Nice hotel, convenient parking, electric car charging, accommodating of special requests, really nice, comfortable bedding, the pillows are especially great. The trains in the middle of the night always wake me up. I wish they could do something to soundproof betrer. Nice amenities, close to theaters and some good restaurants. A bit too pricey for CR in my opinion.
Na
Attached to the concert venue, only reason we stayed. The elevator was really crowded after the concert so we decided to take the stairs and when we got to our floor, the door was locked. In fact, we found out all the doors were locked, except for the entrance at the bottom. Not safe. Had issues with the temperature. The room was set at 72 and that is way too hot. Took it all night to get down to 65 and I am not used to sleeping in a room that warm..
Hd a wonderful time at this hotel.
Pretty
Loved the hotel and location. So pretty!! The bed was less tha ideal, not very soft.
Shuttle service was exceptional
No toilet paper in bath room, in shower didn’t have a bar of soap or a pump full of body wash. Plug in next to the bed did not work. I only had two towels. There is more
Room service process needs to be better Getting the food to someone, timely and not forgetting about it
Great staff!
Amazing and staff was amazing
AMAZING HOTEL!!!!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING HOTEL!!!!! Was So Happy with my stay!! The hotel employees were extremely kind and helpful and the hotel was beautiful, clean and very comfortable!! Thank You So Much, will Absolutely be staying again!!!
Very good staff people
Amazing place to stay if your attending a show at the alliant center. You can get a better location!
We enjoyed a concert at the Allient center and walked there in 1 minute. Easy to park across the street with a Skywalk connection.
Great place!
Very clean and nice
The hotel staff accommodated my checking in at 12:30 when you usually have to wait until 3pm.
Parking was across the street at the public garage and cost $ 12. You had to take a series if elevators and cross a sky bridge anytime we needed to get to our vehicle. It felt unsafe in the garage. Not worth the $
Not sure Expedia wants to continue business with this particular hotel. We booked and paid for a room w/king size bed back in august. Its October now so it was pretty upsetting to check in and to arrive to our room that was 2 double beds in a handicap made room. When we addressed our issue the front desk said we sold out and there isnt anything they can do and they always tell people not to book with a 3rd party as the 3rd party sells rooms they dont have available. News to us as we use this "3rd party" often in big cities during huge events and have never had this issue. The issue is within this one hotel that either overbooks for greed or is too incompetent to handle reservations or too inconsiderate to have an open and honest communication with their customers! They had plenty of notice to explain that they don't want Expedia referrals as customers at this location. We most definitely will never book with Double tree and honestly have a bad taste with hilton hotels after this! I do recommend Expedia to advertise this hotel as a last resort!
Hotel was clean and smelled fresh and had a beautiful lobby. The room was clean but smelled horrible due to cigarette smoke. It was unbearable stench like old cigarettes. You smelled it the second you walked into the room and it physically made us gag. It was a terrible experience trying to sleep.
Parking in the ramp by the arena leaves a bit of a walk to the hotel through couple of elevators and stairs/doors. Could give us a direction for parking across the street rather than by the arena
Great stay! Nice property and within walking distances to bars and restaurants.
Didn't know the train operated through the middle of downtown. Came through twice during the night. Will not stay there again.
Double Tree Cedar Rapids, IA
Great hotel in a great area. Friendly staff and very clean.
Nice hotel within walking distance to theater.
Check in was friendly and fast. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. The only complaint I have was the hotel is situated near train tracks.
Pay attention where you park
Got a parking ticket, i was told to park across the street by staff when i checked in
It is very nice and close to the arena so I didn't have to walk very much
Short visit but we come again
No Power
I checked in at 8:30pm, the power went out at 10pm. I was told it was a system check but power was not restored until 3am. I couldn't complete my presentation or get any work done.
Love this place!
Nicest hotel in Cedar Rapids. Great location. Love being close to downtown restaurants and night life. Easy parking and access from the interstate.
The water in the shower was scalding. If there had been a child with us they could easily have been burned. We called about it and were told to leave it run to get cold water. It took at least 15 minutes to get water that was tolerable. We paid for the parking but still received a citation from the garage saying we would be fined for parking there. The staff said they would take care of it and we’re hoping they do.
I didnt like having to park and walk so far from the parking garage but otherwise my stay was great.
Manager Tiffany made our stay pleasant and also had fantastic service from all of the staff on the 16th floor restaurant and bar. Will be back
Hotel staff was very welcoming at check in, restaurant was great and overall the hotel itself was a great choice. My only note would be that housekeeping may have not done the best job cleaning my room as there was a used washcloth hanging from the shower curtain. To be fair, they may have missed it because the curtain was open so I left the curtain closed before leaving so hopefully they noticed. Breakfast and dinner my first day were great! The next day however, I am not sure if the waitress was new or had more tables than she could handle because the simple oatmeal I ordered because I didn’t have much time took way too long and she forget to bring the brown sugar that came with it which took me long to even get her attention to ask for it. Needless to say I ended up running late but let just say perhaps it was an off day since I had a very different experience the day before. Still great place to stay overall.
Had worse.
Interesting part of town.
Great location for eateries, theater, concerts, farmers market-youre in the middle of it all. Parking was a bit of a suprise at $12 per day and the walk from the parking garage to the rooms was a long one! The hotel is very clean.
This property was easy to get to and the perfect location for the wedding we attended.
Rapid stay in Cedar Rapids
Only slight disappointment was the parking across the street. I paid $12/day yet the event parking was $10. Not a big deal, others I know were billed nothing.
Beautiful location.
Nice hotel with nice lounge
Loved it
The train horn was a bit bothersome, but I brought my white noise machine so it wasn’t awful. Rooms are spacious, clean, bathroom was slightly outdated. The staff is friendly and prompt.
Everything is great just parking is a hassle
Stay away crazy chick at front desk!
Well let’s start from end to beginning, I was woke up on my vacation at 6am with the room alarm clock, super stupid or just a rude action from the housekeeping staff! Clearly either way not a mistake! We left early because I can’t get back to sleep after that because the beds are not great either, even though there are signs all over the hotel stating quiet time, so that’s a crap rule they don’t follow! Check in was a complete joke, I understand service was down but the dark haired girl working from 2:15-3:15 was a real piece of work! She was a total disgrace to the hotel she actually screamed bloody murder at a 2 year old in front of about 20 guest! How embarrassing for your hotel to actually employ her! My daughter graduated from kirkwood hospitality and she was floored when I told her about this. We will never pay for a room at this hotel again after this experience and will pass our review to everyone we know!
Was charged twice
Good hotel for a single night, convenient location, friendly and helpful staff.
Close where we need to be
It was a little difficult to get from the highway to the hotel, not the hotel's fault. Parking was right across the street with a covered walk, so it was convenient.
Great location
Friendly and helpful staff at the DoubleTree
In town for business. Stayed here for weekend. The hotel is next to the convention center so navigating to and from the parking garage takes some effort and the key access didn't always work on the elevator. That being said, the staff more than made up for these inconveniences. 5 stars to the hotel staff.
Easy
Wonderful staff!
The property was nice and clean. The staff friendly and helpful. However, for the price of the room: there wasn't free parking, and there wasn't free breakfast. The breakfast part was particularly frustrating as for what they offered(buffet)-and the price.
Rooms were fitted with queen headboards but only had lumpy full sized beds. Pillows were flat and terrible. Could hear and feel every time the elevator went up or down. 2 star quality hotel for $400. Very disappointed.
Convenient location.
Best place to stay in downtown Cedar Rapids. Parking across the street. Attached to conveocenter and walkable to theatres and good dining.
Secured parking area. Easy access to Hotel from parking garage. Helpful staff!
Highly recommended
Super stay. Hotel was great. We stayed because of convenience of the hotel bring attached to the Event center. Great experience all around
An Okay Stay!
The location and the restaurant upstairs with both great. The staff seemed very stressed every time we interacted with them and while I try not to be too picky, the room wasn't very clean. There was a lot of dust on things like the nightstand, some residue on the small appliances, and it didn't seem like the bathroom had been fully cleaned. But the property overall is nice and the gym/airport shuttle were great!
Nice stay
Very nice hotel, nice restaurant/bar, great downtown location. Highly recommend.
Great location downtown, but a railway track runs by the hotel. Recommend ear plugs as the trains are loud at the middle of the night and the heater in the room is loud as well Rooms need upgrading
Love the warm cookies!
Cedar Rapids
Front desk and restaurant employees exceptional!
The bed wasn’t the greatest but I still slept.
Lady at check in desk was very helpful and welcoming.
The hotel had a musty smell to it, the pool was very small. The elevators took a very long time to go up and down, for the amount of money we paid for the room, was a little disappointed.
Our initial welcome was rushed as the staff was very busy and seemed stressed. Later in the evening, the staff went above and beyond.
Very helpful and kind staff! Everything was nice and clean! Loved the short walk over to the Alliant Powerhouse!
Great stay. Thank you.
Beautiful, clean and restaurant/bar onsite!!
Good start for the new year. Just had to call a few times for towels.
I will stay there again.
Too much walking to get around hotel
Great place to stay when attending a concert within their faciity! No coats needed! Parking across the street with in/out privileges. Very clean, beautiful restaurant overlooking Cedar Rapids. Most enjoyable stay.
False representation of room but paid jthe price
After calling to get the $50.00+ cheaper rate they wouldn't give it to me becausevit didnt say the exact words of roll in shower. After getting there my room was a handicapped accessed room but i did NOT have a roll in shower thatvi payed all this extre money for
Great staff and close to everything.
We attended a concert at the Paramount Theatre. The hotel is close to the venue and places to eat. A thumbs up. 👍
Comfortable
Mandi was so helpful during the check in process and the room was very spacious/clean.
I first walked up to the check in desk. The woman barely looked up...barley whispered you need to get in the other line turned around and walked away. No smile...no hello...no have a great stay... ridiculously unimpressive first impression.
Great stay, except for the train
The staff was super friendly! The hotel was very clean, modern, and comfortable and we were within walking distance of everything we needed. The only bad thing about this hotel was the train that went right by it and blared it’s horn in the middle of the night and early morning. If you don’t mind potentially getting woken up throughout the night, this is a great hotel.
Excellent restaurant and very comfortable access to all-things "Cedar Rapids".
Wow
Was amazing so many nice staff helped when needed cant say enough about how nice this place was and is will be coming back for sure
Downtown Cedar Rapids
the room was clean and service people great. it was close to Paramount Theater for the show I was attending. Downside broken toillet seat, sagging tub in the shower and loud train noise all night . needs some updating but overall nice hotel for what is, Had a really great stay. its the only hotel downtown .. location made it worth the trip and the good cookies they give you when you check in. The view out the window was nice could see the trees and river. I would stay there again
Scott with Hilton Rewards/Cookies
Hilton Rewards was exceptional to check in with us and let me know if Ivreally wanted, I could get more cookies.
shower did not have any hot water
Clean hotel, great location
This is it
Really good place. Where to stay if you are in Cedar Rapids
Great place! Questionable area.
Clean!
No hoy tub. Pool only. Noisy.
Overall the stay was fine, but it is an older property that wasn’t completely kept up. The bathroom door didn’t fully close and the paint was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. Finally, I felt taken advantage of as we paid through the hotel to park for the night (Sunday), $12, but it was cheaper to pay directly at the ramp. We’re not talking much money, but it felt wrong. If absolutely necessary, I would stay again, but not without looking for other options first.
Staff went above and beyond with their hospitality and service!
Perfect accommodations
From the moment we stepped into the lobby to the moment we stepped out of the lobby, everything was perfect. Great staff. Comfortable beds with plenty of blankets. Room was spacious. Pool was clean. Location is close to plenty of restaurants, etc. I would stay here again and recommend to my friends!
Staff was awesome … great view from my room on the 8th and the restaurant on the 16th.. but I didn’t get a chance to eat there.
Loud neighborhood
This hotel is located right over a train track with very loud noises. It is difficult to sleep. It was also a very disappointing check-in with a long time wait and very confused people us in.
The pillows and bed.
Booked for a local concert! The hotel was great!
