Great stay and super close to fish markets

They were so good to send Jacopino for me at the airport for 25€ that was sooo well worth it. We found the place, I learned how to enter through 3 doors, then he dropped me t a nearby music festival and showed me how to get back. The place is clean, in an accessible area, my room was well appointed with AC and a hair dryer. Great choice if you don’t mind ducking your head in the attic room which was much larger than my $300 Rome room.

We expent too much time looking for the place because the address is very confuse in google maps.

Funky b and b, friendly service

Really good sized room in a great part of Catania. Good air con (very much needed as it was 30 degrees at night). Only downside is that it's on 2nd floor with no lift - not usually a problem but big case, high heat is a bad combo

Great stay in Catania

Lovely place near bus station and old town. We had a large double room with a private outside bathroom. Very clean. Breakfast was available in a local cafe. Staff was helpful amd nice.

Lots of stairs to climb and descend with heavy bags.not suitable for older people. But top position in city centre and quiet

You get what you pay for. Good location, breakfast which is rather poor, served in a cafe in front if bb. Neighbourhood leaves much to be desired but very ose to centre. Wouldn't recommend to solo female travellers.

Great Place/location to stay for a city break.

Stayed for 4 nights. Lovely room and great location just off main square. Enjoyed having breakfast (included) in café on Duma square. Room really nice and individual. Good value for price. Will stay again.

Good Location Near To Centre Of Town

The guest house was ok but not as funky as some of the pictures on their website show. We found the staff ok but not as friendly as other reviews implied. We had arranged a taxi from the airport via the guest house but it failed to show up, when we rang to ask where it was we were told that there was no driver available so had to get our own taxi - this was in fact the same price!. When arriving at guest house, manager apologised for lack of taxi and said it had been booked for the next day! Customer service in Catania certainly needs improvement, waiters, bar staff etc all seemed to be a bit nonchalant with their service and no one was very friendly apart from the one waitress in Cathedral Bar. Catania was ok but we wouldn't visit again

Fall short of expectation for a 3 star B & B

Alessandro is helpful and responsive. Location is convenient. The design of the B&B is interesting. However, need to improve cleanliness of beddings, towels are too rough & old, bathroom seat have cracks and air conditioner has water drippings, etc. Not usual for breakfast not included at B&B... as well.

Nice

We came for a short trip to Catania to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We spent 4 nights here. Excellent location so close to the centre. Large en suite room which was cleaned daily. Informative and friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.

Never coming back here

Did not enjoy this place! I left my wallet there and they insisted they didn't have it the next day! Also the bathroom is not clean and the bed is not comfortable!

Good base but could do with refreshing

Stayed here for a night as it's closely to airport and main piazza. Found that b&b was on 2nd floor with no lift so was a little problem carrying luggage up two flights of stairs. Created by a pleasant man and shown our room. Room was a good size but bedsheets were blue, and old. Dusty floor and mildew in old shower. I think the rooms could do with freshening up but for one night it was perfect for location as it was close to restaurants and bars. Plus good for taxi to airport which the b&b are happy to organise for you.

Can hear neighbours!

The room was very noisy. We could hear EVERYTHING that was happening in the room above!!

Gréât location, friendly staff

This place is very close to the market. Although the building is old but the room was very clean and convenient. The staff are very friendly.

Interesting

If you are seeking 5 star quality then this is not for you. Quirky, simple and interesting best describes this 'hotel'. Just off the main square but very close to the business end of Catania and the fish market. A positive is the breakfast at a local cafe...a great way to start the day.

Great stay, would definitely recommend.

Great stay. The owner was really helpful, gave us a map and made some excellent recommendations. He gave us vouchers for breakfast(coffee and croissant) and we had to go to cafe around the corner. The choice there was fantastic. We had the room with a separate bathroom but this was only for us and we could lock it, shower was good.

Perfect place for a solo traveler

Really nice little hotel. No need to order the breakfast through them as they just provide you with a coupon for the nearby café. So better to just explore the area and have your breakfast wherever you want to. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom updated and the building very quintessential Sicilian. There's also a nice terrace in the building to enjoy on a warm night.

Great experience

Such a good price and great location. Very friendly and welcoming service at front desk, who spoke English and gave us lots of information about local area. Very enjoyable stay.

2 nights stay in a cockloft room

need to climb 2 floor stairs to reach this hotel. we booked for a double room with balcony, but our room ia a penhouse wirh slanting short roof and no balcony at all.

A pleasant stay

Everything was ok. Clean, friendly staff. The location was great, it took only a few minutes to Piazzo Duomo. You can pay attention what the owner says(i think he was the owner). The restaurants he recommended were also great! The only problem was i could not acsess wi-fi in the room and there was a strange smell when you enter the room.

Wonderful little B&B just a stones throw from the city gates duomo and Via Etnea. A hub of activity with the fish market just a few hundres metres away , Wonderful to see the sights , sounds , smells of daily Sicilian life just on your doorstep. Great design, quirky little place, its wonderful to see what actually liee behind the grand steel street doors. Great prise , great owners , very very helpful . There have been 1 or 2 gripes about the coffee / croissant breakfast just around the corner at the , but for me this is a perfect breakast sat on the pavement outside the Etoile D'or just watching the world go by

Great Design Budget B&B

Overall, the hotel was great. Really appreciated all the design touches. However, wasn't satisfied with my particular room. Felt more like a hostel in it.

Great Location, Uncomfortable Beds

This hotel had Pros and Cons. Pros: Great location close to shops, restaurants, a bus station (about 2 stops from central station), a small park and one of the shopping streets. Breakfast is included in the room price but not provided by the hotel: You get a voucher and get it from a nearby restaurant. I've seen reviews where people complain about it but its actually quiet good - coffee (espresso, cappuccino or Americano) and a pastry (there are 5 or 6 to choose from). For an extra 50c we chose from a different range of pastries ( a yummy one with sausage, ham and cheese in it). What's even better, was that you could get this at any time of the day as this place is open 24 hours. A major positive for me was the air conditioning in the room - it was brilliant - select turbo and the room is nicely chilled. The heat was unreal (end of june) so being Irish with pasty white skin incapable of tolerating this heat, I needed good air conditioning and got it with the rooms in this hotel. HOWEVER, there were some cons... there were ants in the bathroom (the ant bait station behind the toilet didn't seem to deter them!), the beds were ridiculously small (I'm not a big person) and very uncomfortable. Prepare to need to get out of the bed to turn over or else fall out of it.

What a bargain!

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance from great bars, restaurants and sights. Around the corner from the buzzing fish market, which is a great place to eat but a little difficult walking through on a hangover! The hotel itself is amazing value for money. Very quirky art all around, friendly staff and clean. The café where breakfast is served provides the most delicious pastries and even friendlier staff.

Breath of fresh air ..

Lovely room, lots of space. Interesting design/art. Right in the centre and near the fish market. Only issue for some might be no lift but the staff will help with your bags. V helpful friendly staff who want you to enjoy the city. Breath of fresh air from the rest of our experiences in Sicily (which sadly was : generally unfriendly service aimed at extracting as much money as possible out of tourists with as little effort as possible in terms of service or quality).

Funky B&B near the Fish Market and Piazza Duomo

The B&B is located on the 3rd floor of a very conveniently located apt. building. There is a common room with a fridge and drinks payable on an honor system. Key is provided for adjacent bathroom. Funky design throughout. It's a few hundred yards from the very active fish market and the Piazza Duomo. Shopping is easy both in the Via Aetnea and the flea markets which are a few minutes walk away. The bus station and train station are also in walking distance, as is the King Cine (Italian language films only). Breakfast coupon is given for the nearby Etoile de Oro Cafe. Location is fantastic, staff very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic B&B in the middle of the city center

The rooms were very comfortable, clean and cool. The staff was really helpful and positive. Bad B&B is right next to the bus station and the elephant square, making it very practical to stay here. The breakfast was a coffee and a pastry in a café near by. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! :)

Funky B&B in the centre of Catania

Cool and quirky B&B, the design of the large rooms was fun and different and I really liked the design. Very centrally located in Catania so easy to access the main areas. The staff were really helpful. The only down side is the area feels a little run down but I think we were spoilt by other places in Sicily and this is all just part of being situated in a central location in a larger city.

Quality in prime location

The hotel is located to all the main attractions, shopping and dining. Parking is available on the street outside of the hotel. Pietro welcomed us and was so kind. He made sure we knew where to go for dinner etc and was not hesitant to provide us with exciting recommendation. The hotel itself is very cozy, clean and comfortable. If you want convenience and a wonderful experience, you should book your stay here!

Bad - bed & Breakfast in Catania

Bad - bed & Breakfast in Catania is more to be considered a hostel. This is a good place to stay for back-packers or the very economic tourist. In the heart of Catania by the fish market and the harbour. Calm hostel with large rooms, but not so much design. Nice staff. Breakfast in a bar at the amazing fish market.

The room was ok. The area is not so nice, but is a great location within the city. The room was clean and the people help us all the time. The breakfast is in a caffee out of the hotel.

Our stay at B.A.D. was delightful-- offering an immersion into the life of Catania, the fish market and fruit and vegetable vendors, with excellent proximity to the piazza, cafes, tourist information and many aspects of the wonderful life of this city. Our only regret was not booking the apartment so that we could cook a little ourselves. Thank you Alessandro and staff for your guidance, and for helping to make our first trip to Sicily a true pleasure.

B.A.D. Catania - B&B

Pluses: - Great location (2 mins from Piazza Duomo) - Person in charge was very nice and helpful. - Right for the price. Negatives: - Our room did not have a loo. It was outside the room and only accessible by us with a key, but was not happy with that. Maybe they should specify this in the website. - Our room opened into a nearby building which had a dog which barked non-stop and a baby that cried along! - The B&B is not standalone - it occupies the 2nd and 3rd floors of a (slightly dodgy) residential building. - There is no laundry facility. - The breakfast is a coupon for a croissant & coffee at a nearby cafe. Despite the negatives its not a bad place to stay (despite the name ;-)) but do ensure you get a room with a loo attached and away from the noisy neighbours.

Great location--but beware there is no elevator to the hostel!

Had to climb 2 flights of stairs with a TON of luggage since there is NO elevator in the building which was reallllly annoying but besides that the room was great, the location was great, and the wifi actually worked! We didnt have trouble with parking but i could see it being a problem if youre there on a day other than sunday so watch out for that if you have a car

Bad Bed and Breakfast

No one available after check in. Taxi cost twice as much as quoted. Breakfast was in another building but due to the unsafe area in Catania at 5 am we were unable to use our coupons. Too many flights of stairs with no assistance. Courtyard was dark and unsafe. One had to hold the door open to the street to put the keys back in the hotel. I guess that old saying, "you get what y ou pay for" stands true.

Bad B&B Catania - Would definitely recommend

I would definitely recommend this B&B. The rates are extremely reasonable and it's very easy to get to from the Airport in Catania. The directions on the website are very clear and specific. The room itself was quirky, clean and comfortable. The owners who greeted us were exceptionally helpful in directing us to all the good things to see and great places to eat around the city. In terms of location within the city, it is a few steps away from the pescheria (the famous fish market), but don't worry, there is no smell nearby!!! Breakfast was at a nearby bar, and consisted of a coffee and a pastry. All in all, I have no complaints and wouldn't hesitate for a second to stay here again.

Nice and cozy place

For sure I can recommend this place. A good location close the Catania 's attractions. A simple breakfast just a sandwich and a coffee in a nearby bar. But that place gives you really the Italian feeling. The room was spacious and light. And the owners are friendly and helpful people.

Bad - Bed & Breakfast - Catania

I would highly recommend this B&B. It is very close to the City Center - just out past the famous fish market. The interior design is great and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely the place to stay in Catania.

The BAD Catania - fabulous, artsy, welcoming

The BAD is excellent! Giulia welcomed us and was very kind, as we were jet lagged and a little disoriented. The room we had looked just like the pictures, and it was a very arty space. The BAD itself is located in a building right near the Piazza, several flights up the stairs (but they'll help you w/ your luggage). Breakfast is at a local cafe nearby, where you'll have delicious cappuccino and croissant. The room is very dark (perfect for sleeping in). And Christina and Alessandro gave very helpful directions and advice for enjoying Catania. We would definitely stay here again.

Struttura in zona comoda e centrale e host accogliente senza essere invasivo. Colazione in struttura con annesso terrazzino esposto alle prime luci del sole (incantevole). Struttura non adatta ad anziano o disabili per le tante scale da fare. No ascensore. Lenzuola pulite ma la pulizia della stanza e del bagno andrebbe migliorata. Montare una zanzariera nella finestrella del bagno che rimane sempre aperta per arieggiare sarebbe utile. Nel complesso una struttura comoda nella quale non manca nulla.

Esta muy bien ubicado, cerca del propio centro y paradas de autobus. Todo muy limpio y cuidado.

Struttura vicinissima al centro, stanza pulita e con dettagli originali

Personal ist super nett und gut erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind durch einen Innenhof erreichbar. Das Zimmer ist sehr sauber, zweckmäßig eingerichtet, aber hat alles was man braucht. Ausser einen Kühlschrank. Dafür einen Safe. Bis zum Zimmer ist es relativ ein Irrgarten, aber am zweiten Tag hatten wir gefunden wo was ist. Zum Frühstück hat es Zwieback, Croissants, Konfitüre, Butter, Nutella, Joghurt und Säfte. Wasser, Kaffee und Tee sind auch vorhanden. Klimaanlage ist etwas veraltet und deshalb etwas laut und kühlt gerade so genügend. Das Zimmer (Nr. 9) war zuoberst und hatte Dachschrägen, deshalb empfehle ich, falls jemand grösser als 1.65m ist vorher anzugeben. Im Badezimmer ist dies kein Problem. Die Lage ist super: 5 Gehminuten bis zur Piazza del Duomo und 2min bis zum Pescheria-Markt. Auch die Busstation und McDonalds sind in 4 Minuten erreichbar. Ein Mitarbeiter gibt einem Tipps (inkl. Straßenkarte) und Empfehlungen, was man in Catania machen kann oder wo das Essen gut ist. Vielen herzlichen Dank für alles.

Muy aceptable

El anfitrión muy atento. Llegamos agotados a 43 grados, nos ofreció agua fresca y nos subió las maletas. Ubicación excelente. A 2 minutos de la plaza del Duomo y de todo el centro histórico.

Para una o dos noches

Alojamiento centrico y bien comunicado. Personal servucial y agradable. Recomendable para una estancia corta.

Acomodação moderna básica e muito confortável.

Acomodação superior ao esperado. Confortável e a acolhida Alessandro muito atencioso e a cozinha muito limpa e organizada, clara, com o necessário. Não faltou nada. Eu voltaria.

Hotel un peu décevant, propose un standing élevé sur internet, et en fait c est assez décevant.

L’hôtel est très bien situé. L’hôte a été très accueillant et nous a donné d’excellente recommandations. Notre expérience a été terni par une chambre n’ayant AUCUNE insonorité. Nous avons entendu le voisin d’en haut tapocher aux petites heures du matin, puis ensuite la femme de chambre avec un homme se crier après dans le couloir pendant 20 minutes et cela nous donnait l’impression qu’ils étaient à côté de nous tellement que le son porte. C’est dommage. L’éclairage des chambres n’est pas chaleureux non plus et la douche refoule. Je recommande tout de même pour notre hôte super sympa et l’emplacement stratégique, mais pour voyageur avisés!

Ubicación y espacio excelente

It was okaaay.

Receptionist/rengøring kunne ikke forstå engelsk. Morgenmaden stod på værelset, men ingen beskrivelse af hvor man kan få kaffe eller juice til. Morgenmad bestod af brød i plastik der havde stået fra indtjekning. Værelset var flot og stort. Lige ud til tagteresse. Lækker stor seng og flot badeværelse. Man skal dog tage det i betragtning at det var ved taget og min partner ikke kunne stå meget oprejst. Ingen elevator, eller hjælp til baggage.

Super placering og pengene værd

Dejligt lokalt placeret hotel, som er pengene værd. Lige ved fiskemarkedet, men forvent et sted at overnatte, ikke et luksushotel

The bedding was not clean and my wife ended up getting a bunch of bug bites. Also, the room was a bit cold and the heater did not work. However, the location was nice and the staff was friendly.

Sehr schön, sehr originell. Sehr netter Gastgeber. Man fühlt sich eher wie in einer stylischen Studentenwohnung als einer Pension. Einen Katzensprung vom Zentrum entfernt.

Fint och trevligt italienskt spartanskt B&B

Trevligt bemötande och hjälpsam informativ personal. Många branta trappor upp till det svala rummet. Frukost i söt italiensk stil på café.

入り口が分かりにくいが慣れると問題ない。テレビが古く映りが良くない。アリバスの乗り場や(空港へのアクセス)鮮魚市場、中心部へも徒歩５分ぐらいでロケーションは最高だった。5泊したが次回はもう少しゆっくり滞在してカターニアを楽しみみたい。

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr Zentral. Frühstück bei einer sehr schönen Bar in der Nähe zur Unterkunft (Coupon).
