Good place to lay your head for a night. Close to a couple of restaurants where you can walk to. The room was basic but clean. The bed was quite firm but better than being too soft. The shower was good with a good flow.

Great place friendly staff

I booked Barclay on View to stay after a concert at Ulumbarra Theatre. It was a great location with about 600m walk to theatre. Felt safe to walk at night on my own. Barclay on View is an older building but very well maintained. I arrived on a 42° day and the staff had thoughtfully left the air conditioning on, so I went into a cooled room. Thankyou. Very close to art gallery, funky shops, cafes, pubs , Bendigo Visitors Information and the botanic gardens. A longer walk to the supermarket. Faith Leech Aquatic Centre pool complex, and sporting fields are over the road. Lots of open space close by for active kids to burn off energy. There's aso a huge play activity section in the botanic gardens. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. If you self cater, there's no microwave but there is a toaster. I stayed 2 nights - the housekeeping staff checked whether I needed change of towels or extra tea making supplies. I did have trouble with Google maps picking up View Street, so perhaps check directions when you arrive in Bendigo. (May the Maps app was struggling in the heat too.) The driveway entrance is just after reception. Great value, a really enjoyable stay and I thoroughly recommend this property.

Location is great. Room was spacious enough. Must say that the showers need updating though. Ours leaked everywhere every shower and the shower screen seals made the door not even close. After every shower their was water all through the bathroom.

Excellent room and facilities but didn’t receive text with check in details as arrived after reception closes at 6 and booked via third party so they didn’t have my mobile number. If you want milk or book food you have to do this before 5 which we were not aware. Everything other than that was excellent.

Everything we needed for a 3 day stay. Very comfortable with extras such as BBQ, Gym, Sauna, whilst only a stroll into central Bendigo. Would highly recommend Barclay on View and definitely be coming back again.

Property is well located in arty part of Bendigo and seems well patronized.needs upgrade as still have normal tvs ( no SMART TVs, and air-conditioning is old)

A simple overnight stay for hubby and I after seeing a performance at Ullumbra. Clean, fairly quiet location. Staff member on arrival was lovely with my couple of questions. Well worth a stay!

Close to all things bendigo. Rosalind park across the roas,pall mall 4 min walk. Musuem 2 min walk pubs ans dining right at your doorstep

Great location

Our room was spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The location is perfect for visiting local attractions on foot. Didn't need to see any staff as check-in/out were done online. Don't know whether I like that - it's nice to have a genuine welcome. Bed was rather like sitting on a whoopy cushion but it was comfortable.

The perfect location. I got the executive room on a good deal and stayed four nights. The location couldn't have been better for walking around the cbd, getting a meal or coffee, strolling through Rosalind Park, going to galleries and info centre. Room was good, bed comfy. Slept well (we rarely do at motels, so that was great!) Only negatives were the seal on the shower door was warped and shower door won't shut. It stays open while showering and drenches the floor. No streaming service (only free to air), and on our last day there was no housekeeping and we had to ring in the afternoon to ask for fresh crockery and a clean bin bag, but a full housekeeping would have been nice as we were out of most things. We figured staff were super busy so didn't ask for much. Lovely staff though! Friendly and helpful.

We had a great stay. Excellent location as it was quite and an easy walk to the Rifle Brigade Hotel where we had an excellent meal and down to the Gelato store for dessert. Lots of dining options available within 500 meters. Nice modern room. Would definitely stay again.

It was difficult to read a book in bed, or in fact at the table, as the lighting was poor. The bed lamps were too weak and low to read by. The air conditioning unit was noisy. The toilet took a few flushes before it cleared. The power board (behind the bed) was a bit of a worry as when I tried to reach it to plug in the electric blanket, the bed lamp flickered off and on. The plastic chairs were not comfortable. All in all it was basic accommodation, but, clean and convenient to everything!

Location

Barclay on View was very well located to all activities. The eating options were varied and in excellent proximity. The block-out blind for the room was great for the morning 🌄 A very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was well prepared and served.

When we arrived there a cobwebs in the room the toilet seat was broken the bathroom tap dripped all night we turned it off tight then hard to get on bed was very uncomfortable.

Central in Bendigo - affordable - very easy check in process - clean and tidy (but a little 'shabby' overall), not beyond expectation however for the price - I'm in Bendigo for work a few times a year - happy to stay there every time :)

Location was really good. Bed was comfortable. Unfortunately we the shower would go cold at random and there was a few bugs in and around our room.

Very convenient to be able to walk to shopping and dining options within a few minutes. Comfortable accommodation, friendly staff and easy parking. Cooked breakfast in cafe was very nice and well priced.

Have stayed here many times over the years, but it has clearly deteriorated and not worth the money now. No staff and maintenance issues are clear. The first day we found the shower door seal was broken and the door didn’t close properly. Staff would have had to notice that if cleaning. The bathroom room fan was long past its use by date and sounded like a truck idling. We could not use it at night as it would wake the room and even surrounding rooms with the vibration. The milk was not restocked and that was when we discovered reception was NEVER open despite the open hours signs. I rang the number on the door (during the ‘open’ hours) about getting some milk and was told there was nothing they could do! When I complained and said I shouldn’t have to go buy such a basic item they finally agreed to deliver some later that night. It was clear then nobody was on site. The room only had the most basic service and was clearly never vacuumed and when we left towels on the floor to try to get them replaced the old ones were just hung up on the shower! With no one on site there was no one to discuss discounts on checkout, and the staff answering the phone were clearly not managers. We saw a car trying to check in at 2pm trying to contact someone for ages without success. Another given the wrong door code trying to get in. It was a bit of a shambles for rooms that were not cheap! Not good!

1 night only but very pleasant stay. Lovely breakfast.

The only thing you may want to consider is the last parking spot at the top of the driveway on the bend. It was a bit tight getting around the corner with the car.

The motel was in a good location and within walking distance to restaurants, the Gold Mine and very close to Rosalind Park. The room was basic, but what you would expect for the price. The heating in the room was great.
