The room was clean with all the necessary equipments but small. The breakfast was excellent. The employees was very helpful. Only particularity: part of the wall next to the bed was opening directly in the bathroom. Did not like it.

The staff treats you like royalty and its almost as if you had a concierge for everything. The rooms are great and the location is perfect, in the middle of Madrid's luxury district.

Ideal location

I like the rooms and the ambiance of a small hotel but with solid and modern style furnitures. It was difficult to order something to the room, as the menu are digital only and I could not download the app, I went down to the bar, but nobody was around I left the bar and ask the front desk for room service Menu, but I referred back to download the app., or go to the bar which had no service, I felt like in an Louis de Funes movie 🎥 however then someone was ordered to help and all good 👍 but it took me as a customer line 20 minutes… Have printed menus in the room, please

I could spend hours writing accolades, from the second we walked in, to the everyday interactions with the staff, from the doormen, to the front desk staff, to the housekeepers, the Barcelo Empetatriz is EVERYTHING a 5-star hotel should strive for. Hotel is perfectly located for sightseeing and train station. Staff are very polite and helpful. Breakfast for the price is amazing we filled our bellies an didnt need to eat until dinner.

Terrible Service for People of Color

The service at the hotel was extremely poor. I was often times just starred at and ignored during my entire stay. They only treated a certain demographic with respect and care. When i complained to the staff how rude they were all they did was give me a free beverage for my inconvenience. The only nice person was the bartender from Venezuela.

Excellent hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and lunch in the restaurant. Reception staff was extremely helpful. And we were surprised to see a little cake left in our room as it was my wife’s birthday. Great surprise!

This is our second time at Barcelo Emperatriz. We had a wonderful experience like the first time. We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. The staff is amazingly attentive and kind. We were gifted a champagne bottle, chocolates and a Happy Anniversary card. The breakfast is delicious with a great array of options. The room is spacious and impecably clean. The bed is super comfortable. The shower head is great and love that there is also a bath tub. We will definitely stay here again in future visits to the beautiful city of Madrid! Thanks to all the staff that made our experience so amazing.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They addressed all of our needs and concerns. They were helpful with giving us ideas and directions. We enjoyed the complementary popcorn and bottles of water. The wait staff at the restaurant were friendly and the food was delicious. Housekeep kept oir rooms clean every day.

Excellent staff and neighborhood. The room is very spacious and comfortable, although it was a little dark. Overall a very good experience which I would repeat.

Highly recommend this hotel, service was excellent. Rooms very nice. Breakfast was also fabulous. Pool on roof was small but used it each day and never had a problem getting a sun chair. Quiet neighborhood, but walkable to some lovely boutiques.

Our stay at Barcelo Emperatriz was really nice. The staff and service was great and the hotel it self felt very safe a nice relaxing atmosphere. We hope to be back soon to continue exploring what Madrid/Spain has to offer.

Great beds, quiet rooms, super friendly staff

This property is very nice and a good location if you intend to do heavy shopping at flagship stores. The Salamanca area is beautiful but very far from the “in” areas if you intend to do a tapa crawl. The hotel was supposed to offer me a room upgrade through Expedia gold status and did not.
