An excellent hotel in every way.
Great stay!
Our stay was amazing and the location of this hotel is perfect for seeing the old Town of Hoi An. The service was great! Would highly recommend!
Perfect location on the river and very close to the old town center
Great experience
Excellent location. Great staff
A great old style property just outside the old town but within 5 minutes walking. The grounds are lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. My favourite place to stay in Hoi An
Amazing place!
Wonderful colonial era building with atmosphere. Good location and excellent staff.
The hotel was located perfectly so you could walk everywhere. The staff were very attentive. Breakfast options were fantastic too!
Ideal location, extremely kind staff, very pleasant stay.
Best option in Hỏi An!
This property was just spectacular. The rooms were beautiful and had everything you could possibly need. We loved the little daybeds on the front balcony, a perfect nook to read a book. The pool area was also perfect for relaxing after a long day in the sun. We also ate at both of the restaurants, and found the food to be excellent. And the location is just ideal, far enough out of town to be away from all the noise, yet a quick bike ride into the heart of all the action.
This property is unique in that it has beautiful grounds and large rooms, a superb location, and exceptional dining including great vegan options. The staff and management are very helpful. You will not regret staying here.
Superb hospitality and location. The staff are friendly, was proactive about our needs but not intrusive
Great hotel with wonderful staff. Definitely recommend this hotel with great views of the river.
Location location location
This is an old and atmospheric hotel just a 6 minute walk to the old town of Hoi An. Very comfortable but you are really paying for the convenience. Rather better to stay here than in one of the new, huge hotels that dominate the coast from Da Nang south to Hoi An with shuttle buses etc etc. The road into town has undergone a facelift recently with some nice restaurants, bars and massage shops. My wife and I particularly liked the massage place directly opposite the hotel - cheap and friendly.
Great visit
The staff was amazing. We would stay again at this location.
Nice to come home tho this hotel.
Great location. Lovely hotel. Lovely staff.
Room was big and I like the split level, good TV programs, thoughtful accessories. Has everything you might need. Love the big bathroom and the small patio area to lounge. Sweet! Colonial architecture was a treat for the eyes. Location was fantastic right next the river and old town. The restaurant was nice, though they could definitely include many more vegetarian options, which were lacking and minimal. But loved the little, free Vietnamese "pizza" stand and the wait staff is super sweet and excellent without being in your face. A perfect experience!
Best place in HOI AN.
Awesome hotel and city
We stayed in the Deluxe River View and had the best time. Great hotel. We loved it.
Excellent hotel close to the old town and some wonderful restaurants.
Beautiful hotel. Friendly and inviting staff always keen to help and make our stay enjoyable and easy
Very polite helpful staff. Beautiful, peaceful settings
Staff was friendly, food was good, spa service excellent. Don't like the structure of the complex or rooms. The resort is right in the middle of a busy street - not very resort feel. The pool is small and of V-shape - can't really swim there. The rooms have no windows except on the door side - that means when the door is closed, you are trapped indoor. And we did look at three types of rooms. They were all the same.
Beautiful, tranquil, Vietnamese hospitality.
We had a lovely few days here. The staff are wonderfully kind and patient. The rooms are pleasingly designed with a calm, tranquil feel. We switched rooms to an upper level river view after one night as there was a lot of footfall outside our original ground level room as it was by the pool area. The upper level room was calm and peaceful. Each riverview room has a little sitting area/patio with a ceiling fan that makes for a really relaxing nook. On our last night we arrived home late and tired after a busy day exploring Hoi An and when we got into bed we were surprised to find rather a lot of sand inside the sheets! It made for a very uncomfortable night of sleep and when we spoke to the management about this the next day they refunded us the payment for the night. It was very well-handled by the management team, as this isn't the level of comfort that they aspire to provide, or that one would expect from an Anantara property. The breakfast buffet is worth calling out especially, as it's small but perfectly formed and utterly delicious. After we left the property we realised we had forgotten an errand at a shop just across the street, and the hotel staff were extremely kind in helping us complete the errand, even though we had already checked out. We were blown away by their kindness and helpfulness - true Vietnamese hospitality. All in all a wonderful stay, and probably the best place to stay in Hoi An.
The location of the hotel is superb. The staff are all very welcoming and accommodating, they were happy to help and to chat and were very informative about Hoi An and Vietnam. The room was lovely, very comfortable and a good size and serviced well. The little balcony outside the room was lovely, overlooking the river. A few disappointments, we asked for a late check out and it was extended until 2pm, but we would be charged USD100 if we wanted it until 5pm. This was a Monday and we could clearly see, in the pool, in unused rooms and in the dining areas, that the hotel was practically empty, it would have cost the hotel nothing, but it would have been a simple and easy way to excel in customer service and consideration. I felt that the staff were following a rule and would not alter. We were offered a late check out until 5pm if we arranged for a car to Da Nang airport through the hotel, but again, this was over USD100! We caught a taxi, large and air conditioned for USD25. The prices are not comparable. Also, we ate in the riverside cafe, it is a superb location and the staff were very good. But the cost of the meal for two people was extortionate, especially the wine. The food was okay, but it didn't justify a bill of USD150!!! We didn't spend a third of that in the great restaurants in Hoi An, where the food was actually better. We didn't try the spa, as again, it was very expensive. I appreciate that the hotel may need to charge higher rates, but when you h
Great hotel, wonderful location.
This is a great hotel, perfect location within walking distance to the old town and all the great places to eat and relax. The breakfast provided was wonderful with an excellent selection. Staff were friendly and very attentive. The room was lovely and spacious. The pool was beautiful and clean. The only criticism I have is the price of drinks at the hotel restaurant. A glass of wine was $18(Aus) for a $40 bottle of NZ wine and the beer was also expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed at. The restaurant and bars were very quiet at the hotel. The night we ate there we were the only guests. I assume that other guests would have also found they were much better off eating outside the hotel. The laundry fees were also very expensive at 5 times the cost of the local laundry’s just outside the hotel gates who washed and pressed our laundry professionally and returned within 24 hours.
This hotel thought and catered for everything. The attention to detail and all the little extras throughout the hotel combined with the beautiful staff makes this place very special. There’s a real sense of calm and relaxation throughout. The rooms are beautiful, great size and decorated beautifully with everything you need.
Best in town
Perfect ..
Beautiful heritage style, beautifully maintained grounds, right on the river, great staff
Lovely introduction to Hoi An
Great location, lovely staff - let down by breakfast.
great hotel
great hotel...an oasis near the busy Old Town.
One to return to
Very well located, comfortable hotel which combined modern comfort with traditional charm. Helpful, friendly staff. Only bad point was the buffet dinner in the riverside restaurant - very poor selection, poor quality food and greatly overpriced (very poor value for money).Breakfast and a la carte lunch was fine.
Very impressed
The best hotel experience I have had in years, the staff could not have possibly been more accomdating to ensure our stay was as memorable as possible. We arrived early, checked out late and enjoyed every minute in between. We travel frequently and always like to try new places but we shall return here without question.
Relaxing
The staff was professional and welcoming. The food was fantastic, and we were impressed by the variety on display at the breakfast buffet. Great location, both by the river and walkable to everyone one could want in Hoi An.
Beautiful oasis in busy Hoi An. Enjoyed the pool and the beautifully appointed rooms.
Amazing hotel and great service Beautiful room with great amenities
Well located to explore Hoi An
Wonderful relaxing experience. Fab hotel and facilities right next to the river and only a few steps from the old town if Hoi An. And they produced a birthday cake too, thank you highly recommend. Would definitely return here.
The staff are mostly lovely, the property beautiful. The rooms have great porches for sitting outside. Hoi An is utterly charming. But three things marred our visit. There is no soundproofing between rooms. You hear every chair moved in the room above you, even light switches being flipped in the room next to you. At the front desk we tried to exchange a hundred-dollar bill, as we were out of cash. The staff refused because the bill had a tiny blue mark on it, and they said the bank would not accept it. (Fortunately, when we marched over to the bank, this turned out to be untrue.) Third, an overly zealous cleaner threw out my invisiline retainers. True, they are clear, but they are not really hard to miss. Now I am stuck without them for two months of travel.
Go if u have all rhe time in the world.
Hopeless front desk. Queue forming with 2 front desk staff. One spent 15 min to sell tour package. Shouldnt there be another tour desk table. When checking into room, they take time to explain things that you dont need. I will not stay again. I am a discovery member. No such issue in Thailand.
Friendliest staff we ever come across. We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Anantara and didn’t want to leave! - would highly recommend
Very pleasant hotel in the centre of the town, within easy walking distance of the historic old town, shopping and restaurants. Would stay there again.
Fabulous stay
Absolutely delighted with our stay at Anantara! Great hotel. Book it, you won’t be sorry.
Central resort
Two nights in Hoi An. Bed is really good, and we had the best nights sleep while in Vietnam. Loved the pool and the breakfast too. Free bikes came very handy for exploring the old city
Overall lovely hotel
Lovely hotel overall. Pool was peaceful and great to cool down, not huge but perfect for what we needed. They are doing some refurbishments and some where located near our room so could hear that throughout they say. We also took a trip to My Son Ancient City with the hotel, thoroughly enjoyed it however it was quite pricey. The hotel transfers as well were very expensive. Good location you can walk into the old quarter easily.
Friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Pool very shallow and hard to get in/out of for older guests.
Good idyllic resort near Ancient Town
It's located in a good location, within walking distance to Ancient Town. However, the pillows were a let-down, far too flat. The service is excellent, and the breakfast buffet spread is quite varied and tasty.
Great hotel and location with great people working there.
Good location, mediocre resort
Overall Trip was okay. Some amazing staff, some not so amazing staff. Resort rooms could be updated. AC was loud and rooms were noisy - lots of kids running around yelling and screaming in the morning. Better for families than couples.
Nice hotel on river. Easy walking distance to market and old town sights. Good location for seeing Hoi An. Staff very helpful and friendly.
From check in to check out, Anantara Hoi An Resort was a quite pleasant experience for me and my family - so much that we spent a lot of time at the resort hotel. The location alongside the river and next to old town Hoi An is excellent. Our rooms, particularly the beds, were quite comfortable. The swimming pool is large and well-maintained. The complementary breakfast and dining experience are outstanding.
Fantastic property with excellent staff. The resort is not too big so has a more intimate feel and you become familiar with the staff. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Absolutely loved it and the location was great.
Beautiful hotel only minutes walk from the old town . Friendly staff , fabulous buffet breakfast with something to suit everyone.
Perfectly placed for old Hoi An market
This is our third stay at an Anantara hotel. We like what they do and what they offer in the way of facilities and decor. This hotel is right next to the Thu Bon River with very easy walking access to the old town and the market. The hotel offers free yoga classes and a variety of craft activities, plus a range of paid spa treatments. At night, the grounds are lit up with lanterns strung through the trees which makes for a beautiful sight. It does seem to be popular with families, which we wish we had known (having left our grown up young adults at home). Rooms are attended to twice a day and there are welcome gifts in your rooms on different nights. It is a very busy hotel and unfortunately, another hotel is being built immediately next door which made for a noisy stay sometimes. When you want to kick about at the pool and you have to content with dust clouds and drilling, it's not much fun!
Hotel close to the ancient city
The room is big and nicely decorated. The coffee machine, however, was not working very well.
Waisted of time and money - not 5 stars
We had a bad stay at Anantara, and we are both suprised and very disappointed. We were treated very bad by staff in restaurant the first evening, we adressed this with the duty manager, and she + assistant manager said they would compensate and make sure it did not happen again - talk is cheap and this never happened. Spa staff are very sweet, spa treatments are okay normal level for Anantara except for pedi and manicure - those are really not professional. There is no attention to details they are preforming as a 5 Star hotel more like a 3 Star Tourist group hotel. And FYI The balcony in the room is a patio, not with the privacy of a balcony, everyone walks by your patio area. Before you go to Anantara HoiAn maybe lower your expectations to 3 Star hotel or consider to finder other options to avoid disappointment.
Well run hotel and best located for HoiAn
The best hotel for Hoi An. Good location and the service at all levels were friendly, warm and efficient Due to some constitution works next to the hotel the resort is not as peaceful and we had hoped. But to be fair to Anamtara it is out of their control. It is a well run resort. If you want to near the old town this is the best hotel money can buy.
Rest and relaxation
Much needed rest and relaxation after hectic schedule in the north!
beautiful property.
the staff at the anantara were very accommodating and very friendly. the river view room we were allocated was just gorgeous. the grounds were well manicured. the breakfast was amazing. i would definitely stay here again and again. will be recommending this property to my friends and colleagues. thank you to all the staff at the anantara.
Excellent Hotel for Family in Hoi An
Staff at the Anantara were impeccable. Super friendly and helpful. Answered email inquiries before our arrival very promptly. Hotel setting is really nice and relaxing. Location is great; walking distance to market, old town, and Banh Mi Phuong!!!
Anantara Hoi An
The room was nice but very very dark. Put in more lights and brighter lights.
Nice place, lovely staff, quiet.
Resort is quite compact and was ok until it got really full over lunar new year, then the facilities only just coped I'd say like chairs around the pool. The bar was closed for renovations. Breakfast was good and included. Room was large with great bathroom. Bed was really soft, too soft for me also pillows same. Location beside river and flat walk to old Hoi An is ideal. It's a 500,000 dong taxi trip from the airport in Da Nang and takes about half an hour. The spa was about 6/10 for the prices charged. Overall this is a good place to stay, just watch the food and drink prices, they are a little high for the quality. It's a quiet place so not too exciting, no nightlife at all, few kids around, there's no kids club And lots of older couples. Staff were all lovely and helpful.
Great hotel
This is a great hotel and in a perfect location. Can't recommend it highly enough.
Excellent...
superb
Close to old town Hoi An
The best thing about this hotel is it's location. It's an easy 5 minute walk to the old town.
Sytlish hotel, pool let it down
Beautiful hotel, clean and tidy. Service was excellent. a little expensive to eat and drink in the hotel, especially compared to just up the road. The pool let this place down. Small, shallow, more like a cooling off plunge pool.
Perfection
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Anantara in Hoi An. This was our second time in Hoi An but our first at this resort. For us the location was perfect, close to the old town and overlooking the river. The staff were all lovely. They were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We had a small issue with lighting in our room and this was dealt with immediately. The room was fantastic, very spacious, a very comfortable bed and beautiful decor. It was very relaxing and we did not want to leave! The breakfast was also very good. We would certainly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.
the best location in Hoi an. breakfast very weak......
Nice hotel, good staff
Best customer care, will want to come back. The staff were very kind, helpful and with pleasant personality.
Great Hotel
The hotel is well located close to the old town. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was excellent. The service from hotel employees is truly wonderful. The friendly and attentive staff couldn't do enough for us. We would love to come back again
Perfect
Everything was perfect. Nothing else to say.............
Simply Beautiful
We had two nights in this beautiful hotel and and truly enjoyed our stay. The Anantara is located on the river and is a super location to explore the Old Quarter of Hoi An which is less than a 10 minute walk away. Believe me, this is a town where you want to walk and explore all the charming nooks and crannies Hoi An has to offer! We were given a wonderful room on the second floor where our personal patio area overlooked the marvelous pool. Inside the room we had a spacious sitting area, a very comfortable bed and a bathroom with the most wonderfully soft and enormous towels. The breakfast buffet each morning was terrific. This was probably the most expensive hotel during our two week vacation and unfortunately we waited till this point to do laundry. The few items we had done cost about $40 USD so I recommend looking at the laundry service which is located on the corner just across the street from the hotel. The staff at the hotel were professional, but a few lacked the warmth we had experienced in hotels elsewhere in our travels through Vietnam & Cambodia.
Beautiful and relaxing!
Very friendly and welcoming. Lovely colonial style building on the river bank, easily walkable to Old Town (or via free bikes). Particularly good breakfast range of foods, and the pool was great to relax by given the heat.
Best place in Hoi An. Tranquil .
Don't stay anywhere else . This is the only place you want to stay. Has everything , walk everywhere , amazing staff
Nice, relaxing hotel adjacent to old town
Perfect for a couple or family. Location very convienient yet outside of the busy area.
Fantastic
Had a great stay at the resort, very relaxing. The wifi could've been better and the gym could be a bit bigger but on the whole it was a wonderful getaway!
Ideal place to stay in Hoï An
We had 7 wonderful nights at the Anantara. The staff was always very kind and caring. Ideally located on the banks of the river, the hotel allowed us to enjoy both the beautiful view and the refreshing breeze. Go for the river-view rooms on second floor, it's worth it. The hotel is also very close from the lively center. The spa and the pool were perfect to relax and enjoy this much needed break. Thanks again to the whole team. We highly recommend!
Lovely Hotel, very close to town, shops etc.
From the time we arrived until we left the staff could not do enough for us. We had our privacy if you wanted or could call on them anytime for assistance. The rooms were just beautiful and very clean. The gardens, pool area, restaurants ... I could go on and on. We had a fabulous time and so happy we chose to stay at Anantara.
Good resort.
We stay 3 nights with our friends. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast very good. We ready decided to come back again.
We had a great stay I this hotel. Superb breakfast. This is a top of the line hotel. I would stay here again if I come back to hoi an.
Best hotel in Hoi An
The Anantara has made my stay in Hoi An a memorable one. The location and stunning amenities make it a fantastic choice. The included breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The Riverside Cafe has delicious food and good coffee. I was impressed with the staff as they were extremely helpful and friendly. I will stay at Anantara again.
Excellent hotel close to Hoi An ancient city
Had friendly and excellent service. Outstanding breakfasts.
A True Gem on our Vietnam Adventure!
Great hotel. We would return and wish we had more days in Hoi An! Loved Loved Loved. Customer Service, Spa and Breakfast Amazing.
Great location close to town. Along the river.
We loved this hotel and it is our favorite on the trip so far. The staff were friendly, the buffet breakfast excellent, the pool delightful, the room fantastic. Walking distance to old town. The staff helped organize some day trips. The massage at the spa was excellent.
Excellent. Close to historic centre of Hoi An.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We were close to the historic centre of Hoi An yet could retreat to this haven for a cooling swim or a relaxing drink. The room was spacious and comfortable and the service was very good.
Fabulous hotel in excellent location!
We've just spent a fabulous week at the Anantara. the staff were superb from my first email to checking-in, all though our stay and then on checking out a few days ago. Couldn't have been more helpful and eager to assist in any way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. We were upgraded to a lovely very large room on the ground floor, where we walked out on the river. So peaceful and relaxing and even though the hotel appeared to be full at the weekends, it didn't seem like it. Our room was lovely, with a large and extremely comfortable bed and a fabulous bathroom, well kitted out with supplies. Breakfasts were held upstairs overlooking the river, a fantastic choice of everything you could wish for including lots of lovely juices, carrot, cucumber, etc besides my all-time favourite water-melon. We only ate twice at the hotel in the evening as there are so many excellent restaurants in the town, but each time was very impressed by the quality of food available. Loved the buffet which coincidentally was on our anniversary. Wonderful setting by the river with fabulous food, a fantastic evening. The pool area was well maintained with beds all around mostly in the shade, they also had huge bean bag cushions on the grassy area to relax on, for those who wanted to lie in the sun for a while. The pool was quite warm, my only adverse comment maybe it could have done with being a few degrees cooler in these temps, but that wouldn't stop us staying there again - we'll be back!
Excellent hotel, couldn't fault it in any way.
The location of the hotel is perfect. Its quiet with scenic views of the river, but only 5 minutes walk from the hustle and bustle of town. The pool is beautiful and although mainly quite shady this is very welcome given the heat. Our room was spacious and immaculate. The service was amazing. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and interested in what we were doing. The breakfast buffet was very good and sipping coffee on the terrace whilst watching the boats on the river was a great start to the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Perfect Luxury
This hotel thoroughly exceeded our expectations. We were celebrating our honeymoon and my husbands birthday and the hotel staff made us feel most welcome and very special. The transfers were excellent as was checkin, room service and turn down service. The staff even arranged a surprise birthday cake! The location is also perfect, a short walk from the centre of Hoi An.
Hoi An too many tourists
great hotel, great staff Hoi An is now too developed to be fun, too many tourists. But the comfort of this hotel made it a fun visit
Misleading marketing
We decided to stay at this hotel for our honeymoon after reading good reviews. We booked a junior river view suite with 'private terrace' but it was anything but private. It's actually just a little section outside your room that you can sit on the corridor while everyone walks past. The photos suggest you get your own balcony - but there is only one room in the hotel with this. This lack of privacy is the same as all rooms in the hotel. The lack of privacy also means you always have to have your blinds shut so you can't see the view anyway. Most staff were friendly and helpful. However the corridor outside our room seemed to be where staff took their breaks so while we were trying to enjoy our terrace, staff were talking loudly on mobile phones in front of us or chatting to each other - which we felt was odd considering they could see we were trying to enjoy the view. The hotel tries hard to sell its services - we were offered at least six times to have a private dining experience. The prices are very inflated. They offer an airport transfer for $90 but a taxi cost us $20. The rooms are nice and clean.
Nice place in Hoi An
Well located homestay, clean, big room. Do not expect anything luxurious, but the room is comfortable. Well located in the near the old city. You can walk there in about 10 minutes. Very friendly owner.
The place to stay in Hoi An, if you can afford it
Hoi An is a beautiful city and the Anantara was the perfect place to stay. Just on the outskirts of the old town (walkable within 5-10 minutes) meant it was peaceful and just lovely by the river side. The pool was blissful, breakfast buffets delicious, complimentary morning yoga and bikes a real treat. The rooms were very comfortable and staff very attentive. Loved the bedtime stories given out every evening...nice touch.
A very pleasant hotel by the river. Don't be disappointed not to have a river view - most don't, it's not an inspiring view at this part of Hoi An and the leafy courtyard view is better. Five minute walk to the start of the old town.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hoi An
Location - Ideal. On the river, a short walk away from the old town. Food - Great. Breakfast was really good. A good wine list, shockingly good for such a small town. The local food on the menu was a revelation. Service - Excellent. Noel and his team treated us like family. Room - Spacious, well maintained and has a great bed. We had a room with what was probably the least desirable location - facing the main road. So there was a bit of noise from the traffic. But we really didn't hear much once we were in our comfortable bed. Still, if we were to do anything differently on our next stay, we may ask for a room that does not face the street. As a proportion, very few of their rooms do anyway.
Not all it seems
Very disappointed, room nice enough but backing onto very noisy road, tried to get quieter room but wasn't possible. Also hotel policy to charge huge bucks for compulsory Christmas Eve buffett was outrageous given the resultant meal and then having to pay for wine AND WATER on top.
Lovely hotel close to the old town
Friendly, professional staff. Great location for the old town. Wide range of good food for breakfast overlooking the river. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Overall, everything you would expect in this price range.
Beautiful Hotel
Beautiful Hotel in a tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of Hoi An but close enough for a stroll in to the town.
Luxury living
This is our fourth time at Anantara. We first stayed there when it was known as the Lifestyle Heritage Resort. We love coming back for it's ambience and luxury. We look forward to coming back in the future.
Great location, very relaxing
This was a perfect compromise for my husband and I. Close enough to the old city to do my shopping, spa and be near all the nice restaurants etc. And enough chill out space for my husband to unwind, relax and enjoy himself. Beautiful setting, makes you forget you're only a 10min walking distance from the 'hustle and bustle' of the city. Breakfast amazing, staff very accommodating and friendly. Had a very enjoyable time!

Wonderful room facility and staff. Big shout out to Hong and Chau
