Manhattan nearby after a couple of days for a lower rate, nicer room, and now I'm adjacent to some malls which is nice for food and shopping options. Breakfast spread was quite nice but would've been nice if things were labeled with ingredients since this is catering to plenty of foreigners (with dietary restrictions).

The AC in the room too hot as you go in? To get room cold the AC had to be on for a long time to get room cold for me. The hotel dud - not have a bar area to site in.

The location was perfect for my business trip, but the hotel itself was not as "great" as I had been lead to believe from the pictures. Besides the friendly service, it was just another "normal" hotel.

Great Business Hotel in Kuningan, Jakarta

A quick 2 night business trip. Pros: The hotel is new, well appointed. Great value for money. Good breakfast. Good service, rooms are of a nice size, clean and modern. Good location - in Jakarta you want to be close to your office, so if your office is in the Kuningan area, this is one of the best hotels to stay at. Cons: The restaurants at the hotel are not very popular, neither is the bar, so not much happening in the hotel during the evening. Could have done with a larger sized TV screen in the rooms. Overall, the Pros far outweigh the Cons. Super place to be if you are visiting Jakarta for business.

Only 5min walk to Russian Embassy, easy to get a taxi which is a problem in Jakarta, 5min drive to the closest mall Kota Kasablanka. Good service for that money level.

A good 4 Star property, that would like to be a 5 Star...if only they could get their front desk staff to be more honest & open. Twice, I have caught them obscuring the truth and only managed to get things straight after too much effort. Little things count. Good location & amenities. Good bang for the buck.

“Pretty much my favorite hotel in Jakarta"

I have stayed in this hotel for the first times and they have never missed a beat. Service is incredibly consistent and each time I find more and more that i like about it. My check in process was quick. The front desk staff was awesome she handled everything in easy. Even though the hotel was very busy with some big function going on the staff never showed that in their face. kept smiling and did their best to satisfy each and every customer. The restaurant breakfast was excellent with a verity of options. Beautiful rooms not that big but no complaints. The bathrooms are clean fitted with modern sanitary wares. House keeping did their job well. There is a nice pool and a bar adjacent to it. The health clubs is also nice with all needed equipment's. The spa is close to it but never gave a try but one of the guest I spoke with he said it was a good experience. If you are in central Jakarta or near to the golden triangle area this would be the first choice and you are not going to find a nicer hotel to stay ... yep Shangrila has bigger pools and The metropolitan is super cool but I love JS Luwansa... they have captured the essence of what is so lovely about Jakarta. For business traveler and people coming for vacation I highly recommend JS Luwansa.

A very good choice of stay when you are in Advertsing/Media business. Its in the centre of all great fun , business.. highly responsive staff makes the stay very pleasurable

Decent hotel if it is for a short stay.

Was surprised to be informed only upon check-in that the hotel has scheduled for electrical maintenance and that the air-conditioner and water heater will be shut between 1am - 3am. Would not have booked the room if this was informed earlier. Though it wasn't an unberable experience during the electrical shutdown but felt this could be informed at point of booking so that an informed decision can be made. The hotel has provided my family complimentary breakfast to make-up for the shortfall in experience, which we appreciate. Perhaps, the hotel should have planned for the shutdown according to levels and not sell those rooms that will be affected.

I had a problem with my overseas credit card when checking in but after a few hours and using another machine, the card was accepted. I expected a better breakfast for e 4-star hotel.

Hotel stay and things around

I think it was a pleasant hotel, nice area, I could walk to some nice pubs nearby, There is a shopping centre also walking distance if you get your directions right, not a problem. Nice huge shaping mall 15 mins away by taxi , if you are not traveling during there peak hours, The hotel bar and lounge can use some improvements, but great friendly staff to talk to there, its on level one. I come to understand they will be getting a tenant to run the place in December, so I believe it would be a better improved lounge.

Good time

Very nice experience - very good place to stay for business purposes. Next to a 7/11, ATMs, and various restaurants. The hotel has also its own ATM. The staff is kind and generally with good level of English. The room was clean and practical. Being a hotel for business people, it would be good to have a iron and iron board. Also, the massage given at the SPA were very good, but the rooms are kept not warm enough - the massage revealed to be not so pleasant as it could have been with a warmer room. Food is ok, but it would be nice to have some more authentic Indonesian food.

Convenient location in the center of Jakarta.

Das Hotel liegt in einer guten Gegend und hat viele Möglichkeiten in der Nähe um Essen zugehen oder um Einzukaufen. Es gibt Taxis und Shuttle Service, aber ist auch eine Transjakarta Haltestelle vor der Tür.Bald wird es auch eine Haltestelle für die Hochbahn geben. Das Essen in dem Hotel ist sehr gut und vielseitig. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und haben bequeme Betten. Weiter gibt es einen Pool und ein Fitness Center, die man sehr gut nutzen kann. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich sicher.

The location is good to me. Meals are good. Staff members are all very friendly. I had a very pleasant stay. Never-the-less, there is a light in the washroom which I don't know how to turn off. This did not bother me because I unscrewed the light bulb in the night. I unscrewed the light bulbs in the closet as well, because I found that these lights won't turn off even the door is closed. I wish to be earth friendly and tried to reduce the waste of energy. On the other side, the light on the desk is not sufficient for my work.
