I enjoyed my one night stay. The mattress was very good. Keep up the good work.
Disgusted by fellow travellers who I had the misfortune to share a room with. Luckily only for one night. They showed no thought for anyone but themselves. I just don’t understand the lack of respect. Nightime but Phone calls with the speakerphone on, bright screens with the white light that hurts your eyes. Ipad with tv show playing for hours midnight and I could still hear past 3am. coming in after 11 and turning the main lights because why shouldn't they? Followed by loud grabbing and moving of bags. Never-mind most others are trying to settle down- after a fashion. Is this what I get for being so cheap? I suppose so. People that don't care. Just selfish. I wanted to point out basic etiquette, but I would've been arguing with the whole room. Was I in the wrong place? People weren't all young just totally thoughtless. Plus not very clean bathroom, hairs everywhere. Not worth the unpleasant experience. It was horrendous and squalid. Never again. Just have some respect for others. The outside looks good
Good location, amazing staff but it’s not clean at all
A very charming location, with amazing staff! Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone who wishes to explore London in a safe, friendly and welcoming environment!
Personal Experience
Everything was great! Apart from bathroom could have been cleaner as well as it was absolutely horrible smell, I opened windows for couple of hours but still didnt sort the problem. I also woke up because my neighbor was puking in the bathroom but its not your fault. The staff was very friendly and accommodating which mattered the most! The kitchen area was clean. Very peaceful environment which I loved. Definitely would recommend to stay over
The south Kensington area.Diplomat hub.clean.Easy access to tube stations.Museums close by.
The situation of the staircase
This Hostel have a set o stairs to get to your room. It's an old building and they didn't renew anything since the 90s. You walk until the top than you walk all the way down... The breakfast it's nothing special and they will get your money if you don't stay on their place
Value against money , great location
The accommodation was really great for someone travelling solo, the staff was really friendly and helpful ! Got to meet alot of amazing people.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Check in and check out were smooth. Property does NOT have an elevator which was an issue as I had a huge suitcase. Rooms also do not have hair dryers and towels included in the stay. Instead you must rent which is quite ridiculous. I understand this is to prevent theft but there are other ways around this. Please consider them. Area is near Gloucester Road tube station (10min walk) and right outside Hyde Park.
It's very well located, the rook size is fine but it was very dirty! The room was probably not cleaned before my arrival and there was old dust everywhere. The floor had hair from previous guests and the bathroom was not properly cleaned since a long time. There was no toilet paper and for towels you need to pay £ 3,50 even booking a twin room.
Having the kitchen I can cook in hostel feel like home
Staff were very friendly and location was great!
I enjoyed my stay.
nothing
No towels. Watered down and useless soap and conditioner. Fan was great Mattresses not so good Good location but too far from the airport
The place is noisy and the people who live there do not respect those who are sleeping
Nice place
Only one night. Very cheap for London
The place was nice and cheap, staff was really friendly.
Cleanliness
We stayed here for a concert at Royal Albert Hall, the location was fantastic! Things that could use improvement:cleanliness of the showers, beds were quite uncomfortable, no washcloths, hand towels, or extra towels at all, and noise was very high when people are arriving at 3 AM after being out in the city, would recommend earplugs.
It says adult-only hostel. But actually, when I stayed there, I encountered kids group...
Very friendly Staff. Very good location. Will definetly come back :)
Very nice for short stays
For overnight stays it's ok
Really satisfied overall
Great for going to Kensington Gardens, harrods high Street and the Royal Albert is literally behind this hostel.
Friendly staff
Was there for exactly 8hrs, just to sleep. But nice vibe and clean place.
Disappointing Experience
I recently stayed at the Astor Hyde Park Hostel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the very first day, I reported a non-functional USB port in my bed, requesting either a repair or a change of bed. Despite assurances that it would be addressed the next day, the issue persisted throughout my stay. Furthermore, I was dismayed to find that the hostel did not enforce basic rules such as no food or smoking in the rooms. As an asthmatic individual, this negligence significantly impacted my comfort and well-being during my stay. Overall, the unfulfilled promises of maintenance and the disregard for essential rules made my time at Astor Hyde Park Hostel less than enjoyable.
Staff is lovely. Location very convenient for Royal Albert Hall or museums.
Very friendly staff, helpful and good place to stay for a stop over - one night
Overall, this is a wonderful hostel for a trip to London. It's close to buses/tube, but you can also walk about as far as Covent Market or Buckingham Palace/Westminster Abbey within an hour. The staff are wonderful as is the vibe among guests. Great for socializing, especially in the beautiful common areas or often buzzing kitchen. The rooms were OK – lacked privacy curtains and the in-room shower was a bit icky (the single floor bathroom was much nicer on the fourth floor). There's no elevator, so be prepared to get your steps in. No AC either, but at least they have fans. The area itself is safe, too!
Nice hostel, would stay here again
Nice hostel, friendly staff, would stay here again
Happy Hostel
Hostels have changed a bit since I last stayed in one 25 years ago! I booked it before I realised it was for 18-30 year olds but they didn't recoil in horror at our ages (44) when we checked in luckily! We stayed in room 4, pne set of bunk beds with an en suite and it suited us perfectly.
Would not recommend
Not really sure why this hostel has good reviews, it is mediocre at best...there are no proper common areas, the ensuites bathroom are gross and aren't cleaned daily, and some of the front desk team had a terrible attitude.
Friendly staff
Id been sick and i was having a rough time, but the staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome, I really appreciated it.
Perfect for short stay in London.
Both rooms and facilities were really hot and poorly ventilated. Facilities were clean but no lift. Staff were friendly and great area of London to be in.
No, a big no
Terrible. I now know that adults doesn’t mean mature. People who stayed here are inconsiderate to others as it was VERY noisy at night! Walls aren’t soundproof, that’s a big lie. I could hear a male who was talking till 2am! The receptionist was very quiet, I couldn’t hear a word, however there was a nice person in the reception when I checked out. Very friendly and helpful
The duvet was yellow. There were only two tiny windows that could be opened in a room with at least 12 people, it smelled like feet.
The building was so clean. All the rooms are cleaned every day. All the rooms have a bathroom, which is super clean, with a toilet. All the staff members were helpfull, kind, friendly and always super respectfull. There is a cinema in one of the living rooms and a piano. Siissi played excellent musique! Clari was putting on nice musique and was always checkin on the kitchen to be sure everything stayed clean. Sara helped me to find a room and be sure I have safe trip. Jeff was caring and doing a very good reception for the checkin. Rapha welcomed me during the night when I was coming back. Always made me fell safe. Basicaly, the whole journey in the hostel felt amazing because of the atmosphere, the safe neighborehood and the nice staff. Really recommed this hostel that is worth a 4 stars hotel.
Great value. Clean, everything worked properly. Simple lodgings but that’s all I needed. Very helpful front desk staff. On Queens Gate which is a safe, quiet area. Walk to the South Kensington tube in a few minutes.
Wouldn't recommend this hostel.
Staff is nice and located is great, but the room is very small for 6 people and its a very tight space. Pillow and bed are very uncomfortable and the shower is terrible. Another thing is that this hostel doesn't have an elevator and i had to carry my suitcase and walk up 4 floors. Definitely not a pleasant experience here.
Good.
Great Hostel!
I had a great stay at the hostel. It's in an excellent location near Hyde Park. The place was clean and the staff was very helpful.
