Awesome place. Very cozy. Was there with kids but would return - very romantic.
Stayed here with our toddler during our winter Iceland road trip. Check in was super easy and the cabin had all the essentials we needed! Loved the feel of the cabin and would be the perfect place to view the aurora if it’s visible.
Great property! Very clean. Upon entering the guesthouse was very warm which was nice since Iceland is very cold in Jan. We were able to see the Northern Lights so clearly here since there’s very little light pollution. Area was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.
Decent place, around an hour from Vik and an hour and half from Reykjavik. Nice place to see northern lights
Charming Guesthouse
Our stay was absolutely delightful! The property was cozy, spotless and had everything we needed for a night stay. The surrounding area was peaceful, with stunning views! This place is a gem. Highly recommended!
Pristine, brand new, loved the vibe. Hosts very good at communicating. Just plan for breakfast logistics.
Solid
Great stay. Beautiful view and comfortable amenities. The check in was seamlesss
Great place to see the northern lights too!
Had all the bare essentials me and my friends needed. There was an annoying tapping sound coming from the heating unit that bothered us throughout the night, but otherwise a decent place.
Restful night
Very nice and comfortable. Be sure to have a 4 x 4 vehicle to reach the place. There's a small plug in stove but no oven. However there is a microwave and the blinds shut out light very well for a good night's sleep.
Very quiet guesthouse Other than the other guesthouses there is nothing there. Great to look at the landscape and if lucky the aurura
This was one of our favorite places we stayed in our two weeks in Iceland. The place is clean and well appointed with a full kitchen. The most surprising thing about it was that it is private but has views to die for. The units are positioned so you don't see any of the other ones, making you feel like you are completely alone when you are watching the aurora borealis show. It is located near all the top sites of the south coast. Really good jump off point.
Excellent place to stay!
A Great stay at Bru Guesthouse
We loved this family cabin - would definitely recommend staying here. It was super comfortable.
My husband and I loved the guesthouse. Self check in and check out was simple and easy. The view from the guesthouse was immaculate. The building was warm and clean. The kitchen had the essentials. The communication with staff was fast and helpful. The beds were comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place and would likely stay here in the future.
It was very close to some amazing locations. Had a pretty view looking out the big windows at the front. Overall a wonderful stay although the place itself feels very small even for two travellers. Comfortable beds
This place contactless check in which went smoothly due to having proper communication from the owners. This unit was spacious and comfortable. The kitchenette was adequate for cooking and fortunately I had some experience with cooking on an induction stove due to them having an induction unit to help us cook. this property is located next to one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland that allows you to walk behind the waterfall. We could also see it from our room. This is a great location to explore this area of Iceland.
Really great kitchen set-up (small fridge, microwave, and hot plate). Very quite and clean.
I would recommend this place for everyone. Loved the place and the owner, very friendly. We would definitely stay here again. Loved the out and away fro city life. 19 for 10 Great Place
Everything was perfect! We loved the large windows against the wide open landscape, which made for a great northern lights viewing. The accommodation was spotless and comfy. They provided several heaters that kept us plenty warm.
Such a cute little place! Clean, modern, tranquil setting. Wish we would have stayed longer than one night! Loved it!
Incredible stay! Highly recommend!
I stayed in one of the regular cottages with my family (4 adults) and it was easily the best place we stayed on our entire Iceland trip. The cottage was small but comfortably fit all of us. Kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed plenty of cosy teas while admiring the amazing view. We didn’t have any issues with the shower/hot water- 2 of us showered in the evening and 2 of us showered in the morning. Excellent communication from the owners.
Kitchen is a little tight. Everything else is very good.
Property is very clean and cozy with a kitchen and an outdoor grill. Beautiful view of mountains and farmland. Close to lava center and other must see sites. Less than 20 minutes to ferry to Westland islands.
Lovely setting!
Excellent location, just near 2 famous waterfalls. Even quite small house, it is clean, functional and warm. Plus the excellent view. Recommend.
Great location and view but terrible bed
Loved the area and the hotel itself it was clean and well maintained and had privacy that was amazing and great view of the land. The main negativethat really affected the guest house was the "double bed" which is an absolutely rock hard couch with 1 pillow and 2 scratchy couch pillows. It was comprable to slewping on the floor and i would highly suggest for the money paid to stay there they upgrade the beds.great location and view as i said but terrible comfort after a long day of hiking.
if you like warm shower-Don't book this place. Hot water in shower was only for 5 min. There were 4 girls in the group, some skipped shower some took cold shower. this place can't accommodate 4 persons, maybe 1. there was a note asking to conserve hot water. First person who took the shower conserved. And then we waited for an hour for hot water to warm up. the note lied - there was no hot water after one hour. I took cold shower standing in the corner, crying. It was pretty horrible. all my joy from the cuteness of the place and beautiful location was gone after the cold shower. Place was not worth the money. Disappointed.
Beautiful setting and very private. Comfortable beds and furniture and well-appointed kitchen. Great location from which to start an Icelandic adventure!
Exceptional service
This was a beautiful guesthouse with a great view. It was the only accommodation we stayed at that offered both heat and a/c (apparently a/c is uncommon in Iceland). The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped and we thought the size of the room was good. The only two things we didn’t love was that there was construction equipment that blocked part of our view, but that is out of the control of the host. My only tip for the host on improvement would be that the blackout curtains had a few hole in the fabric and they didn’t cover edge to edge that well, which made the room pretty bright for sleeping. But we would still stay here again if we were to come back to Iceland,
Nice, clean cabin close to waterfalls and other south coast destinations. Had everything we could need and more, very efficient use of space
great locally owned property
This was an amazing stay in the middle of the wide open. There was an impressive hill/mount? Nearby that the young adults climbed for amazing views. We loved it!
AWESOME stay for our family with small children. Beautiful unit, very clean and so comfortable. The views were amazing. The bed was comfortable as well. I highly recommend this property especially for families with small children.
Loved the stay here! Great view to the mountains and near by many popular locations. I would most definitely stay here again.
This was a great stay!
Very secluded but beautiful. Close to waterfall. 20 minutes to restaurants. It was like a tiny house ! Very clean. Can’t beat the view.
This guesthouse was perfect! Nice tiny home with great amenities! Very comfortable and cozy.
Wonderful night at Bru Guesthouse. Master bedroom bed was really comfy. Could use a tv in master bedroom. Sofa bed mattress was a little too firm. Views are spectacular.
Great spot for a stop along our multi-day tour of the southern coast and eastern fjords. Very easy to find and access. We split two cottages between 6 people and it was very comfortable.
Receptionist is very helpful and friendly. Everything is perfect
Great location, stunning views, decent size and well equipped.
We loved our remote cabin which overlooked the volcanic glacier and the glass design meant the sun streamed in. The beds were super comfortable and there was a small amount of tea and coffee available. The bedroom and shower worked very well. We found the cabin very handy to travel into the next village for food and took several trips out in the car around the waterfalls and hot springs. The farm is along a well maintained gravel road from the main highway. The owner was very helpful by E Mail as the weather caused several roads to close further east. In the end they reopened allowed us to continue our travels. Highly recommended
Fantastic.
Literally middle of nowhere with a nice view to the mountain and falls. We should learn from Iceland on minimalistic living. Small, compact but you still have everything you need. Brilliant !!!
We enjoyed our night stay and would stay again when visiting Iceland. Could see waterfalls from deck
Good stay
Very modern, clean property! The best one we have stayed around the island!
Absolutely stunning!
Quiet and clean.
Amazing cottage in iceland!
The place was very clean and spotless, not to mention the views and privacy you get while staying, next time im back in iceland i would definitely be back here
Absolutely adorable and cozy accommodations with an amazing view. Very private as well! We wish we stayed longer!
Beautiful cottage ! Very clean and great view!
Amazing views of mountains and fields. Easy drive to Vik and Ferry to Westman Island.
Very clean and peaceful property. Only thing to note is that it's in the middle of nowhere. Dirt roads
A cozy cottage provides everything you need for travel
Complete kitchen equipment. Beautiful location.
Great property and excellent location. We enjoyed our second time in this property. Thanks to the host. Denton
These guesthouses were so lovely and a good launching point for various day trips. We went as far as the big glacier to the south east and our trip ended last night with the northern lights from our guesthouse windows. It was convenient to jave the small kitchen for breakfast and snacks for the kids.
Our favourite cottage in Iceland
This little box was AMAZING. First of all, instructions of which room and how to enter were provided clesrly and in advance. The room had everything we need in the kitchen, even a collander and garlic press!! Haha. Which compared to other places we stayed at was amazing! The room was lovely and warm when we arrived, the bed was comfy, sofa was a nice addition. But the view was spectacular, no light pollution, we had an amazing Northen lights display right above us. Absolutely perfect.
Just right after a long day
Nice comfortable cabins
Nicely built small cabins. Unfortunately we didn’t see northern lights but great place to see one. Did not get check-in information in email but was provided on phone, once I called the property office. Kitchen had all the amenities.
Good place, marred by windy weather
A great place in a remote location near great waterfalls on the south coast. Why not 5 stars? It's in a valley that amplifies wind in an already windy part of a windy country. At night it sounded like freight train was going by & we couldn't truly get sleep 2 nights in a row. They can't control the weather, but a heads-up would've been nice.
Modern place
Fantastic location, particularly for spotting the Northern Lights. The place is modern, clean, and pleasant, even though it's small. While there's no full stove, a small stovetop is available. Remember to bring your own oil, but aside from that, the kitchen is fully equipped.
Charming little guest house. Very comfortable and tastefully appointed. Cool architectural design inside and out. Large glass windows look out onto grassy plains and mountains in the distance - a lovely Icelandic scene (we were visiting from the US). Helpful and responsive support from staff. Highly recommended.
We needed a reasonably priced placed to stay mid-week so we didn't have to drive all the way back to Reykjavik. The Bru Guesthouse offered us excellent accommodations with a separate bedroom in our unit and a kitchenette so we were able to cook our own food when there. Our unit was clean and easy to get to and the views were stunning. Highly recommend this location as a mid-way stop between Reykjavik and southern Iceland.
If you want to be out in the middle of nowhere with gorgeous views, this is the place to be! We only spent 1 night, but we had a lot of fun and enjoyed the quiet. The mountain views are fabulous. Would definitely stay again. We just wish that the Northern Lights would have made an appearance.
Property has everything we need, it’s clean and comfortable with amazing views of the Icelandic terrain.
Very cool and would recommend. Great wifi and easy drive up town. Easy self-check in, very modern and clean
This was a great location. Beautiful views.
Great cottage/cabin.
Property was clean and tidy and the management was responsive as we encountered a strong storm in the evening and he communicated ahead that the cottage was strong enough and that made us feel safer! A little out of the way but if you like the unique Icelandic feel in the middle of the country side then you will love it! Well stocked with great ground coffee and a French press! Wi-Fi was good and stayed up through the storm.
Wonderful cabins
Beautiful views of mountains, grasslands and local birds. Perfect location for a day trip to Westman Islands.
Great place with a great view, we loved it with the exception of the lack of hot water and no water pressure.
A wonderful experience. Would stay again and recommend. Just would note to bring shampoo and road is gravel road to come to Bru. These are small things to be aware of but still lovely.
Fairly expensive for what was offered, even for Iceland. Limit on hot water to 5 minute showers -which after a day of hiking feels too short.
Adorable studio-style cabin with pretty views! It is a small space but worked well for us. The kitchenette has a cooktop, microwave, kettle, and mini fridge so you can cook simple meals. There’s a shared bbq grill available for use too although we didn’t use it. (You may need charcoal - not sure.) Sleeping area included 2 twin beds together and a sleeper sofa. Fantastic location near waterfalls and the road to the Westermann Island ferry. Lots of interesting birds in the area too!
Great location. Clean, easy access, good WIFI.
What a perfect place to chill out and experience quiet contemplation. Comfortable and well equipped space, inside and out. Perfect location to go and explore southern iceland
We enjoyed our stay at this property, and found it was close to many points of interest.
Property was so clean and cute. Would definitely go back and such an easy transaction.
Beautiful
El lugar es espectacular, muy completo, la limpieza excelente. Definitivamente volveríamos, fue nuestro lugar favorito del road-trip en Islandia. Muy recomendado !
Multi night stays are a must.
Absolutely love staying here! So comfortable and quiet! Gorgeous views too!
This property was incredible! The accommodations we’re comfortable and clean with a fantastic shower. The surrounding landscape was magical as was the sunset. We sat outside and watched the fireworks of the Northern Lights and the brightest stars. Woke up to a beautiful sunrise with the mountains. Would stay here again and again.
Loved it! Loved the design of the cottage (inside and out), loved the view (glacier and sunrise), loved that we were lucky to see the Northern Lights! Highly recommend!!!
just what we needed
room was excellent and we enjoyed our stay… really appreciated having the space already set up for the four of us all communication was via e-mail; never spoke with a soul… but all instructions were on point access road was difficult; however that was just our first non-paved of the week-long trip and we saw worse
Loved this guesthouse! Super easy to check in by the code emailed way in advance. Beautiful completely private and remote location. Very modern and clean. Very quiet. Will stay here again.
Was a lovely cabin, clean, great view. The address provide was wrong, luckly the people at the address knew about Bru Guesthouse.
Beautiful view, great location. Clean and comfortable cabin.
Awesome guesthouse.
The cabins are in a gorgeous setting . The cabin was clean and had everything we would need . Loved our stay and would stay here again.
Super nice chalet in quiet location
Perfectly situated! We only stayed one night but would book several for next time. We had plenty of space and everything we needed. Even with three people.
Quiet, secluded, and beautiful!
Excellent

Great property
Excellent property. We saw northern lights… Happy….
