Great stay. Very comfortable and clean.
In a lovely quiet location with great views. Staff were helpful. Not much to do around the hotel. Massive choice of food and good you can swap dinner for lunch if you’re half board. Entertainment was ok.
Our first experience in a Barcelo hotel and adults only. It was a fab experience with great food (I put on weight!) - they had a different additional theme each night. Pool area was stunning. The pools were on the cooler side like most hotels but my husband enjoyed his swim. Didn’t get chance to try indoor spa but available at extra cost. Walking distance both ways from hotel. Enjoyed the walks and went to the harbour a couple of times and did a boat trip. Quiet area so if you want lively bars etc maybe not for you. But suited us. Would probably need to catch a bus to see other areas. Would recommend this hotel.
Excellent would stay again.
A lovely stay at this property. It’s walkable to Los Gigantes, restaurants and stores. Parking is at a premium, but there is a taxi stand in front of the hotel and a garage up the hill. The nightly entertainment was a nice surprise. There were plenty of overall food options and even being gluten free, I always found something to eat. The pool decks were very nice and there was plenty of seating.
Well managed and very friendly and obliging staff.
Hotel itself was nice and so too are the rooms, house keeping staff incredibly friendly, but the constant queuing for everything is very frustrating. Sadly won’t stop here again as I don’t like to spend my holiday time queuing.
Could do with bottles of water in the room
A really lovely hotel
The most amazing thing for me was the breath taking view. I had a room on the third floor which provided a sea view and a great view of the los giantes (giant rock formation). It is a must to get a room that offers this. The unexpected plus was the most powerful and vivid rainbow I have ever seen which looked like 3D and gave the appearance of being low in the sky and coming from the rocks. The room was very comfortable and clean; the shower great (for environmental reasons they try to encourage you not to exceed 4 mins but this is difficult when the shower is fabulous). They hotel try very hard to make the stay pleasurable e.g entertainment every night and themed dinners. The roof terrace is a great space and I loved the Olivia restaurant that served great quality food. I also used the spa on a couple of occasions which was easy to book but it's popular so you do need to book your treatment asap. The location is peaceful and I don't agree with other reviews that say there aren't any nearby restaurants. There are loads and some really good ones e.g. La Pérgola and Sorriso, both of which overlook the sea. The only negative for me is that the terraces whilst spacious and clean (mine had x2 sun beds) have no privacy and you are incredibly close to your neighbours. That said the time spent in the room is minimal as the surroundings are too nice to stay indoors.
Lovely hotel
Hotel was lovely. Clean, modern. Lovely room with balcony and hot tub. Amazing views from sun bathing area. Staff very friendly, breakfast buffet good. We booked bed and breakfast but were disappointed with the lack of restaurants in the area that were walkable. Only a few nice ones we found. So the hotel is remote so just go with that in mind but we were more than happy to just stay in the hotel for the vast majority of our stay because we needed a total R and R holiday. We certainly got that.
Great hotel
Everything ok
It was our lifetime experience. Sucha mesmerising ambience, food, staff and location.
Pleasant surprise
Stayed overnight but will return for a longer stay! Pleasantly surprised! Lovely position overlooking ocean, quiet area. Staff we encountered all smiley and helpful. Food in buffet at dinner and breakfast of a good quality .....we dont usually like buffet restaurants! Very clean and welcoming
Very nice! A little loud at night from the local nightlife if you’re room is not an ocean view but not their fault…just FYI
Fantastic views and great surroundings. Everything i asked for the staff did what they could to help. Including extending my check out time by 2 hours as my pick up was going to be later.
Lovely sea view from room - comfortable bed but felt the flooring around shower area was dangerous when wet. Shower mat too small.
The hotel has absolutely stunning views across the sea making each morning magical as you see the sunrise. The food was tasty with plenty of options. Drinks are branded and water always available (although not stored in your room despite there being a fridge in the room). Pool area is clean with beds a plenty. No need to rush in a morning to get one. There is a coastal path and a few shops close by although I came just to lounge by the pool so didn’t see much of the local vicinity. I am a lone single female and felt perfectly safe here. Would definitely come back.
Our stay at Barceló Santiago was disappointing, especially compared to what we expected. The check-in process was painfully slow, with long waits and staff who didn’t seem in any hurry to help us get settled. After a long journey, this was incredibly frustrating. The worst part, however, was the food quality. We were hoping for a range of fresh and flavorful options, but the meals were bland, poorly prepared, and not at all what you’d expect from a hotel of this caliber. The dining experience felt more like a cafeteria than a resort, which was a huge letdown. While the staff were friendly, the room wasn’t entirely up to standard. It wasn’t dirty, but it certainly wasn’t as clean as we’d expect. The lack of attention to detail across service, cleanliness, and food left us underwhelmed. Overall, Barceló Santiago fell far short of expectations. We wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a smooth, enjoyable stay with quality dining and attention to detail.
The hotel is great, clean and very well presented, the pool is nice and the spa is excellent. On the downside, table service at the pool bar can be somewhat slow, and I spent many nights waving at the staff to get attention. Secondly, all inclusive terminates at 12pm, so if you are like me and had a transfer at 2, you have to pay for refreshments, despite having paid all inclusive for the day.
The property itself was good and the staff excellent. I would return and recommend.
Pool
They charge for parking, but I thought they said it was included. They tell you to park in the street, but street parking is scarce. If you drive there, parking is an issue.
The ambience was great.
Amazing and defo worth doing the all inclusive package! EVERYTHING was included. Absolutely loved the entertainment, only feedback was the aircon in the room could have been better.
food was amazing, property was gorgeous ! loved it here
Amazing views of los Gigantes
On the whole all great, just a shame not enough beds by the pool as the system of leaving the towels ruins it when people aren’t event there. Great buffet choice.
Pigeons walking around inside, staff not bothered. Also, staff untrained in health and safety - server used same tongs for raw and cooked, for both beef and chicken.
Barceló team members were outstanding and provided great service. Breakfast and dinner buffets consistently showed a very good quality. Room air conditioner only able to keep the room at about 75 degrees F (24 C) and bathroom/ room ventilation didn’t work very well at all, but balcony was outstanding and was able to sleep cool enough with balcony slider open all night once the sun went down.
Okay, but expect a bit more for the price
The dinner and facilities are great, some staff were not that friendly. There’s a vibration noise in our room at midnight and they were able to accommodate and offer us a new room. There’s not really places to refill water bottles as well.
Property was in an amazing location! Food not great and hard to get service around the pool area. Love Tenerife!
Overall Fantastic
The food was excellent; better than we expected for sure. Unbeatable location in terms of relaxing views! Great gym as well with almost all new equipment and good variety. Lovely spa with fantastic service. We had a couple of very windy nights - I would recommend bringing ear plugs for sleeping since the balcony sun-covers and curtains on each room can really rattle around. The bed was also far too soft for our preference but I realise that's quite personal. Overall an amazing stay and would definitely come again!
Loved the stay
great location and amazing views
John
Acwas poor no water in the room and no parking
Loved our stay, relaxing!
The sound of the surf at night was quite amazing. No traffic sounds, no 'beach party' sounds. Just the crashing surf. Loved it.
Great stay. Would recommend:
Peace and quite, able to relax
Beautiful place and location setting, everything was amazing from breakfast buffet to night services. I really appreciated all the bilingual staff there to help with all needs.
Ok holiday hotel.
Great views from the hotel although location wasn’t best. Very limited parking if you bring a car. Rooms were smart and clean. Dinner felt more like a canteen than upscale hotel. Nice pool area usual issues with people reserving sunbeds.
Excellent hotel.
Stayed for one night whilst touring Tenerife but will definitely return for a longer period.
Great little hidden hideaway for a relaxing break. Hotel was lovely and clean, and my room overlooking the sea was beautiful. Some of the food options for non-meat eaters were limited but the dessert buffet made up for it!
Amazing views and great service!
Amazing property with amazing views! Everything is near by. Staff were so friendly and very professional!
Amazing birthday break
We had a lovely chilled out time at this beautiful hotel. We were initially BB basis and upgraded to AI for our last 2 days, as the food and drinks on offer were great. The only thing I didn’t agree with was that robes are only provided if you are AI, not BB. Also the pool towels have to be taken to/from the gym, not poolside, which the staff agreed was silly too. We had a lovely Deluxe sea-view room with a comfy king sized bed. We also booked the Bali beds for 2 days which meant we had waiter service and drinks in glasses. We’ll definitely return x
Amazing location Can’t wait to return
Friendly, comfortable hotel with great amenities
Great, friendly and stylish hotel with lots of activities (no pressure to join in though!) and lovely breakfast. The pool area is spectacular with wonderful views of Los Gigantes. It's high up (5th floor) which is great for the view, but can be a bit exposed on a very windy day, however hot the sun is!
We loved the pools and the views from the rooms are absolutely breathtaking. We did not love the no food to the room and no water bottles in the room. We also did not like the service, often waiters would only come to your table once and if you did not ask for water they would not bring anything. The bar always had a massive line.
Had a great stay once we were able to change rooms after 2 days (we started off with an accessible room which wasn't giving the vibe of the deluxe room we had booked). We went at a period (October) where the weather was beautiful, we could enjoy the very nice swimming pools but unfortunately the beach, which is the reason we booked this hotel, had been closed for a while so you might want to check that when you book. This hotel probably has the best view of the island, the sea view and views of the the sunset behind the Gomera are amazing. Parking is free all around the hotel but it's very difficult (or takes patience) to find a spot at the end of the day (the hotel's parking was full when we arrived). Breakfast is good but a bit repetitive after a few days. Animation is a bit heavy for a couple who prefers a quiet environment (music from the night animation is loud until past 11pm) but seemed to satisfy a lot of people there who were having fun.
Clean and nice
The hotel was not diversified... I kinda felt out of place
First time in Barcelo Santiago, overall really great experience, would highly recommend to friends and family. The views of Los Gigantes are breathtaking, we had 2 balconies with different views with sun lounges, which was so good if you just want some time alone. Staff were very friendly and helpful, occasional difficulties placing the orders and getting what you actually ordered, possibly due to language barrier. Staff are really hard working throughout the hotel. Areas outside hotel were beautiful and always tidy. The quality of food was really good, particularly enjoyed variety of fish, pizzas, fresh orange juice in the mornings. The area felt safe and quiet. The only thing that bothered me a little was the constant door slamming in the mornings, likely by other hotel guests, since we both like to sleep in good things we can noise cancelling headphones.
The views from this hotel were amazing. Staff and other visitors were all very friendly. Nightly entertainment was fantastic and I LOVED watching the mid morning workouts in the pool. The instructor seemed very enthusiastic. Our room was good, except we had two twins pushed together instead of a single bed. We also had large cockroaches in our room and on the patio. We stayed 3 nights and found at least 2 each night, 1 was on the bed. It made the room feel "dirtier" even though everything was very clean. Buffet was great, but food is limited. No room service, and the actual restaurant was not included in the "All-Inclusive" option. Since it was a short stay, it was bearable. Pools were fantastic and we were able to get lounge chairs each day. There is not really a beach, but around the area you could get down to the cliffs and get in the water. I was told there was a beach nearby in the town somewhere. If I were to go again, I don't think I would purchase the all-inclusive. There were restaurants and stores across the street, which would have given us more options.
Amazing facility with SUPREME staff. Shout out to all the front desk staff, the great cleaning staff (that were very creative with our perpetually messy room) and the bartenders. We loved our stay here and would come back in a heartbeat.
Property is mostly renovated, Oceanview is spectacular. Rooms are clean. Most of the staff were friendly, except for a few. Everything you need is in walking distance. Would definitely go back.
Spectacular views, great location, and very clean. We had an amazing time! Highly recommend!
Me and my friend stayed for one week, I booked a room with two separate beds but they gave us a room with a king size bed. We infomered the reception about the error, but they ignored us completely, and we had to share the bed. You have to pay for parking, it is not included in the booking, and it costs 10€ per day. On the positive side, they served good quality of breakfast and dinner; breakfast was included in the booking price, dinner costs 6€ a day.
Great stay
View was amazing. Staff were excellent. Enjoyed a great break. Parking was hit and miss.
An excellent hotel and an amazong holiday. Would strongly reccomwnd for a qiet relaxing time with good food. Thanks Barcelo!
Lovely quiet hotel in nice surroundings. Animation team great and offered lots of activities around the pool. Lots of sun beds and umbrellas but would be nice if the sun lounges had cushions and not very comfortable when lying on them all day. More variety on the food would be nice.
Hotel and room: Great location with amazing and dramatic views of the ocean and cliffs. Staff were super courteous and friendly. The terrace with the pools is amazing and one of the most relaxing places I’ve been. My room (superior ocean view) was clean and had amazing views. My room was also very quiet, as far enough from the night bar, I could sleep with the window open to the sound of ocean waves breaking on the rocks. Activities: The hotel runs some group activities by the pool like yoga and aqua gym every morning if that’s your jam. Most important though, great sightseeing activities can be booked from the hotel tourist centre like dolphin watching boat trip (there are so many dolphins!), and a tour of the national park including going on top of the 3000m Teide volcano (wear sunscreen!!). Food: The buffet was perfectly acceptable though international and not very Spanish. It also does not vary a great deal day by day. However, I found the restaurant choices in town disappointingly limited (very tourist-trappy), so I stuck to the buffet every day—half board is a great bargain. Breakfast is great. Amenities: The restaurant has an absurd and sexist no shorts policy for men at dinner (even nice dressy ones), while women can wear embarrassingly short mini skirts (honestly!). The gym is small and rather limited but it can work and it’s free. However, you have to pay extra to access the steam room and sauna which was frankly ridiculous. Great overall!
Views of cliffs and Teide mountain, Excellent breakfast Helpful staff, pool area excellent and clean.
YOU PAY FOR ROOM SERVICE THERES NO KETTLE IN BEDROOM STANDARDS COMPLIMENTARIES
High quality hotel with well deserved reputation
Lovely hotel. Great views from terrace. Excellent buffet food. Well deserved reputation
Great Xmas!
Thanks for a great Xmas!
clean and quiet. spa and wellness are fantastic. best views. choose a room wisely for a better view.
It was great to not have children around. Staff was friendly and helpful, the food was decent and the facilities were clean. Biggest complaint was the smokers, they didn’t stick to the smoking areas and we couldn’t keep our patio door open because of people smoking on their balconies. It was pretty difficult to escape the smoke smell. Other than that it was very relaxing and a much needed break.
Not a great experience
Very loud music in the bar next to the hotel kept us awake for two nights. Hotel refused to move us as it claimed no rooms available. Their website showed availability. They then agreed to move us but only if we cancelled our stay; forfeiting our up front payment and rebook. At which point my partner burst in to tears. After further lengthy 'discussions' they agreed to move us without us having to cancel our existing reservation. We got the impression this hotel was more of a logistical operation rather than a hospitality venue, churning hundreds of 'guests' in and out each week. This establishment is massive and if you are not used to hundreds of people dining and living under one roof or able to cope with poor sound insulation it is best avoided. In addition I emailed to ask if I needed to prebook parking and was told this was not possible and I should enquire when checking in. No space was available so was told to park elsewhere and that I should have prebooked! A friend who was staying with us prebooked and had a parking space. Parking on the street near the hotel is a nightmare.
The food at the buffet was a little bland and did not change much from day to day.
I enjoyed being at the hotel which I had visited over 20 years ago.The hotel had been renovated and was comfortable. The staff, especially at reception were very courteous. Unfortunately I had to leave after one week as a close family member was seriously I’ll.
The room smelled like sewer really strong, they came to fix it twice. But it didn’t work. The breakfast buffet was so crowded and ran out of many things. Would not stay there again.
Just returned from an amazing stay. Beautiful location. Wonderful hotel. Lovely food. Enjoyed the aqua aerobics and other classes every day that are suitable for all ages. Only gripe was the Sun beds all being taken up first thing every day. Beautiful views of the cliffs. Would def recommend and would love to return again.
Brilliant place good food 👌
Great place to rest and enjoy evenings events.
Fantastic place. Could,nt fault anything, loved every minute.
Friendly spacious relaxing
Lovely visit, spacious room bed was so comfy. The spa was beyond relaxing when I visited. I felt the location was stunning right on the water.
The lunch, dinner add on option was not explained properly. Nothing to drink was included at dinner, not even water (which would be charged to your room). There is no on site parking and you are left to search for parking on the streets which at best is tight. We got "lucky" to find a spot each of our three nights, but could easily see how that luck could run out. Otherwise, a good experience.
Amazing location with great views of the sea and cliffs. A wide choice of food with very attentive and hard working staff. All areas were clean and well maintained. Reception were so helpful with a car hire problem. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.
Beautiful place!
Beautiful hotel in a stunning location and we will return again and again. There is no coffee available with lunch or dinner service which is a shame because there are so many lovely cakes on offer and many people want a hot drink and cake after lunch.
Family holiday.
Great location, short walk to the beach nearby, beautiful view. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is super clean and the bed is vey comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are good, lots to choose from.
Good - rooms for nights 2 - 6, food & drink, bar. Bad - room for 1st night On arrival we were allocated rooms overlooking the street, despite the fact we had booked ocean view rooms. In the street was a Route 66 bar which was playing loud music until 2:20am, meaning we had little sleep that night. A receptionist informed me that all music venues were required to close at midnight, but this obviously didn't happen with Route 66. The next morning we were moved to ocean view rooms which were great and we had no further issues with noise. We very much enjoyed the relaxed buffet-style breakfast and dinner arrangements. Unfortunately the weather was bad during our stay so we didn't try the pool - but it did look nice!
Worth a stay
Very pleased with the cleanliness and food - better than expected
Lovely!
All the staff were incredibly helpful and always made time to ensure your question was fully answered. There was friendliness at breakfast, which is always a nice way to start a day. There was also a great attention to cleanliness everywhere.
The hot tub room made the whole experience super fun, different, romantic and a real treat! Amazing views from the pool area too of La Gomera and Los Gigantes!
Fantastic hotel, great location with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend to all.
Location of the hotel was wonderful near the sea and walking distance into small town and nearby walks. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly, with fast services. Restaurant food was great being vegan and vegetarian there were options of salads and vegetables etc not no main vegetarian dishes like for non vegetarians who had lots of options. overall the food was of good quality and abdance. The hotel was okay for two persons we went for the sea view with hot bath tub not much of sea view with these rooms. The bed mattress was awful and worn out bad dent and springs, I was sleeping on the sides and not bad aches. They definitely need to change the mattress. Which I did complain about. The main shower was not great hardly any water flow, it needed a good clean for the water to flow threw was not powerful with low water pressure. The toilet door opens inwards and hardly any room to move around, I am 5"1 my legs just about left okay not ideal for tall person. We asked for an Iron which was old, broken and hardly worked. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel really needs to pay attention to each room and check the showers, bed mattress, I understand it is a big hotel but no excuse for management to do weekly check ups in the room and fix faults. Main reception always busy with queuing system they should have one for check-ins, check outs and for guest otherwise you are waiting inline to ask a very quick question.
Poor service
The hot tub on our balcony was amazing. The room was too cold we spoke to reception to get the hearing fixed and noone came up. Our hot tub broke down for 2 days and noone came up..overall not impressed with the service. The welcome reception admitted that the could not give us a room with a sea view even though we upgraded and paid for a sea view. Poor service!!
Nice hotel pity about the smoking policy
Paid for an upgrade deluxe superior and got a basement level balcony level with public footpath directly outside our balcony. We said to reception before even unpacking and was told hotel full we eventually got another room but had chain smokers next door to which we were told by reception they were allowed to smoke on their balcony. This compromised our fresh air holiday experience, thinking it was a non- smoking hotel. The food was superb in our half board stay as were the very friendly waiter service staff.
Buffet food was excellent. Views are spectacular
One night stay
Great location ,excellent facilities, very good food selection and quality A/C not working properly in room
Modern Cliff Resort with Gorgeous Seaview
Super facility on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic and sunsets were exquisite. Modern decor, clean and spacious room. The pools and sundecks we're fabulous. Fast check in by Johnathan upon arrival and good pool bar service was attentive. Pina Coladas were tasty. Food quality was above average and plenty of diversity, even for those with food allergies or vegetarian. Lots of restaurants and bars within short walking distance. Close to 2 natural swimming pool areas in the ocean formed by cooled lava. Close to boat service for whale and dolphin watching. I had 2 negative takeaways: parking is difficult to find (as it is all island) & the WiFi in my room (top corner) had a weak signal forcing me to go elsewhere.
A quite wonderful experience!!
The most amazing holiday experience in this beautiful resort! Perfect in every way. Wonderful service, delicious food, drinks and stunning views of Los Gigantes. Every member of staff gave 100% too. Special thanks to Rosy, Jesus and Maria and the restaurant manager. Can’t wait to come back In February!
Amazing views of Los Gigantes
Amazing hotel, the views are incredible. The staff is very friendly.
Great place
Had a fantastic stay. Lovely hotel, great location. Food was great, could find enough enjoyable dishes.
Internet was very poor. Room was lovely and bright. View was excellent
Barcelo Santiago has primo location in Puerto Santiago and stunning views of the little giants (Mirador Los Gigantes). The property is situated away from the beach and in a more quiet inlet. Front Desk: We wish everyone at the front desk is as efficient, helpful and friendly as "Enrique" from Cuba. F&B: Aside from the pool bar, there is only one restaurant. Servers' job seems to be primarily cleaning and setting tables. Guests have to line up to get coffee/tea at breakfast. Some ingredients are reused for another dish at a later meal, i.e. roasted drumsticks from lunch were reused for a curried dish at dinner. Stale sliced bread from another meal appeared on top of fresh ones in bread baskets at the next meal time. Kitchen staff had pushed dish carts into me more than one occasion at the buffet line. Some drinks are only available at the pool bar. Property: Barcelo Santiago is not brand new, but it was renovated in 2006 and it is very clean. I wish there are bigger, better situated and designed, and more bathrooms to handle so many guests in this smaller building. Plumbing scent is in the lobby across from the front desk, across from the restaurant, and in the best room we stayed. We are overall very happy to have found this property for a few nights to end our 3 week long vacation in Europe. We focused on enjoying the outdoors and the views at Barcelo Santiago.
Just OK
The newly renovated rooms are good if not a bit compact. The food at breakfast and dinner buffets I found to be average at best and most of the food was quite sub-standard to be honest. The spa “water circuit” was unremarkable. Feels very crowded at meal times which really cuts against any feeling of relaxation.

Great views and the staff were super friendly. Did not experience any queuing issues that others have mentioned. Facilities were clean and surrounding areas were serene and relaxing. Food options are plentiful and there’s something for everyone if you have picky eaters. Had a small issue in the room with the AC (normal wear and tear) but was promptly taken care of. Very happy with everything and would highly recommend.
