Excellent location to be based at if doing a short Shanghai trip. It is linked directly to a small mall with retail and food. MRT station is just across the street. And the location is right at the west entrance of East Nanjing pedestrian street , so you get the convenience of all the shops and food that comes with it. The room we got was super impressive and by far this was the best quality room we got on our Shanghai trip. Voice activated curtains, lights and music (though you'd need to speak mandarin to make it work), also buttons available. Toilet and bath was very good and there was an electrical bidet! We got the west view with our high-floor room. Try to get the east view of Bund view if possible.

food is below average, not impressive.

I recently stayed at a hotel that was incredibly convenient and had just undergone a lovely renovation. The room layout was very nice, making it comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. However, I was disappointed with the staff's attitude. They were not friendly, and I found them to be unhelpful and unresponsive when I needed assistance. It's a shame because the hotel itself has so much potential with its great location and beautiful renovations.

Do complain

Great location … love the hotel because of that You have to complain to get a decent room … I have to do during every stay , then you get it right. That is lack of consistency for Hilton honors members !!!

Had a great time staying at Conrad during my trip in Shanghai! Front desk staff Cara who helped me with check-in was so friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. Cara also upgraded my parents room and my room from king deluxe to king executive room on a high floor with amazing view! Awesome staff with amazing service!! Also Conrad Shanghai for sure has the most convenient location! Its so easy to get around and it's close to all the popular tourist spots! Rooms were spacious and clean. Food at breakfast buffet was excellent with so many options from different cuisines. Would definitely book Conrad again next time I come to Shanghai!!

Dealing with Natalie and Vicky in the lounge on 44 has always been a great experience! These two ladies have been working here for many years and always greet me with a smile! Check-in and check out is simple! Look forward to coming back soon!

Good central location.

Not a 2022 hotel as advertised.

The rooms were horrendous. First room smelly of old ciggarates. Second room did not meet the size what I paid for. Third room wine stained all over the furniture. They eventually upgraded us to the club section but it was for a smaller size. Took it as the whole process left us 2.5hours poor! Staff could not even understand basic English. But kudos to David at the concierge for helping us to ship our excess baggage back home.

The location is very good. Near the subway and the shops of Nanjing road. To get there via subway use the People's Square stop and take exit 19, you will have to cross Jiujiang road and walk one block on Nanjing road, and then turn right, to find the road with the main entrance. Concierge and front desk staff were extremely helpful. The room views from the 50th floor were breathtaking. The the room was modern, updated and very clean.

Tatiana at the front desk was very helpful and polite made it super easy to check in. After a long flight, definitely a great way to settle down. Definitely recommend five stars all around!

AC problem

Hotel was in great condition, had a good stay, but called multiple times for ac not working well, technician came twice and would say it’s showing the temp is fine but it was always 28 + degrees and felt like it as well. Was offered a fan which just didn’t do justice

A fine hotel at the 100 percent corner of the Shanghai traditional shopping district

It would be the perfect stay if not for these issues, even though the rooms are non-smoking, we smell cigarette smell in the bathroom and the whole room. I suspected it was through the ventilation because when we off the toilet ventilation, the cigarette smell stop. The mini fridge is not cold and 1 of the towel is dirty and have stain on it .

This location is very convenient but it is kind of crowded . The taxi drivers alway miss it.

To begin with the positives, the location of this hotel is excellent, being a short walk from People’s Square Station and Nanjing Pedestrian Street. The layout and overall comfort of the room is adequate. However, the negatives of our experience far outweigh the positives. First, the front desk staff is a combination of poorly trained and inexperienced, struggling with most questions - especially in English. Responding to simple requests such as “may I have another room key” throws them for a loop. This is presumably why the check-in takes painfully long. Next, the room itself was in very poor condition. Between significant mould in the bathroom to worn out and unusable outlets/switches, a serious renovation was needed over a year ago. When I spoke to the front desk about this issue they showed me another room with identical issues, and then even another one which they were certain did not have the issue (it did). Finally, I booked what Expedia and the Hilton website refer to as a “High Floor” Deluxe Suite. We were then placed on the 34th floor, which I later learned was on the bottom third of the building. When I asked the front desk about it they simply shrugged it off as being the name of the room, and to sort of get over it. Overall, my experience at this hotel was very poor. While management did make efforts to accommodate my party, they all fell short. Given the amount of properties in this price range and similar location, I won’t be recommending it.

Overall experience is nice. Room is spacious with decent interior design. Fitness center and swimming pool is up to 5 star hotel standard. Great location. The only thing bothered us is slow check in.

Very good hotel in a very good place! The address on this listing wasn’t correct (at least not when I used my Apple Maps), so finding the hotel the first time was a bit of a challenge. As I was walking around Shanghai I was looking for directions on the listing but couldn’t find them. There’s multiple entrances for this hotel, too, which made it more challenging!

Shanghai Conrad

Clean hotel. We happened to be upgrade to a room with a fantastic view. I believe it was another hotel they have taken over. Rooms are clean and nice but seem a little dated if you looked closer. Service is great. Some staff speak English well however all had translator devices if needed. Elevators took a long time as you need to transfer from ground to Lobby and then to your floor. Same goes with gym and pool access. There is a lot of waiting unfortunately. I would stay again. Location is super close to a lot of great food options.

Best location, so accessible not just to the bund but basically to any other areas worth visiting in Shanghai. Everything was within a 5-stop radius by metro. Hotel was about 200m from a key metro station too. Room was so well sound-proofed and amenities were great. Only thing that could be better was the water pressure for the shower but nothing too terrible anyway. Wonderful stay and would highly recommend this!

This Hotel was focused on old men with young girls. It was clearly a place for prostitutes. The rooms were extremely dirty. They took 3 hours to find me a room that was somewhat clean. This hotel did not meet the standard in any way of what the Conrad brand promises. I have asked for a full refund which under review.

DIRTY AND AVOID THE FOOD

ON SUNDAY BROUGHT MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY FOR THEIR LEVEL 11 FOOD BUFFETT, GOT FOOD POISONING. INCLUDING MY 5 YEARS OLD.

The location is fantastic as there's a food hall about a 2 minute walk away, the metro is about a 5 minute walk and the whole street is full of shops. Also the view from room at night is amazing. However this is not a 5 star hotel. First of all, it was inconvenient having to take 2 lifts every time just to go up to my room. Secondly, the bathroom has almost see through glass doors and a random window which I'm not a fan of as I prefer to have full privacy in the bathroom and the toilet had a slight smell. Also, the bathroom has slidding doors which do not open smoothly and seem to get stuck often. Lastly, the bed I was sleeping on was not clean as I was waking up with hives but the lovely cleaning lady helped change it for me and had no further problems after that. For the price I paid I'm disappointed in the quality of the hotel and would not stay here again.

It's right in the center of Shanghai and you can go every tourist places easily.

This hotel in located Nan Jing walking street, it easy for shopping and dining. But the conditions of in and out of the hotel is not convenient and confusing because the hotel service is not in the first floor and mixed with merchants shop. As a 5 star hotel. it poorly constructed.

Good convenient hotel at hood location

One of the best hotels in East Asia, providing a luxurious experience, the only downside I would say is the elevators can be confusing because there are so many. All the amenities are beyond great comparing with other Hilton and Marriot hotels I stayed in East Asia.

Some refurbishing is needed. Things getting a little worn out. Nevertheless, wonderful stay overall. Price was fantastic.

Room temp was difficult to adjust, so had warm, stuff nites

The room temperature is set at 25 and very uncomfortable. They came and not able to fix it. Very unpleasant.

Excellent location, poor room design (i.e. the room is meant for guest to stay not just for fancy design). Its toilet downgrades conrad's standard as a premium hotel brand.

The location is very good. However, the room design is like a white elephant, i.e. beautiful but useless: small and inconvenient toilet and shower room, plus big and useless walking hallway. It has not reached the top tier standard of a conrad (probably because it was taken over from Le Meridien).

There was a very inconvenient situation with this hotel.The hotel was very nice besides this problem.The flight to Shanghai was delayed due to a storm and o called to inform them but doe to some miscommunication within the hotel the message was not passed and they had cancelled my booking.I had chatted with Expedia and the hotel assured a full refund back which o have not received as yet.

部屋はきれいで素敵な感じです。部屋にずっと滞在する分にはゆっくりできるホテルだと思います。外灘にも近いので旅行者にはよいホテルです。残念だったのはジムとスイミング・プール。カウンターの人はけっこうな冷たさで、かつ、あんまり導線もよくないし、きれいでもなかったです。そこにいかなければその他のスタッフは皆さん親切で素敵なホテルでした。

Some problems need attention

Going up and down th elevator from lobby to room was a problem. Only 2 of 4 elevators work. And there are so many people waiting to get in. Funny hotel did not think of operating the other 2 elevators Also people cram into elevators causing hazard of getting stuck and dangerous.

The Hotel is in a excellent location but the property is dirty, the service is terrible! The beds were dirty , the room ceiling and walls had stains, the toilet was not flushing and the maid service was awful. I will never stay in this hotel again! the quality of food is extremely low as well.

Hotel was overpriced, room was smelly, damp with humidity. The hotel and guest rooms are outdated. Needs a renovation, carpets in the hallway and guest room were dirty and a dirty brown sofa. Bed was sofa and under comfortable. Terrible guest room floor plan, shower next to the tub open area, then when you step out of the shower your in the living rm. There’s no privacy! This is only a 2 star hotel. Caught in Lekima typhoon we released our room to go to the airport and then, the City Centre Marriott sold out. We had stayed there for 6 days, definitely a 5 star hotel with all the luxury and amenities.

Great location, close to shopping and restaurants. City view room has spectacular view of Bund. Rooms are a bit dated, finishes are not as new/clean as expected. Beds were not comfortable for me.

Rooms need makeover

Nice place, excellent location. The lobby and other areas are newly renovated, but the rooms could really use some work too. The chair in my room showed some heavy use with the upholstery being really worn. If they are able to freshen up the rooms, I would give this a too rating.

Enjoyable stay with good location

Good location next to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street with lots of shopping and good food. Metro station nearby. Spacious Deluxe King room that was neat, clean and comfortable. Staff was generally pleasant and courteous. Enjoyable stay.

Great service and location

Good location - right on the nanjing road shopping street and the hotel floors just above a big shopping mall and restaurants, very convenient. The well known Bund waterfront area is is within walking distance. Great service - received great help with booking taxis, and Didi. One of our luggage was missing, didn’t arrive with the flight, the hotel staffs helped contact the airport and tracked the missing luggage which was finally delivered to the hotel same day at night. The hotel also offered help with our local delivery. We really appreciated all the help and great service!

I like the proximity of the hotel. Just behind it is the main tourist area (NanJing East Road) that you can walk all the way to The Bund. The hotel is rather old. You can see the age in the bathroom. For that price, I would expect a better facility.

Good Location and Cosy Room

The ozone machine is still placed in the room while I went into the room. Anyway, it is a good room with good scenery in a convenient location.

It is centrally located within shopping belr and near to subway station. Staff were ok but not excellent. They could had do better. Rooms kinda dated, but it's clean. Generally, it's good stay but not wow for a meridien brand.

under renovation

it did not mention that it was under major renovation when I booked. There are only 2 elevators servicing a large number of floors. it was simply overwhelmed.

Staff at front desk was difficult and mean, my reservation was wrong and they refused to correct it, ended up paying for an extra day that I was not there at all. My shower drain was clogged and the rain shower did not work, the room had a musty moldy smell.

Its a lovely property in great area. I was disappointed by the fact major renovations are underway was not communicated ahead of time. I like to use gym / sauna - sauna / spa was closed and gym was open but somewhat restricted - I would likely have stayed elsewhere had I known.
