Really friendly owner, lots of local information and overall a very good places to stay for a few nights

Staying there was convenient for day trips and staff were ever so helpful. Highly recommended.

Such a great place to stay

We’ve stayed in numerous hotels/motels in and around Margaret River over the last 15 years, and this motel is the friendliest we’ve ever experienced. Steve was great to deal with and chat to, and the accommodation was good. We’ll definitely be back.

Lovely spot right on th edge of th forest and a short walk to th Brew house, that has lovely outdoor area and the best fish n chips.

Great place to stay. Very clean and had everything we needed. The owner, Steve, was very helpful and gave us lots of tips of places to visit. Would definitely stay there again if we came back to WA.

Very nice spot in Margaret River. Trees behind and a short walk to the Brewhouse. Steve is very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. We’d recommend Marg’s Bakery down the road (short drive but a bit of a walk) for breakfast.

We love Margaret River and being able to walk into town for dining is fantastic, but the motel is far enough out of town to chill out in the native bush that surrounds the property. If you’re unsure of where to eat then ask the owner, he’s been in the area for sometime (Local) and has his finger on the pulse, but remember to book a table or you could be disappointed.

Great Manager close to town

Manager at motel was fantastic he gave us a load of local knowledge on where to go and hints on good restaurants. Would stay here again if in area

As it says in its name it on the edge of the forest. It is a peaceful place with a lot of greenery around. Very close to town. The owner Steve very friendly and caring person.

Very good location, walkable to town centre and next to rotary park, which is good for walks and for trail running. Steve is very friendly and easy going. Check in was a breeze, and the laundry was very well done and clean. Property is well maintained and I enjoyed my stay!

Very accommodating owner

On the Edge

Edge of the Forest is also Edge of Margaret River so I think we were looking for something a bit more woodsy. The location is a convienant 10 minute walk to town and a brewery is about 75 meters away. Steve, our hosts, was awesome and mixed business with personal requirements perfectly. It is nice to see someone own a business but still able to put a sign on the door saying "Morning Sports with the Kids, back around 11" - it says something about the person. The room was small but cosy and the bed was extremely comfortable. There are some renovations going on so a bit of banging but that will be completed soonish. The garden you see in the picture was very nice along with a grill we cooked gorgious steaks on. No welcome gift and for being in wine country that was kinda odd but no points deducted since that is a bonus vice a requirement. I guess I was disappointed in the lack of open space and living amongst the trees. I mean - lots of trees. The setup was similar to a motel, but it was nicer than that, hard to explain. Overall, I'd give Edge of the Forest a 7.8 as I am a tough grader overall.

Great little motel

Lovely hotel in Margaret River. Spacious and very clean. Good amenities and comfortable beds.

Modern decor with all amenities for a short stay. Set back amongst trees and next to cycle track. Short walk to Brewhouse.

Room 3 was very clean - looks freshly refurbished. A bit of noise from the main road and possums on/in roof (for 5 mins) but otherwise very good.

The motel is in such a great location, the rooms were clean and tidy. Steve was so helpful and kind, make our experience wonderful. Will definitely come back!

This is in a great location, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are well equipped, clean, tidy, larger than I thought and overall just really perfect. I highly recommend people to stay at this location.

We had a great stay. Clean, simple rooms - great location in the forest close to the trails with only a short walk to the main street. Would definitely stay again!

The secret is out.

Nestled on the edge of the forest as you come into Margaret River this small motel with only 6 rooms is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The rooms are spacious and housekeeping maintain a high standard of cleanliness. Steve the owner is very friendly and has a great knowledge of the area. There is a laneways down the back and a short one hundred metre walk to the Margaret River Brewing Company who have an alcoholic ginger beer to die for. A short drive down the Main Street gives you ample options for dining out. Pubs, Chinese and Thai food to mention a few.

No internet connection, otherwise o.k

Highly recommend this gorgeous little boutique motel. Our room spacious, well equipped for longer stays, great beds, wonderful shower quiet sleeping at night. Lush surroundings & fabulous host, Steve and best of all Clover ( pet dog ). Short 5min walk to all the Quaint little town of Margaret River has to offer.

This is a small complex in a quiet bush like setting. The owners make you feel very welcome, I was even escorted to my room and had the services and dining options explained. Although there are no dining options on-site there are many options just down the road. I certainly enjoyed the stay and would certainly book again if I needed to stay in the local area.

Great location - 5 minute walk into main Street of Margaret River. Motel room small but very comfortable. Microwave & basic kitchen utensils supplied which were very useful. Bed & pillows a little hard for us but still comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful. Fabulous gardens & little patio area for each room.Highly recommend for 1-2 people.

great weekend

very friendly welcome, i liked that there was housekeeping every day, very romantic setting outdoors,and great to have the BBQ so we could have dinner at the property. thank you we had an amazing time, will definitely be coming back

Friendly staff, cosy room. Couldn’t believe the tv even had Netflix & Chromecast! Wasn’t in the brochure but was a nice surprise. Perfect location. A very short walk to Margaret River Brewhouse and nice cafe’s. Loved it!

Nature lovers paradise

Our room was impeccable. Very clean and comfortable and and the setting was exactly as the name infused, on the edge of the forest. Absolutely beautiful. Do yourself a favour and stay here the next time you visit Margaret River

Beautiful Location

Beautiful setting on the way in to Margaret River. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was firm, just the way my wife and I like it. Alan the proprietor was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying there again soon.

Secluded Quality stay with good amenities

Everything was perfect and reflects the 9.6 rating on Hotels.com. its all as they say and better. Nice cosy place within Margaret river town and we found it easy to cook with the quality BBQ in the garden, and enjoy a meal alfresco in the well maintained secluded grounds.

Clean and good condition of weber, private balcony is good idea for family. Nice and friendly host.

Perfect Peaceful Oasis

Beautiful gardens perfectly clean spacious room did not have their breakfast basket but have nicrowave and toaster in room and citlery and crockery beautiful veranda. Perfect peaceful oasis. Only down side........ only here for 3 night will stay longer next time. Thank you Edge of the Forest.

We loved our short stay at this lovely place. The room was spotless. Bed and pillows great. We were happy to see plates, bowls, toaster, microwave & cutlery. We had breakfast on the little veranda over looking the beautiful gardens. The lovely town was just a short walk away. The owners were great too. The lady told lots of places to see and eat. Really enjoyed it here. I hope we come back again soon. Thank you.

Perfect for our needs! 6 adults in the house with room for others in our group to join us for either pre dinner drinks and coffees at the beginning or end of the day to sort out the day's itinerary. Only wish it could have been for longer! Perfect central location for exploring the Capes and showing eastern states visitors the beauty of my old childhood era. Sooo much more we ran out of time to check out!

It made a very pleasant stay and we would recommend to friends and family.will be visiting again in the future.

A real pleasure to stay in. All the facilities were excellent, the room itself was delightful; it felt and looked like the owners had pride in their rooms, and just lovely little touches that made it special. The location close to the microbrewery and to Margaret River itself was perfect.

Great place. Room was clean and service was good!! About 3 min drive from the Margaret River, so you will get to enjoy some peaceful time as well.

This property is right in the main toad coming in to Margaret River and could be noisy with a front room (we had 6 which was in the back). Staff are great promoters of the area things to see and do, places to eat. Lovely grounds. Room was comfortable, nice bed and all amenities that we needed.

Comfortable Affable hosts Excellent value for money. Leafy location Out of the main strip of down-town but still an easy walk to everything. Initially thought traffic noise might have been intrusive given the Bussel Hwy address but with window closed, no problem.

Stayed here with my mother and we loved it. First time to Margaret River and we were delighted at this beautiful spot. The rooms are clean and spacious with what seemed like a newly refurbished bathroom. Enjoyed a morning coffee out on the porch discussing weather to stay another night... Compliments to Denise who was very welcoming and gave us a wonderful overview about the best places to see in the area that suited our short visit. We will definately be staying here next time and letting family and friends know of this hidden gem. Thank you for your hospitality.
