West Yellowstone gem

Amazing stay ! Coming from Yellowstone it was perfect. Really felt like being in the west. Hospitality was awesome! Room was decent. Clean for sure- bathroom could have been better but did not make us regret our choice to stay here. Thank you

Beautiful place to stay!

What a wonderful spot! Beautiful views, we had a room that opened to a balcony. Kind, helpful staff that welcomed us and made us feel at home. They even have fire pits lit at night and smores. Beds were comfortable and it was quiet and remote. We will be back!

The perfect place to stay in Yellowstone!

Beautiful lodge and location.

Beautiful lodge and location. We stayed in the lodge not the cabins so I can’t speak to the cabins. The lodge was really nice and the room 6 had amazing views from the porch for sunrise. Firepit at night for s’mores and it was near zero light pollution so it was excellent for stargazing. Restaurant was short walk and that was also very good as well.

The check in was amazing, she gave us a tour and told us all about the property and the amenities offered. Such a nice place to stay. The on site restaurant was a perfect way to end our day.

Beautiful property.

This was convenient to the Yellowstone National Park area, just 10 minutes out of town. We liked the homey ranch setting and convenience of a restaurant on site. A tip for the staff would be to have fresh coffee/tea available to your guests earlier than 8 am and freshen the pot mid-morning. People want to get to the park as early as possible before the traffic and big crowds develop. Many of us early risers need that first cup before we develop a headache. It was a pretty painful wait the second morning to have a coffee pot out by 8. We had to leave and there was still no coffee by 8:10, so headache it was. ☹️ That simple service would be easy to provide.

Quiet setting, with a well-appointed cabin. Friendly staff

It's a great ranch style hotel with a awesome restaurant! It is very well located just outside West Yellowstone, which it was great for us that were avoiding tourists, but close enough to the park. I will definitely be staying there when I go back to Yellowstone. The cabin could be a little bit cleaner and the coffee maker should be upgraded, but nothing that would make me not coming back. Loved the staff, all great people!

Our stay at N bar & ranch was amazing. Cristian was an amazing host. Wonderful person and very knowledgeable about everything we asked. Always smiling and kind. All the stuff is very good. The place is very special building The room can be better. Not very comfortable. It’s time to renovate the part of the rooms. Then it will be excellent.

Beautiful setting, spacious cabin for our family of 4 with an awesome jetted tub for a long soak after being out walking all day in the park. Loved the complimentary s'mores and fire pits at night, as well as the fireplace in our cabin on a wet, chilly night. Coffee bar inside the lodge was amazing as well. Much appreciated a good cup of coffee in the morning before heading out.

Great staff and nice cabins

I love the set up with a bar and ranch. What i did not like was i want told that the bar was closed over a month before my stay and that the restaurant had a limited menu. It was overall an amazing place but when booking i would've liked to know what I'm actually getting. If i knew everything was closed and limited i would've just stayed in town.

A truly wonderful stay from start to finish. We stayed in the main building and had a wonderful and clean room with a balcony and wood burning fire place that really added to the experience. The entire facility is clearly well cared for a very clean. We loved the authentic experience with the lodge and ranch feel, but it was still very close to town and the West Yellowstone entrance. What really made our stay was the staff though. Everyone was extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Specifically Izzy and Ron were wonderful!! We cannot say enough about them and the experience this place provides. If you are considering. a trip to the area (which you should) then definitely stay here!

Yellowstone National Park

The Bar N Ranch was really very nice… the lodge was very comfortable but be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs.. the food in the restaurant was terrible so plan to eat elsewhere.

Outstanding adventure w/my girl! 06-2023

Such a wonderful time @ this ranch! The moment w/came in, "Rusty" helped us take up our luggage and sign us in! Showed us around and made us feel at home! He got us in the direction of the restaurant next door, because we were hungry! Excellent stay there for the next 3 days! Room was roomy, atmosphere was fabulous! Close to Yellowstone entrance so we could explore park during day, and come back to a wonderful lodge in the evening! Food was wonderful too!

Location is perfect, not too far from town but far enough to feel the quiet and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The place is nice and rustic, bed was very comfortable.

We absolutely love this place. It was perfect and very close to the west Yellowstone entrance. It is about five minutes from the town of West Yellowstone but very secluded quiet and absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very hospitable & we wish we would have stayed longer. There were bonfires and smores every night.

Relaxing

Beautiful facility with cozy rooms, books and games avx along with s'mores at night. Complimentary coffee was amazing. Staff very courteous and friendly.

The room and ranch was beautiful but we expected the dinner and bar to be open on our stay and there was no place to eat dinner or have a drink at the bar they were not open they had some canned beer and finger foods in a cooler but nothing to sit and eat we had to drive several miles to town any time we wanted anyrhing to eat. Place was beautiful staff was fantastic but wouldnt recommend staying during winter months...

We were looking for a place out in the boonies to get away from the busy life. This place certainly accommodated that. They did have wifi, staff was super friendly, overall great experience. My only complaint was the tv in our cabin was much smaller than we were used too, but we didn’t spend much time in front of the tv anyways so no big deal!

Bar N Ranch exceeded our expectations! The staff was wonderful and the property was awesome! We absolutely loved the old rustic charm this place had. I found myself pretty often at the hot chocolate/ coffee bar HUGE PLUS!!!

Lovely lodge outside of West Yellowstone. A terrific retreat away from the massive crowds within and around the park. The staff were polite and accommodating. The cabins are cozy. I thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace.

Nice area. I just wish basic maintenance was used. Nails exposed near pool area, weeds growing between ramp up to our cabin, tub’s plastic was cracked. The list grows.

The property and grounds are beautiful. There was so much we loved......fire pit in the evening, seeing fox and deer late at night, stargazing...wow!! The grab and go breakfast sacks were wonderful and great coffee. The cons were our room was advertised as a queen and twin bed. The picture included on hotels.com showed two matching beds just different sizes which is what we expected. We were surprised when we entered the room to find a queen bed which was comfy and a fold out cheap black futon with a one inch mattress with springs poking through and no linens for it. When we asked for linens we were given a couple of sheet and no blankets. It was hortible to sleep on and sloped down. Couple that with the very noisy happenings directly above our room on the third floor and there wasn't much sleeping happening. It sounded like they were moving furniture or something an could come through the ceiling. Plus we could hear a ton of their conversations. Lastly, the bathtub was so dirty....hair on the tile walls, in the tub, floor, and pinkish mold in the tub jets. We only took quick showers 2 of the 4 nights we were there since it grossed us out. I dont think we would ever stay there again. Given high price, our expectations are higher.

Very nice stay, a bit warm since there is no air conditioning. But with that said, it cooled at night and we had a screen door to our room. The Chef is an excellent cook. The Trout and Elk was delicious! Breakfast was supposed to be included, but they changed it to a breakfast bag to go. It would be nice if you wanted to get going early, a bag is great. But you should have a choice, hot breakfast or bag to go.

I think is a bit pricey for what you get. Cabin looks old, a kit to do smore’s is provided but the fire pit right outside our cabin was reserved, turns out it was not used! Bed was uncomfortable, ceiling fan was entangled. Location is great, check out is at 10AM, simple breakfast to go is provided. Bison burger was the highlight of this hotel!

This place is beautiful!! It's like a private ranch you are staying at. All the staff are super nice and friendly. They have various fire pits you can use around the property and s'more kits for your "camping" experience. As well as other activities that we did not have time to use and/or were closed due to covid. I cannot recommend this place enough for all you ranch lovers!

Great location, really enjoyed the decor and the room we stayed in. Bar N Restaurant was close by and the food was very good. Room walls aren’t very sound proof but the setting made it worth it.

The Bar N Ranch is a great place to visit. The location is wonderful to experience Yellowstone Park and all the surrounding area.

Just a few miles from the overly tourist town of West Yellowstone is this beautiful ranch. You are welcomed by a dirt road, stunning views, and a real working ranch where you yield to cows. The small touches such as a fireplace and welcome amenity really make this a special spot. We will definitely be coming back again.

Truly amazing

From the moment we arrived it was a great experience. Staff was awesome, gave us a tour of the place. Our room was just what we needed for peace and quiet. The lobby is filled with fireplace, games, music, books and puzzles. I would definitely stay again. Me and my wife had a great time, thank you

The property was a log home, decked out in a western vibe. It was very beautiful the setting was the mountains.

This place was great and felt like home. They had a kids area with games and books. A living room area to sit by the fire and have a drink. Made to order breakfast. And a whole lot more.

Cozy Ranch-style log cabins

Our stay was all and more than we expected. The quaint and authentic log cabin with wood burning fireplace along with the cozy bed, comforter and wood floors was wonderful! We loved the cozy dining area, the amazing staff and the gourmet food!

Staff was very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was wonderful. However..Expedia showed 69 pictures of the property when I was selecting accommodations. None of which included the small, older, very cramped cabin we received. It seems they presented pictures of the newer more spacious cabins and we felt that was not what we paid for.

This is a beautiful, unique property to stay at while visiting Yellowstone National Park and Big Sky, Montana. We were in the lodge room overlooking the pond and enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Staff was super accommodating and even provided a small coffee pot for our room. We loved watching the tree swallows swooping over the pond noshing on insects, a mother fox and her pups playing, otters in the pond, and of course the super cool cows hanging out by the road. A neat departure from the typical hotel room, plus the breakfast was delicious. Highly, highly recommend for a lodging experience you will not forget! We were only about 15 from the West gate of Yellowstone NP - close to the geysers and other geothermal features.

Loved the feeling of staying in the lodge having a wood burning fireplace in our room. The Embers restaurant was acceptable with limited but acceptable menu.

Beautiful property. The communication was a little slow and difficult to get ahold of prior to arriving. But we will definitely go back. Staff treated us like family. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

My girlfriend and I had a very memorable and enjoyable stay here. The wood burning fireplace in the private log cabin and personal hot tub next to the pond were wonderful. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well. Thanks!

A great place to stay!

We loved this property. It is minutes to Yellowstone West entrance and incredibly charming. There is a common area with a fireplace, games and space to hang out. The room was clean and the balcony off the room offered an incredible view of the stars.

Be aware the shower was made for someone who is under 5-5... my husband and I struggled since we are well over 6 feet tall. The fireplace didn’t work and the staff couldn’t fix it. The overall experience was relaxing. Beds are comfortable and breakfast was good.

Worth the short drive from W Yellowstone!

Such a welcoming and beautiful spot, we did not want to leave. Super friendly staff, we were in our own cabin with a great view of the lake complete with otters, amazing sunrises!

Hotel booked in July, received email in August saying no evening meals available during our stay. Had booked room in lodge with balcony views and jetted bath, shown instead to very small cabin away from lodge. No views no wifi, very small bathroom, half bath and cloakroom size sink. Furniture dusty, told not to open door from dusk because of bugs birds and bats. In comparison dining room and lounge in lodge very nice. No explanation offer over room change until challenged,said room was closed for season, and would say if we had been the first to book one of the lodge rooms, guest who arrived after us shown straight to lodge rooms. Didn't stay obviously! Staff friendly, helpful and polite and age|d to give us a full refund. Fortunately as is late September managed to find a room elsewhere.

Great Stay!

We stayed in the main lodge for 3 nights (Thurs-Sun) this past week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn't arrive until around 9PM our first night, but Debbie was there to greet us and check us in. She was incredibly friendly, gave us a tour of the breakfast area. main lobby area, and showed us to our room. the lobby area is adorable! Animals on the walls, fireplaces going, leather couches, and wood chairs - it had a very comfortable feel to it. There were games set up, a section of DVDs you can watch in your room, and large windows to look at the mountains. Our room was quaint (small), but more than enough for what we needed. It had a fireplace setup and an added bonus of access to a deck that overlooked the back of the ranch. Exactly what we were looking for to experience Yellowstone for the first time. The breakfast was ready to go by 7AM each morning - they have hot and cold options, overall it was okay but was included and got us to the park faster so we we're happy with it. Debbie had overheard us briefly mention this was a great place to celebrate our anniversary and the next day when we returned from the park she had put together a smores box and bottle of wine with a very sweet card inside. Our trip was already outstanding but that extra touch made it even better! The only thing I would say was not worth the money at this resort are the boxed lunches - they are a GREAT idea, you pre-order your lunch for the next day and they hav

Outstanding character property

Fantastic property and great location for visiting Yellowstone. Only issue was perhaps the noisy plumbing which got us up every morning. Breakfast excellent and great hosts

Beautiful location and facility

Friendly and helpful staff made our stay and breakfast/dinner great. Lodging and adjacent restaurant are beautifully decorated and grounds offer many activities. We will certainly be back in the near future.

Not what we expected. No elevator, no air conditioning. Maybe we didn't read the description fully. Very rustic as i guess you would expect a ranch. Restaurant was nice. Staff was very riendly. Very dusty and dark lobby area. Wood burning fireplace in room very nice. Just not what we expected for $300+ per night.

The real mountain feel!

We stayed at Bar N Ranch for 2 Nights as our base for our visit to Yellowstone. It was just perfect! The lobby/sitting room with several fireplaces was so inviting and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious and cozy and the bathroom even had a jetted spa tub. The views from our room were overlooking a lake and the mountains and we could watch the sunrise from the balcony. Breakfast was included and served in a separate building. It was buffet style and constantly refilled. We had dinner there one night too, which was absolutely delicious. The menu is limited but the food home cooked and fresh. We had the house smoked chicken with beans and baked potato, just perfect after a long day of driving and walking through Yellowstone. It's a very casual place, which we loved. We just wanted to sit down have a drink, eat and relax without having to get changed. We would definitely book Bar N Ranch again! So much better than staying in one of the motels in West Yellowstone.

LOVED Bar-n-Ranch and would go there again! LOVED the exclusivity of it, the FOOD, the surrounding area and the accomodating staff. Will be back for more!

A great find in West Yellowstone

My husband and I were traveling through Wyoming and Montana and booked Bar N Ranch for a couple of nights. Not having been in the area previously, we didn't know what to expect. The Bar N Ranch was fantastic. We were greeted by Sandy upon arrival and were provided with information about the property and the local area. The team at Bar N really went out of their way to make us feel at home. The room was small but nicely appointed and cozy . We had a little deck accessed through a separate door in the room. the views from just about every where on the property were breathtaking. The restaurant is in a separate building and the food was quite good. The trout dinner was amazing! Would definitely return.

Gorgeous!

Beautiful location! Beautiful, spacious and comfortable accommodations. Loved the in-room jacuzzi and working fireplace. Close to Yellowstone National Park without being in the more crowded and tourist-y center of West Yellowstone - Felt like we were staying in the park without the higher price-tag. We would totally go back either as a couple or with family.

It was an awesome place to stay, amazing views, staff was super friendly too. Very clean and private place to stay. Amazing place to go for a get away and really close to yellowstone national forest. Would definitely recommend.

Best stay in West Yellowstone

The manager was absolutely amazing, she actually took an interest in not only in our stay but our trip in general. She was extremely helpful when it came to giving us advice on West Yellowstone. She also gave me better directions on getting us to Colorado as well. The room we stayed in was exceptional and very cozy. The only thing, which my wife point out was that she wished there was a ceiling fan in the room. It was extremely clean and the place is nestled in a beautiful area. Me and my wife were very pleased about our stay.

The good, the bad and the ugly.

The good - Our tiny house accommodation was great. The mail lodge was bare and really run down. The restaurant food and service was poor. Wasn’t able to accommodate the breakfast crowd - ran out of essentials. The information on line did not represent the actual accommodations.

Nice but not sure if worth the price

The place was very nice. Cabin is cozy and neat. Breakfast was good. Nice to have a bar and restaurant on site. Pool and spa were great Not sure if it was worth the price though.

Very nice hotel

The lodge and restaurant was fantastic, and the cabin was also a good size and everything was in a great location. The only real downfall in the cabin was the lack of airflow. It isn't terrible because there's a couple of fans to work with, but it can get stuffy fast.

The lodge is absolutely beautiful, room was lovely. The room had a fireplace! The staff was helpful and friendly.

Rustic coziness at the lodge

Styled like a hunting lodge with a gnarled orange-stained wooden banister and skinned critters draped over the beams, this property is located within 20 minutes of the west entrance of Yellowstone but far enough from the West Yellowstone town centre to feel close to wilderness. We were greeted warmly by the host and personally shown to our room. The room is small but there are many mini luxuries to make it cozy: a real wood fireplace, quality robes, a large bar fridge, a comfy bed, dimmer switches for the overhead chandelier, and best of all, a semi-private balcony where you can go out and see the stars at night (a treat for me, a city dweller). The washroom has a jetted tub with essential oil-based high quality shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The stairs at the back of the property and in the lodge are somewhat steep, so take care while using them. The restaurant on the property (a short walk / drive away) is a bit disorganized - service is friendly but you have to go up to the front or the bar to order food or drinks, and sometimes even to get your order. The free breakfast, also at the restaurant, was tasty--scrambled eggs, pork and turkey sausages, Greek yogurt, berry & melon medley, waffles, bagels, orange juice and coffee. There are also private cabins, and is also the same property as Yellowstone Under Canvas, so the restaurant is a lot busier than the lodge would make it seem. We were enchanted by this place and would gladly stay again.

Stay here and relax

Temperatures never climbed out of the 50's and some drizzling rain. Stayed at the lodge- used the hot tub but the spa tub in the room didn't work. Very quiet. Great restaurant! Tons of food for breakfast and dinners were excellent. Super nice and accommodating staff. Big shout out to Alex. The tents looked really nice to but glad we chose the lodge since we had our own bathroom

Excellent location! There was a transition of ownership that happened and they are working on getting things straightened out. They staff could have been more helpful and kind. We stayed in a cabin that could have used some updating but we still enjoyed our 4 night stay.

Yellowstone Vacation

We stayed in one of the cabins and it was wonderful. The cabin was well furnished and extremely comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying there.

Rejuvenate and Refresh at Bar N Ranch

The lodge was very comfortable and authentic to the environment. We enjoyed our lodge room with the western ambience and the fireplace inside our room. The entire staff was very polite, friendly, and helpful. The whole experience was relaxing and rejuvenating. This western themed resort is located about seven miles from the town of Yellowstone, a great access point to the west entrance of the park.

Some great things, some not-so-great things

We arrived at the Bar N Ranch late in the evening. Even though we had gps and were looking pretty hard, we passed the entrance which was poorly lit, so we doubled back. The driveway to the lodge was bumpy and tooth-jarring and very dark. We finally got to the lodge which is really cute and western themed. As pine knots and antler chandeliers and rustic ambiance go, it was very well done. I could tell whoever built the lodge and restaurant had spared no expense in the design and construction. We were shown to our room by a nice young man. We asked him if the restaurant was open and he told us it was and we could walk to it if we wanted. It was pitch black outside, however, and we couldn't see the way to the restaurant in the dense darkness, so we drove. Like the road to the lodge, the road to the restaurant was very guttered and bumpy. In the morning we could see a path behind the lodge that we could have used to walk to the restaurant, but I'm not sure how we could be expected to find it in the dark without more assistance from the porter. Anyway, the food was excellent from entree to dessert. Absolutely top notch. My husband had elk and I had bison. The staff was a little strange, however. We had a nice young waitress who had minor altercations with a couple of foreign diners who she apparently thought were insolent. That made us feel like we had to smooth things over and be extra nice to her, but it made us uncomfortable. The bartender, also very nice and accommodating, looked like a Meatloaf (the singer) impersonator. He was slovenly and ate at the bar and yelled out instructions to the waitress occasionally and chided her in our hearing for being rude to the other diners. The meal was quite expensive, but worth it, and the restaurant was lovely and upscale, but the staff was a little odd. When we got back to our room we wanted to watch the news before we went to bed. After trying for some time to get the tv to work, we called the front desk. We were told—in a way that didn't make any sense—that the tv used to work but they had trouble, so there was no longer tv. Perhaps they turned it off off-season but failed to note that fact on their listing. I don't know for sure. We were told there were a number of dvds to watch. I went down to look, but they were all old movies I had seen a thousand times. In the morning we noted a dish tv satellite dish on the building outside our room. The bathroom floor had loose tiles. Overall a mixed review.

Rustic retreat

Remote, beautiful resort. Rustic cottage, comfortable beds. The only negative was the heaters were a bit creeky & kept us up.

Probably very nice 10 years ago

Confusion at check in on arrival date, tried to give us a small queen room, our reservation was for a king. Heat in room either had to be off or 82 degrees, extremely dark and walls paper thin. Heat in bathroom didn't work nor the jets in tub. Wouldn't go back here!!!!

family trip out west

Rented this as the most expensive stay on our trip and was disappointed. We stopped and purchased food on the way in only to learn there was no kitchen stoves. Only one TV in the largest cabin and nothing but DVD's for this. Hot tub not in good working order. I expected this to be nicer for the near $600.00 per night stay

Our room was amazing! Our bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and the bed was so comfortable! Definitely our best night of sleep from our entire trip! And the staff was so friendly, we were sad we'd only booked one night there.

Relaxation after a hard days hike!

Fantastic hidden gem of West Yellowstone. If you are looking to completely relax after a long day adventuring, and want to watch the sunset over the park in peace, this is a great spot. We have the large lodge, which was stunning and had a private hot tub. We also ate at the restaurant. Great food and great beers on offer. All the team were super friendly. This place is remote and not smack in the middle of town, which was perfect for us!
