The personnel is kind and attentive. The place is very clean. The food at the restaurants is delicious. The rooftop is the ideal place for unwinding. It was an amazing experience! Highly recommended.
Very good place to stay at Tanger. People at front desk could be more attentive and efficient. Check in & check out (both) take a lot of time. At restaurants and during breakfast the service is top level.
We had to spend some time before the Air conditioning and the room were prepared. The Hotel Staff was excellent, but still, it took some time to get things all right before we slept that night. Breakfast was excellent, the location is fantastic and everything is really closeby
I like the clean rooms, delicious breakfast with good variety and excellent service from the staff. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance that serve decently good food as well. Can also take a stroll at the beach in the evening just to chill. Very relaxing.
Over all a good stay
I really enjoyed my stay at this property and can’t wait to return. It really exceeded my expectations.
Our room smelled like sewage and was rather unpleasant. Actually the entire floor smelt like sewage. The traffic from the street was loud and could be heard at most hours. The rooftop bar could be very nice but they had almost nothing from the menu available, we placed three orders and they had not one of those beverages in stock. This is not appropriate for a Barcelo facility. Inside the room the door to the bathroom was bent and could not close at all. There was white fuzz all over the drawers and we had no idea what this was ( I took photos) but it was distressing to see this inside our room. Highly disappointed. On a positive note, the attendant at the front door was wonderful, always smiling and very kind
We loved the environment and the experience.
Amazing hotel. A proper 5 star hotel. Rooms were clean. Hotel was fantastic . Staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Location was excellent. Would definitely recommend staying here. And I will definitely be coming back.
It was fine. About a 30 minute walk from ferry terminal. Great views from rooms, restaurant and bar.
Deceiving
Pictures are deceiving. It is on a busy main road and then you have to cross the busy road to get to the beach. Worse than Blackpool
The view, the helpful staff. My only complaint is that the bathroom light comes on automatically. That's not good when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Much too bright. Perhaps a small nite light would be better.
Nice hotel
Nice and reasonably comfortable hotel. No luxury, but clean and comfortable. The air conditioning did not work. Faces the beach, but the part of the beach facing the hotel is very dirty. I recommend walking a little further to enjoy a cleaner space.
Staff are great as always
👍
Excellent service, breakfast and views. Couldnt cross over to beach and grest promenade as crossing the blvd with street lights is too dangerous..cars dont stop for you! Great room, but get a high floor to be able to enjoy sea view room as blvd is practically a highway and extremely noisy. Otherwise great, if expensive hotel.
Felt very comfortable
Broken shower door. No bathroom door??????? Terrible service. I needed a blanket and had to ask three times. Wifi is less than 1 mbps in the room. You can’t do anything with it.
We wanted a more western style hotel after 2 weeks travelling the country and the Barcelo delivered that! The rooftop bar was lovely as well as the pool areas. Breakfast was plentiful. It was a bit far (25 minute walk) from the sites we were there to see, and the noise from the street on Saturday night (horns, yelling, talking) went on until 6:30am!!! If we were to visit Tangier again we would choose something in the old part of town. Depends on what you are looking to see and do.
2nd floor was too loud, the closet was broken, the dry cleaning returned my vest not up-to-par.
Staff was remarkable. Had a slight problem and the manager personally took it upon herself to meet with us and go above and beyond to help us and to make things right. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your are staying in Tangier. All staff always greeted you with a smile. Doorman went out of his way to find us a ride to a local spot. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at.
Great experience!
Nice hotel, close to the old medina. Easily walkable and rooms are clean and comfortable. Tried calling for room service multiple times, nobody responded. Tried calling the reception numerous times and nobody answered the phone. So hotel is clean and comfortable but staff are not the most helpful.
Poor design of the washroom, especially that there’s no space or hangers to hang towels or change of clothes. Poorly managed—our reservation was not handed properly. Great breakfast buffet. In the end it all worked out. I’m told that the other 5 star hotels in town offer better quality.
Staff very nice. Food is great
Nice place
Barceló Hotel is in great location full of restaurants options safe area. Family oriented activities. If you are type of person who likes quiet space I don’t think it would be a good fit cause in Tanga people stay late out there and you can hear noise of cars and music from around. Great place and people 🙏
To upgrade the windows for better sound proof
J’ai vraiment aimée l’hôtel mais l’odeur des igous c’était trop intense En sortant de l’hôtel en faite autour de l’hôtel
Customer service staff was terrible, they kept giving different information and then tried to blame it on us for “mishearing” when we had asked the question to 5 different employees multiple times just to be sure. Instead of trying to help they will literally argue with you and insist that it’s IMPOSSIBLE their colleagues would’ve said that, when last time i checked i’m the one who was present during those multiple conversations. The room service….do NOT waste your money, it is terrible ( literally inedible ) and comes to your room cold. Now for the rooms. The first one we had was truly trash, i refuse to believe they checked it before we came in because there is no way you would give that to a client. The sink was clogged and the toilet was leaking so the whole floor was wet, we had to insist multiple times for them to change our room. ( which btw they kept saying “yes we’ll check our room system and call you back” and of course they never did i had to physically go down and refuse to go back up when a room magically appeared in less than 1 min). Also the sea view that you pay extra for, keep in mind that you might get a huge wooden board right in the center of your “beautiful view”. The experience was terrible from start to finish to the point where i thought there was a hidden camera and i was being pranked by how ridiculous some of these situations were. The ONLY redeeming quality is the amazing cleaning staff that were so nice and tried to help as much as they could.
Fabulous find in Tangier!
Amazing property and staff; truly one of the top five hotels we’ve ever experienced, and we travel a lot! Every staff person was welcoming and gracious, helpful with suggestions, and went the extra mile. The property is exquisite: contemporary but fitting in with the culture and history of the city.
The staff was vey helpful and friendly.
Was great
My favorite place was the rooftop bar.
What a wonderful 3 night stay! The location, the rooms, swimming pool, restaurants and rooftop lounge bar are all perfect. Housekeeping and room service was impeccable. Highly recommend this beautiful, magically located hotel.
Wonderful location with an excellent staff
We booked a Deluxe Room with Sea View for ourselves and Deluxe Double with Sea View for our college age kids. Our stay was exceptional. The hotel is in the center of the International section of Tangier and is conveniently located near the ferry. Everything from the check-in to the rooms themselves was first rate. The restaurant was wonderful and the breakfast was outstanding. The rooftop bar in the evening gives you one of the best views of Tangier on the Mediterranean. It was fun to be able to see camels on the beach from our expansive terrace. I would highly recommend the Barcelo if you are visiting Tangier.
Not recommended due to gym with no equipment that works and a pool with freezing water
Really beautiful hotel, well-located with excellent views of the beach and sea. Unfortunately they gave me a smoking room when I arrived, and when I asked to change, they were gracious finally, but the room I got was half the size of the one I reserved and paid for. That was a bit disappointing. Also, the street-facing windows (sea views) are not very soundproof and the road noise was very, very loud. But overall, the design and facilities were lovely and the staff was accommodating.
Great, friendly and helpful staff
Overall a lovely hotel, staff are friendly and helpful the rooftop bar is a bonus
Excellent Stay
Service second to none, really enjoyed our stay. Lovely rooms, nice pool and spotless hotel.
Nice hotel in a great beach front location. Stunning views from the roof top bar.
Location no one very close to everything
Little gem
Fantastic hotel in a great location , the beach & marina is a walking distance away , staff very friendly and efficient , great roof top bar with small pool and awesome views , breakfast was also good with a good variety available . Beds very comfortable and nice bathroom .
A little outdated but great location
Hotel location is good and breakfast is fantastic, ocean view is unbeatable , but I stayed at second floor which is very noisy from the traffic from major road in front of hotel. The shower pressure and switch is wonderful . However the house keeping and other service is far below the standard of 5 star hotel , no one picks up phone in house keeping during normal hour, missing showing gel bottle in the bathroom , talked front desk twice to bring one more pair slipper and cup since we have three peoples in suites , it said it was arranged but never showed up during our two nights stay, I gave up on them , a three star hotel is doing better . The rooftop bar view is great and service is good, but food is really plain, worst fish I had in Morocco.
4 night stay Tangier
Amazing hotel! Very clean and spacious, with lots of amenities (3 restaurants), across from the beach and 5 minute walk to the Medina. Staff was very friendly.
Close to ferry terminal , right across the beach.
I love this property. If I had to do it over again, I would book it directly and not through Expedia. I had a bad experience with Expedia booking me a tour that didn’t show up for me and not refunding the money in the future I’m going to book my own trips.
Excellent hotel with great views, great service, great breakfast very clean and very helpful always. But the most expensive coca cola I have ever had at $12 a can even though in room service it is only $5?? Also tv’s in all public areas just constantly played Barcello hotel group ad which was not attractive for bar and restaurant ambience.
Short stay
Good location. Service is 👍 with humble emplyees who are ready to serve you. Clean location and comfortable beds. Breakfast is large with a wide varieties of food. View ofthe ocean is 👍.
The room was very clean. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff are very nice.
Best hotel in Tangier, right on the beach. The staff is excellent and willing to do their best for comfortable stay
The property is nice and new. The breakfast is very impressive. I am surprised that there is no one to help us to move the luggage at the door considering that it is rated 5-star hotel. The bathroom has a little drainage issue, which always overflowed.
Waste of Money
Beaten floors, the premium room wasn't stocked with anything, and the shower flooded the room twice even after someone was sent to fix it. Prices are ridiculously high for food. Breakfast was the only decent part. People can see your room from outside unless you close all the blinds.
Excellent and highly recommend. I will definitely stay here again when in Tangier. Definitely worth the money!
What was not pleasant at all was that my husband was given the impression that he may not be able to afford the New Years Dinner Event or at least he was nearly talked out of it after he asked about it for himself and our son. Not sure what the person at the reception meant in doing so but it left him/us with an impression that they were looked at him different to other guests which was not nice. Obviously he could have afforded it and he was interested as otherwise we would not have booked this hotel at all but after talking to the reception he was put off even attending the Hotel's New Years Dinner Event. It had a "not welcoming touch" and we do not expect from a 5 star Hotel to leave even such an impression:-(
Great New Year’s Eve gateway!!
Great location. Overall good value. I recommend it!!
Beautiful hotel. Good location, Vwry confortable room with Beautiful view. The food was outstanding. Breakfast was included and Excellent. Staff were profesional but some were cold. We highly recommend this hotel. Fernando & Albalucia
The property is in a wonderful location with great views from my room.
Right on the beach, this hotel is stellar! It’s located within an easy walk to the Medina and markets and also right across from the beach, it’s the perfect location. The rooms were quiet, modern and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at Barcelo Tanger!
I liked the rooms and facilities. Good for business stays.
This is beautiful hotel, very nice breakfast, if u can stay higher floors do, as noise levels on lower is significant due to location on main strip, view is amazing on sea side. Very walkable. U will be asked for walking tours every location so no need to book in advance. Also, if you like cab driver they also make excellent tour guides as well as personal driver for your stay
el cuarto espectacular con tremenda vista a la playa, cuarto super comodo y camine del puerto al hotel
Only the street noise is very bad. Otherwise the hotel is excellent
Everyone in the hotel is so warm and welcoming! We reached after 25 hours of travel and everyone was super kind! Unfortunately our stay was short, but it was enough to fall in love with the people!
Excellent staff, good positioning for the Tangier ferry service. Just professional all round.
excellent location close to the beach, beautiful views of the beach from the room and restaurants
Clean and great location. Hotel smells amazing.
Location is perfect right on the beach, super close to the marina, the new and old side of the city are both within walking distance , staff is super friendly, I read on the reviews before booking that you can hear street noise at night which is true, I wish they have noise blocking windows it would have made it perfect. I will still Highly recommend it .
Great beautiful hotel in front of the beach. Big rooms and comfy beds! Will definitely come back!
Good, clean, modern hotel with pools. Right across the street from the Beach.
Great
Wonderful and comfortable stay
The hotel was clean and the service from all the staff was great. I enjoyed my time on the terrace restaurant as the view of the city and sea was amazing. The waiter that served me during my stay was incredibly Kind and gave me a free coffee on my last night. I will be rebooking with Radisson for my next trip to Istanbul for sure.
Unacceptable. I paid for a two seaview rooms which cost more than regular rooms. When I got to the hotel, they gave me two regular rooms because no seaview rooms were available. At check in, the receptionist suggested that I called Expedia to ask for a refund which I did. Expedia told me that they will take care of it. No refund was issued and they closed the file. It's unconceivable that when you pay for something and you get something of a less value you don't get a refund of the difference. This is the basic of doing business.
Great location , amazing views
I don’t believe there’s a better option for a stay in Tanger
The staff was terrific. They made our stay more than extraordinary.
Paid for a room that I did not receive. View of a wall instead of sea view and not suitable for 4 people (both as per Expedia’s description). My kids had to sleep on a cot. Shower leaked a lot of water so I used a towel to soak up water. I dragged this towel to front door since the floor in room was sticky and slippery. The towel was black with dirt. Bed light would not turn off so when staff entered room while my kids were already asleep, they were flustered and just cut the electrical cord. Blanket given for kids cot had brown stains all over it. Terrible stay after a long journey of travel and deceiving Expedia description and rating. Cleanliness of hotel came with overwhelming fragrant chemical smells and perfume.
Modern luxury hotel right on the corniche with great views. Friendly staff.
Pluses and Minuses.
The hotel was OK, clean, well located near the marina but a lot of small things detracted from our five night stay. We didn’t get off to a great start. They checked ourselves and a family of four into the same room! We all showed up to unlock the door at the same time. No idea how that could have happened and the staff seem unable to figure out a solution. We got the room, sea view, and when I ran into the family later it had been sorted. Take an eye mask! They have blackout curtains but the door to the bathroom is frosted glass and there are windows in the shower and toilet with no blinds so the room gets very light in the morning. Also, it’s not a regular door, just swinging glass so I hope you and your travel companion are close. The bed doesn’t have any kind of mattress protector, just the mattress and a sheet. Never had that in a hotel before. Kinda gross. Avoid eating and drinking at the roof bar as prices are extortionate! CA$16 for a coke, same for the so called nachos. They were just a small bag of Doritos tipped into a bit of guacamole. We ate by the pool and it was a bit more reasonable. As other reviews have noted, the sea front is noisy. Like New York heavy traffic noisy! Cruising in cars and promenading on the beach is very much a thing with the locals. It’s fine with the doors closed but if you want to sit on the balcony, it can be a bit much. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is absolutely fantastic!
Excellent location
Upon arrival, 3pm local time, room wasn’t available and we were told it’ll be ready in 30 mins. 30 mins went by and the room wasn’t ready. We inquired and the help desk lady was as rude as they come. She said it’ll be ready in 15 minutes or so, then she took off for the day. The 15-20 minutes went by and we inquired again to only be told it’ll be ready when it’s ready. anyway, they checked us in an hour and half late, and the sofa bed for the kids wasn’t made. This place is overrated and not worth it.
Our stay at Barceló was wonderful. It is a beautiful, extremely nice, and peaceful hotel. The room was comfortable and the amenities are top notch. Delicious food and room service.
Restaurants were out of items listed on menus and couldn’t charge meals to room because the front desk failed to authorize me to do so when checking in resulting in confusion and multiple trips to the lobby. Costs for spa and directions for calling room service not clearly marked resulting in confusion. Most of the front desk staff were unhelpful when asked for assistance. One elevator didn’t work. Nice area but overall experience in the hotel was just inconvenient.
Stay here
Great friendly staff. Good breakfast clean room good location. Way better than expected
The highlight of my trip. This property is beautiful after its renovation! Great staff too
Absolutely in love with Barceló tanger ! Comfort cleanliness luxury excellent food service…
Had an amazing stay at Barcelo. The hotel is in Downtown Tangier with fantastic views of the beach. Nearby restaurants and shopping areas. Breakfast was fresh and staff was attentive and helpful. The hotel and the room smelled like I was in a spa.
We enjoyed our visit
Great modern luxury hotel
A very new hotel with a very high quality space. Opposite the beach with a super sea view. A stunning roof trip bar with great views across the bay. Check in staff were great.
Hotel was a great value. Nice big room, very nice bathroom and towels. Breakfast buffet had a wide variety and everything was good.
We had a terrific view of the Med and beach from our room. But the staff were even better. Thanks.
Great time in Tangier
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is wonderful. The location of the hotel is great. On the water, across from the port yet close enough to walk to the Medina and Kasbah. We had a great stay in Tangier in part because we were so comfortable at the hotel.
Service is awful. Very understaffed. We paid for a deluxe suite with a sea view and they put us in the smallest room. I complained and they said oh sorry we didn’t see which room you booked in the reservation. Waited in the small room for 30 mins before being moved and when we were moved the bellman didn’t even help
Nous avons passé un agréable moment, personnel accueillant. Très bien placé, vue magnifique.
Wonderful experience.
Modern hotel by the beach; not cheap
A full-service, modern hotel by the beach. Simplicity at a price. Views are breathtaking from the 8th floor restaurant and 10th floor bar/lounge. The staff was incredibly friendly to English speaker although it appeared that Spanish speakers are their main clientele. Honking noise from cars on the main avenue is loud all night long, enough to disturb sleep on a high-level floor. This is likely true of most hotels in Tangier, so just note that this modern hotel has the same issue. The price for additional services is high, such as the train station transfer. I paid 250dh for the large shuttle van upon arrival and only 10dh for a petit taxi hailed on the avenue for return. I didn’t try to negotiate with the hotel as I assumed that’s only customary with store keepers, though I think now that I should have tried.

Amazing hotel
