Well located & very comfortable, stylish hotel

We were very happy with our choice of hotel, both in terms of proximity to the city centre’s attractions as well as the Playa las Canteras, and for its standard of accommodation & service. Our room was spacious with an excellent shower, plenty of wardrobe space & a large, comfortable bed. All the staff were friendly & professional; we particularly loved the 12th floor rooftop bar- wonderful panoramic views & two attractive areas to sit.

Property is very nice and clean. Room is a decent size. The location is superb. It's a 5-10 min walk to beach and also a 5 min walk to a main bus station which is the start of the line for many buses which serve different parts of the island. Plenty of great restaurants in close proximity to the hotel too!

Rooms good size, top floor terrace was super relaxing place to sit and read with a bar , pool was really just a large jacuzzi- very poorly portrays on web site , great location, tv services poor shower excellent

Great hotel and great location

Great hotel, coulnt find a fault, our room was clean everyday, fresh towels daily, breakfast nice with lots lf options, staff so polite and helpful. Definitely going back! Oh! and the location, it could be better, walking distance to the Mercado del Puerto, plaza de Santa Catalina, bus station, and playa de la cantera, plenty of good restaurants around. Great location!! 5 out of 5 for this hotel!!!

Wonderful stay!

My husband and I and a great stay at the Design Plus Bex Hotel. Very comfortable room and lovely bathroom and we enjoyed the breakfast in the old Vault. Will definitely stay there again.

After staying at the Design Bex a few times we found the room this time slightly disappointing having issues with the locking of the safe, no English tv channels, air conditioning not working (although the fault was quickly rectified by maintenance). We also had a constant hum in the room which disturbed our sleep.

We had a good stay, close to the park, reasonable close to the beach, lots of things around this area. Nothing to complain about.

Great hotel and location

Beautiful hotel and location with a gorgeous rooftop bar. Unfortunately only four stars due to the noise between floors - every time a neighbouring room turned on their shower or flushed the loo, it could be heard. Also, the pool is only big enough for three people and definitely not for swimming, just bathing. Despite this, the hotel is lovely and great value for money (we stayed in February) - I would definitely recommend.

Stylish, good location but sort the terrace out

Very nice stylish hotel, excellent location for bus station and port, and only a short walk to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. The roof terrace is split into two, one side with sun loungers, open all day. The other side with tables, chairs and views of the city has restricted opening, open only when the bar is open, after 3pm. The terrace ( as there are no rooms with balconies)would vibe a lovely place just to sit, read perhaps with a small coffee machine, especially in the morning before venturing out. A total waste of space in my view. We also had a problem with the shower , I think the seals had gone, reported, no action, floor wet through after showers, the maids even left extra towels for mopping up. All in all I would recommend, given the location, and the size of room

Great location for getting on a cruise ship or getting to the beach

Always use this hotel when in Las Palmas and have never found any problems however the room I got put in had the following "wonderful" view!!! It's rate was not reduced.

Excellent location for the beach, restaurants and bus links. Staff are friendly and efficient. Rooms are very clean and well furnished but unfortunately ours did not have any sort of view and the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. Breakfasts are well stocked with a variety of options and plentiful. The roof top bar gives great views over the city and is very popular on weekend evenings. The roof top swimming pool is quite small but there is room for sunbathing.

Well located hotel

Enjoyed our stay in this centrally located hotel.

When we arrived our room was ready 2 hours early, we thought great … until we saw it, the toilet and shower was in the bedroom and when you opened the curtain it was a brick wall, the staff were amazing and we upgraded the room the next day for 20 euros a day, the rooftop “pool” is not a pool it’s a big fish tank … and there is only room for 6 loungers so only managed to get up there once, but the beach is not far … all in all it was fine in the end we made the most of it …. Before booking this hotel a large percentage of the rooms have a brick wall for a view 🙈

Good for a short term stay on Gran Canaria. Great accessibility to transport for both the city of Las Palmas and the entire island. Close to mall with shopping and large grocery store.

Like: staff, cleanliness, easy to get transportation, easy access to all amenities in Las Palmas, super quiet, you sleep like a baby. Don’t like: nothing. Super recommended for families or couple trip

Not bad, but very hot cramped rooms

Hotel is well located, staff are fairly friendly but sometimes give off the impression basic requests are an imposition. Not really 4 star service. Rooms are small, but well appointed. Beds are comfortable. Main issue is aircon is so weak it does nothing to cool a room so often oven like. Most rooms are internal windows so no breeze. We were moved to an external room which is the only one I would countenance booking. Sky bar has wonderful views and is a must. Despite the extremely hot small rooms the price was very good.

Won’t visit again

No light in toilet. Broken shower room door. No heating. Twice power cuts and emergency alarms in the night around 10-11pm for two nights. Unfriendly receptionists. Unfriendly room design for children due to too high basin to wash hands and glass shower booth

Beautiful rooms and superb design bathroom

Location was perfect for our 4 day stay. Near to the bus station, near to Las Canteras beach 6/7 walk and central to many bars anf restaurants.

Lovely hotel however lacks on finishings.

Hotel was very nice however our original room backed into the elevator shaft and was very noisy 24/7. We asked to be moved and the request was granted. Our new room was away from the elevator however there was very little soundproofing from outside noise of screaming and shouting all through the night from drunken pedestrians. The plumbing in the hotel was very noisy I.e. water rushing when floors above flushed toilets or ran showers.

Absolutely recommend!

Overall very nice and clean hotel with wonderful staff. Rooftop terrace is a nice extra. Beds aren't the softest but I managed to sleep well which in my case is a rare bonus. Shower has nice waterpressure and the toilets work. The room we stayed in, had a ghost, which to some might be a scare, but it seemed to be a nice one, it kept moving can of soda on the bedside table so nothing too scary :) and yes this happened few times in front of our eyes and nothing else on the table moved so...anyways, hotel has nice location close to the beach, best restaurants (lupe is a must) and the port. Buildings history is nicely valued around the place.

Our stay at the Bex Hotel couldn’t be faulted, rooms were clean, all staff were patient and kind. We’d highly recommend visiting the rooftop bar during your stay, the staff working we’re exceptional and made our stay at the hotel even better. Definitely recommend this hotel, and would love to return at a future date.

Bad service and information

1. We got a rum was next to elevator. Despite me expressing conversation about noice level I was insupes it Will be very quite. And it was not possible to sleep late at night and early in the morning. 2. We asked to book a taxi to Airport. Hotel provided ”black” taxi service which charged 8€ more than taxi in the street. Hotel is good But the service is not acceptable, especially for 4 stars hotel.

The staff is attentive. The hotel is quite modern and nice.

Rude receptionist.

The receptionisrmt that checked us in was rude and angry. Everytime i was to ask her anything, she would get more angry. Housejeeping did a good job. Uncomfortable beds. Rooftop bar always closed. Pool was ice cold.Breakfast was excellent

Designer hotel in the city centre

This is a recently renovated hotel with a lot of cool design ideas. Anytime I interacted with the staff I found them friendly and helpful. Coffee in the room, a good shower and a comfy bed are my main requirements and this hotel ticked all these three boxes. It is located about a 30 minute walk from the beach area. It’s just a short walk to the city bus station with direct buses to the airport. Good views from the rooftop courtyard but the pool is more for decoration that use.

The bathroom had a glass wall with just a small section that was opaque. Thus, you could see some one in the shower. Also, there was a mirror positioned such that if someone was in bed, they could see a person in the shower or on the toilet. It made the room have zero privacy.

Nice Hotel on a Busy Road

Really nice city hotel the rooms are clean and very comfortable the beds were very comfortable and the decor is quirky and fresh. The staff on reception are professional and helpful. Location wise you are by the harbour probably a10 minute walk from the beach area The only negatives I could find were the entrance to the hotel is on a very busy road do drop off by taxi is a bit awkward I had to cross a busy road with my bags as the taxi could not drop off outside Also it would have been nice to have some conditioner in the bathroom instead of just the standard pump body wash /shampoo there was no blind in the bathroom and although not directly overlooked it felt a bit uncomfortable being on the look overlooked by a cruise ship

Interior is very nice in the whole hotel. Pool area has nice sun beds and you get pool towels frol the reception.

Family holiday in Las Palmas

The hotel is fresh; our room was spacious and fit well our family of 3. We loved the warm (29 degrees) and shallow swimming pool where our daughter played a lot.

Very enjoyable stay in a great location

The staff were very welcoming and we asked for a quite room which was very nice. We had dinner on the roof terrace which also was very enjoyable with great views of the marina and sea. Will definitely return. Louis

Great location in Las Palmas. Friendly efficient staff. Comfortable rooms with great showers. On the minus side, basement dining room only used for breakfast and too cold in January to dine on the rooftop terrace. Hanging rail in the wardrobe too high especially as the hangers are metal and secured to the rail

It is in a good location where there are very few if none new or refurbished hotels. The property a former bank is in good condition and has creatively inserted bank elements to its present decoration. In terms of attention to detail the hotel staff lacks training, ie.the bathroom with several long hairs still lying in the corners from previous guests, some small hairs visible over the cover of the bed-sheets (not inside), the water boiler despite being fairly new but given its very poor quality was rusty inside and its replacement just about the same, the response times from check in as well as requests over the phone quite slow but staff overall friendly. Value for money was ok but 4 stars may be a bit overrated.

Its in a great location near the port and bus station and beach, staff were friendly and helpful (special mention to reception staff here) , comfy bed, air con, loved the roof terrace) good value, etc. My only criticism is the food wasn't great, I'd eat elsewhere.

Everything was lovely and perfect. Only advise for future is to inform customer of the minibar charges while check in :)

A beautiful experience

Really it was an amazing experience, the staff so so friendly and helpful, the top terrace is beautiful, the swimming pool eh, but it does the job. The breakfast was really nice two different coffee machines. The staff from receptionists, housekeeping, waiters are tip-top, continue the great work. If you take the bus from the airport, is the most affective way, and the cheapest, and from the station to the hotel and vice versa is like 4 min walk , not far from the beach and lost of eateries.

Receptionist Lied

This hotel was very good in all other areas except transparency, we called to see if our 17 year old son could stay on his own and they said that it was no problem at all but when he got there they said he wasn’t old enough, it was resolved eventually but I have to say it’s not acceptable to lie to your customers

I just stayed at the Design Plus Bex Hotel and can honestly say it’s one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Clean, spacious, stylish and in a great location. I know there were probably lots of people in the background ensuring my stay was amazing but in particular would like to mention Myriam and Eneritz who always went above and beyond to look after me during my stay...Thanks again for making my first visit to Las Palmas so memorable.

Had a unique character as once was an old bank so still had some of a banks features.

Good lication. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very small climatized plunge pool. Adequate breakfast buffet and several a la carte items from a menu could also be ordered. The best were the eggs benedict. Did not like the tv. Not easy to operate. Walking distance to many local restaurants and tapas bars.

Beautiful but not totally practical.

The hotel was very new, superbly clean and the staff excellent. My one grumble, and one I have with other hotels too, is why the deconstructed bathrooms as a sign of poshness. The basin in the bedroom is ok, the shower with glass on both sides next to the bed was workable so long as housekeeping don’t arrive while you’re in it as the clear glass is between the bedroom door and the bed (the shower itself was amazing) but the toilet with just a 3/4 cubicle around it in the bedroom is just not ok for me. I don’t need all the fancy glitz to enjoy a holiday but it does appear after this trip I need to prioritise a fully functional bathroom door.

4 night stay

Really nice hotel, but a little way of the beach and walking streets. The area is full of action with casino and people, close to a police station. The room was on the 3rd floor and sometimes I could hear water coming down from other floors. Showers, WC etc. I little bit disturbing.

Good choice for tourist area

The Hotel is well located outside the worst tourist area, but still close to services and beach. The Hotel was clean and modern and the staff was friendly. Breakfast was average. The room was nice but there was no window to look outside. That was the weakest point and we did not know that before. Also the toilet was impossible to visit during night time without interrupting others.

Good decor, poor service

Air conditioning didn’t work (29 degrees in the room), maid mistook my credit card for hers and removed it from the room, check in at 2pm not 12pm as was stated by Hotels.com.

Well located, stylish property with stunning views of Las Palmas. Staff were professional, breakfast was delicious and their rooftop patio is the best place to have a drink and watch the sunset over the mountains. The rooms are nicely appointed, bathrooms are too. Spent a week and were very pleased!

Enjoyable Stay

Really nicely decorated Hotel with very friendly helpful staff, good range of food available at breakfast, only criticism would be I found the bed a little too hard and the coat hangers are difficult to use because they do not come off the rail. Overall a really nice Hotel and would stay there again, really enjoyed the roof terrace sun lounge and bar.

Great Location close to the beach

The hotel is close to the beach and other amenities, with a very pleasant atmosphere created by the staff. The breakfast is varied, with lots of choices, and available until 11am which is great for the late risers. For us, the best thing about it is the staff who are very friendly; particlar mention fof the ever smiling Remo at Reception.

Wonderful hotel

Staff were all amazing and extremely helpful, Remo like all the reception staff, always looked up and smiled and welconed us as we walked through the door.Excellent location and easy walk to the beach. Rooms well equipped, very clean, comfortable bed. Only disappointment was the plunge pool. I had misread and thought it was a swimming pool. My fault.

Poor view on the ground rooms- view to a construction IDK if we would go back to this one Location is difficult to uber and cabs to drop passengers.

Satisfactory overall

Walking distance to the beaches and restaurants. Quite clean. Expensive parking in the adjacent parking lot. Street parking very difficult to find.

Fabulous decor, excellent polite and friendly staff, very enjoyable stay. Room was immaculate and very comfortable. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Very nice new modern hotel just 5 min within walking distance from Las Canteras beach in GC. Very convenient location and attentive staff. The decor of the room and bathroom were lovely, and the breakfast area was very nice and with a good selection of food.

Perfect hotel

OMG. This is one of the best hotel. Simply everything was perfect. Check-in smooth a quick. Room (510), very cozy, clean, stylish and big enough. Hotel is new and everything is working. On the rooftop is bar and area for sunbathing with small swimming-pool, great view, you can see both sides of the island. Breakfast very tasty and staff very friendly and helpful (and again area of the restaurant is very stylish). Hotel is very good located, near is shopping mall, a lot of small restaurants, playground for the kids and it’s aprox. 10 minutes from beach. I very recommend this hotel! And of course if we will go again to Las Palmas we book this hotel.

the hotel is chic, nicely decorated. it's evident they were rushed to wrap up works by a certain date, and the quality of finishes suffered in certain spots. the plunge pool on the roof is small, but sufficient for a quick dip. the lounge area is nice. prices at the hotel bars are excessive. the beds are comfy, but the 2-twin-bed setup is annoying. difficult to hang clothes, as the hangers aren't removable. as a new hotel, they have several issues to work out: 1) the wifi isn't reliable - of our 8-day stay, it only worked for 4 2) the tv isn't reliable - their systems are integrated, and when the wifi falters, you lose several channels 3) the front desk staff isn't knowledgeable/lacks professionalism- I realize they're not a concierge, but they should have a general idea of what's around in terms of restaurants/attractions, and be able to provide recommendations. when we arrived for check-in, there was 1 person at the desk, and she was speaking to a cleaning lady. instead of greeting us and checking us in (a 2 minute process), she looked at us and went back to her conversation, which lasted another 5 minutes - not a good welcome/first impression. 4) the room was clean when we first arrived, however the daily service was poor. the bed was made sloppily, shower and sink areas not touched at all (and with a shiny metal-look sink, it starts to look pretty gross after a couple days), and fresh towels were left hanging over the shower door (on days we swapped out).

Nice hotel in city center

Nicely located, short walking from most locations, clean and nice. Had a great view over the harbor. Roftop bar was good.

Siisti ja moderni hotelli, design mielyttävä vanhan pankin yksityiskohdille ja kultaisilla koristeilla. Wifi toimi huoneessa heikosti. Kattoterassi oli kiva, mutta allas hyvin pieni ja vain muutama aurinkotuoli.0

El apartamento la ubicación y el lugar perfectos. La entrega de llaves muy mala.

Nos encantó la limpieza y la calidad de los colchones. Mejoraría si tuvieran parking.

Hsdde sett frem til å avslutte kvelden på baren på taket, men det var desverre stengt pga privat selskap. Baren i foajeen var også stengt. Litt skuffende.

El personal muy cercano y profesional,piscina pequeña en la azotea para tres personas pero agradable y con vistas a la ciudad. Ruidos continuos en la calle pero lo normal por la ubicación. En general ha merecido la pena

La habitacion muy cómoda pero sin balcon ni terraza, cosa entendible al tratarse de un hotel de ciudad. La decoracion del hotel es muy bonita. El desayuno flojito en cuanto a la relacion calidad precio. El personal super amable siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Tiene parking concertado junto al lado del hotel. Buena limpieza y bien comunicado para moverte por el norte de la isla. Puedes llegar andando a la playa de las canteras y al centro.

Very good hotel overall, everything is nearby. The rooms are quite nice, but the cleaning depends on who cleans your room. We had bad experience with the cleaning about two times, but overall it was okay. Very loud in the hallways, but not much sound from the street luckily. Recommend this hotel.

Bof!

Petite chambre à la deco gênante, vue sur la douche et wc depuis la chambre (Sdb entièrement vitrée et non opaque ). Petit déjeuner quelconque, piscine sur la terrasse qui est en fait un simple aquarium ! Chacun fait sa loi, 2 jours le bar terrasse fumeur et le troisième jour non, c’est la serveuse qui décide! Passée la blague du petit déjeuner dans une ancienne salle des coffre, hôtel sans intérêt.

Wir waren nur für eine Nacht dort. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr unhöflich. Das Zimmer war okay, aber im Badezimmer war das Fenster nicht mit einer Folie oder sonstiges bedeckt sodass man ohne Probleme von draußen reinschauen konnte. Gegenüber waren Damen die Wäsche aufgehängt haben und reinschauen konnten… Die Dusche ist komplett ausgelaufen, sodass das komplette Zimmer unter Wasser stand.. Dadurch dass der Schlafbereich nur mit einer Milchglastüre zum Badezimmer getrennt war und im Badezimmer weder ein Rolladen oder sonstiges vorhanden war, war es morgens im Zimmer total hell. Also wenn man in dunklen schlafen möchte, würde ich es nicht empfehlen. Der Pool wie es auf den Bildern präsentiert wird, ist echt lächerlich. Ist eher ein Plantschbecken 0,75m.

Helt greit hotell.

Veldig fint og greit hotell. God frokost, bra rom men med en merkelig dusj løsning der alle på rommet kan se rett inn i dusjen. Greit for par men litt rart for en familie. Bassenget var et litt stort badekar, du får større basseng på lekebutikken. Veldig sentral beliggenhet og veldig god service fra de ansatte.
