Safe and quiet neighborhood. Park is beside the hotel, good for walk. Public transportation is not as convenient. The front desk staff are great. Housekeeping was okay; towels changed and garbage removed. But bedding was not changed or made.

Our stay at The Garden View was lovely. It was our second stay here. We initially booked another hotel but after one night we transferred over to the Garden View. The staff were amazing, very welcoming and even gave us our room at 9:30am instead of 2pm due to our previous night in HK. Our only issue was that the sink in the bathroom leaked onto the floor when turning the tap on and whenever a toilet was flushed we heard it in our bathroom so maybe a blockage somewhere and the bed was as hard as a rock. Otherwise our stay here was great and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hong Kong

The property is a little far up a hill but if you are looking for a clean, affordable, well maintained, and simple hotel this is perfect. We liked it!

Quiet location, but...

The hotel is peaceful and located away from the city. However, if you’re not fond of walking up and down steep hills, this may not be the place for you. It is also far from public transportation, so we had to walk 20-25 minutes to find breakfast each morning. In the evening, we took a taxi back. The room service was disappointing. On most days, the room was not cleaned, and the bed was not made. One day, someone took the dirty towels but didn’t replace them with clean ones. When we asked about this, the front desk staff claimed the towels had been replenished, which wasn’t true. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was friendly, polite, and patient, providing helpful restaurant recommendations. The hotel is also close to the botanical garden, which is a lovely place for a morning walk.

The service was excellent. Especially Will, who was incredibly thoughtful when we were checking in after a long trip to HK. It was like a Christmas gift, encountering his kindness.

Quiet, my room has a good view of the Hong Kong Garden. Convenient bus service to and from the MTR, but you have to ask where the bus stop is at Admiralty.

The room was clean and everything worked. Shower was a little tepid but functional. Staff friendly. Room advertised as sleeping 3 but really sleeps two unless you all sleep in the one bed. Recommend adding a third bed in a pull out couch to make the room description accurate.

We I chose an upgraded room when booking (not the cheapest room) but our room didn’t have any features or amenities that differed from the cheapest room. Felt like a bait and switch.

Excellent hotel, with great amenities. Easy walk to central, albeit you need to be quite fit to walk up and down the hill. Taxis are cheap however, so no issues accessing this excellent hotel with wonderful views across the park and city.

Garden View is situated halfway up the hill, but not too far to walk down to Central district. The front desk and the concierge are very friendly and helpful, appreciate their help. Room is not too small, but would be nice to have a stand to put luggage on instead on the floor.

Firstly I want to say thank you to everyone from Front Desk, Concierge and Housekeeping. They’re superb, professional, friendly and extremely helpful particularly when I had extended my stay. They always here try to help if possible. Everything was great. There’s a supermarket next door. Easy to get around everywhere. Just the bathroom was a bit outdated. Otherwise, I’d say it’s a perfect stay.

Other than the daily change of towels & garbage, my husband & I enjoyed walking through the Botanical Garden on our way to the Central MTR station every day. Even though the hotel is a bit out of the way to the MTR station, we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel before check-in time once we arrived from the airport and also after our check-out time to go to the airport. A must to go swimming in the pool on a hot & humid day. The staff were friendly and helpful.

It was my first time staying here and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to go shopping and it’s about a 20 minute walk to all the shopping centers and major areas. It a 5 min walk to the botanical gardens and it’s a beautiful calm area. If you don’t like to walk, it can get pretty steep walking up or down so it’s easier to take a cab or Uber. If you do like to walk, then you’ll definitely get a workout but you can always sit and rest at the botanical garden.

The bed is too hard , overall is good

This is a great hotel! Close to central things to see, like harbour, Times Square, Botanical Gardens and night market. Very easy to check taxi on street right outside. Could use a change of carpet but clean

This property is located in the centre of Hong Kong Island and has easy access to other parts of Hong Kong by public transport. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful.

I like the location because it was easy to go anywhere. It was very quiet. Staff was friendly. House keeping needs to improve. Cups were not cleaned or changed. Tea bags were not replaced. Sink counter was not cleaned.

Stay was ok. Hotel could use some updating. My room was clean, but not spotless…bathroom especially. Area is not right in central Hong Kong & difficult to walk to/navigate to places. I did like that the hotel was near the peak tram & across from the botanical gardens.

On a hill

Hotel was fine, although relatively close to (Lively) area it is at the top of a hill with a lot of steps and steep slopes, so wouldn't recommend unless very mobile

Just a great hotel, that's a bit quieter than the norm In Hong Kong. Situated next to the zoological gardens which are a great place to walk round and conveniently located within 100 yards of a supermarket.

It was centrally located in the mid level of hk. Very convenient for tourists. Each time I came to hk for the last 40 years I always stayed in garden view. Recent trip to hk I noticed it was not as cleaned as used to be. I hope the manegment will do something to improve it

The only plus is the neighborhood is quiet and it's a nice night time stroll. The negatives, unfortunately for me, outweigh the positives. Very limited dining in the area. That being said, I don't recommend Cafe Bar on 8 due to the exceptionally terrible service and food. Lastly, there is no direct MTR. You have to take the bus into Central.

Great hotel, great value for money

Really good value for money. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and they offer room service every day. The room has all the essentials you could need (hair dryer, body wash, moisturiser, toothbrush etc). It’s in a fantastic location. We really enjoyed our stay! Our only criticism would be that the mattresses are very firm, which isn’t what we’re used to. However, this wouldn’t stop he staying again in future. I’d definitely recommend for your stay in HK.

Service staff at front desk were very helpful. As this is a 3 star hotel, can't expect much. Moving around is generally convenient with 12A bus service to nearest MTR (Admiralty) train station, which is about 10min ride. Bus comes every 15 mins. A quiet residential area. Don't expect shops and eateries within walking distance.

Hard to get to stres

We enjoyed our stay at the Garden View very much. The hotel is in the mid-level and within walking to central and admiralty. We had a suite for the three of us. Our son sleep in the living area while we sleep in the bedroom. The hotel is very roomy and clean. The staff are excellent and very helpful. They offered great suggestions. We were having problem with hailing a taxi one day and the staff suggested a different waiting point within a couple of minutes walk. The only draw back of our stay is we have to order a roller bed for our son which cost quite a bit. You would think the sofa would be a sofa bed but its not. In any case, the positives far our weight the negatives. This hotel will be our go to place in Hong Kong. Making our trip very pleasant.

This hotel was in a nice area next to animals and botanic garden. Very useful supermarket next door and breakfasts good in adjoining property. A little difficult to get bus but taxi to most places only £5. The foyer and lifts very clean but we felt cleaning in room was poor. Generally a good stay and good value for money

Ok but lacking in amenities.

Clean. Convenient location. 12A bus gets you to Central every 15 minutes in 10 minutes. Restaurant and pool were closed when we were there. No coffee maker or microwave provided…only a fridge. Really weak WiFi! Had to go across the street to TwoM hotel for food or drinks..beautiful view from 8th floor and Happy Hour from 5-7

I usually stay at GV in HK because of the location which is super convenient for my own personal reasons. It is not a super luxurious place BUT it is clean, comfortable, spacious, and the staff are always excellent, very friendly and helpful overall. Incredibly good value in a very central location if you want to be in the mid levels area.

Spacious room and washroom, comfy, nice staff, quiet, tv can watch netflix was a bonus, will definitely come back.

Very nice room. Clean and comfy. Furniture and toilet are in good condition. I enjoyed the hot water bath so much! Very soothing and promotes circulation. Nice stay in Garden View! One thing need to improve is the blanket which is very thin. Cannot keep warmth. Need to add an extra one.

An Escape In Central

The hotel located in a very quiet residential area on the Midlevels. There was no hotel shuttle. Everyone living in the area takes a bus or minibus as their major commuting vehicles. However, because the pace was 🐌 and the routines were laid back. It assisted to calm your mind and become more assertive and easy taking.

Staffs are friendly and professional. Room size is fair and great location for work.

Very good hotel with reasonable prices. The hotel has both city and garden view, staff are friendly. There is not easy to find nearby public transportation, only taxis, fortunately the taxis cost in Hong Kong is quite low.

A pleasant stay

We were upgraded for free to a room with a nice view facing a park. Also, we were pleased that the room is nice and clean, and pleasantly conditioned. Consider the price it was a bonus.

The location of the hotel is great, it is within walking distance to Lan Kwai Fang and other places of interest, as well as a supermarket nearby. I got a free room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The room was also very spacious and clean, with adjustable temperature settings for each room. While I wished the hotel lobby staff were more friendly (smile more, greet you when you are back, let you know that they will be with you shortly when the guest in front of the queue is taking a long time), they are at least competent enough. I cannot recommend this place enough.

The room is simple and clean. The only thing I didn’t like was the smelly shower curtain, which I wish they changed out. The shower drain was also clogged and it took awhile to drain out the water

This hotel has to be one of the best bargains in Hong Kong. Nice room and great view of Hong Kong skyline. Thought close to Hong Kong station, perhaps 3 kilometers, it is uphill all the way. Take a taxi if you have luggage. Only about $4.00 USD.

Good hotel

The staff were fantastic The room was comfortable and clean The pool was compact but delightful after a busy day and apart from a class or two i had it to myself. Nearness to peak tram line (need ticket before riding) Nearness to 12a bus stop to central was great. Downside room smelt of stale bodies and linen when i I arrived. Linen snelt fresh excepting one side of both pillows. Have suggested either wash them or replace which ithey say they will do.

The property feels old and definitely needs some renovation. The service still needs to be improved.

I was upgraded because of my wheelchair. This was a lovely surprise. The bathroom was adapted but the shower cubicle was not. If you needed a rolling chair to shower the cubicle was not big enough. It would also need grab rails inside the cubicle and storage shelf needs lowering. On our final day

The hotel made me deposit 500 HKD in order to check in, which was quite inconvenient and a bit of a nasty shock as I barely had enough cash left at that point in my trip. Otherwise the hotel is nice.

Was very clean and well prepared. It was environmentally friendly (used towls habe to be put into the bath tup); very good idea!
