Worst Checkin Ever

Probably the worst checkin we have ever experienced. We arrived after a very long journey to be treated with rudeness and disrespect. The receptionist raised her voice with unnecessary peremptory demands off us including one to copy our booking with you and e-mail it to the hotel! When we finally drew the line on this nonsense she resiled and promptly withdrew her demand….this lady made us feel that she was doing us a favour to allow us to stay in the hotel..a most unprofessional performance throughout. This is our first time to have to complain about a check-in.

Beautiful experience

Rather expensive but nice hotel with excellent staff. I didn’t try the breakfast so cannot comment on it. The hotel is a bit out of the way with about a 20 minute walk to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the main square but it’s in a safe area.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Ourence.

Staffed very friendly. Bed super comfortable. The room was a little cold and not very cozy.

Inconvenient for 3 adults.

Room is inconvenient for 3 adults. Bathroom is super modern but open so no place to dress. Had to use toilet room for that and when showering undress in shower and throw stuff on floor.

Good location and great Breakfast choice. Wardrobe sliding door is a problem and floor dusty sometimes as you can feel it when walking around with out slippers. Toilet and wash area not private.

Not easy, no bathroom privacy in a 2 bed room

Compared to other hotels in Galica trip, this hotel was difficult from beginning to end. It is overdesigned and impractical, the car parking tight and requiring ringing bells for entry ( not swipe). The breakfast was the worst we had in Galicia with hard eggs and a mediocre selection for which we had to make a "covid" reservation despite it being not busy..no other hotel required this. Check in and check out took a long time and asking to stay a second night required a call to Argentina for a club rate which was in the end the same or more than our on line deal with Hotels.com. We would have had to pay 10 euro each for a queen bed room our room had 2 singles pushed together despite their being no privacy for showering as the bathroom was open to the room. Lights hard to reach from bed and side tables too low, too small and difficult to reach. Positives incuded good linen and pillows, amenitites and a kettle in the room.

Very nice place, right in the middle of the city. Great clean, spacious room. Odd lighting configuration. If you needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you needed to turn on light in the main area of the room. Other than that, very nice room, very attentive staff, and an overall very nice experience.

Buen sitio en el centro de Ourense

Buen hotel en el centro de Ourense, todo lo que se puede pedir. El parking es muy pequeño por lo que si tienes un coche grande es dificil maniobrar pero todo bien.

Good hotel, in a great city centre location .

Hotel reception staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They allocated one of their newly refurbished rooms to me, which are modern and really beautifully designed. Enjoyed my stay - and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to my friends.

Nice place but dirty due to construction.

The San Martin is nicely located in Ourense; unfortunately there was no notice of on-going renovations. Our 3rd-floor room was modern, spacious, had a nice firm new(?) bed, and a nice view of a small city plaza/park. Unfortunately, the light switches made no sense as to what lights were operated; several USB ports didn’t work; no door for privacy of the toilet/WC; no klennex/facial tissue; no bar/hooks for shower towels; the area behind the new toilet was unfinished (ledge not painted, window unreachable and very dirty, cigarette butts on the window ledge); non-refinished main interior window frame (old paint chipped, rusty metal); and unswept under the bed (hard floors throughout). The breakfast buffet was ok, however, the bacon & eggs in the steamer could have been hotter. At least there was a plentiful offering of other foods. After breakfast, we requested a 1-hour delay in checking out, but could only get a 30-minute one - due to construction. They said water was to be turned off at noon so we wondered what conditions the other guests were dealing with. The San Martin will probably be a really nice place to stay once all the work is done, question is when.

Style over substance

No door on the designer bathroom makes for some interesting moments. No air conditioning as it was 'out of season' yet the temperature was 27 Celsius. The stylish bedroom door would not lock, but we were offered a different room. I can say the beds were super comfortable.

Buena opción en Ourense en una gran ubicación

Una buena experiencia en un hotel de gran tamaño, con habitaciones de tamaño adecuado para dos personas. La ubicación no podría ser mejor, al centro de todo en la ciudad. El hotel es moderno y está en muy buen estado.

Salvo el Aire Acondicionado que nunca enfrió, todo lo demás excelente. Todos muy atentos, en especial la Gerente Australiana. Recomendable!!

Hotel a la entrada de la zona vieja. Se puede meter el coche en el parking para dejar las maletas, pero nosotros hemos aparcado en la calle sin problema (zona azul/). Habitación amplia, limpia y cama comodísima con variedad de almohadas para elegir la/las que más te gusten. Café soluble/infusiones de cortesía.

Nice stay at Barcelo hotel in Ourense

La habitación doble la llaman superior. Es decir, no existe la habitación doble, su base es llamada superior. Para mí, era una doble en un 4 estrellas reformado. Recepción correcta, limpieza notable. Detalles no demasié. Se volvería? Sí, aunque buscaría menor precio.

En general la estancia ha estado bien. Puntos negativos a destacar: - Para acceder al hotel hay que subir escaleras. - Para ir al desayuno hay que usar un ascensor diferente al de las habitaciones. - Para entrar al garaje hay que bajarse y llamar al telefonillo que se encuentra al lado contrario del conductor.

Nos pusieron en una habitación que la ducha no tenía mamparas con lo cual te duchabas con una cortina, cuando terminamos de ducharnos el baño estaba inutilizado, el suelo lleno de agua

Accueil peu chaleureux par le personnel, j’ai pensé que c’était la façon galicienne de recevoir les visiteurs. Après mon deuxième séjour, je allé dans un autre hôtel de la ville, et là l’accueil a été radicalement différent : chaleureux, souriant, avec de l’humour. C’est donc à l’hôtel Barcelò que l’on est reçu froidement, peut-être que cela fait partie de l’identité de la marque.

Grata sorpresa

Había estado en otro Barceló y el recuerdo que tenía era malo. Nada que ver con este hotel de Ourense, que me pareció muy bueno calidad-precio. Habitación muy cómoda, con un mobiliario renovado y bonito y un gran desayuno con mucha bollería, embutidos (jamón, chorizo, fuet, lomo y 5 o 6 quesos), huevos revueltos, bacon, salchichas, muchos panes diferentes, frutos secos, 6 o 7 frutas etc.

Hotel céntrico con una malísima insonorización

Hotel muy buen situado, desayuno correcto y atención buena. Problema: se oyen todos los ruidos de la calle con una claridad asombrosa. Los cristales de las ventanas no aíslan absolutamente nada, de modo que tuvimos que ponernos tapones para descansar

Nem bom nem ruim

O hotel encontra-se bem localizado.Os funcionários são educados e disponíveis. O estacionamento é péssimo,super apertado e horrível de manobra e na rua não tem como estacionar por perto. A internet é muito ruim não funciona, cai toda hora. O desjejum e farto e vale o que se paga.

Buen hotel céntrico, mal servicio de limpieza

Muy buen hotel en una zona céntrica de Ourense. Muy difícil de aparcar en la calle y el garaje del hotel es pequeño y cuesta 15€ la noche. El personal de la recepción del hotel es muy atento y amable, sin embargo el personal de limpieza no usa la mascarilla cuando están trabajando (a veces se la suben si ven que llega alguien, pero la mayor parte del tiempo se la pasan con ella bajada, lo cual yo creo va en contra del protocolo actual).

Hotel céntrico con parking privado de pago. El interior está reformado y las instalaciones son acordes a un hotel de cuatro estrellas. Estancia cómoda y agradable.

La estancia y el desayuno excelentes. Muy buena ubicación. La única pega es que el servicio no tenga luz independiente de la zona de lavabo (separada del resto de la habitación por una mampara transparente). Eso permitiría usar el servicio sin iluminar la habitación.

La ubicación y la disponibilidad de parking con acceso al hotel

Nos encantó la cama, te atrapa y se descansa genial. El hotel en general es muy bonito, moderno y limpio. Habitación espaciosa y muy limpia. El desayuno muy variado y el personal muy agradable, con un detalle que nos sorprendió y agradó. No nos gustó el escaso espacio para poner ropa (1 armario diminuto para 2 personas) y que el parking del hotel cueste lo mismo que uno externo cercano. Preferimos el externo porque el hotel te cobra lo mismo (15€) estés 1h o 24h (¿?).

Hotel muy cómodo deslucido por un mal servicio

Al llegar fueron muy amables y nos permitieron aparcar en el parquing para descargar, el hotel cuenta con inmejorables instalaciones, camas muy cómodas, muy moderno y muy acogedor. Sin embargo el servicio deja mucho que desear, la recepcionista del check in, ante la peticion de cama de matrimonio nos quería cobrar 10 euros más, cuando en otros hoteles de esta cadena, nunca nos han cobrado por eso. Mucho ruido por la mañana por parte del servicio de limpieza, además de entrar en nuestra habitación sin llamar. A las 12:05 estábamos saliendo de la habitación y nos llamaron para preguntarnos si ampliabamos la estancia.
