Excellent for school groups, and families, I had a single room with sharing which was great

Great place to stay, friendly staff, good food and great local beer.

If you want to stay close to the city, this is a great place to stay. Breakfast starts at 8am which was too late for us. We asked a to go box but was told that we should have said it a few days ahead so they can pack our to go bf.

Great hotel. All is happening there. The HQ for fun and food. The beds need a bit of updating. Other than that loved the concept

Location was great!

Had a private room with bath for 2 guests. Biggest hostel bath I have stayed in! Very clean, quiet, nice atmosphere, metro a block away. Great overall. Cons: not a very interactive hostel, not set up for mingling, or might have been just an off weekend...

Excellent place with some room for improvement.

It was great overall. The only issue is that hey have some incorrect promotions and instructions in the lobby area that caused some discomfort. For instance, there is a sign in an area directing to use the ring to get service. Then the personnel told us there is no attention in that area. Also, there was a sign promoting some food item that was not available. I told them and they blamed the company that takes cares of the restaurant and lobby area (Limbo Restaurant).

The property was small but clean. For that size of room the price was ridiculously high. I would not stay there again.

These hostel have very good locations, close to tribunal metro station, close to everything, staff is excellent.

Perfect for family, staff were very friendly and helpful. Everything walking distance. Room was very clean, bed comfortable and my kids really enjoyed the bunk beds. Breakfast is on main floor which is very convenient. Overall very good place and location.

Great experience for me as new beginner of being hostels guest. Check-in was easy, room is clean, and everything is in the order. Convenient location to begin exploring Madrid.

Everything is great about it, it’s just that the rooms get hot at night. You can’t sleep or even feel comfortable because of how hot it gets and there is no way to open the windows. It would have also been great if they would have privacy curtains or walls. Also there is no hangout and chill section because the entire first floor is used for mainly people who go to the Limbo restaurant which is the reason why you would see no one from the hostels interact with one another.

Amazing property and location! Staff at the bar sometimea were not very helpful. I would seat at the bar and bartenders/ servers would pass by without even acknowledging our presence, and the bar was empty. But overall great place to stay! We'll be coming back

I loved the rooms. It was nice overall but it was not super clean and i did not get any towels that were supposed to be on my bed. I think others have used it and when i asked nobody responded to me

Highly recommend

The hostel is very good, run in a high-tech professional way. Everywhere is very clean. Spacious terrace and the staffs are friendly and helpful. Only a few minutes walk metro station and short walk to Gran Via.

Modern and clean. Beds are nice and room temperature as well.

Unpleasant personnel

When booking a hostel, you know more or less what to expect. In this case, it is an environment-friendly hotel. You don't need a key and use everything by phone. Though the service was rude and judgy, I never felt disdainful from a receptionist like in this hostel. Receptionist controls the temperature of the room, it's summer now, and you wake up at 30 deg since someone decided that, so uncomfortable!

Great stay in brilliant area

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Bastardo. We stayed in the superior double on the top floor which was great. Very friendly and helpful staff in a really convenient and lovely area within walking distance of a lot of great places and sights in Madrid. The only note I can think of would be that while the communal roof terrace was lovely, there were hardly any chairs or tables out so we couldn't really use it unless we wanted to stand about. Overall though, had a great stay and would warmly recommend.

Love this spot! Great vibe, perfect amenities for a remote worker, excellent value for the money, really updated and nice rooms, fun social events. I’ll definitely be back!

I was very happy to stay in this Hostal. I highly recommend it to anybody. People in here were very nice and friendy. I don't have anything negative thing to say about Bastardo.... :)

You could hope for a better location in the heart of Madrid. It’s also close to the metro. The rooms and the employees are exceptionally nice!

Location and decoration, amazing place very eclectic and urban!

A wonderful hostel experience.

It was amazing and lovely staff who helped me with organising everything. The room was clean, comfy and bed was soft. The only thing is that it would be better to ask the tenants if they would require bed fence when checking-in for safety concern.

The fact there is a bar and a restaurant inside was very pleasing. Living in a mixed room was interesting. Even so everybody valued their privacy and was respectful as well. The staff was very helpful. I love the Sandeman Walking Tour they have with Bastardo. Lexi Hadfield was the best tour guide from Plaza Mayor to the Palacio Real de Madrid. Again I enjoyed my stay. Next time I'll bring a couple of friends.

I really enjoyed staying at Bastardo, the Stuff was so friendly and always there when you need anything. The place is close to everything! I totally recommend it.

Don't care about guests

I had a bad experience at this hostel because the first day I got there I left my backpack in my room but it was stolen by 2 people from outside that got into the room very easy. On top of that no manager from the hostel came to me to say sorry or empathized with me for what had happened. After coming from the police station I told the hostel I had nothing but what I was wearing at the moment and asked for a towel to take a shower and they also charged me for that (2 euros)

They did not provided towels ,and the air conditioning was weak

Very Meh

The staff here is really bad. Bad attitudes. I was told something about check out by a staff member. Later I told the other staff member what was said. He told me "no one from here told you that". Until the original staff walked over and said yes I did tell him that lol. This is just one example.

The El Bastardo is awesome. I am wholeheartedly going to stay there again. Crisp, clean white sheets. The bunks are compartmentalized so that no one is staring at you. Well designed. Super quiet room as well! Breakfast was wonderful. I got the Huevos Rancheros. Fresh, slightly spicy, and with fresh guacamole. Delicious!

I enjoy that eventhough there were six bunk beds tge way they are positioned gives you some privacy. However, i do wish tge rooms had a colder AC, the rooms were at room temperature.

Come for the Vibe

I love the vibe and location of this place. It is one of the coolest places I have stayed in a while. My only discount was that my bedding was sprinkled in someone's hair and one of the showers didn't drain properly so water would sit and smell each day, so it didn't feel exceptionally clean. But service was quick and kind and I did see a very thorough cleaning staff each day. I would probably give it another shot. I just think they could use a few upgrades based on the amount of traffic.

Nice place

I stayed in a female shared room and I really like how the room is designed offering privacy for the users. I shared my room with another 5 women and there were 2 bathroom which was amazing. Also the hostel has a very nice location, surrounded by good restaurants and pubs.

It was a good location. Lots of restaurants and bars and shopping. Also the hostel provided walking tours or would link you up with other tours. we did a hop on hop off tour. There is a restaurant on site with very good food. The shower was great. Thee only thing I would recommend is some hooks on the wall so you can hang up jacket and/or wet towels after shower.

Hotel-level quality and comfort

Excellent stay for a private room at a hostel. Amenities closer to hotel-level quality (quality and style even better than some hotels I've stayed at), but just expect the basics. Incredibly comfortable bed, great shower and private bathroom.

Great location. Very hip hostel. Uses QR code to unlock room door. Had a twin room with bunk beds. Room had a huge private bathroom, no shower curtain, so whole bath room got wet including toilet seat, no mirror in bathroom. Verticals lights in room blinded and irritated the eyes. No table or chair provided, can only sit on the lower bed and put things on floor. Good food at the restaurant, English menu is on webpage, staff speak good English. Coffee at breakfast a little too diluted. Friendly and helpful staff. Overall had a good experience at this hostel.

Unconsiderate Roommates

2 of the roommates were packing at 4:30 am and left lights on. Maybe we should be more aware of others and respect “night time” to minimize bothering others.

No place to hang clothes up, You can’t control the room temperature. No place to locate the baggage. Interesting lobby. Nice hosts.

Hostel and rooms desine is very original and very modern. Beds are big and comfertanle. Location is great.

Estaba haciendo el chek in con mi familia, en el lobby del hotel y en ese momento le robaron el bolso de mano a mi esposa , con pasaportes , visas , dinero , tarjetas , cartera , móvil, lentes , AirPods y Air Wath, el hotel no tiene seguridad ni la respuesta suficiente para poder apoyar a sus huéspedes en estos casos, no nos apoyaron en nada.

El lugar esta concebido para albergar a personas jovenes, el hostel tiene una buena oferta de entretenimiento, comida y bar. El servicio es muy bueno, el front desk impecable.

Repetiría sin duda

Los chicos que trabajan allí muy agradables, las señoras del aseo muy amables, el lugar es lindo, está bien ubicado y ofrece un montón de actividades. Solo les recomendaría revisar el sifón de la ducha que no es suficiente para la cantidad de agua que sale, por lo demás, fenomenal.

EXCELENTE RELACIÓN CALIDAD - PRECIO

Hostal apañado y muy original en su recepción. Con área de relax y una zona de restaurante sencilla. No se le puede exigir la comodidad de un hotel de 4 estrellas, pero en la relación calidad - precio se le puede poner muy buena nota. Lo mejor es la situación. Estás al lado de la parada de Tribunal y a menos de diez minutos caminando de la Puerta del Sol. Lo peor quizás es que se echa de menos la limpieza a diario.

Ótima localização, quartos espaçosos, atendimento acolhedor e uma boa cozinha de uso comum, mas levaram quatro dias pra me conseguir um cobertor e o Wi-Fi era péssimo.

La verdad quede muy decepcionado de muchas cosas del lugar, muy bonito todo pero deben mejorar muchas cosas. 1 En el equipo de recepción deben ver a quienes contratan para la atención al cliente, hay un muchacho cabello corto, de piel blanca con tatuajes, muy grosero al momento de responder solicitudes y abrir la puerta del lugar donde guardan las maletas para el es un sacrificio. 2 La limpieza de las habitaciones, prácticamente es un escobazo y un trapeador, estuve durante 14 días y tuve que bajar a solicitar limpieza profunda del baño porque estaba súper mohoso y oliendo a orines. 3 El cambio de sábanas también es un tema, entiendo que muchas personas vayan por 2 o 3 días pero si tienen inquilinos por mas de una semana deberían considerar el cambio de sábanas por lo menos cada 5 días y no tener que ir a pedir el favor xq las señoras de limpieza no hacen nada sin la aprobación de la recepción. 4 Las toallas no te la cambian, al llegar me indicaron que pagando el alquiler cuando necesitara cambio la dejara en cama, nunca pasó.. solo encontraba la cama húmeda 5to El Restaturante y el hotel son empresas independientes por lo cual, pedir hielo o un simple cubierto es una locura total, mientras estuve hospedado solicité una cuchara para comerme un helado y 2min después me la quitaron mientras comía mi helado frente a todo el mundo x no estar consumiendo ni una refresco en el lugar. (Cabe acotar que desayunaba y almorzaba en el lugar en ciertas ocasiones)

Un fine settimana molto divertente

Albergo particolare molto carino, dinamico e divertente, personale cordiale e disponibile, pulito e confortevole, ho apprezzato molto la stanza doppia dedicata a Darwin ❤️ Un posto adatto ai giovani e chi giovane si sente!

Auberge très bien située, proche du centre ville et de plusieurs lignes de métro. Le dortoir pour six femmes était bien imaginé. Les douches fonctionnaient, les lits étaient plutôt confortables, même si l'escalier pour monter était un peu casse gueule. En revanche, il y a un réel manque de savoir vivre de la part de certaines personnes... Passer des appels de 3h à 7h du matin, ce n'est pas correct envers les autres filles. Pour le prix et la qualité des services, on est tout de même sur du très bon rapport qualité-prix !

Buena ubicación y estilo

Me encantó el lugar, pedí zona de chicas y todas fueron muy respetuosas. El desayuno es agradable. Te recomendaría llevar tu candado, sino ahí te venden uno. Está en una muy buena ubicación, si llegas del tren te queda unas estaciones en metro.

Melhor hostel

Melhor hostel que já fiquei. Atendimento excelente, todos solícitos e simpáticos. A disposição das camas no quarto é muito boa, pois dá uma privacidade maior. Ótimo bar na parte de baixo. Recomendo!
