Smart Platinum members of the AVA Smart Program now have the option to choose between Bitcoin or AVA rewards for their travel bookings on Travala.com.
The Smart Platinum tier—which can be activated by locking 2,500 AVA in your Travala.com account—offers up to 5% back in Bitcoin or AVA. The rewards available for Smart Platinum members on hotel and activity bookings are 5%, while rewards for flight bookings are 1%. The reward percentages are the same for both Bitcoin and AVA rewards.
To select Bitcoin as the preferred reward currency, Smart Platinum members can navigate to the AVA Smart Program account section. By default, the reward currency is set to AVA. Members also have the option to select their reward currency for each individual booking during the payment process without changing their default reward currency.
The entire rewards process is performed on the Travala.com platform, enabling rewards to be accurately recorded and distributed within 24 hours of trip completion. For comparison, cashback sites typically use cookies and distribute rewards 3–4 months after a trip is completed.
The Bitcoin rewards feature was introduced last month to Diamond members, who can earn up to 10% back in either Bitcoin or AVA.
Smart Platinum Membership Perks
In addition to receiving crypto rewards on travel bookings, Smart Platinum members also receive a discount of up to 5% on the platform, applied directly to the listed prices at the time of booking.
Up to a further 3% discount is available on bookings paid in full with the AVA token.
Additional Platinum member perks provided by the AVA Foundation include an AVA Smart Bonus of 15% per year on your locked AVA and the chance to participate in airdrops of early-stage token partner projects.
