A dreadful night.

The property is awful. Everything painted black with wierd artwork and a n equally wierd soundtrack playing in the corridor. The entrance area was dirty and felt quite threatening. The people next door had a party outside that went on until about 5am. There was noise from ghe courtyard and in the corridor. The bed was uncomfortable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Change Overnight in Launceston, Tasmania, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. The apartment was a massive, beautifully designed three-bedroom space right in the heart of the city. Everything was spotless, and the full-size kitchen and lounge room made it feel like a home away from home. Out of all the hotels I’ve stayed at around the world, the beds here were some of the best—unbelievably comfortable, and the pillows were even better! It’s rare to find accommodation that gets every detail right, but Change Overnight truly delivered on all fronts. What makes this place even more special is its philosophy. Booking a stay here supports meaningful causes, making your visit more than just a getaway—it’s an opportunity to contribute to something bigger. Outdated, weird, not as clean as we thought, not A/C in bedrooms, not a downstairs bathroom - would not stay there again.

Perfect apartment. Great for families and contained everything. Big and the balcony was great. Central and lots of options close by for dining and activities.

A very unique experience. When the lift door opened to the foyer, we are not sure if we came to the right place. It was dark, black walls with portraits of various people and scary. As soon as you open the door of your accommodation, it’s the opposite of what you have seen so far: Change. The accommodation is lovely, modern and has all the amenities you need. Not so good is the air cons in level 2. The aircon is located in the common area and has to be shared between two bed rooms and could not push much air into one of the bedrooms. However. Overall we had a good experience and will stay again when we go back and recommend it.

Apartment is well equipped. Missing small coffee cups for espresso coffee machine. Difficult parking access. Location and service very good. Overall, enjoyable stay.

What a fabulously unique stay. Room was fabulous - great patio - laundry facility in the room - very quiet - clean. Host was communicative as we had a small issue, which they responded immediately. Great location - able to easily walk to restaurants.

My family loved the whole vibe and concept of these self contained apartments. They were extremely spacious, clean and the beds were super comfortable. When we return to Tasmania we will be booking these apartments again. I also like knowing that by staying one night we have helped contributed to the change.

Quirky decor in places, spacious 2 storey accomoda

I actually love the ease of access and the room was very comfortable and had everything you could need. The private courtyard was a pleasant surprise. We had a great stay!

One night unplanned stay.

Toilet seat slightly loose in one bathroom and definitely had had paint work patched in second room. Otherwise beds very comfortable and was very quiet for Sunday night. Appreciated availability as emergency unplanned stay. Convenient location and only issue is car park is right but we were lucky as only a couple of other cars

The hotel is great, spacious rooms, well appointed and easy to get to and fairly central. We walked to dinner each night at different places. We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. the facilities were great, kitchen had everything you need. The only problem is the entrance, it was difficult to get in as it is up the side of the building on uneven ground, and at night it is difficult to see as everything is black and not well lit. We would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and clean apartment. Easy walking distance to shops and cafes. Good to know that funds are being donated to good causes from your stay. The haunted house vibe of the hallway was a bit weird (including background noise playing through speakers) but it was amusing. Those bothered by noise should bring noise cancelling headphones as there is a local clock that chimes every 15 minutes and on the hour overnight

Fantastic apartment and so close to the city. Parking is a little tight but great. I love the idea of giving to a charity. The choice of art is interesting but the radio that repeats in the hallway is too much.

Great central venue. Clean, tidy, spacious, well appointed & well priced. The dark entry hallway is a little disconcerting but once in your room the accommodation is light, bright & airy.

Terrible experience, no staff

Worst paid accomodation experience with extremely loud guests partying until 5am - would not recommend. With no staff or security available, made the situation even worse.

Dark (black) corridors and creepy sounds playing in the corridor. Nearly fell down the stairs because it was so dark.

Check in was confusing… received booking confirmation saying all booked etc only to arrive locked out and then reviewed fine print .. 72 hours notice ?? Didn’t receive any codes but response was quick and amazing x Bathroom shower had no drainage so deep puddles of water in bathroom. I’m saying this would highly recommend

A very cool place with lots of room and all the amenities we required. Even the washing liquid was helpful! Unfortunately I did not receive the original check in details, however I suspect that may have been more likely technology and telephone service, not a fault of the hotel.

Spacious and central

Ourvfamilybreallyvsnjoyed having a roomy airy apartment to stay in fur three nights. Central to restaurants and shopping so didn’t need to use car.

Love the concept! Toilet and bed upstairs!

The decor is very dark and a little spooky to be honest! But we do love the concept of helping the less fortunate! I was a little upset that the bedroom and toilet are up 15 stairs from the lounge room! Being disabled it wasn’t mentioned in the advertisement but I managed fairly well! The underground car park was very tight and difficult though not impossible!

Comfortable & practical stay

After a week touring NW Tasmania this was an obvious choice for a laundry stop.The only snag was the lack of washing machine instructions but plenty of liquid. The apartment was on two floors - bedroom & bathroom upstairs. The kitchen was fully equipped with a dining table and lounge with TV. An outdoor patio area with chairs. The parking space was ample with a lift to the rooms from the car park. Well let cated in downtown Launceston.

Hotel with Heart.

What a great place to stay, a hotel with heart. Great rooms and beautifully appointed, location ✅. Best of all you can pay a bit extra for mini bars or snacks and they will donate the extra to a charity of your choice. Part of your room fee helps feed people in need. Staying here helps them contribute to one of their 8 causes.

This is my second stay here, brilliantly central location and clean and tidy accomodation! If you would like to get any sleep, I would recommend not staying here on a weekend. Other guests had several visitors to their room who were constantly entering and exiting the building and playing music loudly. Each time a door was closed in the building, it would vibrate through my pillow. Many people would stand outside on the street talking loudly as the driveway to Change Overnight seemed to be the preferred spot for an Uber pick up! It may have just been bad luck on this Saturday night, but, due to the proximity to town, I believe this may be a common occurrence. Just a heads up for anyone not planning on partying during their weekend stay!

Been wanting to check out Change . The check in process was easy ! My check in codes didn’t come through email but after leaving a message with staff , staff quickly responded . I forget the girls name but she was lovely and very helpful. Secure parking at the hotel. Hotel was quiet and clean. Generous studio space with courtyard , which is nice! Especially travelling with a child it’s nice to have some outdoor space aswell. Would stay again.

Overall, this property was excellent. People planning to stay here, should be aware that at least some of the apartments are two-story units. This means living and dining downstairs, bedroom, and bathroom upstairs. If you have limited mobility, this could pose a challenge. Parking was tight but usable. I did not care for the decor (hallway was painted Matte black), but that is a matter of personal taste.

I needed o/n accom after spending the day in LGH emergency with my daughter. The manager I spoke to on the phone regarding the check in code was so kind and helpful, as I quietly panicked. Secure parking. Very comfortable and clean apartment. 10/10,happy to recommend to my visiting friends &family.

Plenty of space, great to unwind after several days on the road. Kitchen had everything and the lounge was comfortable. Only downside was we caught a heatwave in Launceston and the bedrooms dont have their own air conditioner. Very happy otherwise, thank you!

Cool apartment in a great location. We struggled a bit getting into the car park, the keypad is pretty scratched up and could do with an update. Washer/dryer was also incredibly slow. But otherwise we had a great stay.

Great place to stay. Washing and Drier combined is a dislike when travelling and you need to wash and dry clothes as the drier is very slow and poor

Unique check-in (no reception as such) and was a self-checkin and moderately “tech” heavy. Codes emailed and took time to get initially, but was quick once we figured it out. Car park height limited, but our 2.3m car fit with no problems, but was a narrow entry/exit. Apartment was clean and live-able, and our 2-bedroom apartment was spread over 2 levels with an outdoor area. Checkout was similar to checkin with no human interaction and went smoothly.

Great location. The bedrooms had plenty of room and even better that there was 2 bathrooms. Living area had ample room and a nice little courtyard.

Change Overnight was the perfect accommodation for our week In Launceston. Great communication with staff, who went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Close to great local cafes, restaurants, groceries, everything was only a short walk. Accommodation was very comfortable and modern. Bedrooms were generous and the beds were all super comfy. The lounge and kitchen opened up to a large open courtyard. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Will always stay at Change Overnight whenever I travel to Launceston.

Change Overnight was a lovely big apartment. It had all the amenities to do your own cooking. It was walking distance to shops and restaurants. It was an easy 15-20 minute walk to Cataract Gorge and Penny Royal. The only downside was limited onsite parking. We had to park next door in a 24 hour parking lot.

Great place to stay. Within walking distance to restaurants and shops. Beautiful apartment, spacious and clean. My only tiny issue was the touch screens as locks were sometimes a little difficult to use, great system however.

A really cool hotel with funky art vibes. Loved the open courtyard/balcony overlooking the cityscape. Beds were comfy. Apartment had all the basic amenities plus some. Lots of space and beautiful books for adults and kids. Washer/dryer combo was tricky, but an air rack came in handy. Lift was out of service during our two day stay which was a bummer with luggage, but doable. Central Location and an excellent concept for donating to charity.

Fantastic central location - once we realised that it was all automated self check in we loved our Change experience. Keyless entries secure parking $15 and walk to everywhere - large spacious very well appointed 2 bed 2 bath upstairs downstairs apartment with bonus balcony - only had one night but would be a perfect base to explore the area from and just loved all the quirky quotes

Beautifully Kept apartment which was modern and welcoming

I thought the property was great, once we found it. Instructions were clear but the property could of had a little better signage. They were good to liaise with, however we had to leave a day earlier as due to Covid lick downs, Virgin Australia changed our flight ...my communication with Expedia was uncertain about a refund for 1 night and I'm still waiting. .come on Expedia- where is your professionalism.

Weekend with friends

Happy to stay here again. Convenient location, nice bedding and towels. Fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Is starting to look a little tired with lots of scratches on the hallways and some on the kitchen bench. But still totally usable.

Really excellent property to stay at, it was stylish, clean, comfortable and convenient. Everything you could ever need for one night or for a longer stay. I especially like the donation given as part of the Tarif. Great idea.

We stayed at Change because of the causes, location and price. Parking was interesting because even though you are allocated a parking spot we were not able to park there due to others beating us to the spot, but that is a problem with other guests not Change. I wasn't a fan of the black corridor which leads you to the rooms. It makes you feel like your in a warehouse and not a pleasant one. We checked in early and of course the keycode didn't work, but that was our fault. When I phoned we were allowed in and Adele was extremely helpful and lovely. Rooms are big and bright, you couldn't fault the accommodation but the artwork was a little over the top...and I am a fan...but it did make it feel like uni accommodation. We would recommend a stay if your after something a little different to the normal hotel stay.

Great communications with clear instructions on how to get to and into this reception-free hotel. The studio was surprisingly spacious with a large courtyard and modern kitchen. The place was stylish, modern and sparkling clean. I would definitely recommend it for a stay in Launceston.

A different type of place in both concept and execution, but we liked it. Important tip, you must contact them 3 days ahead to confirm and get the location details, especially if you want parking inside the basement, per booking instructions. Would stay again, one block from the center of downtown, quiet, true blackout curtains.

The apartments are fabulous. Clean, tidy, modern with all you need...comfortable beds, great showers, air con, etc. The building is in a great location, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The only negative was that the stairwell and corridors had a weird fishy smell to them which was off-putting.
