The staff were nice enough. The room was absolute filth. Mould in the bathroom and bedroom. Had a much more comfortable stay at a Hostel down the road. Do not recommend.

The property is centrally located. Daily? Room servicing was unreliable, had to ask for sheets to be changed after 10 days. Shower drain mostly blocked, toilet not cleaned, toilet paper had to repeatable ask for.

Lots of noise at night, staff didn’t remove the portable bed after committing, fid not understand English properly

Calling for smartness

They should try to be smart, very smart. Especially the bathroom. They should replenish toiletries as well as scrub the toilet floor and walls so that clients plan to come back or refer other people. They should also sweep the room floors everyday when there is a client. They should be professional especially on the reception area. They should buy proper detergents not user old containers over and over again to refill. They are nice people but dirty.

Overall stay was pleasant. Staff was friendly. Lift very smooth. No issues. Only negative is that the bathroom was not as clean as photos presented, and there were ants.

The photos used for reference is not accurate. This hotel has seen better days. The shower and bathroom sinks haven't been cleaned in years covered in soap scum and the tiles were lifted off the floor with dirt coming out of the cracks. There were also holes and cracks in the walls with ants coming out of the opening. Also we booked a king bed plus 2 twins and it turned out to be one twin bed and one cot. We specified that we booked based on the bed listing but they informed us there is no room with 3 actual beds. Expedia really needs to change that as it is inaccurate info. We pre-paid for 4 nights and left after the first night. They would not refund us even with the issues we outlined. The front desk in the evening was very unpleasant. While we were trying to check out, I asked if we're good to leave after we returned the key, she said to wait and then started ordering food on her phone. We just took our belongings and left. I have never given a bad review before but I do think its the hotels responsibility to have proper cleaning and sanitizing of the rooms as well as pest control. I was in Vietnam for 3 weeks and no other lodging had issues. It needs to be properly maintained with the bare minimums and fix all the walls and floors.

My room was exactly as advertised, with a large balcony :). Location is great , right in the middle of everything ! There are no pool or gym but was not expecting one . The staff is what made this stay so good . They were very attentive always welcoming and arranged my tours to surrounding areas. Good stay all in all

The girl on reception was exceptional each morning at breakfast and throughout the day and I can’t praise her enough as were the other staff would return next year if coming to Hanoi

The original room we were given was not satisfactory. Our stay was 5 nights. The first night was noisy and an old bathroom. The subsequent room was very good.

This was my third stay at the Hanoi Gatsby, and while there are many hotels to choose from in the Old Quarter, I would definitely stay at the Gatsby another time and see no reason to change! The staff are always very friendly and helpful, rooms are large with very comfy beds, and breakfast is excellent. Also an ideal location for exploring Hoan Kiem, so many great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

They cancelled our room WITHOUT any notifications beforehand. They should've contacted us tons of time if they really know what customer service is. We booked the room a month ago and even contacted them 5 hours before arrival when we had a connectiong flight at Incheon-Seoul airport in Korea to double check the reservations we had made. We arrived the hotel around midnight using "their" airport pickup. And all we heard from them at the front was that there was no room for us. They arranged other room in other hotel and tried to convince us that we could stay there until the end of our trip. We even wanted to argue them because we were so tired to do so. Also their English is not good enough to understand what we were complaining about. And We wouldn't agreed without them if we were that much tired after almost 20 HOURS FLIGHT FROM TORONTO, CANADA. We brought all our luggage at midnight and went over to the other hotel. We really want to sleep ASAP. BUT we never slept that night. After taking a shower, we became very furious about the crappy alternative room they provided and we should deserve more than that for sure. I logged in to Expedia and check the price the room we had at that time. It was about $31/per night as I remembered. The original room we suppossed to had is $51.08/per night. OMG ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SO, I called customer service on Expedia.ca. My husband were ventilating to a wonderful lady and she offered us a better room in Little Hanoi Deluxe.

Very nice small hotel,great location near lake,markets also train street.The staff cannot do enough to make your stay most enjoyable and will cater to your every need.I am not an easy customer,this hotel and the wonderful staff easily exceed any expectation,you may have.

The hotel is clean, attractive and the staff are very helpful. They did make an error with our room booking, which meant we had to wait around for a room at 6 in the morning. However, the staff were apologetic and the rest of the stay was great, and they went out of their way to help us with other matters. Breakfast is very nice, although they should have a drinking water machine available to reduce plastic use.

Nice 3 star hotel right in the middle of Hanoi's Old Quarter so perfect for sightseeing. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and can't do enough to help. Breakfast included fruits and cereals as a buffet and a range of Western and Asian options a la carte. All rooms had a wonderful air conditioner which was essential in August with the comparatively high temperatures and humidity - even over night. Overall highly recommended for westerners new to Vietnam.

Had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely from the moment the booking was confirmed all the way to the end of the stay. Good English, very helpful in terms of helping organise your itinerary for tours and transportation (to and from airport). Clean and interesting interior with the necessary amenities. Also located within the old quarter so close to many places in the city.

Our family of 4 spent 5 days at the Gatsby and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel only has 10 rooms and is a similar size from the outside to many other boutique hotels in the old quarter. We liked the location of the Gatsby, though, as it was a little removed from some of the louder areas of the old quarter but still close enough to have easy access to shops, restaurants, Sword Lake, etc... The hotel is simple, but had everything we needed for our stay. We chose this hotel over others because they had a room with actual beds for 4 people. The beds are not overly comfortable by Western standards, but were sufficient. The breakfast each morning was always freshly prepared and there were enough choices for us to all have something we enjoyed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at the Gatsby again for a future visit.

This is a fantastic hotel & the staff are beyond helpful. Even prior to our trip Jessie was watts apping with advice & helping us to book halong bay etc. Great assistence all during our stay. The hotel really had no short comings (although we did initially think it was smaller than expected but the bedrooms & beds were very spacious) but if it did the assistance provide by staff would override them. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and service went above and beyond, for example providing complementary drinks when in reception.

Everything was amazing! Staff was so kind and always willing to help. They have more than amazing costumer service. They upgraded our room for free, got an amazing flower decoration. They gave us suggestion what to see and what to do. We booked at Hotel tour to Ha Long bay, very well organized. At the end they gave us a gift when we check out and one of the staff even walked us to the bus station. In one word: Excellent!

Words can not describe how amazing this hotel is. My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. Great communication before arrival as we booked the Orchid Cruises package with them. They gave great advice on other aspects of our trip through Vietnam too. As it was our honeymoon they gave us a free upgrade to a suite on arrival. Petals, swan towel and bottle of red wine. Amazingly friendly helpful and welcoming staff, they always remember your name. Good Aircon and great shower. Lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

This hotel was not ready for customers, everything was not set up with constant power trips and lack of amenities such as a service phone, an operational table and even a simple clothes hook in the toilet

I am 36 years old and have travelled a lot all over the world. This will be an unforgettable accommodation experience. Tracy and staff have to be the nicest people I’ve ever met. Such fantastic hosts. Tracy herself has a passion for tourism and Vietnam and will offer you all kinds of guidance and suggestions on activities. She is obviously well connected in the industry as well. The hotel is gorgeous is boutique and in the heart of the Old Quarter. I was having such a great time that I extended my stay at the hotel 3 nights. Really, can’t say enough good things about it. (Also a great breakfast!)

First let me start by saying, we have travelled from North to South Vietnam and this hotel is by far our favourite and in fact one of our favourite hotels ever actually and we have stayed in 5 stars across the world that do not provide the excellent level of service and care that Gatsby hotel do (and we have very high expectations). We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we arrived, given a fresh juice and fresh fruit whilst we we’re checked in, given local information that was extremely helpful and then shown to our room which was beautiful. The entire hotel is spotless, the decor is really lovely and new and the service is outstanding. We also had breakfast and you can order whatever you want from the menu which is great as everything is fresh and hot and you can order as much as you want. The location is also fantastic, literally 2 min walk to the lake if that. Overall, the hotel have got everything spot on, including the little things that really make the difference. I’d also like to particularly mention Ruby who was very helpful and always smiling so thank you. We hope to return to Gatsby hotel and highly recommend other visitors to Hanoi to stay at this incredible hotel.

We will be raving about the Hanoi Gatsby Hotel for the rest of our lives! My boyfriend and I stayed here while visiting Hanoi, and the hotel's aesthetics, comfort, food and SERVICE exceeded all of our expectations. We have stayed at many 5 and 6 star hotels around the world, and the Gtasby Hotel easily sits amongst the top. The hotel was beautiful, clean, conveniently located, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel staff. Every single employee we interacted with went above and beyond to fulfill any request. We could not believe the level of service; and every day had another "amazing story" to tell one another about how Mie or Anna or other staff member helped us out that day. Our first morning there, my boyfriend was in search of some toiletries. He went downstairs to ask the front desk where the nearest store is. Not only did the staff member let him know exactly where it was, she proceeded to walk him to the store herself, and help translate to ensure got exactly what he needed! The day I checked out was the day of my birthday, and neither my boyfriend nor I let the staff know ahead of time. Yet, every where we walked in the hotel, the staff wished me a happy birthday, and of course had a beautiful dessert waiting for me at breakfast. I can't wait to return, and to take my friends and family with me next time!

びっくりでした。

402の部屋に宿泊しましたが、シャワー室の排水が悪く水がたまり　トイレまで水浸しになった。トイレの水のたまる音なのか　ポトポト音が気になった。シャワールームの掃除がされてなかった。 202の部屋のWiFiがつながらなかった。 いろいろありすぎたて　思い出が沢山残るホテルになりました。

バスタオルは糸が抜けるし、接客は1人以外は最低　夜中は子守りの合間の対応で無愛想。シャワーの温水は5分も保たないです。 ロケーション以外は最低でした。

We had a incredible stay at Hanoi Gatsby! The staff is very friendly and will help you with whatever you need. The rooms are very nice and spacious. Breakfast is very nice since you can order two options from a menu plus serve yourself in the buffet. Localization is also great! Walking distance from the main attractions. Would definitely stay here again!
