It’s very clean. Staff was extremely nice. The views. Restaurant by the beach.
Like most things in the PI it's worn-out fast. Toilet issues - "international buffet" is really just a Filipino buffet with eggs for the Westerners. But the asset Aureo has is their pool. They really don't hype it enough. Strong current pushes all swimmers along in a circle around the pool area. TERRIFIC therapy for all bodies. Never seen a pool like it. Great use of the limited space. Staff is very kind and wiling to help.
Great but there’s still room for improvement.
Very slow check in, room was aged and dusty, wall mounted TV at an unwatchable angle, hotel far from beach, long walk around property to pool and restaurant, countless mosquitoes devoured us through the night, slow check out.
Clean and well maintained facilities. Courteous staff.
Unsafe and Unclean
We originally booked for a four night stay but only stayed one night. As two young female travellers, we felt really unsafe in the resort and had to cut our trip short. This was largely due to the surrounding area, the openness of the resort and a couple of comments made to us by staff. The hotel itself has good facilities but was not clean at all. Our room was full of mold and our socks were filthy after walking around the room for a minute. The staff were approachable, however, we had a lot of trouble organising a shuttle bus with them and they tried to charge us for one of the journeys twice. What we experienced of the food was good but does not justify staying here.
Would highly recommend.
Clean, good food.enough pool to accommodate a big crowd.
Gets a bit crowded for holidays and peak season. Lots of swimming pool options. A bit pricey on the food, mediocre breakfast buffet. Does not have a private beach front. The upside is rooms are clean, spacious and has a patio. Ac is cold even on summertime hot weather. Had fun on the lazy river pool. Family and pet friendly resort, but not for a couple looking for a peace and quiet time.
Quiet
It’s nice place
Absolutely gorgeous, one of the most beautiful places I stayed at throughout our trip in the Philippines. Will absolutely return with my kids. I loved how family-friendly the resort was and the rooms were lovely. Highly recommend.
Good
We didn't sleep all night there's screaming and yelling outside our room like bunch of guys talking yelling laughing like they are drunk right below our room this happened after midnight . No security to stop them. At 6 AM 3 or 4 guys who are also guest in the hotel keep ringing the doorbell of our room just for fun. My husband opened the door and questioned them why they keep ringing the doorbell and they started pointing fingers. I called the management and reported this incident and they said it's people in the neighborhood making noise and the guys who keeps ringing the doorbell made a mistake which room to go meet their friends. And management said their CCTV isn't working so they can't monitor this type of disturbance. Bedsheets and towels are smelly as well as the room. The location seems sketchy.
It was good. Very nice staff. I just recommend to change their towels. They’re old and others are ripped.
People are nice and friendly I can recommend it to my colleagues
Great place
We had a great stay in Aureo. The resort's amenities and the pools were highly-maintained. Beach area was walkable and kept clean. Too bad I didn't get to try their spa. And awesome customer service too from all their staff. I definitely would recommend and be back at this place.
So-so! Hit and Miss Resort
Service staff were excellent especially at the Coast restaurant, folks at the front desk were not particularly warm, but was transactional. Food quality in both restaurants were great. Shame that there was not enough sun beds by the beach & it was not a private resort beach. The room was not particularly clean especially the bathroom, lighting was poor but the pressure and temperature of the shower was good. Overall, service by the folks at Coast makes the experience pleasant! Thanks guys, keep it up.
Paid certain amount for the breakfast. Almost the same price for a dinner with a fancy 5 start hotel in Manila. I don’t think it is worth paying for.
It was a nightmare staying in this resort. We came Here to experience what a Resort is in the Philippines but we did not get to feel that because of the Resort Staff did not deliver great customer service. Most of them were even mean and rude in dealing with the guest. Especially the Security Guards although they scattered everywhere but they are more concern about catching guests visitors and get them fined if ever they feel like instead of securing the place and promoting safety. One example my niece son who is a registered guest suddenly jumped in the moving pool and she jumped in to rescue her son from drowning because there was no lifeguard around to help and they charged her 1850 pesos for rescuing here son who was about to fall. They security was even more concerned on charging her than helping her to rescue her son from drowning
Good value for money
The staff were well trained and very polite and helpful. Our room was spacious. A little “tired” but nevertheless comfortable and with a small kitchenette. Breakfast was varied but catered more to the Philippine palate. There was plenty of fresh fruit and omelettes were cooked on order. The best part of the resort were the pools which were suited to different age groups, from toddlers to the elderly. For a reasonably priced resort I would recommend Aureo La Union
Best place for staycation!
Great experience staying at the hotel. Staff was veey friendly and accomodating. There were 2 restaurants on-site and their food was delicious with big servings. The beach was clean with clear waters. Will definitely go back.
If you come to enjoy the beach this can be a good place to go. Lots of greenery around the property. Staff were very courteous and very helpful they greeted you when they meet you around. But there are things that needed to be improved like when you come with a car which most guests are , they should have a parking permit indicating the dates or days you are checked in. And, this should be shown to the security in the guard post every time you get in and out of the resort as you are being asked every entry and exit and it can be cumbersome being asked all the time if you are a guest or not or they asked you if you are checking out and reminding them again and again about the day you are checked in and which room you are staying. We did not appreciate and absolutely we were disappointed when we checked out the staff from the front desk asked us to open our luggages to look for a face towel. We did not even realize nor count how many towels they replenished our room. If ever we must have been careful and cognizant on how many towels they provided us everyday. Sometimes the person who Cleaned our room gave us one face towel not 2. We got the point but asking the guests to get there luggages opened up for a face towel is very disappointing and very offensive. If we knew we could have been very careful on this matter and get those towels accounted for everyday until we checked out. It took them 30 minutes to resolve this issue. We were Very sad and disappointed checking out.
We stayed a week in this resort. Check in process was slow due to computer glitched from the check in counter. The room is clean. The toilet and the shower room are separated. There is a mini fridge inside the room. Enough drawers and storage. Bed is comfy. Sheets looked crisp and clean. But bath towels are quite small. There is in room safety box. The property has plenty of vegetation/trees and plants it looks very eco friendly. Very closed to the beach. Salt and Sea Restaurant foods are okay, service was hit or miss kind of thing. Breakfast not many options to choose from. We did not eat the last three days of our stay. We just got tired with the food not many options for vegetarians. But service was good, staff were attentive. Overall it would be an okay stay, however there were so many checks whether we were checked- in guests almost every security asked us everyday. Especially when you go in and out of the property they asked you again at the guard post if we were a guests or not. Even when we were sitting by the beach at night time they still come to ask us if we are guests. The worse thing they call your room every 10 pm asking how many people are in the room and in the morning they call you again at 0900 am from the breakfast restaurant reminding us if we are coming for breakfast, it can be very disturbing. The worst thing that happened to us upon check out they wanted to open our luggages to look for a face towel. We felt very disappointed and sad.
Nice and quiet
Experience is superb.. Highly recommended for family. However I have a concern with the rates published. Its a bit frustrating coz there's a hidden charge its not what is published in the website.
Friendly staff
The food at the restaurant was sub par,
Everything was great. But the coffee for the morning breakfast buffet need improvement.
Cool place and location, But the staff are not friendly
Overall is a good place for vacation
Beautiful beach, crystal clear warm water nice clean property with lots of green space unfortunately the big pool (the loop) was closed for repair.
Valentine's Dinner at Aureo La Union
The room was under construction, full of dust, smell, and debris. The valentine's dinner was awful and very expensive, the beef tenderloin was served cold, you couldn't slice it with the knife. Needless to say, I returned it to the manager and lecture him how to serve Steak. The beach was wonderful to look at, but dog poop was around and we found two broken bottles of alcohol. The band that performed is awful. So many other talents here.
It’s a nice place the only issue that we encountered was the water interruption at night wherein we waited for more than 30 mins until the supply resumed. The breakfast buffet selection is limited and for the price of the hotel you would expect more choices to be offered.
The property is on the sand, but not the clear ocean water like boracay.
I really like my stay at Aureo. Both the beach view, garden view and pool view are gorgeous. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will definitely do it again.
We liked the location, next to the beach and our room next to the pool.
There should be a free shuttle as there’s no taxi when going to town.
I recommend for people to stay in this resort when in the area: good food, great views, nice pools and beach, accommodating & attentive staff & comfortable rooms.
Reception staff are not very informative, not accomodating, not very friendly Rest of the staff are really good
Not so good
Nice beachfront. Nice pool. We liked the breakfast.
Captivating Sunset at Aureo
Great beach front and well maintained relaxing and comfortable environment. Perfect view of the sunset as you wade by the sea with its gradual incline gentle waves and soft comforting sand. Most precious gem are the staff particularly of housekeeping and security...I unknowingly left my cellphone by the lounge chairs at d beach and it was safely returned to me! Needs to improve on food service though as kitchen closes way too early at 9:30pm hence no warm food service for those who lost track of time because pf the captivating West Philippine Sea.
Not well manage resort hotel
Staff service quality was not consistent Remote location with lack of transportation provide by hotel Not a resort hotel with lack of basic facilities eg Gym, Spa, Jacuzzi, game room
I like the Beach, the housekeeping needs Improvement, and dining place needs to screened because of flies flying every where specially when you are eating.
The resort is not yet 100% done yet it is beautiful. My friend and I enjoyed our stay, with the good view of the beach, garden and pool, the food is okay im still looking for the taste of filipino food. Less travelers probably because its new which is okay for me because u could really enjoy. Everything is highly maintained. Overall I highly recommend Aureo and we’ll surely come back.
Good
We enjoyed our stay because the hotel staffs were all helpful and courteous. The resort is in good condition and we did enjoy the pool. Our booking includes breakfast too which for me is just ok and how i wish they could have served more fruits. Otherwise this resort is a great place to stay in La Union.
The service would have been exceptional except for the fact that when I asked for an iron, I was told to wait and they never delivered. The breakfast buffet was also not up to for a resort in this price range. More food selections should be provided. But other than that, I had a great experience in this hotel.

Property and resort is great but their policy and mabagemdd we Mt is terrible. For the price we paid for the family villas we should get more towels and ice. Simple request to get a bucket of ice for our rooms they said the machine broken there is no ice. But there were giving ice in the restaurant s. We spent a lot for dinner and gave a tip but they told us there no ice. When I complained to front desk about the ice and towels. First she said only get 1 towel per person per day. But we swam since the highlight of the resort are the pool and beaches. Ofcourse your always wet. You need more than one towel. I asked them why they are cheating out on the ice and towels? Front desk answered because guest are stealing the towels. So is that our problem? We paid for the nightly rate and that’s why they held back 2000 pesos for incidentals. For the ice they said since we ate at the restaurant and spent our dinner they will give a bucket of ice. I never heard such rules and policy. I think they should change their policy and the management. Their policy leaves a bad taste on their guest. All our friends and families asked about the resort and all we said told them about their bad policy and terrible management . We don’t recommend this resort. . If your going make sure you bring your own towels and ice.
