Lovely stay staff great

Breda was a wonderful place! Not a tourist location so the crowds were smaller. Easy to get to and from by train from Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Great place to stay and then do day trips around The Netherlands.

The hotel is in a good location and staff are friendly and helpful. Generally the facilities are good. The only negatives are that for the price paid, you would expect a fridge and complementary water in the room .

Golden Hotel to stay at

Really lovely hotel, very helpful staff, nice rooms. slightly off the main square of Breda which was nice as the hotel was quiet at night. Nice breakfast as well We would recommended highly

Just a simple really lovely stay

I liked the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff and the location near the city centre.

Good hotel, room was large with a balcony. Staff were excellent and the breakfast selection was one of the best. Will be going back

Golden Tulip Breda, excellent all round

I stayed in the Golden Tulip, Breda for 4 nights in August 23. I cannot fault any aspect of the experience. Room was spacious and comfortable with all the facilities you'd expect plus some you wouldn't eg I got the Scottish Gaelic TV station! Breakfast was lovely with a nice wide choice of items. Crucially, all the staff I dealt with were extremely personable endlessly patient and very helpful. I'd stayed there for 4 nights back in the summer of 2008, and remember that the staff then were exceptional as well. Not sure whether it's down to inspired recruitment or excellent training, but whatever it is it works. Would recommend staying there to anybody

You sign in to hotel and then have to leave main hotel entrance and walk outside to the entrance for your room.

Amazing staff, not so hotel

The staff at Golden Tulip were fantastic and were always incredibly friendly and helpful. However, the first issue we encountered was due to noise from a construction site next door. The front desk were aware of the issue, and quickly put us in a new room. The hotel should really cut down the number of guests, to help prevent disturbed stays. We were moved into a much larger room, but the room was very dated. The bed was difficult to sleep in, as it dropped on one side. We were also disturbed by other guests running on the roof, on our last night’s stay. After trying several times to call reception with no answer, we gave up and tried to sleep through it.

Very friendly staff, big room

Perfectly placed for the centre of town. Excellent staff and service throughout the hotel and very clean. Short walk to car park facilities €10 per day. We will certainly be back.

Amazing staff with a ‘can do’ attitude. Very accommodating and helpful, going the extra mile. The rooms are quite big and well equipped, bed comfortable and plenty of space to hang your clothes.

All good but note that there is no parking

Stayed for jazz festival to see one specific band. Fortunately, band was staying in same hotel and I met most of them briefly. Hotel was all good but maybe a bit expensive. Very conveniently situated. Green clog idea good but no system.

Hotel staff is very nice and accommodating to English speakers. Room was clean and quiet. They have a gimmick where you don't have your room cleaned, and they reward you with a free drink, but we were charged for both nights of free drinks, so check your receipt. Other than that, it was very good overall.

It was amazing the hotel was within walking distance of everything. The ladies at the front desk where very friendly.

It was so loud from the bar downstairs that our beds were moving. Literally! We paid for a superior room and got a regular room. Breakfeast buffet was disappointing. Coffee machine in room did not work. The only positive thing was the location very close to the centre of town

Liked it enough to stay multiple times

I have stayed here multiple times and have been very pleased. It's close to Breda center (easily walkable) and a short drive to the train station (or nice 15 minute walk). Staff is very responsive and helpful. Rooms are roomy by NL standards (a bit small if you are used to US hotels, but larger than avg for Europe).

Convenient and friendly hotel

I stayed at the hotel for one night only, to attend a wedding. Reception was very friendly. The location was perfect; walking distance from all the places I needed to be. The room was nicely decorated and spacious, but not very sound-proof. Conversations on the street or in front of the elevator opposite the room could be overheard.

Lovely Hotel Close to Breda Centre

A large group of friends stayed here to celebrate a 40th Birthday - Lovely hotel, friendly staff, our room was available earlier than advertised check in! - Great place to stay to explore the lovely local area - I would return.

Overall very good including welcoming; however, the room has an open bathroom area, this means a toilet/shower/sink area separated from the main room by a wall that does not reach the ceiling. Both toilet and shower had no doors, meaning that anyone standing at the double sink would see fully the toilet and shower areas. being opened any steam, odours or noises would reach the main bedroom area. Not happy with such arrangement. Bed was very comfortable

Poor Bathroom Design

I was disappointed that the bathroom did not have a door, and the shower was not enclosed, so the steam from the shower went into the next room. The back of the shower was enclosed with clear blocks, and the shower door did not close properly, so water spilled out onto the floor. The towels were not replaced on the second night. The toilet was also visible when you were standing in the hall. We could also hear people partying in the street below.

Very Nice Location; a Couple Surprises

We didn't realize that breakfast was €19 a person. The wifi disconnected pretty often and was fairly weak in some places. Everything else was great, especially how close the hotel is to the old part of Breda.

Good hotel for what we wanted

Great hotel, staff, easy distance to centre. Parking was a bit of a walk but not difficult. Easy drop off at front of hotel.

Good hotel in central location in Breda

Needed a reasonable hotel for a short weekend get together of friends from around the world in Breda. And this fitted the bill perfectly. Didn't eat at the hotel as so many places to eat in "downtown" Breda, so can't really comment on the restaurant quality, but the menu looked ok. A bit of a walk from the railway station, but as I knew Breda, it was easy to navigate my way through the park, past the Military Academy and through the Big Market to the hotel on the ring road. Others took the easy route of a 5 minute taxi ride :)

Lovely town for a short visit

Very close to the town square, walking distance to station if you don't mind dragging your case over the cobblestones. Staff were lovely, restaurant /bar was very comfortable . The shops of Breda are lovely and the town is very pretty especially with the Christmas lights.?

This is a nice hotel close to the city centre.

A great place to go shopping, close to the museum, casino and theatre. The staff were very helpful and friendly, room standard was very clean and well maintained.

Lovely get away

HUGE room, nice bathroom. Bathroom had some mold spots, but in those difficult corners. Shower was fabulous, a real power shower!

Very nice basic hotel

Stayed here for a few nights in September. It was a very pleasant stay. And, it was just a couple minutes walking distance from anything I wanted to do. I would definitely stayed here again.

Nice Central and Clean hotel.

Nice Central and Clean hotel. Very quiet - mainly business travelers. Right by central Breda with shops, lively cafes, bars and restaurants 5 minutes walk away. Parking is a bit tricky to find and at 10 Euro per day an extra expense. Breakfast was a bit limited and slow to access at busy times.

Great location

I booked this hotel for a family member staying on their own (I didn't have space to accommodate). It's clean, comfortable, safe and very central. It's a 5 minute walk to the market and there is no noise at all. Overall it's a great hotel with great staff

God hotel for short breaks

Neat, inexpensive hotel within 5 minutes walk of the main square. Staff are friendly and helpful. would happily recommend for short stays or business travel.

Comfortable but warn

Restaurant was very good. Hotel was a bit warn, blackout curtains had holes in the lining allowing light into the room.

One night in Bred

One night in Breda, lovely small city. Stay on the night before the King's birthday and party in the streets. The hotel was good. Didn't eat there as the breakfast was pricey and there are loads of cafes and restaurants and bars in the pedestrian precinct < 5 mins walk away. The public car parking is okay once you find it, at 10 euros per 24 hours, but beware of the card payment machines which don't like UK credit or debit cards, so you need to locate the cash payment machines which aren't at every pedestrian entrance.

Close to City Center

Very nice Hotel. Wen t to Breda to visit my Daughter and was told by her to stay here. Glad I took her advice. This was the nicest Hotel I have ever stayed at in Europe. The room was huge! Very modern and very clean inside and out.

Great hotel in Breda

This hotel is exceptionally comfortable. The rooms are spacious and the bed was excellent. The breakfast was well presented and very tasty. I requested a meeting room and the staff went out of their way to accommodate my needs. Everything worked out perfectly.

Everything fine

Arrived late at night and the receptionist gave us the keys without any fuss allowing us to go straight to our room, room was clean and functional. We left early the next morning and checkout was painless and quick.

The hotel is in a great location about a block or so from the old city center. The staff there was excellent. I would definately stay again,

Good not great, too expensive for basic service

Meh. Two tea baggies only provided with the in-room tea/coffee supplies, which says it all. Staff is helpful when asked for something, but seem more interested in themselves rather than looking out for the guests, so you are always looking for them. The wifi was free but kept logging your phone/laptop out all the time. The room was very warm even with the heating/AC turned off, in February I had to sleep with the balcony door wide open in order to cool the room down, whilst a winter storm was raging outside. Nice though that there was a door/window that opens. Overall, good not great. For the money it should be a LOT better. Oh and worst was that deep fry oil smell in the lobby that comes in from the kitchen. Like walking into a greasy spoon joint. Yuk! Tip: for a much cheaper and healthier breakfast, walk out the front door, go basically straight into the lane that brings you to the shopping street, turn right to find a nice deli on the corner.

Great Location

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The quality of the rooms, breakfast choice and quality, staff efficiency, free Wi-Fi and even choice of music in the restaurant and art works on the walls make this an excellent and restful hotel. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to future travellers. If this is an example of the standard of all hotels under this brand then I would stay again with the 'Tulip' organisation.

Tulip Hotel Breda - Clean, good value, nice staff

Enjoyed my stay. A lovely room, well equipped, I had two single beds, if I were to stay again I'd ask for a double as the singles were very narrow. I will stay here again if in Breda.

Leuk hotel, dichtbij het centrum! Vriendelijk personeel, zowel achter de receptie als bij het ontbijt. Kamer was schoon, badkamer mooi en modern, ontbrak alleen een föhn. Verder helemaal niets te klagen!

Helt greit hotell et steinkast fra sentrum. Stor offentlig parkering tvers over veien. Godt med en fungerende aircondition på rommet da det var 29 grader.

We hadden op onze kamer slechts 1 stopcontact bij ons bed. Ook had de kamer een open badkamer/toilet. We prefereren toch echt een deur. Voor de rest erg goed hotel, zou om bovenstaand nog steeds terugkomen.

Very nice hotel. Nearby the shopping center and many restaurants. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very good. I had a pleasant stay.

Zoals tijdens het verblijf al aangegeven was de kamer erg stoffig. Nadat ik dit had aangegeven is er iets aan stof weggehaald door een vlotte medewerker. Daarna constateerden we dat de tegels in de badkamer te smerig waren. Niet alleen urine spetters maar ook smerige hand afdrukken op oog hoogte en ook op meerdere plekken. De dag van uit checken ontvingen we een gratis ontbijt, het ontbijt was uitzonderlijk goed. Alleen jammer dat er een muis door ruimte rende toen we klaar waren met eten.

It is located at the edge of the city centre. You can walk in 2 minutes to the shopping area, bars, restaurants or the parking garage. The rooms were very clean, neat en great beds. Staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is really nice too. I recommend this hotel!

Vriendelijk en behulpzaam receptie medewerkers

Wij hadden de deluxe room en vonden het een top accommodatie. De kamer was ook juist gerenoveerd dus heel mooi, heel ruim, rustig gelegen en vooral ook stil 's nachts wat niet overal het geval is in een hotel. Heel goed en lekker ontbijt, alles was aanwezig. Vriendelijk personeel, iedereen staat klaar om te helpen.

Voor herhaling vatbaar

Zeer vriendelijk personeel, kamer was netjes. Alleen erg gehorig op de gang en de bedden staan op plavuizen waardoor dus snel verschuiven.
