I love the feel of the whole place, i loved the kitchenette in the room, everything you need. I loved spending time in the room. The spaces in the lobby and cafe were just gorgeous. Just a few mins from Earl’s Court station, loads of shops/places to choose from nearby if you want to eat in or out. I really recommend Ember Locke.
We loved staying here. The staff was so friendly and our room was perfect. I was traveling with my 7 year old. The laundry onsite helped us out a lot. The food in the hotel was good - especially for my son who loves pizza (they make great pizza). It is well decorated and in a great part of town.
Lovely stay. Rooms were a bit dusty which git my allergies going but for the average person it should be ok.
The Real Deal
Completely perfect. Feels warmer than the pictures. Really great staff and the chicest amenities with a killer price. Zero qualms.
We stayed for a week and it was an excellent location! It is minutes walking distance to the circle, district and Piccadilly underground lines which will take you to rail stations, to head to the airport, downtown corrections including Westminster abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham etc, and has amazing staff! They were so helpful and informative- we were highly impressed! Highly recommend!
Cosy, with some minor room for improvements
The lobby is lively and colourful, with many convivial sitting areas. The bedrooms are cosy, with a very functional mini kitchen setup. I really liked that they provided yoga mats in the rooms, tucked away in the dresser. Only real negative was the condition of the bathroom. I was in two different rooms, and they both had significant chipped areas of paint missing above the sink that made the whole experience feel more downmarket. Fixing that little thing would go a long way.
Great place to stay
Family break in London
When we arrived John welcomed us at the reception desk. John was so helpful, warm and informative, That we felt extended well looked after from the moment we entered the hotel. Nice touches in the room like sweets and popcorn. Very comfortable beds
The bed was sunken in and hurt our backs. Also the room was facing a very busy street and was so loud even with the windows closed.
Excellent place to stay in central London. Quiet, modern, classy place. This is my second time staying here.
Thumbs up
We had a great experience with friendly staff in a lovely hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at the apartments. Beatrice and George in particular made sure we felt at home and comfortable upon arrival. The rooms are lovely and couldn’t ask for much more. Location was perfect with ease of access to the rest of the city! Would definitely stay again
Concierge was exceptionally responsive to our housekeeping requests and our issues with table service in the lounge.
Great hotel in a great location
Great location abs a beautiful hotel! Our room has a little kitchenette that had everything we needed. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Have already recommended to friends and will be back again soon!
Stayed here for a week when I went to London. Absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. Staff were absolutely fantastic and super sweet. Everything was within walking distance, the Earls Court Station was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. They upgraded my room which I was so thankful for! The restaurant downstairs had a pretty decent selection of food and Tony, one of the managers at the bar was such a character; enjoyed talking to him when I was there. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. They’re definitely going to be seeing me back here again!
Me and my wife really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is beautiful and unique inside and is very close to the underground and many different restaurants. Would definitely recommend!
This was my second time staying at Ember Locke. I had an excellent first visit, so I was looking forward to staying again. I booked a City Studio. When I arrived for check-in, I was informed I was going to receive an "upgrade." However, that was not true. I was given a bigger studio on the main floor, but it was freezing, dingy, and smelly. I immediately went to the front desk to ask for the room type I had booked... Apparently, they had overbooked the City Studio. While the front desk staff changed my room the next day and provided a free breakfast, I felt I had lost a proper night's stay.
There is a girl who works at the cafe and breakfast who is not only totally incompetent. She was so disrespectful to me and my elderly companions. We were actually in shock because we have never experienced such poor service. Then the manger came out with another 2 men and started attacking us. Accusing us of being in the wrong. When this girl stuffed up constantly. She was nothing but RUDE and the way we were treated by her and the manager of the restaurant/cafe was wrong on so many levels. The shame is that the front desk staff were great. It was only this bad experience with this girl that ruined our stay and hence I won’t be back.
we had 4 rooms for 7 days with family and friends we all had a good experience we had no issues the 2 lady's at the front desk we very polite and very very friendly all the other staff was also friendly location was close to the train and pubs convenance stores and quite the rooms are a fare size and equipped with everything a family needs good job to everyone that makes the hotel a 5 star
We loved it here! The room aesthetic made it so comfortable and welcoming to come back to after each day. It is also located in a great area but far enough away from the busy city. Will definitely stay here again.
The staff was amazing! Everyone was really kind and helpful.
We found this hotel by chance searching Expedia and stayed here based on location and reviews. So glad that we did. The hotel has a fantastic and vibrant lobby with a coffee bar, plenty of seating and an alcohol bar. It's always bustling with social activity which makes it a fun place to hang out. The rooms are very spacious with a lot of amenities (we had a fridge, microwave, stovetop, washing machine, tea/coffee maker etc). The staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel is only a 6 minute walk to Earls Court tube which is on the District and Piccadilly lines. You can be standing outside Parliament within 20 minutes of walking out of the hotel door. Highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again when I'm next in London.
The Ember Locke Kensington has excellent public spaces and dining and cafe spaces. Great pizza and snacks all in a comfortable relaxing environment. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed with modern & retro styling. Very relaxing & enjoyable!
What pleasant stay. Very nice property. Walkable to the Tube in Earls Court. Great place.
We enjoyed our stay, but the room is quite small! It’s perfectly enjoyable if you didn’t have the large suitcases that we had for our two week trip. Other than that, it was wonderful!
The hotel had an appealing ambience complemented by the friendly staff. Its location makes it easily accessible to transport.

No hot water
Unfortunately we stayed for 2 nights and had no hot water for the entirety of the stay. I mean it was bitter cold and I actually cried when trying to shower to get clean it was so bad. I informed them the first morning but when we arrived back that night, it was still not sorted and when I tried to get further help from reception, there was actually only a security guard available and was unable to help. Whilst staff were friendly and nice, I feel this experience is totally unacceptable!
The staff at this location are the stars of the show. Also the night staff at Locke Broken Wharf especially the junior on night shift. Unfortunately for us there was a burst pipe half way through our stay (obviously things happen outside the hotels control) however the staff handled the situation exceptionally and we had no issues onwards to the Locke at Broken Wharf. We were a bit disappointed because it was a bit far from where we were however it is Xmas time and London is a busy city so it’s hard to find other accommodation. I wanted to write this review to thank the staff. They are a credit to Ember Locke (general hotel staff, bar staff, EVE Cafe staff etc) and Locke Broken Wharf. Bonuses for Xmas should be a must
Good location and nice property
we like our stay very much
Had an AMAZING time at Ember Locke. The staff was extremely pleasant.
Great place to stay. Comfortable and great staff.
Honestly I love the place. Places that you like to visit Everything you need is already there, feel like home. Staff are helpful, good service, friendly and supportive.
Finally a hotel with character!
This hotel has all the charm that you wish every other hotel could have. The colours, the plants, the vibrant life that exists within the walls of this hotel - all of it helped to make our stay feel like home away from home. We loved the aesthetic of the whole hotel. Our suite was quite spacious, and we took advantage of all the various sitting nooks to eat, drink coffee, or read. My one complaint was that the hotel seemed quite understaffed - particularly in the dining room/breakfast bar. We had to wait 20 minutes for menus, 30 minutes for our coffees, and another 20 minutes for the bill. This happened both times we opted to stay for the meal. While everything else about this hotel is wonderful, I would say that the food experience is only sub-par. The pastries don't taste all that fresh, and the service for sit-in dining is painfully slow. That being said, every interaction that we had with hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and fun. I would book here again!
The Ember Locke in London is beautifully designed and super stylish, but the service was incredibly disappointing. When we arrived at 10:00 am after an overseas overnight flight, we asked for an early check-in to rest before a gala we were attending at 6:00 pm. The staff assured us they would prioritize cleaning our room and made it seem like they would take care of us. However, after waiting in the lobby for hours, we didn’t receive our keys until 3:55 pm—just five minutes before standard check-in time. It was clear no real effort was made to accommodate us. Additionally, the breakfast experience was equally frustrating. The restaurant often had no staff present, leaving us waiting over 20 minutes on several occasions. One morning, despite arriving at 10:45 am, we were told we missed breakfast service, which ended at 11:00 am, due to the delay in being attended to. We noticed other guests experiencing similar frustrations, making it clear these issues are systemic. While the design is stunning, the lack of service made for an extremely disappointing stay.
We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was incredible. Such a cute spot & in a safe location close to public transport. The downstairs had the cutest bar and coffee shop, too!
LOVED this hotel/ property. Will definitely be returning for my next trip to London. It was a fantastic location with a great co working space, decorated beautifully. It felt more like a social club than a hotel. I would definitely come back for a longer stay. My ONLY issue was the lack of lighting in the room. Made it very hard to get ready and just function in general, the room was very dark
Arriving at Amber Locke we met John at the Front Desk who was extremely caring, friendly and helpful. He stayed kind through the entire stay. I am sorry we didn't see him to say goodbye, but we would definitely return to Amber to say hello once again. Thank you!!
Kensington Gem
The Hotel was lovely - great location, very Moroccan feel to the decor, rooms were spacious and comfortable. The onsite restaurant had just had all new staff, so service was a little chaotic but the food was amazing.
Unique hotel. Very quiet. Nice staff.Stayed in a medium studio which could have used more lighting. Hallways very hot, so never had to turn on room heater. Only issue was it took a long time to get hot water in the bathroom. Not sure if this was because it utilized hot water on demand or because we were on the 6th floor and the boiler was far far away. Would recommend and stay there again
Staff was so nice and friendly ! Great amenities and location!
Beautiful hotel, had everything I needed. Especially loved having laundry available. Great location!
Everything from the staff to the room to the surrounding neighborhood was great.
Good reasonably priced hotel in central London
Great find, good location and staff so friendly.
It was great, reliable though a bit pricey.
I really enjoyed my time at Ember Locke, the space was cozy and homey. Exactly what I was seeking. The staff was also very accommodating and friendly. We had a little temperature issue with my room But they took are of it very quickly by switching out my room~
Awesome place
Excellent location to all areas of venture
Got an early paid check in with Precious. Staff over our week were responsive in person and on Whatsapp. Our upstairs was hot (up to 26) so we had to keep the living area downstairs cool(19) to compensate. The fan provided helped move the air around. Love the atmosphere, services and location.
Very very cute place! Great location and very clean
Great stay, comfortable and well designed room. Warm friendly welcome. The ac didn’t work but it was very cold outside so we opened the window. Ambient temperature in the room was too warm for sleeping otherwise. Apart from this perfect stay, clean well appointed room and super quiet. Gym is a bit sparse so wouldn’t bother with this.
We had a nice stay
Friendly staff, great location.
Superb hosts and they have a style
Beautiful, clean and comfortable. Hotel is easy accessible to the underground tube. 10 mins away from kings cross.
Ember Locke provides a home-away-from-home experience, functional mini apartments with impeccable upkeep. Close to convenience shops and multiple local and recognized eateries, easy train ride to London night life. Highly recommended.
Very convenient to Earl’s Court underground station. Just get on the Underground from Heathrow airport to Earl’s Court about 30-40 minutes. The staff at Kensington was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. We will visit London again and stay at this hotel.
Hotel was great! Clean rooms, friendly staff, neighborhood had many things in walkable distance. Overall pleased with the stay!
I had an amazing stay. It was very clean, great location close to the train station and the rooms were nice! George was amazing he was so friendly and gave excellent recommendations. His hospitality was top notch!!
A very conveniently located property. Excellent response time from staff to assistance. But the music in common area is too loud…perhaps that could be a quieter space for reading or working for guests?
The staff was attentive, and the room was comfortable. I enjoyed the ambiance of the lounge and access to the rear garden.
This is an excellent location if you're looking for a quiet neighborhood while still being close to all that London has to offer. The kitchenette was handy for small meals, and there are loads of shops and restaurants nearby. Not your typical hotel but definitely a great place at a great price in a great location.
I enjoyed my stay at the property, however a notable con was that there is no daily cleaning and they do not offer body lotion.
Very convenient location - close two tube stations and easy walk to high street Kensington. Room had everything you need and lobby and breakfast spaces very cute and comfy. Staff all very helpful and available at desk at all hours. Site said linens provided weekly but we were offered new towels on our fourth day which was great. Would definitely stay at again.
Very good hotel, the best area in London, we walked to the museum. Good restaurants and the breakfast in the hotel is good. The tub and buses were very close.
Great stay!!
Great option in London!
Large room for London. Easy location to get around. Great decor. Lots of amenities. Highly recommended.
It’s a hidden gem! Nice place to stay with warm reception. Front desk John and his colleagues are such nice people, especially John, he can remember our names and say hello to us every time we met each other… on the day check out, he even walked out with us with farewell greetings! Book this Locke and you will feel like home. Thanks!
The room room packed a lot of facilities into its compact size but felt quite cluttered as a result. A few of the facilities needed a touch up.
A great place to stay in South Kensington with friendly and helpful staff and convenient dining options, though the kitchenettes allow for some economy by making some of your own meals. The decor was very warm and comfortable and the rooms felt spacious for London. Very close to Earl's Court tube station and the bus lines. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend.
Great hotel. Loved the staff and the decor!
Loved my stay here. I was here for work and stayed 6 nights. Loved the decor, the room was very comfortable and quiet. Great location, nice and close to Earls Court tube stop. The bed was comfortable and I loved the vibe of the place. Will definitely book to stay here again.
Super cute hotel and staff was nice. Only issue was fire alarm went off several times due to rooms having small kitchens, family rooms are below coffee station in lobby so you hear knocking constantly all morning and our room vanity sink had no hot water and our tub didn’t drain properly. (And our key card had to be reset every day)
Great location, beautifully decorated, kind staff. Only issue is some rooms are smaller than others when it comes to the same room type
People are great. No heat in Oct, cleaned once for 8 nights.
Staffs were very kind and friendly. Close to the underground(Earl's Court).
My stay here was awesome! The staff was great, John at the front desk was extremely nice and helpful to get all settled to the hotel and London in general. I’ll definitely visit again! :)
Amazing service and unique ambiance. Loved it ☺️
Everything was good but the best part was the great staff they have at this place. Highly recommend. Thank you guys.
One of the coolest places to stay in London.
The interiors are amazingly adorable. The rooms were very quiet. Good location, near a tube stop and easy to get around London from.
Loved!
Absolutely loved this hotel! The cozy room and beautiful lobby, restaurant and bar all live up to the photos 100%. I'd recommend booking a rate with breakfast included as it was delicious and a perfect way to start the day. We look forward to coming back and trying other Locke properties around Europe.
Perfect spot!
Great location. Beautiful hotel.
Absolutely loved it !!
Absolutely Stunning Stay
This was one of my most favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed in! The style and aesthetic is absolutely lovely. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating for anything we may have needed, in addition to help with recommendations it was also conveniently located right next to a bus stop and train station, which made commuting around London extremely easy while allowing us to stay in a relatively local/non-touristy area!
Beatrice at the desk and her colleagues were fabulous. As an old fashioned guy I wish the coffee bar accepted cash.
Ember Locke Kensington was a terrific place to stay
Clean and modern room . Kitchen is sufficiently equipped for light cooking and heating up. Nice quality toileteries There is a bus stop right in front of the apahotel , otherewise Earls Court underground tube station is only 8 minutes walk away along a highstreet which makes the walk feels shorter.
Overall a very positive experience. However, as an older person, I found the narrow, spiral staircase to enter the bedroom level a challenge. I was so afraid that I would fall- suitcases had to stay on the first level- carrying them up would have been a challenge to me and my 27 year old daughter. Perhaps a statement in the room descriptions would be helpful. As mentioned in other reviews, lighting was dark in some areas of the unit. Other than that- it was a nice stay.
The interior of this place was gorgeous! Hotel, room, exterior and common areas! Shame I only had one night there!
Elegant 70s Vibe
This is a cosy, elegant hotel at a great price in a perfect location
Really nice and cool vibe hotel in Kensington.
Our stay at the Ember Locke was wonderful! Big shout out to darling George who was so welcoming and helpful during our stay. The hotel is a little gem. Loved the interior design. I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Wonderful hotel! We loved our stay!!
Great option in London
Love the unique atmosphere and walkable location of the place. Comfortable stay!
We loved the Ember Locke and can’t speak highly enough about their helpful and caring staff, especially John at the front desk. Beautifully appointed hotel with a wonderful back garden.
Ember Locke was great, the vibe in the hotel lobby, cafe and restaurant/bar were great. Staff was friendly and very accommodating, we were able to check in over three hours early which was unexpected but very appreciated.

Ember Locke is clearly a student housing option, considering all the people studying in the lounge area. This wasn’t a problem. Our small unit had a serviceable kitchenette, comfortable bed and good bathroom. Location is convenient to buses & Tube. Close to Victoria and Albert museum, pubs and restaurants, safe area.
