Good but a little disappointing

Had call the maid out on day one as the bathroom was covered in ants. The bathroom had to be fumigated I believe this just was the time of the year, but still very unexpected.

Barcelo Montcastelo - a hideout for a proper rest

I had a great time, I should have booked to stay longer because when I actually started enjoying this place was when “time’s up!!’’ Jade(Receptionist) and her colleagues were particularly helpful as they let me into my room earlier.

Great location for visiting the coast and inland areas. Excellent breakfast, good food and friendly staff.

Lovely hotel … though the drive up didn’t fortell that well. Facilities were great … all you could want. Peaceful quiet and buffet was a pleasure. Being in Jerez was a way from the coast … So it depends why you want. Nice golf course and next to Jerez race course

Amazing hotel great breakfast great staff

My review is for the golf resort. We booked at the convention centre but when we got there it wasn’t open. The golf resort is very close. The area is a little remote from everywhere if you are not there for golf. It is about 30 minutes to Jerez and about 45 mins to Cádiz. There was no problem with the reservation once we determined we should try the golf resort. My GPS jet finding a Barcelo Convention Center in Jerez. That is not the one.

Ground floor rooms were bit noisy, minor deal but no tissues in rooms, limited updates on toiletries, but probably a good thing as so much waste there.

A 5* hotel should not always be judged on the surroundings amd amenities (which were actually beautiful and plentiful here) but on how they treat their visitors and their ability to overcome any issues that may arise. Without going into intricate detail, a couple of issues (of my doing) arose and both receptionists’ dealt impeccably with my concerns as well as solving both issues effectively and efficiently. Well done to the staff at this hotel who really do make your stay feel special.

Perfect fo Jerez race track

Perfect location for Jerez race track which is walkable. A little way from the center of Jerez but taxi rank at hotel.

This is a lovely hotel. It has been a little bit spoiled by the fact that you can now book without breakfast and the food police are rather aggressive. The breakfast is fab and worth the money but would be better if you could book the room with breakfast. It seemed a little muddled as to who had and hadn’t booked breakfast and maybe a better system could be put in place.

Comfortable rooms.

The room was very nice and pretty large. The bathroom was huge and well-equipped. There was no kettle or coffee maker in the room. We had to leave before breakfast was served so the hotel packed us a much-appreciated picnic. Overall a good stay, but the hotel is remote so be aware of that.

Very good service and a lovely hotel, the food is divine and the golf course is next door, fabulous short stay

Assumed we were staying with complimentary golf ,as that was the sole purpose of the trip as we have stayed at the centre for the last 10 years. We finished up paying an extra £ 160 each more than we were told other guests paid

Amazig hotels

When we arrived we were told that the hotel was being remodelled and that we were upgraded to the golf resort. Everything was amazing. My opinion is that Barceló is a very good chain and the stay is guaranteed to always be good!

Needs refurbishment. Good for Circuito de Jerez.

Check-in was at the 5 star hotel. Before it was at this 4 star hotel...there was nothing to state this change so I ended up wasting time trying to access the 4 star hotel entrance but it was locked. Hotel is fine, a bit run down. Room was tidy, but lots of flies in the room, especially the bathroom in the sink, shower, toilet etc. not good really. Aircon was just about ok - at least this time it worked, as the last time I stayed it did not. Breakfast was good - this is due to it being in the 5 star hotel a short walk away. Location is perfect - I was there for the racing circuit, just next door so it's only a 2 or 3 min drive. If I were there to visit the town, I'd stay in the centre.

You will like it if you play golf

The hotel grounds are very nice and its a very tranquil area, except perhaps the noise coming from the closeby motorcycle circuit. Although i personally wasn't that bothered, i can see why some people could be bothered by the noise, especially when relaxing reading a book. Breakfast and food ok but not special. Be warned that facilities like the pools are not open until the summer months. Probably a good place if you play golf, otherwise there are better choices in the area for the money. The hotel is around twenty minutes drive from jerez, if you want to stay close to restaurants etc this is not the place for you.

Hotel was ok, staff were sometimes a little rude!

Rooms at the premium hotel were much better than the 4 star. The 4 star villas are very dated. 5 star rooms were ok, I was bitten to high heaven when in bed on my final evening. If you didnt want to opt for buffet the menu was limiting, but the buffet was good. The bar staff were always really helpful and nice.

A base away from home

Used this hotel as a base to tour Jerez. Visited the show at the Spanish Equestrian Center, Sandemans Bodega tour etc

Golfing

Very nice rooms with good views from balcony,very comfortable beds and great bathroom.Staff excellent,food great,will go back again.

Great hotel

Good hotel although the neighborhood is rather run down with half built villas and apartments close by.

Pity about all the undisciplined screaming kids.

Great facility and spotless clean. The buffet at breakfast, lunch and dinner gets tiresome very quickly, however there are a number of great restaurants within a couple of minutes drive. The only real disappointment was allowing uncontrolled, undisciplined screaming kids into the wellness centre making the spa more like a kids water park all day long. As such we could never recommend this hotel as a relaxing spa resort.

Delightful views to golf court and Jerez from Main Terrace. Fantastic and friendly service.

2 Nights in a Villa

Stayed two nights in a Villa room. Very nice and the A/C worked great. . The food is very good but one needs a car to eat anywhere else. I did not play golf but the course looks very nice. The staff was also very helpful and spoke English. The pool is exceptional at this hotel. I will be going back to this hotel!

Stayed here several times, always good

As usual got an upgrade to the main Hotel (5 Star) which is a very nice place, if a little soul-less. The staff are suitably attentive but I always enjoy a bit of character and this was missing. The food was very good, nicely presented and tasty. Reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel. The pools were quite dirty, I think the weather had been windy and so they had quite a bit of debris in them (leaves, etc) but it was surprising for this standard of hotel. Disappointed to be asked to pay extra to use the Gym facilities. Good Wi-Fi connection across the Hotel which was appreciated. No charge for this.

Best hotel in Jerez de la frontera

The hotel keeps getting better and better. Finally remodeled, the grounds are immaculate, service is above and beyond excellent, I will keep on staying at Montecastillo every time I visit Jerez.

Excelent place to relax and chill out

I really liked this hotel, totally recommended if you want to relax and switch off, the surrounding area is very quiet, they have two swimming pools, spa and nice golf course. However f you would like to visit Jerez is around 15 minutes driving to the town center, it is beside the Jerez circuit. It is a premium 5 stars Barceló and it doesn't let you down, the only thing I could say is that the air conditioning needs to be bigger to cope with the hot weather during the summer. Highly recommended.

A Brilliant Resort suitable for all purposes

It was brilliant. We were not there for the Golf, as many are, but used it as a vacation Hotel. Everything about the Resort is spot on - from the food to the views, the rooms to the location. But, most of all, the staff are exceptional. I've already personally recommended the Resort to colleagues visiting Jerez

As a golf break this is excellent value for money, rooms comfortable and clean. Golf course is fantastic. Located near Jerez so good opportunity for sightseeing and sherry tasting...

dissapointed!!

I have stayed at this hotel previously and had a fantastic relaxing time. However unfortunately this time when I arrived they were in the middle of refurbishing the main entrance. If I had been pre-warned (option to stay here or not) or offered a discount I wouldn't have minded so much. However the dust and banging from early 08:00/09:00hrs onwards, meant I didn't need an alarm!! And I didn't feel that relaxed as I was only there for 4 nights. Shame as I will now consider booking another hotel next time I visit jerez.

Montecastillo

This was a great hotel if you are after a quiet relaxing holiday. It is out on its own a bit but the facilities are good and the staff were friendly. Super golf course and pool You really need a car if you want to go anywhere else though. Luckily we just wanted to relax so it was great for us and there were plenty of people who were only interested in playing golf that it suited too. Make sure you get the breakfast buffet included when you book as it makes it good value

Barcelo Jerez Montecastillo

Although the hotel was advertised as Jerez, in fact it was some distance outside and one would have to use a car or hire a taxi if one wished to visit Jerez. It is predominantly a hotel for golf enthusiasts but non-golfers who just wish to relax will find it extremely comfortable with large spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. A big plus is that the dining room opens at 7.30pm unusual for many hotels in Spain. Plenty of parking space and an excellent breakfast. Cannot find a bad word to say.

Great place to stay!

I have to tell that for the rate we paid, this is a great hotel. Staff was really nice, very friendly and always willing to help. I really enjoyed my stay here. It is very close to the train station which make it more attractive as a hotel! It was very clean, spacious and a great place to stay.

Estancia cómoda y placentera

Una estancia muy tranquila y placentera en pareja. la habitación ,limpia y en perfetas condiciones, con buena temperatura y las camas cómodas. Hubiera preferido una cama de matrimonio, en lugar de 2 camas individuales. El buffet a la altura de lo que se espera de un Barceló de 4 estrellas. Todo más que correcto.

Excelente... Sólo tuve una pega la última noche pedí una pizza al servicio de habitaciones y parecía calentada en microondas, malísima.

Eine nette Siedlung um großen Golfplatz gruppiert. Aber auch als Nichtgolfer fühlt man sich wohl. Ein hervorragendes Frühstück- und Abendbuffet.

Muy recomendable para quien quiera estar cerca del autódromo o vaya jugar golf. Sigue el elevado standard de la marca Barceló.

Un hotel muy agradable, tranquilo y en plena naturaleza. Buen buffet y buena atención por parte de todo el personal. Fuimos elegidos cliente del día y nos dieron una serie de comodidades extras que no teníamos contratado, aparte de un circuito gratis por el spa del hotel . Repetiremos la experiencia sin ninguna duda. Muchas gracias Barceló Jerez Montecastillo por la estancia tan agradable.

Hotel espectacular, desayuno excelente, mejor imposible. Lo que no me gusto que para desayunar tienes que ir al otro hotel y salir de las instalaciones caminar 500metros aproximadamente. Y si el día no acompaña pues te mojas o pasas frío.

En general bien pero hace falta mantenimiento. En nuestro baño había un foco descolgado y una mojadura en el techo de la bañera bastante desagradable para un establecimiento así.

Custo elevado para as condições atuais do hotel

Equipe da recepção muito amigável, assim como a equipe do restaurante. Tivemos um problema na primeira noite, onde acordamos com formigas na cama. Após informar a recepção e solicitar a troca de quarto, nos mudaram para um outro em andar mais alto. Achei o custo elevado para as atuais condições do hotel. Piscina bem conservadas, mas o restante do hotel parece sem manutenção adequada, principalmente na área exterior (exceto vamos de golfe). A área do playground próximo aos campos de futebol está simplesmente abandonada e entregue ao mato. Fomos para esse estabelecimento buscando a brinquedoteca, mas essa só fica aberta quando as miniaturas estão presentes, e não há atividades entre 2pm e 5pm, não podendo usufruir do espaço. O que contribuiu para nossa boa avaliação, sem dúvida é a equipe de funcionários.

Das Hotel bietet ein reichhaltiges und vielseitiges Frühstücksangebot. Die Zimmer sind sauber und geräumig. Aber leider sehr hellhörig. Das Hotel liegt abgelegen. Ohne Auto ist ein Aufenthalt nicht zu empfehlen. Der Golfplatz und die Poolanlage waren sehr gepflegt. Die Umgebung außerhalb des Ressort verfällt leider. Es gibt zahlreiche kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten direkt vor dem Hotel.

Las instalaciones del hotel son Fantásticas, el único pero son precios excesivamente caros en comida y bebida.

Trato impecable

Muy amables, nos recomendaron en el restaurante visitas y restaurantes de las localidades cercanas. El trato de Manuel y el encargado de comedor, impecable!!!!!

Días de descanso en un entorno verde y tranquilo

Nos dieron la habitación en el de 5 estrellas aunque habíamos reservado en el de 4! La cama era muy cómoda. El desayuno muy bueno con varios tipos de zumos naturales etc! Está en en entorno verde muy bonito. El spa estuvo bien también aunque era pago y solo se podía estar 1 hora y cuarto. Nos gustó que había sauna. No nos gustó que se oía el ruido del corredor porque la puerta no era hermética. Se veía aún la luz. Raro en un buen hotel! La toallas no son muy buenas. En general pasamos muy bien.,

El entorno es precioso, pero está algo descuidado. La habitación era bonita, cómoda y amplia pero teníamos hormigas y arañas. En general, todo correcto excepto esto. Repetiríamos.

Una experiencia para repetir.

Son tres hoteles de la misma cadena, por lo que podías acceder a las piscinas de cualquiera de ellos. El spa muy bien y de un precio asequible. El desayuno buffet super bien y la comida de los restaurantes muy buena. Y el trato del personal inmejorable.

Great stay, poor dinner

The stay was really comfy. The staff of the reception was fantastic and we got great support! Regarding the dinner in the restaurant: I believe this is overpriced and the service was poor....

Hotel muy recomendable.

Buen servicio y tranquilidad. En el comedor el aire acondicionado a una temperatura muy baja y en la terraza hacía frio por la mañana y por la noche, por lo que tampoco era una buena opción. Comida de buena calidad pero muy repetitiva. La relacion calidad precio del spa francamente mala
