None of the staff understands English and they are not friendly, worst group of staff but location is great
Our stay here was fine except for difficulty parking. Very close to the train station, that is convenient.
Dirty outside the front door. Terrible signs directing you to the front door, which Is hidden. The shower water pressure fluctuated when the neighbour flushed the toilet. So you’re in the Shower getting cold blast of water. Breakfast was expensive with low quality food.
Was ok but there were construction around taxis were not able to get to the front door
Nice little cheap place for a short stay. Great location from Avignon Centre Station and easy walking distance to all the sites and restaurants.
Good stay, good for train,& clean, quiet room. Big choice at buffet breakfast. Efficient staff. Thanks.
Very central,& near railway central. Quiet, clean room, altho duvet a bit too warm for September. Hotel recomended.
De très fortes odeurs d’égout Pas d’eau chaude.
Lovely stay
Fantastic stay at Avignon Centre Gare hotel. Very central location, room was clean and well appointed. Parking was easy and next to hotel. Room was quiet and we had a lovely nights sleep. Would recommend.
The hotel has everything as expected from Ibis. Staff was VERY nice and helpful. The parking is safe in a covered garage adjacent to the hotel. The only thing is the entrance was a bit hard to find because google doesn’t know it. My only complaint is that the property advertised laundry as an amenity but there is no laundry in the building. Otherwise, I would go back.
Attentive staff would have made this a better stay
I had a problem with the key card to my room. It just wouldn’t work to open my room. Three times I went politely to reception to beg to be let into my room. I think it was a defective card, because when I finally got a second card, on my fourth complaint, that worked fine. The impression I got was that the reception staff couldn’t be bothered. When I arrived and asked if I could leave my bags as my room wasn’t ready, she brought out one label then huffed and puffed when she discovered I wanted to leave 3 items for the day. What is wrong with asking first? When I returned in the evening, it was a different person on reception, so naturally only the suitcase with the label appeared and I had to explain politely 4 times I had two other bags. Re breakfasts, get there early if you want orange juice or croissants. Because there weren’t any left when I arrived at 9.30 on Sunday. And the choice is very limited. The bread also runs out, so you’re left with scraps of baguettes if you aren’t there early c and I couldn’t find good old tap water anywhere. The hotel is in a good spot next to the station if you’re using Avignon as a base to explore, although it’s not currently easy to get into as workmen have put up barriers all round the front of the station area. Overall, could have been much better if staff were a little bit more attentive.
This is a very basic hotel. It was clean but feels old. The surroundings feel unsafe. It is very difficult to access the main door. You have to get into a street elevator to get into the second floor. There is lots of construction now and it may get better when the construction is finished. The staff was helpful and fun to talk to in our limited French.
Construction at the railway station means you have to enter the hotel via a parking garage where kids hang out. Floor in shower is slippery. Room is dingy looking and there is a smell in the hallway.
The hotel is next to the train station which is under construction. Not as convenient as I had expected.
Very bad location
All good but lots of work going on around the station makes the area dirty
Some things need fixing.
It was a great hotel in many ways. My 2 complaints are that the room was very cramped: hard to get around the end of the bed and hard to navigate the 2 doors. Other complaint is that I found it very hard to find the entrance. I walked around the block several times and found an entrance on the 2nd floor of a parking garage, but the sliding door wouldn't open. Turns out you had to have a room key. I finally figured out there was a buzzer. Also, you had to climb up a set of stairs to that second floor entry, but there were always men sitting there and broken bottles and garbage. I am very surprised about this lack of clear entry.
There was no proper sign to access hotel from Avignon Gare as there was construction & had great difficulty finding the entrance to hotel. I have a disability & did find it hard to climb stairs to get to reception.
Great staff great location. There is a temporary problem with the area around the hotel as the area in front of the train station is being completely renovated which leads to access problems and disruption in front of the hotel.
A good value, very close to the train station and very easy access to Avignon Centre. Wonderful breakfast, quiet rooms, good beds. A lot of construction going on all around Ibis.
Super convenient to both the train station and the city center
We stayed at Ibis Avignon Centre Gare for the convenience, but the fact that it is within walking distance of the train station and for sightseeing is the only convenience. The property states it has air conditioning, but it did not work in our room. We could hear the fan running, but there was no cool air, so we had to resort to opening the window. This was an issue as it was very noisy at night and in the early hours of the morning. Also, the Mistral was blowing for about five days and nights while we were there, and it was unpleasant to not be able to escape it after a full day outdoors. A warning to allergy sufferers: The property uses a very strong detergent on bed linens and a very strong, scented spray in the hallways. I had to breathe from my mouth while making our way to our room as I could not stand the strong fragrance. The restaurant has good food and wine. I applaud our waitress of the last couple of nights as I don't know how she managed to take orders, cook the food, and serve it so expediently and with a smile and cheerful disposition nonetheless. I imagine the hotel is suffering from a staffing shortage as they definitely need more help. To not end on a sour note, I must add that the breakfast buffet was a real plus here and very reasonable with breads, croissants, madeleines, eggs, tea, coffee, juices, yogurt, jams, butters, and cheeses, etc.
Right next to the train station and we liked that convenience, while also being very close to walk in to the central part of old Avignon. Very quiet in the room, good bed. Room is tight, small, but there's a desk and chair. They serviced the room every day. Restaurant was busy, but no menus in English, and only receptionist spoke English.
Kind service
Deceprion
Grosse déception . Sur le site il est marqué parking et lorsqu on arrive c est un parking payant . Si je l avait su je n aurais pas pris cet hôtel .
Construction made getting to the place difficult. Not really their fault.
I stayed here many years ago and I was thrilled to be back for 5 days. First is the location right next to the train station and the regional bus depot from where you can reach all those great small towns and walk to the Place de l’Horloge. Second is the fine help-yourself breakfast with so much to choose from. Having to catch an early train, I was so happy to find out they open around 4 a.m. Nice mattress, thick pillows and friendly staff! I hope I can come back.
Very convenient place to stay for a brief stopover in Avignon. Even though our room faced the train tracks, it was very soundproof, and the bed was comfortable.
Bad experience
Difficult to find entrance. Eventually managed to park right in front of the entrance, where someone broke into our car in the middle of the night. Smelled like marijuana around the hotel. Thus busy area next to train station, it did not feel safe. Should had trusted our gut feeling and changed hotel before going to sleep in the hard bed. Can't blame the hotel for the break-in to my car, but they could had asked/offered/suggested to park inside, as the police said this was 2nd break-in to cars in this specific spot within 1 month!
Super!
Es un hotel cómodo, muy bien ubicado y con excelente servicio.
Close, quiet & small
It’s close, next to the TGV & TER trains. The main Blvd is right at the entrance so visiting the landmarks were very simple. Rom was small but comfortable & clean. They sanitized the rooms. Quiet, can’t hear trains or street, which was the one concern. Unfortunately it’s not clean or prestige from the exterior. It appeared run down but very secure.
Too, too small room with nothing
I think, this hotel's only advantage is near to the train station but it's too noisy during day time (because of the main road nearby) . The room has a bad smell from the toilet and the in-room air conditioner seems don't work and we have to open the window to get some fresh air. The room was too small and did not have the rubbish bin and no boiling pot for water.
I reserved a room for 3 and it was too small so we had to get a separate room for my Mom
Very good breakfast, convenient location. The room is a bit too small
Parking was in train station adjacent to hotel. You had to take a footbridge to hotel and wait for elevator to take you up to check in. Although footbridge had a sufficient amount of lights, none of them worked. Location was very seedy with homeless and and vagrants loitering at train station parking lot. We did not feel safe walking across footbridge either early in the morning or in the evening. There was no security present. We checked out after 1st night's stay
Excellent location right next to the city wall made it ideal for exploring Avignon. There is parking right outside the hotel (at a cost but discounted for hotel residents). When leaving we had difficulty with the machine reading our card, the hotel receptionist came out to help us and solved the problem, which we were very grateful for. You can not fault the staff, customer service was excellent.
Average but functional
This is a very average functional hotel. It is excellently located right by the centre Gare and close to the old town and tourist sights. Our room smelt of damp - we had to close the bathroom door at all times. There were some stains under the mattress. But the bed was comfy and shower was fine. Not a room I’d want to spend any time in but did the job!
Excellent location. Basic but comfortable rooms. The bed is particularly good.
Very convenient, right next to the train station. The room is a bit small
Ok for a run down town.
An OK hotel room. Very small room. Location next to the Gare makes it either good (for those traveling by train) or bad (rougher area). Avignon was not worth the visit however.
2nd Time
This is the second time I’ve stayed here, and found it to be outstanding! Even the food was great.
A disaster. This hotel is a 2* at the most. Rooms are VERY small and NO AIR CONDITIONING. We had 3 rooms and neither one have A/C. just because temperature outside was on the low 70's and that its not hot for them. Never stay there.
Good location
Just like other ibis, only provide basic for you. But the location is good for traveller. A bit far from city center.
Good location to sightsee old town. Very comfortable room for a budget hotel. Parking was close and reasonable.
very efficient and friendly staff. Convenient for train station and city
It was clean and the perfect location. We would love to stay here again.
Adjacent to train station. Arrive and walk through town right away.
Good value for money
The hotel give me a lady room with a “real” hair dryer and mirror. The room is small but good enough for a short stay. It is well maintained. The staff was pleasant and friendly Ideal location for us to explore southern France
I chose this hotel for its location - between the railway station and the bus station for easy travelling, but only two minutes walk from all the amenities inside Avignon’s city walls. It’s bright and cheerful and my ‘lady’s room’, while small, was comfortable, with an excellent shower and good use of space (could definitely have done with a bigger litter bin though). There’s a restaurant and bar, which I didn’t make use of, a collection of games in reception, and the staff were all delightful. As chain hotels go, this one at least has some character.
Location, simplicity, staff, room adequate, it was a good relaxing and secured experience.
Location is very good- just a few steps to the train station and a few block to downtown center. Price is reasonable.
Right next to the train and entrance to walled city. Rooms are extremely small! Hardly room for luggage.
I liked the fact that it was very close to the train station and shopping street. Staff cleaning on the daily basis, always ready to answer your question. I would have love a kettle in the room for hot chocolate and tea as I had a child with me.
At check in we had the most fabulous lady! My daughter had lost her phone on the speed train and the receptionist did everything she could to help, translating French to English, her report it lost. She was so kind and helpful. Thank you!
Nice hotel for price!
I think this is a great hotel-clean, quiet, conveniently located near train station.
Payed an okay price. Got an okay room. Restaurant was also okay.
It is pleasant, the staff are helpful and it is good at the level it sets out to be. Functional. Useful situation by both train and bus station at centre of town. Surprisingly quiet, and I, travelling alone, age 80, was perfectly relaxed there. My room was not large but had all I needed except tea tray! Very reasonable rates. Would be happy to stay there again.
Affordable and comfortable accommodation
Very comfortable. Clean.
Ideally positioned
Good Hotel - great position - good service - breakfast terrific - room was a little small but overall good stay
The friendliest, most welcoming reception staff, very clean rooms, super comfortable beds, a extremely pleasant stay.
Great for the price
For the price and service, nothing bad to say. I had a room facing the train tracks but honestly with three windows closed I couldn't even hear it.
Great base for a tour of Provence
Convenient to train station. Primary activity was an all-day private tour of surrounding areas including Fontaine de Vaucluse, Gorden, Abbaye de Senaque, Roussillon, Les Baux de Provence, St Remy de Provence and the Pont du Gard followed by walking within the walled city
Convenience in Avignon
The Ibis was perfect for our stay as it was so convenient. We arrived at the Gare d'Avignon (centre) from the TGV station and just walked across the parking lot to the Ibis. We were going to take the train one day and pick up a rental car at the Avis in the Gare d'Avignon (centre) the following day, so being close to the train station was important to us. We were pleasantly surprised that it was super quiet. Rooms are small, but clean and modern. Reception was great.
Good basic hotel room. Conviently located by the train station and wall to the old city of Avignon. Great value!
Check for ac?
They turned the air conditioning off for the night nature property. The rooms and halls were miserably hot!
Great value and location!!
We loved the convenience to the walled city, clean,, great value, comfortable no frills hotel! We'd return here for sure!! Thanks fur a great stay!
Very good hotel in this price range. You can not beat the location. Very friendly staff. Rooms are small but clean. Breakfast is very good. Lots of variety.
Small rooms but modern. Excellent location to visit Avignon.
Excellent as always
A very clean, comfortable, efficient and modern hotel. Like the other Ibis hotels I have stayed at in this group, it offered a straightforward all-you-need service without pretension. Good selection of breakfast food; different breads, fruit, cereals etc. Excellent.
Hotel is close to train station. The room was very small.
No more than one night if you have a train to catch. Location to the Centre train station the only plus. The moldy/musty smell in the bathroom was really bad. Staff was super sweet though.
The Ibis is conveniently located next to both the train and bus stations. The bedding was very comfortable and the breakfast was decent. Didn't like the meager supply of personal grooming items. They provide only a combined shower gel/shampoo and the shower tube and the sink tube were both almost empty.
Very central
Nice hotel right by the train station
Good as good Ibis's standard
Convenience location. Near Avignon Centre
good location: next to train station
Convenient location, friendly staff
Stayed here for 4 nights and it was a good choice. The hotel is well-located beside the train station as well as the bus station, which is convenient when making day trips out of the city. Excellent service - needed help with the bus schedules and the hotel staff were even more helpful than those at the tourist office.. who just shoved them to me without bothering to explain further. Rooms are basic - typical ibis standard but clean, comfortable and sufficient for a good night's rest. I would definitely stay here again!
Budget hotel next to train station
Good condition budget hotel just next to train station. Bed is comfortable.
Don't be put off by the exterior - the hotel is excellently soundproofed, clean, comfortable and well-located. The views over the city and the Palais des Papes are a great bonus! The staff are friendly and responsive but perhaps a bit thin on the ground.
Tourist trip
Ideally situated to do tourist things but bad area with young people hanging around the entrance all day and into the night. Security entrance made it worrying. Car had to be left in station car park.
Very close to Avignon Centre Train station. You shouldn't expect much, a budget choice with standard service for this price is value for money. The only thing is Room may need deep cleaning.
Unexpected Surprise..
Was not expecting such a nice Ibis close to the train station. Must have been renovated recently. Very large and comfortable lobby area with a nice bar and also a kitchen. Room was small but very clean and up to date. Staff very friendly. Also a great location for walking into the old part of town. For the value it’s 5 stars.
Very near the station and Main Street. Clean hotel
Location Best!
Comfortable and very convenient. Great seevice
Good for price
Great location, bathroom tiny and could be cleaner in the out of the way places like along bottom of shower, staff lovely easy for station
Pleasant stay
convenient location and easy to find the parking lot right next to the hotel.
Excellent location to train station - couldn't have been nearer!
Pleasant and convenient
Pleasant stay and very convenient both for the railway station and for the city
Very nicely maintained basic no frills hotel.
Nicely maintained hotel. Quiet and comfortable. Staff is pleasant and efficient. The only negative was when we requested the desk clerk to order a taxi. We waited for 25 minutes and person who arrived was not an official taxi and overcharged us.
Convenient
Convenient location, comfortable, clean and functional.
Amazing Avignon
Couldn't fault Ibis on the outside Bur the surrounding area wasn't so nice very dirty but then that's France in general
Hotel convenient to Train Station and City.
Noise of trains is difficult with window open, which was needed in April warmth and prior to A/C being available.
Very nice hotel - just a little noisy if you are on the south side overlooking the tracks.
It was an interesting stay although some things were closed, it being Monday. I liked the old city. My room had a view of the city walls and the statue on top of the Popes' Palace. The visit was of historical interest, Although very clean the bathroom had a slight smell of having been used, even though it had been cleaned. Otherwise the room was satisfactory.
Five-star staff and a hotel with no surprises.
We had planned several day trips from Avignon. The hotel was next to the train station so for us the location was perfect. Despite trains day and night, we heard none of them from our quiet room. The room is small but functional. Nice bathroom. No surprises with IBIS, as they have a business formula that works well. The price is right!. A five minute walk to a great little square for dinner and drinks. The Hotel staff really made this place feel special. Kudos to Virginie, Mustapha and Raja. They should all get a big raise.
Budget hotels with no frills
budget hotel. don't expect any frills. a basic and clean room. narrow bathroom, not much space to put toiletries. the draining system in the bath is not good, slow draining. you would have to wait for the water to drain off slowly or else it will overflow and flood to the floor at the basin. with this reason, we had asked for extra towels (they only provide 2 bath towels and 1 floor towel). however, the staff said we had to pick them up at the reception ourselves and no one can bring up. imagine you have reached your room, unpack and ready to shower. how convenient is that to go down front office to get them? eventually the bathroom is flooded and we have to step on wet towels. plus point is that it is near to the train station (about a min walk). so this helped us in catching our early morning train.
Great location
The rooms clean, the bathrooms although clean it wouldn't harm to have a slight make over but the reception area and service is spot on. Very close to the gatehouse of the wall city, so great location and for the price of the hotel you can't fault! Would stay again
Convenient for making connections.
This was a one night stay prior to starting the part of the driving vacation through Provience, convenient to where we got off of the river boat, and picking up a rental car.

Very good budget hotel, convenient for city rail.
Efficient check in on line, quick turnaround at reception. Great city view. Coffee machine in room.
