The staff was wonderful . The property is perfectly positioned. The beach is directly in front of the hotel and everything we enjoyed from dining to shopping was within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it. Will definitely stay there again if we're in Tamarindo again.

Do not stay here not worth it in 84 degrees with no AC , bugs in room, and no space to even turn around in your room. If you do stay get the most expensive room.

Beach front (just cross the street), no frills, easy place. Aida is the best.

Great budget property,close to everything in main strip of Tamarindo. Biggest negative is water pressure and luke warm water.

Nice place to stay, clean, however rooster wakes you up at 4 am and does not let you go back to sleep.

Different from others places in a good way

Tamarindo is very expensive, but this hotel is reasonably priced by any standard, and it is just meters from the beach. It is not luxurious; rather, it is modest but comfortable, safe, and the location is excellent.

This is a great place with a super cool vibe Right across the street is the local surf break Store is next door and great food close by

Will stay again

I stay here when I'm in Tamarindo. Hotel is directly across the street from the beach in the center of Tamarindo. You can walk everywhere so a car is not needed but they have a private parking lot if you have a car.

Great location and quiet

We didn’t have an ac room and it was hot! 34C during the day. But two fans made it bearable. Staff was super friendly. Room was adequate. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Communal kitchen was great. And hotel was right across the street from beach!

Excellent value for the money. Staff was friendly and went out of their way to keep things clean and tidy, which can be tricky with the beach located right across the road ! Good kitchen, drying racks and check-in. Thank you for a wonderfull stay !

Nice place! Literally right across the road from the beach. Nice staff; clean grounds with nice plantings; room neat, clean & good a/c. Liked the little local Tico food restaurant just few doors down .

Cute little affordable place to rest your head.

Unfortunately our booking was incorrect when we checked in. We were to have a room for Friday and we didn’t get in until Saturday. We were lucky enough to have our car to sleep in. The location was amazing. The room was spacious and cleaned every day. We would recommend.

I did not like the fact that you could not have visitors. The property needs a lot of maintenance. At least buy some new towels the ones that were furnished were hard from washing

Very convenient--walk across the street to beach! Many shops and restaurants nearby (walking distance); easy check in/out/parking; community kitchen with large fridge and gas burners, microwave, etc. Very quiet and secure.

This is a perfect little wonderland. The garden is so cute, you will want to sneak some time in your itinerary just for relaxing among the pretty pink blooms. We opted for AC and hot water, and both worked perfectly. We also called ahead to confirm that we could enjoy a room with a double bed... and we could actually see the beach from our doorway in rm 1! The room was cleaned daily and not too small. The owner is sweet and has done a wonderful job with the cabanaa - best deal in town :).

Great Surf Hotel

A solid location with very friendly staff. A no-frill hotel, just be prepared to wake-up early, as there are pretty vocal roosters on site

This hotel is wonderful . The owner is so kind and inviting. The grounds are beautiful . Located in the heart of tamarindo. Directly across the street from the beach. Steps away from shopping and dinning. Very quiet and clean. Love this hotel.❤️❤️❤️

The location was perfect and it is hard to beat the rate but the mattress in my room was not very comfortable. I upgraded to the AC and hot water room so I kind of expect a better mattress as well. It was clean and as advertised and I was overall happy.

Good price, great location!

Fairly basic room, but at a good price and a great location. A very pleasing stay. Maybe a desk and a bigger tv in the room and all would have been perfect. Overall, I recommend this property!

Super close to the beach but set back off the street just far enough that it's not too noisy (other than the roosters!).

Pros. The owner, Marie was exceptional ,a lovely person. Location, across street from beautiful beach, walking distance to restaurants and shopping, a very nice town. Communal kitchen on property, good wifi. Howler monkeys and chickens . A very nice experience. Go there for sure! Cons. None really , was what was expected. Wanted a tico experience and got it.

Staff was super friendly, the place was really secure, even if you arrived after 3AM there was always a security guard checking that wverything was ok. Place super clean. Just missing more trash cans to recycle glass, and aluminum but for the rest was perfectly fine

No air conditioning, just a fan. No hot water, never took a shower. No tv, don’t care, never watch. Has bus schedules but staff doesn’t know correct time or place of departures or is any help at all with transportation issues. Big problem. The town is very expensive. The place is clean and pretty. The owner is a great conversationalist, attests to sponsoring children’s educations. The staff are friendly, keep the place clean and cared for. Sorry I couldn’t write a better review, the transportation away could be real fun if you enjoy waiting in the sun watching traffic a couple hours.

The location was great, very safe and you can walk either to the beach or to the night life without any problem. Sometimes the internet doesn’t work in all areas.

Very friendly staff, cute, quiet, private area with lots of monkeys on the grounds. Was nice to be able to cook your own meals. Will be back again!

The place was nice for the price. I wish we had hot water. There was no hot water in our room at all. Also when they cleaned the room they never changed the sheets.

Solid budget option footsteps from beach

This was a great budget option across the street from the beach and easy walk to shops and restaurants. The staff was pleasant. I stayed in a basic fan unit in January which was fine. Next time would spend a little extra for an AC room near the garden, but value for the money it was great.

No well preserved hotel but with kind staff.

C’est un endroit fantastique pour passer du temps à Tamarindo. Il y a différentes options pour les chambres si vous êtes seul ou plusieurs. Elles sont tous accompagnées d’un balcon ou d’une petite terrasse, plusieurs ont même un hamac pour se détendre. La cuisine commune a tout ce qu’il vous faut pour préparer un bon repas. Le jardins commun offre une belle opportunité de rencontrer les autres résidents de l’hôtel. Les cabinas sont situés à seulement quelques minutes de marche du centre de la ville et la plage se situe juste de l’autre côté de la rue. La nuit, il y a un très bon service de sécurité. Mais surtout, le personnel est vraiment sympathique avec en tête de fil Maria, la propriétaire, qui vous accueillera avec une gentillesse et une candeur typique du Costa Rica.

El aseo del baño deberia mejorar

Habitación sencilla pero con lo básico, buena limpieza. Lo mejor es la cercanía a la playa, restaurantes y al centro de las actividades
